Susan is amazing! From our first meeting to our wedding day, she was extremely helpful, patient, thoughtful, and dedicated to making sure the day looked exactly as we wanted it to. When I first toured Susan’s collection, I was in AWE at how much she had to offer. There were items to rent that I hadn’t even considered until I saw her space. I simply told her my color palate/theme and she found the perfect items.
We rented lounge furniture, accent tables, a rug, and dessert platters. She has such an amazing eye and knew exactly what would work well in the Mercantile Hall spaces.
It was such a weight off my shoulders knowing that Gertrude and Evelyn would take care of the rental set up/take down, too. One less thing that I needed to worry about!
I would recommend Susan with G&E 10 out of 10 times! Not only did she supply the most beautiful pieces, but she might be one of the kindest people I’ve ever met! She goes above and beyond for her couples & that’s what a wedding season is all about ❤️

She spent so much time answering questions, walking us through options, and making adjustments based on our preferences. No matter how many ideas or changes we threw her way, she was always willing to help us find the perfect fit and showed us numerous options to make sure everything felt just right.
Not only was the service exceptional, but her pricing was also extremely reasonable, especially considering the quality and selection she offers. One of the biggest benefits of renting was knowing we wouldn't be stuck trying to sell wedding items on Facebook Marketplace afterward. It saved us so much time, stress, and storage space.
Everything looked beautiful on our wedding day, and the rental process was seamless from start to finish. We are so grateful for Susan's expertise, flexibility, and kindness throughout the planning process. We offer gorgeous, upholstered furniture, vintage farm tables for dessert set up and sweetheart table, in various sizes and styles, candles, vintage dinnerware and silverware, and many one-of-a-kind pieces.
We also have buffets, dressers, trunks, and crates. To add a more intimate, romantic ambiance, we offer glass pillars, votive holders in various styles, and floating candles in various sizes, and pillar candles in a range of heights. We offer many accent pieces such as gold mirrored trays, silver trays, tiered stands, vintage glass cake stands, glass dessert trays, and many more vintage accessories!
Our Vintage Dinnerware and Silverware are a beautiful mix of patterns, and can serve 200 guests!
For those that prefer the more rustic look, we offer pieces from cherry wood slices to metal buckets, wood crates, burlap table runners, and tool boxes, canning jars, and more.

Antique collecting, meeting and making people happy, and creating beautiful spaces are all things that I love to do! Gertrude & Evelyn's name came from two Grandmother's, and was the perfect choice for my business, Gertrude & Evelyn Vintage Rentals. For over forty years I have been an Interior Designer, ten years ago I started G & E, and for my whole life I have been collecting antiques. Working this biz is fun, at times exhausting, but always, it's the best! When I do take some time for me, I love to bike ride, do aqua Zumba, and of course, search for pieces to add to my inventory.

Pick-up after the wedding was just as smooth, everything felt organized and well taken care of. I really appreciated how reliable and professional she was throughout the entire process.
Another bonus: she’s located very close to the Mercantile Hall, where my wedding was held, which made it even more convenient. She even offered to step in if we needed anything extra that day, such a lifesaver!

You really have to go in and take a peek... it was so much fun looking at everything and choosing the right decor for our daughter and son in law's wedding!
Susan is more than accommodating. Anything I would ask her she gave me her expert opinion and I appreciated that so very much. With her suggestions, we opted for the beautiful different styles of dinnerware and china and it was definitely the best choice. So elegant and classy! Susan really made everything so easy for all of us. I am the mother of the bride and with Susan's expertise and eye for decorating, she made my daughter and son in law's wedding their dream come true.

The items we rented truly pulled everything together, and the pillar candles added the perfect ambiance to our space. Mercantile Hall is gorgeous on its own, and the pieces we chose from Gertrude & Evelyn complemented it beautifully without overwhelming the natural charm of the venue.
Susan went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. When she realized there was an extra table we hadn’t accounted for, she immediately ran back to her office to grab more pillar candles to complete the look. Her attention to detail and dedication made all the difference. We are so grateful for Susan’s creative touch and the gorgeous pieces that made our day even more magical. Thank you so much, Susan!

When we first met with her we told her the vibe we were going for and she recommended a few pieces (couches, tables, etc) which we said yes to. We also told her we weren’t quite sure how we were going to display our desserts for our dessert bar and she created a mock table of different pieces we could use and it was beautiful. It was so amazing to see everything come to life on our wedding day. Working with her was so easy and Susan and her team set everything up the day of the wedding and took it down after. Highly recommend working with Susan!!

I am not from the Burlington area but she was more than willing to make a time work when I was in the area for me to take a look at the rental pieces. When I was at the shop looking at all of the furniture and other wedding decor with no clear idea what I was looking for exactly, I told her my vision and she helped put pieces together that were stunning and fit exactly what I was looking for.
