Gemma SAVED my wedding dress! After another seamstress ruined my wedding dress a month before my wedding, Gemma came to my rescue. She is the fairy god mother of my wedding! She completely redesigned my dress in just a few weeks. I couldn’t believe how beautiful it turned out! You would never ever know my dress was in pieces before I met with her! She is so talented and professional. She seriously has a gift! You can feel her confidence. Gemma put me at ease and made the dress of my dreams! Gemma did the alterations for my wedding dress earlier this year. She also did the alterations for my sister's Maid of Honor dress. Gemma is such an amazing person and did equally an amazing job on my wedding dress. From the very beginning she was very responsive and helpful, even in the craziness of the unknown with COVID. Gemma was able to get me in right away to alter my dress. She knew exactly what I needed to make the dress fit perfectly and even knew what I wanted when I couldn't figure out a way to articulate what I wanted :) She was able to do some custom alterations by adding a slit to my dress and adding straps. She also made me the perfect custom veil to go with my dress that was simple, beautiful, and elegant. It complemented my dress very well without taking away from it. We had to push back our wedding by a year and she was able to keep the dress safe until I was ready to pick it up. When I got the dress and tried it on for that last fitting, it was perfect! It was everything I had hoped it would be. For our wedding, I couldn't get over how wonderful the dress felt and looked. It was beautiful! Gemma was excellent on working with me to modify my dress within a very short timeline for my wedding overseas. She has great ideas to make a dress perfect. My wedding ended up being later in the year than originally thought, so Gemma designed and made me a beautiful bolero jacket that matched the lace in the dress perfectly and fit like a glove.

Gemma is really talented at what she does, but is quite rude and pushy when it comes to talking a customer into adding additional services. I had a few alterations done to my dress and she did a beautiful job. When I chose not to get my dress cleaned at her establishment, she got upset and told me she hopes the place I take my dress to doesn't destroy my dress while cleaning it. That is a horrible thing to say to a bride that is stressed and nervous days before her wedding. As I mentioned before, she is talented, but it comes with a price (literally and figuratively).

Gemma and her team are fantastic. I bought my dress used. It was in great shape, only a size or half a size too big, and was in desperate need of a good cleaning. After another vendor told me my dress had a silk lining and that it would be difficult to get cleaned, I went to Gemma based on their recommendation. My dress looked brand new after the first fitting. Gemma and her team clean your dress between each fitting. So my dress was cleaned essentially 4/5 times before wedding day. They were so kind, professional, and did amazing work. My dress fit like a glove. It looked like it was made for me. Gemma even steamed some of my out of town bridal party dresses after their long flights. I can't wait to have her preserve my dress.

Gemma was incredible in making my dress fit me like a glove! She also guided me on how to sit in the dress and how to bustle the dress since I never really wear dresses! She is so knowledgeable and is an expert in wedding dress alterations. Highly recommend!

Gemma is AMAZING! She designed the entire top half of my dress and added sleeves. She somehow was able to produce the EXACT DRESS I had envisioned myself. The whole staff is so friendly and helpful. Gemma is literally a God send! I came to her in tears 2 weeks before my wedding because a different seamstress had messed up my dress. She assured me she would fix it in time and went above and beyond to redo my whole dress and made sure everything fit and looked perfect. We had 3 months to plan our wedding. I purchased a beautiful Maggie Sottero gown that was too big, but a great deal. Gemma was able to alter and improve the gown so it was perfect. The whole staff was great to workeith, especially under the crazy time constraint.

Let me just start off with saying that Gemma does amazing amazing amazing alterations! I had bought my wedding dress a few sizes too big off of the rack at a wedding store that did not offer alterations but they gave some recommendations. I am so happy that I picked Gemma’s! Everyone at Gemma’s is so pleasant to do business with and Gemma listens to every detail that you are looking for in your dress. I had brought my dress to Gemma’s 6 months prior to my wedding and didn’t know what to expect. During the alteration process I had lost a lot of weight and was worried that my dress was going to lose some detail but Gemma’s actually didn’t lose any detail, they molded my dress beyond my imagination. I couldn’t be more happy with the outcome of my dress and the welcoming service I always received at Gemma’s! I would highly recommend!

Where to start! I had a semi-huge (everything is huge when you are the bride) wedding dress issue. The place I had bought my dress from also altered them. When that seamstress was finished, the dress looked nothing like the dress I had originally tried on. It didn't flatter my body type and I just hated it. I told them my concerns and they told me the dress fit me like a glove and there was nothing they could do. I was about ready to just accept my dreadful dress when I did a google search and found Gemma. I called, exactly 15 days before my wedding, and I was told to come in that day. Gemma took one look at the dress and knew what was wrong. I didn't even have to tell her what I didn't like. All I can say is that Gemma truly saved my dress, and in the 15 days before my wedding. Now I don't have to spend a lifetime cringing at my wedding photos. THANK YOU GEMMA!

Gemma attentively listened to all of my unusual requests and took complete care of each one of them with confidence and precision to leave me worry-free. I was so impressed with her calm and flexible thinking as she presented the best ways to conquer my vision of the best dress for me. She was particular/perfectionistic and produced exceptional work. She met my timing needs and was responsive to my desires through the entire process. On top of all that, she is even caring and sweet! I’m so grateful for her!

I was very disappointed with the entire experience at Gemmas. We took my daughters dress in to have the back built up, sleeves added, and the hem shortened. We were warned that she was expensive but that she was the best. Our first visit was about 2.5 hours. It was a difficult dress to "remake". I wish she would have told us that at the beginning . Two visits later it was clear that the dress would NOT work. It looked like it had been "added to' and looked choppy and cheap. My daughter was in tears and we had to find a new dress and start over. The kicker is that I was charged $1,150 at the first visit and then an additional $250 at the second visit. I had to buy two veils to cut the edging off to use to cover the seams where it was "built up "in the back. Gemma did refund me $180 of the $1400. So basically I paid $1200 dollars just in alterations for a dress that will never be worn. Take my advice, shop around for someone who charges a fair price for the hours and work to be done. I expected a refund for the pressing, bustle, hemming which was never done. She found a way to justify only a small amount of money to refund.

I am so thankful that I found Gemma to alter my wedding dress! I was very nervous about alterations to my dress, I spent a ton of money on my dress and there were already buttons coming off and lace coming up and I was really discouraged that it would be perfect for my wedding until I met Gemma. She talked me through absolutely everything, she fixed everything on the dress that the bridal boutique should have fixed, and she 100% understood my vision for how I wanted my dress to fit. She showed me exactly what my alterations would look like before doing anything to the dress and showed me multiple options for how to achieve what I was wanting to make sure that it was perfect. She was fair in price and she let me come in for as many fittings as I wanted to make me feel comfortable and confident. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for alterations.

Gemma is fantastic! I bought a lovely dress at a small boutique but I wanted to make a lot of changes. I walked in and shared my vision with Gemma, she brought it to life. We took a modern wedding dress and transformed it into a vintage inspired masterpiece. She cut the dress to a beautiful length, bringing the lace up. She used part of the original train to design sleeves that made the dress perfect! I couldn't be more pleased with her work. Beyond that, Gemma was kind, friendly, and creative. I loved everything about working with her.

Gemma was an absolute pleasure to work with. I wanted a high slit in my wedding dress and she nailed the alteration! She was able to turn my wedding dress into my dream dress! I went to schedule to get my dress altered and scheduling was so easy, but found out that there were a lot of mysterious fees that suddenly arose without any warning or knowledge. I went in and had a wonderful experience but was surprised to know that I had to pay in full. To give you an idea, my dress was around $1000 and she wanted $700 for alterations that was simply a hem. I reluctantly agreed and then got home and decided I wanted second opinions. When I asked to get my dress back, it was a battle and there was a five dollar transaction fee and a random $25 "consultation fee" for the 10 minutes she spent with me. When I asked her where this was listed, the response is that is what she charges and didn't have any proof to show me. I felt like since I changed my mind, there was a random fee since she was upset. I spent almost a half an hour battling trying to get my dress back and just left with a sour taste from the whole experience. When I explained to me that it concerned me that things would change with the prices, she yelled that " I just don't trust her business and that she didn't get all of the knot awards for nothing." and then pointed to all of her awards in the back. Just don't go there unless you plan on committing because you will literally have to pay everything and potential "fees" on top of it with your dress as collateral.

Gemma took my mom's dress and altered it to be exactly what I wanted! I was told I looked like a princess all night thanks to Gemma's work. She was so nice during the process and a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend her to anyone in the area looking to get alterations done for your wedding dress.

Gemma and Lynn did an excellent job taking care of me. They helped me redesign my dress, take off the original appliqué and added an elegant amount of bling to the top of my dress to add a little extra sparkle. She did a great job fitting the dress to my body, patched a tear, took in the bodice, and hemmed my challenging ruffled skirt. Reserve your appointment with Gemma early in your planning process if you can. She is a popular lady because of her excellent workmanship and skill.

Had a great experience here! I needed the neckline lowered on my dress. Took it to another place at first and they said they wouldn't work on it because the of the beading at the top and were afraid they'd ruin it. I felt discouraged. I did some google searching and was referred to Gemmas. They were able to lower the neckline to my liking and did an excellent job on the rebeading. Would definitely recommend to anyone who needs alterations done.

Gemma was amazing! She made my dress fit like a dream. From start to finish, even when I threw in a last minute curve ball, Gemma was professional and reliable. Gemma is Absolutely Amazing! I was referred to her by a family friend as well as the Bridal shop where I bought my dress. She has did wonders on my dress, being that she had to take it in from a size 20 to almost a 12. She is very personal with you and takes her time with all the details. Her shop is cozy and beautiful. Ended up getting my veil, corset, and slip from her as well. I have seen other brides ecstatic about their dresses and let me say, I have not seen anyone do better work than her. Will definately be recommending her for all occasions if anyone ever need alterations. She is a Dress Angel!
