Classic Package: Month of Planning + Day of Coordination (suitable for 4-6 weeks prior to wedding date) Because I had already booked my venue, photographer/videographer, & photbooth in advance, I only needed Partial wedding planning help so we decided to go with the Marvel Package. I'm already a super type-A meticulous planner, so I didn't need too much help with finding all of our vendors and planning timelines/checklists, but I really needed help with some of the smaller details and expertise of someone who's in the industry. I also wanted to make sure everything fell into place on the day-of so I could just relax and enjoy the moment. But most importantly, it was super crucial for me to get an Asian Wedding planner, particularly one that spoke Cantonese. My husband's family was Toisan/Cantonese speakers with limited English speaking abilities and my family was Korean but spoke English. As you can imagine, communication was a bit of a challenge for us, and to pull off something as large as a wedding, we definitely needed a translator/interpreter to be on our side. *Enter Shirley Chau from Genesis Weddings.* Most of our timeline and details were falling into place, but I needed Shirley's guidance on finding an MC/DJ, hiring Flower & Decor services, and locking down a Limo/Shuttle Bus Driver. Shirley provided all of her recommended vendors with pricing options and we ended up going with all of her recommendations - most of which had very reasonable prices and beat out the vendor prices I had come across in my own research. Shirley was friendly and accommodating, remaining flexible as needed, and offered meeting times that suited our work schedule. As the days got closer to the wedding date, Shirley really kicked it into high gear and her true colors truly shined the week of the wedding - especially on the big day! I was truly able to relax and sit back while Shirley handled all of the little details as she gracefully coordinated all of the vendors and bridal party members. Shirley went above and beyond to make my husband's family feel comfortable, communicating along the way and catering to their needs throughout the day. She even took the lead and helped us run the Chinese Tea Ceremony, which we were super grateful for because neither of us really knew what to do. She really made sure all of the flowers and decor were top-notch, ensuring the team at Jelo Flower & Decor was placing items in the right places, and even going above and beyond to add a few extra decorative elements and surprises free of charge that we were super grateful for! If you book Shirley for event planning services, I highly recommend also booking her partner company, Jelo Flower & Decor, as it makes for an incredibly seamless interaction and one less random vendor to have to rally and control. I can't recommend Shirley at Genesis Weddings highly enough. Make sure you book her as early as you can as she only takes a few clients per year and the spots fill up fast!
