My style of wedding photography is photojournalistic. While capturing formal portraits are important, I also believe the ambiance of your day & the life-force of your invited guests is of equal priority. With a gentle eye, I will steer your formal photographs to best reflect your personalities, while simultaneously documenting those subtle yet profound candid moments that make up such an important day. I keep a keen watch as the day naturally unfolds so you have a record long after the day has passed you by.
High school introduced me to photography & there I spent my waking hours shooting film, developing, & printing deep within the darkroom. From there I went to Otis School of Art & Design to study Fine Art Photography (2001-2005), which exposed me to art theory & artist's studio practices. After college I flexed my logistical side & produced art fairs (2004-2012) that shared contemporary art to communities in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, & New York. In 2013 I transitioned into a small business owner & made photography my full-time world. So if you will, find comfort in knowing that art & photography are a part of my physiological make-up & the path I've taken shows this.
My camera & I stay vigilant throughout your day, which no doubt will have many moving parts, while maintaining an unobtrusive & honest presence.
STAY IN THE MOMENT. I’LL SUPPORT YOU & DO THE REST.
TRAVEL — I live in Los Angeles & I’ve travel all over the world for wedding documentation! I have photographed weddings in: India, Jamaica, Japan, Mexico, & the United States — California (Northern & Southern), Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, Pennsylvania
KIVA LOAN PLEDGE — I pledge to make a Kiva loan for every wedding that I book. This is something that has been important for me to integrate into my wedding photography business from the beginning. It hasn't escaped me how becoming a small business owner has changed my life for the better. I am grateful to have had the privilege & opportunity to see my goals through. I believe when you are given a chance to work towards a life that you deliberately design for yourself, it can be transformative & ripple positively outwards. The empowerment that results is priceless & I believe that all humans deserve the right to choose what they want for themselves & see their vision come to fruition. Struggle is real, I've been through my share, & it's time to do my part to help fellow dreamers & builders. (www.kiva.org)

We found Gina through A Practical Wedding as a recommendation for an affordable photographer. It was true - her rates were potentially half of other photographers we spoke to. Bu...
t cheating out wasn't our only objective - knowing that we weren't going to have a videographer, it was very important we found a photographer who was going to truly document the entire day top to bottom and that is exactly what Gina and her assistant, Shane did.
We first met Gina at a coffee shop to talk about our thoughts for our wedding. At this point we had met with 5 other photographers at the same coffee shop, and were getting a little exhausted. Everyone had beautiful photos to share, and some of them even shot our venue and knew the best angles, but it was really important that the person who was going to follow us around like a stalker on the most important day of our lives be someone we wanted to hang out with. Gina was 100% that girl. She's an artist and a journalist and an all around super rad chick. Over an hour of coffee we fell in love and the deal was done. We opted for Gina's biggest packages - 2 photographers for a full 10 hours and an engagement session all for less than $3000.
The engagement session was super fun. We had some loose ideas of where to go - strolling around our neighborhood, checking in at a favorite bar, going to a nearby park. She was up for it all. She didn't put us in weird forehead to forehead poses. She didn't ask us to look lovingly into each other's eyes. She just hung out with us for an afternoon and took THE MOST AWESOME PICTURES EVER. We got digital prints within a few weeks and the option for a few prints. They were edited & colored to perfection in a natural and respectful way. We chose one super big print of our favorite shot to display at the wedding. Gina ordered and when she got it back, said at that size, it didn't look the best. She then printed a bunch of other options and brought them to our wedding. You could probably hear my bridesmaids "aww" from a mile away.
We haven't gotten our wedding photos back yet (the wedding was just 3 days ago!) but the day went exactly like we wanted it to. She had a shot list of some family and bridal party photos, but our main focus was to be on candids and her and Shane were all over it like respectful paparazzi. They even came to our after-party with us and continued shooting. It was so fun to have them there and I'm so happy we'll get to have all of those memories documented in photos too. We can't wait to see what comes back!!!
