We used Danielle for our engagement photos and our wedding day and couldn't have been happier with the final product! Danielle is so easy to work with- she is very responsive and called me quickly after my initial inquiry to get to know us and discuss what we were looking for. Danielle is a true professional and clearly very experienced in what she does- from guiding us into various poses and setting up unique shots, to getting our list of "must have shots" and specific people we wanted to make sure were in our pictures, to helping organize our guests the day off- I was so surprised with how quickly and efficiently we got our post-ceremony pictures done so that we could enjoy the time with our guests! We got our pictures back quickly and the platform to view and download was very easy to use. It can be so overwhelming to choose each vendor for your big day and it was so important to us that we chose a photographer that understood what we were looking for, was experienced, kind and produces high quality work- I am so glad we chose Danielle!

We hired Danielle for our October 2023 wedding. We always knew we were going to hire her because she has taken amazing family portraits for us in the past and also shot engagement photos for us. When it came to our wedding day, unfortunately, it rained most of the day and we weren’t able to take the photos we hoped to take outside. Danielle didn’t hesitate to offer to come back to our venue after our wedding day to have a private photo shoot and get all the photos we had missed. Danielle was very attentive and made sure she didn’t miss any photos from our shot list. Danielle has a calming nature and is so personable. We wouldn’t have wanted to hire any other photographer to shoot our day. We highly recommend her, we love her!

We hired Danielle to be the photographer for our September 2023 vineyard/winery wedding in Geneva, New York. From the beginning, Danielle was a pleasure to work with; getting back to us promptly with any questions we may have and helping when it came to the timeline details the day of. As my husband and I live out of state, we met Danielle in person for the first time on our wedding day. She had a calm, warm, and friendly attitude that made it very easy to work with her despite it being our first meeting. We gave her a list of shots we wanted, but she also had a lot of great suggestions of her own. This was our first time having professional photos of this nature done, and she did a great job of both letting us do our own thing and suggesting various poses. Danielle was on time, prepared, and had good energy for the entire 8 hours we had her. We received our full set of edited photos just over 2 weeks after the wedding and we couldn't be more pleased with the results - they are stunning! I highly recommend Gerritsen Photography!

Danielle was everything we were looking for in a wedding photographer. She listened to what we were asking for and really took the time to make sure we got what we wanted. She has such a sweet personality and we could not recommend her enough!

I cannot recommend Danielle enough!! She was kind, accommodating, responsive, and an amazing photographer to work with! Our photos came out STUNNING. I could not have asked for a better person to work with; my husband and I are not the most photogenic of people nor do we know how to pose for pictures at all, and Danielle made us feel so comfortable and got amazing shots. I presented her with quite the challenge of having to organize and take a lot of family photos (I have a huge family and my husband has a blended family, so there were lots of photos needed) and she didn't skip a beat and handled it with grace. I am so grateful we had Danielle capturing our special day! Every single photo turned out absolutely stunning. We had an outstanding experience working with Danielle--who helped us with both a small, COVID-style wedding in 2021 and again at the delayed celebration in summer 2022. We worked with Danielle for our September wedding and could not be happier with our photos! Danielle was very easy to work with and kept in touch throughout the planning process, making sure she knew exactly what we wanted on our wedding day and helped us create a timeline. During our wedding, Danielle did not stop working once! She photographed every detail. When we were done with wedding party photos she took the opportunity to get great photos of our ceremony and reception sites before guests arrived. We were pleasantly surprised with all of the angles she captured during our ceremony, she must have never stopped moving around to get the best shot! During the reception she must have went up and down the barn stairs a hundred times so she could photograph everyone. She got our photos to us in great time and every single one looks stunning.

Danielle was one of the best parts of our wedding day! She did an engagement shoot for us as well. Not only is she an amazing photographer, but she also knows exactly what prompts and poses will look the best and put the participants at ease. Danielle was an amazing photographer for our June 2021 wedding. She was a breeze to work with both in planning and on the day of the wedding. She was well-prepared, had a calming presence, and gave (much needed) direction to the group in a clear and polite manner. Her pictures, memorabilia box, and album were beautiful and delivered promptly. Danielle went above and beyond when our first-look location fell through a few days before the wedding. She contacted multiple personal network connections and arranged an alternate venue that was even better than our original location. We had a great experience with Danielle for our engagement photos. Communication before the photos was easy. We exchanged contact information, discussed locations, and sent inspiration photos. We took our pictures at a winery, and Danielle found a few great locations around the property that we hadn't even noticed before. She gave us some guidance on how to pose, but for the most part let us be ourselves. She also helped us include our puppy in a few pictures, which we loved! Danielle told us she would have the photos to us in about two weeks, and we ended up receiving them about a week and a half later. The pictures came out beautifully, and we could really see why she suggested certain spots and poses. We also really liked that she included 2-3 different edits for most of the photos. Overall, we had a great experience taking our engagement photos with Danielle, and would gladly recommend her!

Danielle was very helpful and flexible with our schedule and wants for our engagement pictures. She made us feel very comfortable and provided guidance with shots, but felt very natural at the same time. Would absolutely use her again!

Months later and we still have people reaching out to us raving over our beautiful photos that Danielle captured at our wedding in Canandaigua, New York. Danielle was wonderful throughout the entire experience, from Zoom calls mid pandemic trying to navigate what the day will actually look like, to capturing incredible moments the day of. She was always accessible, listened intently to what we were looking for in our photos, and over all just a joy to work with. To have someone so calming and gentle during an exciting, albeit stressful and vulnerable day, was such a comfort for us. She accurately captured the photos we were envisioning, and brought her own unique talent of reading the moment and finding the perfect image - not only as a photographer reading the lighting and scenery, but also reading people. She could tell when my husband and I were “fading” and our smiles becoming stiff- knowing to encourage us to eat, have a drink, and overall enjoy ourselves! I am so grateful for all that Danielle did to make our big day that much more memorable. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to capture their own moment, whatever it may be.

We absolutely loved working with Danielle! Neither my husband nor I like to be the center of attention and Danielle did an amazing job making us feel comfortable and natural. We worked with Danielle for both engagement and wedding day photos. We love all of our photos and got so many compliments. Many of our guests also commented that Danielle caught so many amazing moments without being intrusive. She gave us all the photos we asked for while also making suggestions given her expertise - they are some of our favorites! She is also a lighting and editing master - we loved the final product. Danielle is amazing! She was easy to work with when we postponed our 2020 wedding, even reaching out to us on our original date sending well wishes. Our engagement pictures were stunning. Unfortunately, the morning of our wedding, we got a call from Danielle that she had a family emergency. Before she called us (at about 6am) she already had a back up photographer booked and on their way to us! We were so sad Danielle couldnt shoot our wedding, but her professionalism is unparalleled. She still edited our pictures and had them back to us in 2.5 weeks, which is unheard of. I cant wait to use Danielle for maternity and new born pictures in the near future!!

Danielle was an excellent communicator and very flexible with my wedding, which was planned within the span of 2 months. I had a small wedding with 12 guests and although the ceremony was brief she was able to brilliantly capture very special moments! She was generous with her time and accommodated us at a separate location from our ceremony. Her photos are beautiful and an incredible value for her talent.

Danielle was incredible from start to finish!! I had never planned a wedding before so I had no idea what I was doing and she really stepped up and helped me figure out the timeline of our day and make a plan, which I really needed! After that, she was insanely flexible the day of with all of the things that pop up too! For example, my husband's grandma couldn't walk to the original spot we wanted to go for pictures, so Danielle found a wonderful backdrop that was more accessible to her. My husband was especially grateful that she had so many ideas of poses and tips to help us all look our best and not feel awkward taking photos. He and his groomsmen all had a blast taking pictures with her, so that was amazing. She was seriously everywhere during the actual wedding ceremony/reception too. My parents even noticed that anytime they thought "Hey, that'd be a cute picture," Danielle was already there. I am so grateful that she was there to capture every single moment of our day. Several DAYS after the wedding she had some sneak peek pictures for us, then just a few short weeks we had all of our pictures!! I could not believe how quick her turnaround was, especially for the amount of pictures we had! Danielle was incredible and I hope you book her, not only did she capture my wedding beautifully but she was so incredibly helpful with planning details/times/etc!

Danielle is a fierce one woman show with so much talent. Her work is beautiful! She did such an incredible job on our wedding day.  We had the pleasure of working with Danielle in October 2021. Even in the face of all of the pandemic craziness and rescheduling (we had to set three dates!), Danielle was extremely supportive and accommodating. She was always prompt to respond to my emails and panicked questions when it came to COVID issues. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Danielle is clearly a seasoned professional, which is not something that should be taken for granted. Now having gone through the wedding planning stress, I am so grateful to have had a photographer who knew exactly what we would want for our finished product.  She made us feel so comfortable and worked tirelessly for us all day, suggesting poses, locations, etc. She was very good at giving us directions that made all of our photos feel like us. She really captured the love we felt. Danielle shared a few stunning sneak peaks in the week following, which we were extremely grateful for. We then received a user friendly online portal to view and download our photos, as well as a USB with all of the files. We have so many beautiful shots, I don't even know which ones to frame! Overall, Danille is AMAZING! If she is available for your date, don't hesitate to book her.

Danielle did our wedding photos and she was amazing to work with! We were nervous we would feel awkward but taking the photos felt like we were doing something with a friend - who also gives slight direction to help make your pictures look great. She was very responsive to all of our questions and was more than willing to meet with us to do a walk through at our wedding venue. Her photos are spectacular and she took all the pictures we asked for. Our day was super windy and chilly, and she stayed positive the whole time. She was also very timely with getting photos back to us. Look no further - hire Danielle!

From the first time I met Danielle I knew she was the person I wanted to photograph my wedding. She was willing to listen to everything we wanted and also help us figure out the best way to get what we wanted. She was quick to respond to emails and phone calls. We had several meetings to go over all the details. On the day of the actual wedding she was so helpful and made me feel comfortable throughout the evening. She asked us the kinds of photos we wanted and made sure to do those and then she also added in her own style which I loved! After the wedding was over in less then a week we got a sneak peak of some of the photos she took which were amazing! And in less than a month we had all of our photos! Danielle was super personable and made our wedding feel so special. I would hire her again for other types photos.

Danielle could not have been more accommodating after we asked her to photograph our elopement during the COVID-19 pandemic, in December 2020. From our first phonecall with her, she assuaged all our worries about the logistical details and was extremely flexible in her approach. On the day itself, it was just her and us and she made us feel very comfortable. Neither of us are pros in front of the camera but, with Danielle's direction, the shoot turned into a lot of fun and we looked great! The photos are better than we could have possibly hoped for and Danielle was kind enough to send us copies in multiple formats.

Danielle was AMAZING!!!! She did an engagement photo shoot with us in the arboretum in Ithaca. She was easy to work with and flexible in her timing with our jobs. Honestly, we were a little nervous about "posed" pictures and that we would look and feel awkward, but it was a seamless and fun evening! She made us feel comfortable and we spent a lot of time laughing with her! And of course, the pictures turned out beautiful! We would definitely choose her as our wedding photographer if she were closer for our big day!

Danielle was AMAZING to work with from start to finish! Our original 150+ August 2020 Finger Lakes wedding had to be re-worked due to COVID-19 into a micro-wedding with just 16 total people. When I reached out to Danielle about this, she had no problem with changing our original package to an hourly package (and we still got edited photos!) so we could cover our details, ceremony, family formals, and part of our reception (to get shots of cake cutting and toasts). We received all the photos back WAY earlier than expected, which was great and they turned out so beautifully! I'm so happy with how they turned out and that we didn't cancel having a photographer this year! Leading up to the wedding, Danielle was super responsive and always happy to answer any questions I had. She was fantastic to work with the day of and was super organized. Danielle is so sweet and I am so glad that we're able to work with her again for our 2021 planned reception!

Danielle was so easy to work with. We were in the finger lakes for the weekend and it was going to rain the day we chose so she recommended postponing which was a relief and I was so glad she was flexible. I had worked with Danielle for senior pictures and family pictures before, so when we got engaged she was one of the first people we contacted. She’s very responsive and flexible – we had a few ideas about places we wanted to take pictures at and ended up changing a couple of things the day of due to weather, and she also ended up staying at the reception later than planned. She was great at giving direction while still making us feel completely comfortable and natural in front of the camera. It was unseasonably cold the day of our wedding, and very windy in one of the spots we wanted to take pictures at, and she was constantly checking in to make sure we were still comfortable, not too cold, etc. She also took some gorgeous pictures in our church that were just as beautiful as our outdoor pictures, and captured some incredible candid photos throughout the day in addition to the formal ones. There were several couples at our wedding who had used her at their own weddings, and they were all so excited to see her! We also chose to have a second photographer to photograph the groom getting ready and the ceremony, and she was awesome as well! We are so happy with the way our pictures came out and the beautiful moments they captured, and would recommend anyone planning a wedding to book with Danielle!

Danielle is AMAZING - I can't recommend her enough. I am blown away by the sheer artistic beauty and quality of the photos Danielle captured on our wedding day. We had an outdoor wedding in the fall at Cayuga Nature Center. The way our event was laid out required Danielle to capture moments under many completely different conditions, from shady forest clearings, to shining full sun, to night time with poor quality/unflattering LED lighting. Somehow, she didn't miss one single amazing minute of our celebration and even with all those challenging conditions, everyone looks amazing and the lighting is perfect. I get chills when I see her photos of our ceremony, taken from all angles including some unbelievable close-ups of our faces during our vows. Guests have complimented how they never noticed that she was there during the ceremony and she did not create a distraction at all, but somehow she captured the expression on our faces so perfectly. She remembered every shot I asked her to try to get during our bride-groom session, and kept everyone on track during the group formals without subtracting from anyone's fun. She captured photos of so many of our guests that they will cherish forever., not just the bridal party. Thank you SO MUCH, Danielle, for these memories we will enjoy for the rest of our lives. Danielle was the photographer for my wedding on July 6, 2018. She did an AMAZING job capturing all of the special moments. She created the most beautiful photos for my husband and me and our friends and family. She was very discrete throughout the day and I hardly noticed her, but she was keeping up with the pace of the reception and even let us know when the sunset was perfect for a mini photoshoot after dinner. She also not only made the formal portraits absolutely gorgeous, but she knew exactly how to do posed "candid" photos for my husband and me that came out STUNNING! I am so thankful that Danielle was a part of our wedding and I have these beautiful memories captured perfectly. I HIGHLY recommend Gerritsen Photography!!

Danielle is the best! She truly captured the feeling of our wedding day with her photos. Neither myself or my husband are very comfortable in front of the camera, but she directed us well and always seemed to be in good position to take the perfect candid shots during the rest of the night. She’s also a sweet person and even offered to help with random tasks (putting boutonnières on the guys, fixing my dress, etc). She was wonderful to have around at the wedding!

Danielle was super professional, punctual, kind, did exactly what I asked her to do, and very flexible. Her pics were well taken , I have access to all of them she even sent me a usb of them all. She works hard to get a quick turnaround of your photos and will photoshop the ones that need some work so you will get exactly what you want to capture your day!

Having Danielle capture our wedding was one of the best decisions we made for the day of. I don’t think I would have made it through the day without her. My husband and I planned our wedding from Florida and didn’t meet Danielle until the day of the wedding and yet she had a way of making us feel so comfortable. My husband isn’t always photogenic (he gets nervous in front of a camera) but Danielle made him feel at ease that she was able to capture my favorite photos of him. I may be biased but they really can be in a magazine. I don’t think I can say enough wonderful things about her. Honestly you won’t be disappointed in booking her.

As others have said...stop reading this review and go book Danielle now! Danielle was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was responsive and lovely to speak to during the planning process -- she has a really nice, calming way about her. She was always happy to talk things through with me and answer any questions, no matter how silly! The day of the wedding was no different. Danielle was prompt (even early) and immediately went to work snapping pictures, based on the shot list we had worked on in advance. She blended in to the background -- not one of those wedding photographers who always seems to be in the middle of everything. She captured every picture we wanted, and so many more. She did an excellent job of keeping in touch with us throughout the evening, suggesting when it might be nice to go grab some golden hour shots, and noting when we were 15 minutes out from her departure time so we could get any last photos in. We received our wedding photos (all 1700 of them!!!) 3 weeks to the day after our wedding. And if you've heard horror stories from other brides you know how quick that is! They are absolutely stunning and we couldn't be happier with them. I remember reading a review of Danielle when I was selecting a photographer, and the bride said that she couldn't imagine going through her wedding day without Danielle. I'll admit, I thought that was a little silly when I read it. Well, guess what? I couldn't agree more now! Seriously, go book Danielle immediately!

Danielle was such a warm and kind presence on on my wedding day. She truly captured the joy and happiness of the celebration without be intrusive. Danielle's responsiveness to communication put me at ease while preparing for the wedding, and I truly appreciated her phone call the day before to go over any last minute details. My wedding photographs came incredibly fast, and I appreciated the care in which she took the photos. She was able to take my vision for the wedding photographs and turn it into a reality (not something easy to do, and I found it hard to put my vision into words!). Danielle's prices are extremely fair for the quality of her work and her quick responses to any and all form for communication with her. She is simply phenomenal and anyone would be lucky to work with her. I wish there were more than 5 stars to give Danielle because she truly deserves it. My wedding day would not have been the same without her, and I am so fortunate to have her document my big day.

Engagement photos—Danielle was absolutely amazing! She did our engagement photos and I couldn’t have imagined anything better! I had a Pinterest board I shared with her and she did a fabulous job reviewing it and knowing exactly what kind of photos I wanted. I am a very picky about what I look like in photos and I loved every one!!! Hands down the best experience. She was not pushy, she shared her own insights and thoughts, but let us do whatever we wanted! I could go on and on about how wonderful Danielle was. It will be the best decision you make! She is amazing!!

Danielle was a wonderful presence at my wedding. Not only did she take fantastic pictures, she also provided the calm to my storm during the actual wedding. She was thorough, encouraging, creative, and very very sweet. She is very self directed and followed all requests of pictures I asked for. Danielle was amazing to work with. She was flexible with our schedule to meet throughout the planning process and had us think about the types of shots we wanted on our wedding day. On the day of, Danielle was able to get every shot we requested (she kept the list with her). She also was able to steal us away for a bit so we could get some alone time and pictures of the sun setting. She is great at capturing your day from all angles and we love the online gallery, it makes it easy to download everything. Danielle was absolutely amazing! She is so kind and creative, it was hard to pick our favorite pictures as we had over 1,400 to choose from! Communicating with her was so easy and she was such a joy to work with. She made me feel so beautiful and we had so much fun with her! Danielle was WONDERFUL on our wedding day! She jumped into the day's festivities right away and knew exactly what to do. She was able to gracefully take charge of our crazy, fun wedding party and let everyone know what to do and where to go. Danielle stayed calm, cool, and confident the entire day which made my husband and I rest easy and know everything was taken care of. All of our pictures looked natural and nothing was forced. Danielle was so wonderful in terms of working with us before, during and after our wedding to make sure we captured all the memories we wanted. In terms of the wedding itself, she was always right there ready to take photos, not only during the big important moments, but during the smaller, easily-missed moments. Not to mention, the pictures are GORGEOUS, and we are so happy with how they came up.

Danielle is a wonderful parter to work with on your big day! She was easy to work with, especially from the perspective of planning a wedding remotely. Danielle gave us a sneak peak of photos so swiftly, a CD copy of photos and digital gallery. She was so kind to our guests, something that really meant a lot to me. She made my husband, who generally doesn't like posed photos, so comfortable that he actually enjoyed taking photos, even without meeting with her beforehand. Two days prior to the wedding she made it a point to get in touch with me and discuss how the potential rain would affect our wedding and even brought along a umbrella to incorporate in our photos. She was incredibly professional, well-equipped, and so unobtrusive that I actually lost track of her for a while just to turn and see her photographing the moments that mattered most to us! Out of all the stresses of a wedding, I knew that I was in great hands with Gerritsen Photography and didn't worry about the quality one bit. She is simply the best!

Danielle was an absolute pleasure to work with. My fiancee and I worked with her for our engagement photos, and they came out amazing! I was initially very nervous because I had never been in a photo shoot, but Danielle made it fun and stress free. We did not pose unnaturally, but when we saw the photos Danielle somehow made them look like we were models! :) We got a lot of compliments from everyone! We would have loved to book her for our wedding, but she was already booked a year ahead. Definitely book her early!

Danielle is a wonderful photographer and a truly lovely person. She made everything so easy from us, from the initial contact through finalizing the wedding album. We ended up with 1,400+ photographs organized into ceremony, formal portraits, reception, etc., so they were easy to sort through. The photos themselves are wonderful - no forced smiles or stiff poses - everyone is relaxed and very much themselves, but all the shots are flattering at the same time. Danielle coached us through some great poses outside with the changing colors of the leaves prominently featured and those became some of our favorite pictures. She also captured some fantastic moments on the dance floor and of course during the ceremony; we couldn't be happier.

Working with Danielle throughout the entire wedding planning process and wedding day was incredible. My parents and I had the opportunity to meet with Danielle a few months before the wedding; her calm and warm demeanor along with her expertise were clearly apparent. Her reputation preceded her as we met with vendors - we felt so lucky to have her! During the wedding day, she was non-intrusive, but also gave great suggestions for shots that turned out absolutely gorgeous. She was familiar with the venue and knew the best spots for photos before, during, and after the ceremony. She was very accommodating with our crazy jam-packed wedding schedule. The turnaround time for the photos was very quick as well. We absolutely LOVED Danielle and hope that you will feel the same!

Danielle was such a pleasure to work with throughout the process. She was extremely responsive, easy to talk to and bounce ideas off of and she truly wanted to make sure she accommodated our day exactly how we envisioned it. She encouraged me to send along sample pictures and lists of particular shots which helped to keep us organized the day of. In addition, our guests couldn't stop talking about how she floated around the venue to capture so many moments. She was not "in your face" like other photographers, she never got in the way of our guests and it was crazy how many places she seemed to be at one time. Even when I pulled her to capture a certain real-time shot, she always seemed to be right by our side ready to go! We are so happy that she was part of our amazing day and look forward to staying in touch through her journey!

Danielle was amazing to work with from the first meeting right up until after the wedding when it was time to sort through all of the great photos. She is incredibly creative, personable, and patient which made it easy for my husband and I to relax and truly enjoy the day. Some of my favorite photos were the candids she captured. I would highly recommend Gerritsen Photography to any bride and groom!
