Over two months I emailed her three times (all her same email account) and texted her with no response. The week of the scheduled engagement photos I got nervous and called. No answer. When she called me back she said she was having technology issues for a few months with emails sorting and “automatically reading” so they were not in her inbox... this matched the technology issues she claimed to have with other brides so I wasn’t buying it. If your business relies on communication and computers for storage and editing why would you wait months to get them fixed.?! We canceled our contract and pointed it to her it was void because the first clause of her being professional was not fulfilled. Read he contract carefully if you go against advice because she tries to make you pay even if you cancel. We were not able to get our deposit back (we tried exposing the frustration and communication issues and then she got defensive, rude, and never emailed us again). Book someone else. Or risk losing the $1000 deposit. Or more.

aken a shift since all those glowing reviews from a couple years ago and before. We got married June 2017, we didn't get our pictures until mid December. We went with Genesa because she had awesome reviews. She was responsive and answered our questions promptly. As soon as we placed our deposit that all ended. It seems like some other couples have had the same issues. Her communication through email would go weeks unanswered and then we would send another email following up and it would be another week or two before she answered that. We expressed our concern with the lack of response early on and then she apologized and gave an explanation... ok so we gave it a pass. We booked her early so there was a period of time where there wasn't much to communicate about and then as the day got closer it started happening again but at this point it was too late to get a refund and find someone else. Wedding day went ok, there were a lot of shots we wanted but didn't get but I think that's on us too for not expressing it explicitly. However, I think a family picture with both parents, immediate family, and table photos, should be quite standard. Then here comes the worst part of all. In the contract it says the pictures should be ready in 8 weeks. We contacted her about a month and half after the wedding just to check the status. She says she was in the hospital so it will be a little delayed. Ok fine, we totally understand that. Months keep going by and she still does not have them, she is still not responding to emails very well and I even called her and left a message but she failed to even call me back. She did not even provide all the stuff on the contract like a usb thumbdrive with photos, we don't actually care about the usb but if its in your contract honor it. I contacted her about it and what do you know... no response. Sounds like she will only honor the contract if you try to back out and then she'll refer to the contract to keep the deposit. The pictures finally ended up getting posted in December after trying to contact her multiple times and they were just ok. If you know anything about photography... the picture quality is not what you expect from a professional photographer, the pictures have a lot of chromatic aberration, lack sharpness, and her editing needs work. Some of it has to do with the lenses she has probably. Lack of attention to detail in taking the actual photo is also evident. This is the only vendor we had problems with and would never recommend her to anyone.

nsiveness vanished. I sent her emails on 9/3 and 10/26 with STILL no response. My wedding planner emailed her on 12/8… no response UNTIL I sent her an email with the subject “Question – please respond”. Her response had no apology and it said, “We’ve been on vacation”. So, you’ve been on vacation since 12/8??? She did not send me an email warning me she was going to be unreachable until 16 days before my wedding! For the past 2 days I’ve tried to lock down a time to connect with only that 1 email as a response. So, I did what any logical bride would do – I found another photographer and asked for my money back. Genesa texted me that she would not give a refund… Keep in mind NO services have been rendered. We did not do engagement photos. I have not even had a telephone conversation with Genesa. She’s supposed to capture the love between my fiancé and I and she doesn’t even know my fiancé’s name and has given zero effort.… In a nutshell – Genesa was VERY responsive until she had our money. Then it was a classic bait and switch and all responsiveness went out the door.

I do not recommend that approach at all, but it had taken some time to convince him that it is worth the investment in a quality photographer, and by the time he came around- the photographer I had my eyes on was already booked on our date. However, I am in no way disappointed as that photographer recommended us to Genesa and she not only made herself available on the short notice, but she worked with us and our lack of foresight. We really didn't know what types of shots we wanted for our camping wedding out at Lake Cushman, but Genesa is extremely talented and captured the perfect fairy-tale photos for our fairy-tale wedding. We certainly didn't make it easy on her, what with being in the woods having mosquitoes buzzing around in the mid summer heat, but Genesa never complained once although we are still so sorry for the extra trouble. I can't state enough what a dream come true she is to us, very kind, patient, and above all artistically talented. We simply couldn't be happier, to have her photos to look at and reminisce on for the rest of our lives. If you are at all in doubt over which photographer to contact or how much you should be spending on wedding photos, let me assure you that you should contact Genesa right away in advance, and that the investment is worth it for the privilege of working with her and receiving the perfect memories she will be capturing for you. Genesa, once more, thank you forever & always with all our hearts. You truly are a superwoman with a camera, and we are so lucky to have you recommended to us!

She turned our low budget wedding into a stunning event by the way she captured each moment through her lens! Most of the day was a blur and I was so sad that I couldn't remember much of my special day but when Genesa told me my photos were ready....OMG! I cried do much! I was SO HAPPY! She had caught every moment, each memory with a click (or amillion clicks) and I was able to recall my wedding day! She is a gift! She not only documented our amazing day but she helped keep me calm at times and even helped me with things I had no idea how they were supposed to go. She made us all laugh, dealt with my crazy and obnoxious family and even made my camera shy husband loosen up!

Boy was I RIGHT! She totally BLEW my mind! She SURPASSED my hopes/expectations! Our wedding day was such a blur with all the events and the HEAT! It was the hottest day Washington seen last year! However, when Genesa showed us our pictures it all started coming back! I felt so beautiful and she was able to capture that feeling through her lens! Though I was dying of a heat stroke you would never know when looking at our photos! Not only did Genesa help us document our special day she was so calm and helpful! She dealt with our CRAZY and obnoxious family, made us all laugh and even got my camera shy husband to loosen up! YUP, Genesa is THE BEST out there! She is a very compassionate person and that compassion flows like a river into her work and you will feel wonderful working with her because of it. Some may think this isn't as important as the photograph, but I beg to differ. Anxiety, frustration, nervousness can all be read through expression and when those things are reduced, the expression in pictures is obvious. She also knows when and what to recommend for her shots. There were many times we were mystified by the choices she made when she was making them, but when we got the pictures back, my goodness, what incredible ideas they were and what beautiful pictures they created. She sees things you don't; trust her when she makes suggestions, you won't regret it. She is truly gifted; we love her. Genesa has an incredible pool of second shooters that work with her. She is very critical when it comes to second shooters and her choices are often commensurate with the personalities that are the subjects of her art, and they are always excellent at what they do. She will always capture your moments through her choices and her choices are much deeper than most people think. Lastly, Genesa is family to us. That is something that can't be explained or quantified. She just is. Through this process, we can very confidently say we have added a wonderful, loving friend to our family. She is always welcomed in our life, not because she is incredible wedding photographer, but because she is an incredible person. All this being said, I want to make sure not to overshadow her talent with the plethora of other great things about her. Genesa is one of the best photographers that I've ever met. Her choices for shots, equipment, perspective, scenery, poses (or not if she's capturing a moment), and timing are all in lockstep with each other and only the gifted can strap all of those together at one moment in time to take a picture. ike we were "In Love" the way most newly engaged couples do. Genesa was genuinely interested in our story and really helped us to relax. We never felt "posed" and she truly captured the love we have for each other. On our wedding day I kept adding more photo ideas and she happily did them, even if I did throw us off schedule a little. My ceremony was very non traditional and a little hectic, because we got married in the middle of Pike Place Market. There was no seating, no alter, no aisle. It was John and I surrounded by our kids, family, friends and curious tourist. Genesa just went with it and did an amazing job! Her assistant Toni is amazing too! I have only seen my sneak peak of John and I dancing on the cobble stone after the ceremony, but that one picture plus our amazing engagement photos has me extremely excited to see them all when she is done with them!

We had met with other photographers who seemed like they were selling something, but Genesa genuinely wanted to experience our wedding day with us and to capture the memories. Where the other photographers asked more impersonal questions, Genesa wanted to know Our Story. It was a fabulous first meeting and we only made it a block before we emailed her to confirm our date. During our engagement session, Genesa drove up to Seattle and then took pictures in multiple locations (including Alki, Pike's Market, and the Seattle Waterfront). In spite of the wind and crowds, the photos she took turned out perfectly. She quickly moved us from place to place and from photo to photo. Importantly, she made them available in an easy format that our families could look at and download. Genesa photographed our rehearsal dinner and wedding day, too. We had a large wedding and wedding party. She picked perfect locations for photos and kept our wedding party moving and focused on getting the pictures done in a reasonable time frame. She has released some photos to us (she is still working on some editing), but the ones she has sent are beautiful. Her style is artistic, yet personal, and it could not have been more perfect for us. We know that we made the absolute right choice in selecting Genesa, and we would recommend her to anyone and everyone. So. Again. Book Genesa. She's talented, professional, and great to work with. The only negative is that we will miss seeing her from time to time (though I'll definitely hire her to take photos of our babies if that is in the cards for us).

y as we had planned to get married outside on the lawn. As always though, it turned out absolutely perfect, and I have so many people to thank for that including Genesa. Prior to our wedding, Genesa was the only photographer my husband and I met with. We instantly fell in love with her portfolio and connected really well on a personal level as her husband is military like mine. We got married at a Christmas Tree Farm, and even though it was a down pour storm a good percentage of the day, we were able to find the perfect time slots to go out and take some fun pictures. Genesa had all sorts of ideas, she was super easy going and it was pretty obvious that it was not her first rainy wedding. She handled it all so well which made our day all the more stress-free and fun. We are so happy we had Genesa as a part of our big day. Her pictures are stunning, and are promised to make you smile. On the day of our wedding, she treked with us around downtown Seattle to multiple locations in nearly 95 degree weather to get enough shots! The pictures from the engagement and wedding turned out amazingly too. I don't think I have to say much about the quality of her photography since her pictures on her site and Facebook pretty much speak for themselves--I saw her work on a website and it was what prompted me to contact her in the first place. All in all, I'm extremely pleased and so happy to have had Genesa capture our special day in photo.

Genesa's photos. My husband and I got married on top of a mountain, with a storm rolling in, and she just went with it and kept us and the wedding party moving right along so we got all the photos we wanted. Not only did she get them all, but she NAILED it. While the location was beautiful and stunning, the coloring and lighting of her pictures only enhanced it's beauty. On an even more amazing note, she was so friendly to work with. I never felt rushed. She posed us with ease and made us laugh when I was getting a little too stressed out. She accepted my request to hang out with us for awhile at the reception. She was hand's down the best vendor of our wedding day. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone!

t and did not know what we would do so close to the wedding since it was during a holiday weekend. Meeting Genesa was the biggest blessing in disguise. My parents and I met up with her at Starbucks where we were able to see some of her work. After seeing three pictures we all were so in love with her and her work. We booked her that same night! We were fortunate enough to work with her before the wedding day with some engagement photos and she actually got my husband to participate and SMILE!!! Flash forward to the wedding day. She was the easiest and sweetest person to work with. We were a little delayed in our time schedule but they never made us feel rushed. otos so I messaged her about prices. We decided that she was out of price range since we were paying for our wedding ourselves. I started looking for other photographers and yet still following Genesa because I was just so in love with everything she was posting. I talked to my fiancé again about getting her as a photographer. I told him that this was the ONE thing I wanted to splurge on for the wedding. He agreed and told me we could use her. When I talked to Genesa, she was very understanding about prices. She worked with us with out payments for the first month or so until we paid her in full! She did our engagement session as well as our wedding photos. I have not had any problems with her at all. She is very caring and when she is shooting you can tell that she loves what she does. I didn't know where to go for our engagement session but I told her what I wanted the outcome to look like and she picked a beautiful place and made it happen as the sun was going down!! She followed our journey of being engaged and was so excited to be a part of our big day! When the day finally came I was so excited for her to be there with us! She had a second shooter, Toni. I didn't have much interaction with Toni since I was mainly with Genesa for pictures but all the boys were with her and they LOVED her!!! Genesa was also awesome with me and my girls. The whole wedding party loved her. They were both so creative with their shots. We had some sneak peaks of our wedding pictures and I just got half of them back today and OMG WE LOVE THEM!!! Our engagement session and wedding photos both couldn't have turned out better! I feel like I have know her my whole life. She has been so awesome with me and husband! I hope she continues photograph the rest of our happy times together!!! SHE IS AMAZING!!! Don't even think twice about hiring her. She wont disappoint you!! Photos are something you will be able to look back on for the rest of your life and its not something you want someone to mess up or forget to take a picture of something! OH... that reminds me. I didn't see Genesa take detail shots because I was busy getting ready. I thought she didn't get a picture of my shoes and garter up close but when I looked at the half she gave me today, they were there!!! I missed that at the wedding but I heard the story and now I have the pictures from it! Genesa is not just an amazing photographer that captures very moment that will take you back to that moment it happened, she cares. So many photographer's my sister and I talked to at the Wedding Expos really lacked that they cared. On my wedding day she provided a calming sence to the busy afternoon leading up to the ceremony. Not only was she my photographer she was someone to talk to, hair fixer, talked to the catering, and a friend. For weeks before everytime I was on the edge about something she was there to lend me tips from other brides or even her own experiences. After the wedding Genesa posts sneak peaks. I must say seeing all the other sneak peaks from weddings that she's done I was looking forward to seeing my own. When I saw them I was absolutely taken back. Her work is stunning. Having a rustic wedding I was say it was very rustic chic. But then she's done beach weddings and those photos looked very modern elegant. I loved what I saw in my photos. Genesa's work is stunning and every chance I get to talk about my wedding all I talk about is my photographer and the venue. To be honest the venue is always a venue the photographers make the venue amazing. The photographer has ideas and angles for the right shots. Theres hidden treasures that a photographer knows about. Genesa had done a wedding at my venue before and those photos left me speechless. Genesa and her work can go either direction like I said before. Chic to modern and everything in between. She knows what she is doing and her questions that you answer for her gives her the tools to provide you the most amazing photos. The thought and time that she puts in her photos I would wait however long I need to to have her be my photographer. Now I never plan to get married again but any photos I need done or want done she will be the first person I call. Thank you Genesa for always providing the most amazing photos that can be desired. s I knew I had found my photographer. I met up with Genesa at a coffee shop in Seattle and later that night decided to sign with her. She did our engagement photos on a very wet spring day and the photos turned out amazing. I was so excited for our big day from what I had seen. And our big day came and Genesa was just so much fun to work with and she knew what she was doing. She showed me pictures as she went and never did I have to ask well can we do this pose or that pose, she just knew exactly what to do. I highly recommend her, worth every penny we spent!

! Shade is your friend, as is the use of indoor spaces that are pretty trendy. Before the wedding, Genesa resolved my concerns about timelines and location and was pretty much awesome. She's quick to reply to e-mail, facebook, or text and I appreciated that. As soon I get my pictures back, (which I hear is soon), I'll update and move that service star to a 5! Choose Genesa. Her pictures are amazing and she gets things done.

Usually I feel awkward in front of the camera, but Genesa made me feel comfortable and was so much fun to work with. She has great ideas of poses and an eye for creating gorgeous images. aptures the essence of important moments. I wanted this for my wedding because I didn't want to regret not having beautiful wedding pictures to display in our home and in an album. The hiring and contract process was really easy and non-stressful. She also allowed us to pay in two installments. Genesa is based out of Washington State and I live in Texas. Her quoted price to me included hotel and plane fare and a second shooter. With all of these "extras," her price was still VERY reasonable, especially for the quality of shots I was expecting from her. Genesa took the time to get to know my fiance and I through facebook and a thorough questionnaire. Please take the time to fill this out, if you hire her! It really helps her get a feel for what you want, and being able to put it down on paper is super helpful when you are flitting all over the place as a stressed out bride. Genesa gently reminded me several times to get the questionnaire back to her, because she REALLY wants to provide her clients with the best possible service. My wedding was supposed to be outdoors, in south Texas. Of course, in the middle of a drought, it would rain ALL DAY on my wedding. The wedding was moved indoors. I didn't get the sunset shots or outdoor wedding photos I had dreamed of, but I wish I could show you what she did with what we had to work with. We had a 15 minute break in the rain and she rushed us outside and she got pictures I turned around and ordered on a gallery canvas! She took a dreary, rainy, gray skies day, put it in the background and made us shine. It was phenomenal. I was terribly cold and uncomfortable but she kept smiling and gently pushing me to take a few more photos outside. I'm so glad she did. Our photos are so beautiful. We did not have a videographer at our wedding, but Genesa took so many pictures that we practically didn't need one. We have the wedding start to finish. Genesa sent me the images and a release to have them printed however I wanted. (This was included in her price quote.) She delivered sneak peeks via facebook that made me squeal and delivered the images about a month after the wedding. I was so excited to get them so quickly that I literally ripped the package open. Even though my wedding was not exactly how I imagined it, Genesa made magic out of something that could have been miserable. She is in tune to the needs of her clients and very easy to work with. r got engaged a month after my friends wedding. I was so excited when my she decided to hire Genesa as well. She did a wonderful job. All of my sister's photos are stunning. She is still having a hard time deciding which ones to print, there are too many great options. I can't wait until I get married so Genesa can capture all the special moments of my big day =)
