Congratulations on your engagement! I'm Nathan Gifford, an ordained wedding officiant based in Kingsport, Tennessee, and I'd be honored to marry you. I became an officiant because I love the moment two people look at each other and say "I do." This isn't a side gig I fell into, it's the best part of my week, every week. In 2026 alone I've married couples on mountaintops, in barns, at farms, and in gardens, and every single ceremony was written from that couple's own story. HOW IT WORKS We start with a relaxed conversation about you two: how you met, what you love about each other, the tone you want. Then I write your ceremony from scratch, personal, honest, and true to who you are, and you review every word before the day. On the day itself, I arrive one full hour early, help calm the nerves, coordinate with your other vendors, and deliver a ceremony your guests will talk about on the drive home. Afterward, I file your marriage license for you. CEREMONIES I PERFORM Elopements and micro weddings, full wedding ceremonies, and quick license signings. Unity ceremonies including sand, rope braid (cord of three strands), handfasting, the Mexican lasso, Bible presentation, and foot washing. Bilingual touches available (I've done ceremonies with Spanish and Lao elements). LGBTQ+ affirming, always, for every couple. PACKAGES License Signing: $100. Just the legal "I do," warm and unhurried. Elopement Ceremony: $200. A full personal ceremony for intimate weddings. Signature Wedding Ceremony: $300. My full ceremony experience for your big day. Add-ons: ceremony rehearsal $150, wedding arch rental $100 with flowers matched to your colors, and unity ceremony supplies. TRAVEL I serve the Tri-Cities and the Smoky Mountains, and I travel across Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, and southern Ohio, regularly up to 100 miles and further for the right wedding, just ask.
