Gen Palmer Photography

My husband and I booked Gen for our June wedding at the Estate at Eagle Lake in Chesterfield, NJ. Working with Gen was an absolute dream! Neither of us are especially used to being in the spotlight - luckily, she’s great at making you feel comfortable enough to be photographed. When we were looking for a photographer for our wedding, it was important to us that the photos never looked too staged. We just wanted to capture exactly what was there. Gen’s photos are truly full of life. When we look back on them, it feels like we are living the day all over again. She also covered everything from our 8 am rehearsal to our last dance at 10:30 pm, a really special encapsulation of the entire experience.

Working with Gen has been a pleasure! She is knowledgeable, friendly, fun, and most importantly does great work! She did everything to make sure we were comfortable and got the pictures we want during our engagement shoot and during the wedding. A few guests have even commented on how wonderful Gen is!

We hired Gen a few months ago for our wedding on 6/25/2021. We just did out engagement shoot and it was so fun and laid back. It felt like I was just hanging out with my fiance and Gen was there to take some pictures. The beach was packed on a Saturday night still, and we were worried about how to avoid having crowds in the back of the photos. But Gen did an excellent job of positioning us and most importantly making us feel at ease! We can't wait for our wedding, especially with Gen there to make it all seem so easy.

When COVID-19 made us cancel our big party and scale down to a tiny backyard wedding, Gen was there to help make the event beautiful and meaningful. She is an incredible photographer who captured every laugh, even through our face masks. Her cheerful presence and ability to roll with the unexpected made her a joy to work with, and we look forward to having her back for our big party, whenever that may be!

Gen was amazing. She is one of the sweetest people we've ever met and made everyone feel at ease in front of the camera. She is obviously very enthusiastic about photography, which made working with her so much fun. She was 100% on board for trying all the weird things we wanted to try, like hopping into a sculpture or getting on a pirate ship jungle gym. She was a joy to work with on the wedding day and leading up to it - quick to respond and made sure we got all the photos we wanted. We are in love with all our photos and so happy we went with Gen!

Working with Gen was such a dream. She is so clearly passionate about her work and you can tell she really wants to capture great memories for you. She was so helpful throughout the day! She made our entire timeline which was super helpful and it worked really well. She made sure to get the pictures we asked for and everyone at the wedding kept coming up to me telling me how she seemed to be everywhere taking candids during the reception. Do yourself a favor and book with Gen!

I am SO in love with Gen's work!! I found her while screening through photographer's in the South Jersey area for my Princeton wedding and it was a perfect match! Her work is natural but so romantic. I was nervous for our engagement photo shoot because I wasn't sure if we would do a good job of posing and just feeling natural, but Gen guided us so easily and captured SO many beautiful pictures that I will have for a life time! She listened to what I wanted (making sure to get those special poses) and also suggested certain ones as well. She let me create a pinterest board for inspiration on what I was looking to capture and bought copies if it to our shoot to make sure we captured everything. :) Our shoot was at longwood gardens (highly recommend if you want a princess/prince feeling or romance surrounded by flowers in your photo's). She paid our entrance fee and even packed my second look in her back pack (what a trooper!) I ended up only using one of the dresses, but they fact that she went that far to give me my dream photo shoot meant alot. Her turnaround for our gallery was FAST I feel like 3 weeks it was done? Not 100% positive. I just know I wasn't more than a month and a half. If your wedding is in the vicinity or her travelling locations BOOK GEN! I swear, you won't regret it. Her style is just natural and timeless. No filters (besides black & white because sometimes you need that for the emotion in the photo!) If that is your style then you will love working with her! UPDATE* WEDDING REVIEW. Okay, I'm going to start by saying how thankful I am for finding Gen and having her capture our special day. I had reached out to a few photographers who work down in the south jersey area for my Princeton Wedding (9/26/20) but none of them really clicked. After talking with Gen on our initial touch base to go over what I was looking for and her style I knew she was the perfect fit. Her work is natural, romantic, timeless and just captures all the emotions on your big day! Or any event really! She created a wedding timeline for me that helped tremendously and made me feel at ease during the big day when I felt overwhelmed. She's just so amazing and I can't wait to work with her again for baby's first photoshoot and countless family portraits! Do yourself a favor and book with Gen if you have a wedding or event in her travel radius. I promise you won't be disappointed!

I haven't even gotten my pictures back yet but I know from the sneak peaks that Gen is the best choice I made during my wedding (besides marrying my husband). She is so easy to talk too, made myself as well as all my family and friends feel comfortable in front of the camera, She has a way of making it seem like you aren't taking hundreds of photos and hypes you up the whole time. She was always willing to chat over the phone and answer my endless questions, she reached out to all my vendors for me and gave them our timeline so the day went off as planned and probably most importantly, she has amazing talent! She captured the day perfectly for us and her willingness to do some shots she has never done and straying from the norm is one of the many reasons Gen is an amazing photographer. GO with her, you won't even regret it a little bit.
