We hosted our Indian Haldi ceremony at the beautiful Ann Mason Hall and Courtyard, and it couldn’t have been a more perfect venue. The lush, enclosed courtyard provided an elegant backdrop that felt truly royal, while the hall itself was ideal for our cultural celebrations and a sumptuous lunch for nearly one hundred guests. It was an unforgettable occasion, with family and friends traveling from dozens of U.S. states and several countries overseas. What made the experience especially seamless was the outstanding support from Nicole and Britt, whose responsive and thoughtful communication guided us every step of the way. Because our event required multiple walkthroughs for the decorator, florist, performers, and caterer, the hall staff’s professionalism made all the difference. They consistently ensured we had the right access and information to design the perfect celebration. And in the end—it truly was perfect!

George Mason's Gunston Hall is ideal for couples seeking a tranquil place to exchange their vows and can accommodate events with up to 125 guests seated inside. The historic mansion boasts an exposed red brick exterior, which makes for a rustic background for your romantic photo sessions. Your reception can take place in the visitor's center’s main indoor ballroom, The Ann Mason Room. Your guests will be free to dine and dance the night away in this spacious, versatile location. Adjacent to the ballroom is a large prep kitchen for your catering team to use. The private courtyard features a lush lawn area for you to enjoy your cocktail hour under the sun. Guston Hall is also surrounded by miles of relaxing hiking trails, for you to enjoy the beauty of the terrain with your loved ones. A staff member will be present throughout your planning process, to ensure that you have a stress-free and joyful journey to the altar. y, but Nicole was able to recommend a tent rental just in case. Our guests were able to tour the home. Thanks to having a large full service kitchen, our caterer was able to offer a delicious meal which she said she couldn't offer had we chosen somewhere with a small kitchen. Tables and chairs were provided. We had a perfect day and the grounds allowed for gorgeous pictures. Having free, plentiful parking was another wonderful bonus. I highly recommend Gunston!

The price is great and we found the flexibility to DIY a lot of the wedding details (linens, catering, alcohol) really wonderful. I would say the one big con is that there's not a built-in rain day indoor space for the ceremony, so we did have to gamble on a tent deposit!

sty we didn't seriously consider any other venue. Gunston Hall stole our hearts! All of our guests thought the property was beautiful, and Nicole went above and beyond to help us. We had our ceremony in the afternoon, and right after the ceremony ended we were able to take photos inside the historic house itself. Once we were done with photos inside the house, our guests could take a tour of the house before going to the courtyard for a cocktail hour while the bride and groom took more couple photos outside among the beautiful trees. To go back to the planning, Nicole met with us several times in the course of our engagement, helped us figure out the best place to hold the various parts of our day (we did both our ceremony and reception on site), was incredibly responsive via email, and helped with set-up and breakdown of our wedding. We had our wedding ceremony outside under the big oak tree, cocktail reception in the courtyard, and dinner inside in the Ann Mason Room. The weather cooperated and we were able to have everything go as planned, but it was reassuring to know that there was a viable indoor option if we needed to move the ceremony inside.
