Generation Y Entertainment is an energetic wedding DJ company based in Jacksonville, FL. The team believes in bringing a modern flair to every wedding and avoiding overplayed DJ playlists. They also enjoy keeping a crowd on their feet, dancing throughout the night.
The owners, Charlee and Caleb Stoner take great pride in being a part of each couple’s special day. In return for having them, they want to give couples an experience and atmosphere they will never forget. Charlee has a business degree in supervision and management and Caleb is a Marine Corps Veteran, though they both share a love for all things music. They used their knowledge and combined passion to create the thriving business that is known today as Generation Y Entertainment.
Generation Y Entertainment operates with only the best and reliable equipment from brands such as Bose, Apple, and Shure. Whether it is a ceremony, reception, or cocktail hour, the team is more than happy to provide their services. Before the wedding, couples can arrange a consultation to discuss their needs and music preferences. From electronic to hip hop, the DJs can curate a setlist that will suit everyone and get wedding guests on the dance floor. Hello my name is Caleb, and I own Generation Y Entertainment! I am a USMC vet, I like to dance and beatbox, and I'm a UNF graduate with a bachelors in Political Science. I started DJ'ing as a hobby in 2011 when I got out of the Marine Corps. I officially started this biz with my beautiful wife Charlee in 2014, and to date I've worked well over 400 events. Our goal was to create a company that is a dignified, with a stylish DJ option for couples who don't want their DJ embarrassing them on their big day and to hopefully raise the standard for the entire industry as a whole.

the seats and on the dance floor! Not one person at our wedding was sitting down; they were all up dancing all night long. My guests raved about the music and Caleb all night. He also has the coolest and sleekest DJ set up I’ve ever seen. It’s so sleek, that he really can blend well in any reception environment! He threw the best wedding reception I’ve ever been to! Caleb is not only full of fun and has an extensive music knowledge base, he’s very kind, approachable, honest, high integrity and so accommodating! He took the time to get to know my husband and me and asked engaging and thoughtful questions. So as he MC’d through the night, he was able to speak from the heart and with genuine words and emotions about our family and marriage. He was excellent at keeping the night going, moving the crowd in the perfect direction, helping out the bridal party behind the scenes on where to stand and when to come up and make the speech or where to stand when they entered the reception. The night was flawless. The DJ is a HUGE part, if not the heart beat of the reception, and Caleb is the gentleman any bride and groom would want and be lucky to have for the job. His professionalism, kindness, genuine care for me and my husband and our guests is truly not like any other DJ you will find. He listened to our likes and dislikes and you can trust he will make your night magical. Caleb is so detailed and cares so much about how the reception is executed; you can really relax and trust he will go above and beyond to produce an incredible and unforgettable night. I cannot praise him enough. Thank you Caleb for all your hard work and for blessing us with the best party we’ve ever been to and memories to last a lifetime. We are so grateful for you! He is very professional, approachable, organized, and detail-oriented so we were very confident he would keep the party going all night long. He takes a lot of pride in what he does and was very invested in helping make our day special. He did an excellent job introducing our bridal party and announcing all the activities like speeches, parent dances, and anniversary dance in a very natural way during the reception. He has a great taste in music and really took the time to understand the type of music we wanted to be played during the reception for both ourselves and our guests. As a result he kept the dance floor packed all night and our guests of all ages were raving about how much they enjoyed the music!! He also had a great sense of timing for when to play certain types of songs. For example, we had “Country Roads” on our must-play list and Caleb decided to play it towards the end of the night. It brought all our guests together singing along with their arms around each other and created one of the most wholesome moments of the night. It also set up the final song perfectly! Since my husband and I are both Clemson alumni and we had a lot of our Clemson friends in attendance, we planned for the last song to be Tiger Rag which Caleb went out of his way to make sure he could play for us. Throughout the whole process Caleb genuinely cared about our day and worked hard to ensure that our wedding sounded exactly like we dreamed it would. lanning was to find a DJ who would set the tone for the party and from our first call we could tell Caleb was the guy. He has a very collaborative approach when it comes to music and worked with us to find a right balance of the vibe we wanted for our party. Not only that, he gave great advice and direction when it came to the overall flow of events and timeline of the ceremony and reception. We felt confident leaning into his expertise. He made sure everything from the ceremony to the toasts, dinner, dances, etc. flowed seamlessly.
We had a large crowd (160+) and there was not one moment the dance floor wasn't packed. We gave Caleb a wide range of music styles - from oldies to club hits, reggaeton, salsa, pop punk and more - and he balanced the party perfectly and always kept the energy up.
Lastly, he is just a lovely person to work with and we could tell he truly cared about making sure we had the best experience on our wedding day. We could not recommend him enough!

He was flexible, incredibly talented, so extremely kind, patient, and such a fun and cool human being. My husband and I enjoyed working with him so much that right before our exit, we told him that when we are back in town, we wanted to get dinner with him and his wife LOL! We wholeheartedly were going to miss our interactions and didn't want to part ways. His talent in song selection and being a DJ is out of this world. He works so diligently to curate the perfect vibes for your day. He sends over such a detailed google doc and asks so many great and important questions before your day to ensure the music will be spot on. During our last call in preparation for the big day, I was mentioning a funny story about how on my bachelorette, we played "What's Up?" by The 4 Non Blondes about 500 times, since that is my favorite song. I was expressing to Caleb how it was the theme song of my whole bachelorette trip. Fast forward to our wedding reception and he queued all my bridesmaids to the center of the circle and played that song so I could enjoy it once more with not only all of my girls, but my husband. He played it at the perfect time and I think you could see my smile from 1,000 yards away! It was such a highlight of the reception and it shows how much he listens and cares about all of his brides & grooms. My husband and I STILL have guests who rave about how that was the "best reception DJ they have ever experienced" and what a blast we all had dancing together. I can promise you, without a shadow of a doubt, that if you are looking for the perfect DJ, Caleb & Generation Y Entertainment are the way to go. 10000/10 would recommend!

I know how important a DJ is to the overall wedding experience. Everyone I spoke with recommended Caleb and Generation Y Entertainment. From our first encounter to the actual wedding day, he was professional, thorough, detail-oriented and had great ideas and suggestions to help us plan the day. My wife and I used Caleb for our wedding in June and can’t recommend him enough. He was very thorough on what kind of music we wanted and how we wanted the flow of the night to go....
He was very accommodating and ready and willing to change things on the fly. He is great at getting people dancing but in no ways overbearing. He does not try to make himself the center of the show and only interjects when need. He was perfect for a fun night and making it about us.

GYE provided us with an information sheet well in advance to fill out with every single detail we possibly needed to think about for the wedding. It was a great system to use and helped a lot when it came to brainstorming our vibe and ironing out the details. Caleb’s setup was chic and low profile which matched the venue well. He came nicely dressed which we appreciated as well. He nailed our ceremony lighting, music, and sound system, transferred to a smooth cocktail hour, then helped keep our reception alive! He followed our wishes to a tee and was not a cheesy DJ 🙂 Having someone keep our timeline going and making it look easy was amazing. He also had a lot of suggestions for music if you did not know exactly what you were looking for. Would definitely have Caleb back if we had to do it all over again!

before hiring him to the very last song he played at our reception he went above and beyond. We had him for the entirety of our day including the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception and he was on point throughout the entire night. We have already received so many complements about how amazing he was and I am sure we will have many more of these complements to come!! Caleb was amazing at working with you on what your vision was for your wedding in regards to music selection and making that a reality. He had all of the guests on the dance floor the entire night and there was NEVER a dull moment or lapse. Even when it began to sprinkle a little bit he was amazing at ensuring they party continued while he and the white room coordinated if we could continue outside and even improvised by using covers over his equipment to ensure that the party went on. He was amazing at helping layout the flow of the night and ensuring all transitions went smoothly. From the start, the whole process was more than I can type in this review. I was very overwhelmed when it came to selecting vendors. When I first talked to Caleb on the phone he checked all my boxes and put all my fears behind me. I was able to work on a Google Doc with him throughout the whole engagement, selecting and reselecting songs and order of events. He really didn't need to be told what to do, but the type A bride I was, I gave him a very detailed explanation of when to stay what, and when to play each song and for how long.
Never once did I even THINK about this Google Doc the day of my wedding because Caleb was always 3 steps ahead of me. I felt like he was part of the wedding party, he was everywhere I needed him to be. I would go ask him to do something I had just thought of and before I could get back to my groom, it was already happening ! It was like magic, I don't know how to explain it.
Part of his service that really hooked me was the fact that everyone with speaking parts were going to be mic up. This was huge. How many weddings have you gone to and you couldn't hear anything? Not our wedding!
The compliments are still coming in about how well that night flowed so smoothly! Caleb, you will forever have our business and there will not be another DJ in town like you.
If you have made it this far, do yourself a favor and book with Caleb now. It will be the best dollars you spend on your special day, I promise you!

nicated so well while we were trying to decide which DJ to book. After we booked, he was transparent and followed through on all of our responsibilities (filling out our questionnaire) and when we would have a zoom/FaceTime chat. He was so nice and professional on our FaceTime call.
I didn’t want any obnoxious entertainment during our reception and he was absolutely perfect for my vision. The song choices he chose were spot on for our friends and family. Caleb came to ask myself and my husband a few questions during the reception- we never felt bothered or annoyed. (And- I was so glad he ran the questions by us.)
He had all of the needed equipment for our ceremony/cocktail hour/reception-fantastic lighting, wireless mic and lapel mics.
So many of our guests continue to tell us how amazing our DJ was. I would absolutely recommend Caleb!!!

making sure we had what we needed and that we were having a good time. His set up is top-notch and equipment (including lighting) used is great! He played such a fun variety of music that every one of our guests was out on the dance floor! He was super helpful during the multiple calls and emails we had leading up to our big day on what we wanted, our requests, what we didn't want, etc. It was very clear to us that Caleb enjoys his work and we would 100% recommend him to anyone looking! He certainly kept the party going all night long!!

From the start Caleb was nothing but friendly, accommodating and open to all of our music interests. He had two facetime meetings with us which were so helpful and he helped to create our timeline for our wedding day. He was very organized and created a google doc so that we could keep track of our timeline and add our must play music for our day. My husband and I are very into pop punk and Caleb stepped up to the plate to give us the best punk concert yet! He was extremely professional and kind to all of our guests and we heard nothing but great things about him by our friends and family. I HIGHLY recommend GYE. Caleb made our wedding day unforgettable.

g which was a well coordinated timeline, funny and lighthearted MC’ing throughout the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and reception, and nonstop lip-sync worthy, head banging, fist-pumping songs that were a mix of throwback r&b, angsty punk, and EDM songs that were nostalgic for all of the young millennials in the room. From the first call to after the wedding was done and over with, we felt like he and his team truly CARED about us and everything we wanted for our big day. We had almost every single guest tell us that our DJ was amazing. This was evident when we looked around and saw everyone screaming the lyrics to Mr Brightside, followed by Caleb himself showing everyone how to hit the dougie. He was able to engage everyone on the dance floor without playing your typical wedding songs like the electric slide, the cha cha slide, or the Cupid shuffle (not that there’s anything wrong with that, we just personally wanted to hear songs that we grew up with and loved, and he curated a playlist that fit us and all of our wedding guest perfectly). Having an experienced and FUN, non-cheesy DJ is critical for your wedding day, and I cannot recommend him enough. If you’re a Gen Z / millennial who wants to have a memorable dance party, book Generation Y Entertainment NOW or you’ll regret it.

mails & phone calls - Caleb was not only the most professional person I've ever met, but he was funny and genuinely interested in us and our wedding. Caleb was EXCITED for us, to celebrate with us and that alone stood out to us as a differentiator. He wanted to truly understand our likes and dislikes, and he took the most care with the smallest details - things like making sure he pronounced all names correctly, both for us and our bridal party! As someone who has always had her name mispronounced, this detail was something that showed us just how exceptional Caleb was. For the wedding itself, Caleb was a superstar; every single one of our guests told us how enjoyable the music was and how much FUN they had. The way we had our flow of events for the reception, there were 3 hours straight for dancing after dinner, and Caleb played such a perfect playlist that nobody left the dance floor the entire time. In the words of our friends, the song list was "FIRE". Caleb was professional, respectful and downright fun to be around; we felt like we had both a vendor and a friend at our wedding, and we're just so appreciative of the relationship we formed, that helped make our wedding reception the most amazing evening.

beyond putting a personal touch on his services during our wedding. The little details like playing a special song during our first look, to giving our parents MOH and best man a heads up about when they were up for dances or toasts, and to making sure we were having a good time and had a drink in our hands. My brother who used to be a DJ said he would never go that far out of the way giving a heads up to guests and would just make the announcement calling on the mic whoever was needed. My husband at first even thought he worked at the wedding venue from how much Grayson was involved and made an impact. Do yourself a favor and hire these people!

Grayson had sent a GoogleDoc to fill out that had all the information needed for our ceremony and reception with ideas for songs as well. They were flexible when I did not think about timing and needed to add an hour. The day of Grayson was on time and dealt with the insane heat while setting up. Everyone said they could hear the ceremony so clear. Grayson was so awesome he even moved the dance floor to outside the barn because it was so hot in the barn. He was very professional but was also down to have a great time with us! I cannot recommend Generation Y Entertainment enough! If you are getting married in the St. Augustine area hire them-seriously you won’t regret it and they will give the best ceremony and reception!!!
