We used Carrie for our wedding, I must say it was a very poor experience. To start, I called Carrie hours before our wedding to go over everything.. This was my first conversation with her. I'll admit our wedding was short notice and very quickly planned due to unforseen problems...
In my initial call with Carrie she referred to my wife as a "cis" woman, Me as a "cis" male, And our marriage as a "cis" marriage... Not off to a great start.....
We don't care how other's live their lives, but referring to a normal, heterosexual couples as "cis" is completely rude and disrespectful.
Carrie then went on to explain to me that "cis" weddings are just guy's being "ken dolls" and showing up to weddings and taking pictures, while I am in the process of coordinating and setting up our entire wedding and reception...
Before our ceremony I had the chance to speak to Carrie, I voiced my opinion on weddings being way more than they are worth and let her know that my love for my wife is not dependent on the state or anyone's approval..
We had our ceremony and everything was aggressive mediocre... I told her not to mention anyone "giving us away". She didn't listen and proceeded to have moments of awkward silence while our friends and family looked on.
We were finally married and went about taking our pictures.... While taking our pictures Carrie interrupted us and said "I need the paperwork signed. I have other weddings to do."
WHILE WE ARE ENJOYING OUR FIRST MOMENTS OF MARRIAGE, TAKING PICTURES WITH FAMILY AND CELEBRATING, CARRIE DECIDED IT WAS A GREAT TIME TO ASK FOR PAYMENT AND FOR US TO SIGN PAPERWORK BECAUSE SHE WAS LATE FOR ANOTHER WEDDING! Our wedding was from 3-4.... This was at 3:30... Carrie then rushed us into signing our paperwork, resulting in me signing in the wrong spot.
Carrie then went on to not properly fill out the remaining paperwork and signed what she did with a made up term not recognized by the county clerks office..
The next Monday, we took our paperwork to the county building and were laughed out. We were told none of our paperwork was right and it would all need to be redone...
We then spent the second day of our marriage meeting up with our witnesses, having everyone resign and fixing what our "officiate" should of done in the first place....
We called Carrie and let her know we needed to meet with her to have her fix her mistakes... She asked to meet us after 5pm, given that we both had taken the day off work to get name changes, etc. We let her know that wasn't an option... We eventually met her at a coffee shop in Ferndale (she was 15 minutes late) but the paperwork was properly filled out finally, so we were happy.
That night we wrote a negative review on her Thumbtack. She responded by blaming me, refusing to accept responsibility and continuing to deny any wrong doing...
If I could give her negative stars, I would. Terrible experience. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!
