Gizzelle James Couturiere

Everything about my experience working with Gizzelle and her team was fantastic. She did alterations for both my wife and I for our wedding this fall and everything was perfect. The dresses were altered across a few appointments which helped everything come together nicely and at the right time. She also was just a joy to work with and made the whole experience great.

Wow - Gizzelle James Couturiere literally saved my wedding day. I called them stressed 2 weeks before my wedding with a botched wedding dress from another alterations company and they fit me into their schedule for the next day. I was frantic, but I arrived and they immediately put me at ease. They were so kind and reassuring, and talked me through all of the things that were wrong and how they were going to fix it. They waived half of the rush fee out of the kindness of their heart because they felt bad for me and the situation I was in. They also kindly took pictures of everything wrong for me so that I could build a case against the other studio. They managed to completely reconstruct the dress and have it done the day before I left for my destination wedding. I felt comfortable, beautiful, and fell in love with my dress all over again. Everyone here is so talented and so kind, I cannot recommend them enough!

Gizelle James was recommended by the bridal shop where we purchased my daughter's wedding gown. Before our first appointment, I sent Gizelle pictures of my daughter in her gown and was quoted a range of $500 - $800 for alterations. Her reviews were wonderful, so I thought we would be in good hands. Several reviews mentioned how special the brides were made to feel. That was not our experience. On our first visit, after waiting an hour past our appointment time which was the case for every visit, the dress was pinned by one of Gizelle's seamstresses. It was difficult to communicate with her due to a language barrier. At the end of the appointment, we were told alterations would be $1300. I should have followed my gut and found another seamstress but after being told how booked everyone was due to 2022 being such a busy wedding year, I was afraid we would not find anyone else in time. We had 4 more appointments over the course of 3 1/2 months and each one was stressful because whenever we tried to give feedback about something needed on the dress, we were cut off and told 'Don't worry about it'. At one point, midway through the process, Gizelle lost her temper and told me off. I had already paid for half of the alterations and she had the dress so I felt like I needed to just keep my cool and get the dress done. The most stressful part was when we went to what was supposed to be our last appointment 10 days before the wedding, the dress was not ready. We had to come back 3 days before the wedding to get the dress not knowing if it would be done in time. In the end, the dress looked beautiful on my daughter but I would not recommend Gizelle due to the cost of the alterations, her rude demeanor and the stressful alterations experience.

Gizzelle and her team were incredible to work with and I would HIGHLY recommend their services. They are true experts and will help you achieve a flawless fit- my wedding dress fit perfectly and I felt so beautiful in the finished product. Their services are definitely pricier, but I truly felt I got what I paid for. Gizzelle and her team were also so lovely- scheduling was seamless and Gizzelle really took her time with each appointment to ensure perfection in all alterations.
