Shekiba was giving an attitude and asking “well did she show a picture?” I think regardless if a client shows you a picture, If they say not as smoky then the makeup artist shouldn’t proceed to put even more shadow on the lid. My sister was in tears at the bridal studio. Secondly, my bridesmaid Shoukoufa. She did not like her updo and when she told Shekiba that she wants it down, she told her no she’s not redoing it for her very rudely and they didn’t have time when it only took her 15 min for her hair in the first place. We had set aside 45 min for each bridesmaids hair. Then she said that she’s charging her another $150, Shoukoufa said she’s absolutely not paying her another $150 after she just degraded her in front of everyone. Thirdly, her bridal restroom was absolutely disgusting. Tissues and toilet paper all over the floor. Fourth, my mother in law ended up putting her wig on herself and fixing it at the venue because her assisted didn’t know how to do it and still charged me $100 to literally curl 5 pieces of hair. My hair by the end of the night was completely ruined and flat. I could have done a better job using a wand curling my hair. I have all my guest pictures to prove it. Although my makeup looked good her pictures with the blight ring light, it was only good in the venue pictures because my sister had to fix it with blending, powder, and blush at the venue. I had done my own eyebrows, my own lips, my own lashes. We didn’t want to make a big deal of it the day of because of the stress everyone else was on but overall I’m not happy with the way she handled everything that morning. Lastly, with covid being such a big deal right now, as a makeup artist, you should not be blowing in a clients face to dry makeup. It’s unsanitary. I have pictures to prove all statements.

the trial. She never followed up on the week off or day off. I followed up with her for the address, and she wanted to cancel at the last minute. She bought her kids in the studio were interrupting her, and she was focused on her Instagram video and her kid more than what I wanted t do for my big makeup. Her makeup was super patchy, and she used extremely cheap products. Brides, please DONT go to her.

as a year in advance, I did love the look, she has the art down to a T!! Unfortunately, this was where she low-key forced me to buy her-brand eyelashes and hair extensions ($280). She said if I don't buy them I don't have enough hair to do a bridal style... Shortly after I left she followed up with multiple messages about finalizing the extensions. She never gave me an option to rent extensions (which after buying the extensions, she sent me the contract and I saw I had an option to rent). She was extremely pushy on trying to have me come to her home studio on the day of the wedding to get ready, which was about 1.5 hours away from my venue. I paid her for travel but she came and got me ready in a rush and ridiculously early. She kept stating she had to go back for other clients in the day and I was literally left half ready... If you know you have a bride that day, why would you book so close back to back? My hair and makeup was done extremely fast, but it was beautiful and stayed in place all night. My hair was done so quickly and aggressively that the pins in my head were literally digging straight into my skull which led to a massive migraine. What was most upsetting was that I PAID for dupatta and jewelry setting. She did not even put the dupatta on my head let alone touch it. She brought clips and told me to keep them and have someone sew them into my dupatta. She claimed it was a quick and easy way to have my dupatta stay put, it just seemed to me that she didn't have the time to set my dupatta herself so she handed me four little clips and said do all the work yourself and pay me ~$50 for dupatta setting. My MOH luckily knew how to sew and somehow draped and helped me place the dupatta because Shekiba DID NOT complete her job. This led to uncomfortable posture and distribution of weight because my dupatta was so heavy. When it came to jewelry, all she did was have me put on my earrings and necklace, she basically got me ready enough to take quick pictures and videos for herself (which she never posted on her Instagram) and left so quickly. She did not help me with my nose ring and right before my event I had a nose bleed trying to put my own nose ring in, leading me to being late to my first look and getting no getting ready photos either. The other MUA I had for my other events set me up 100% and made sure everything was perfect before she left. I don't understand why Shekiba was so unprofessional when I was literally paying her for all her services.

all of her brides and she is so good with makeup AND hair. I had another vendor cancel on me last minute and shekiba squeezed me in. It was a blessing in disguise because Shekiba’s work is unmatched!!!!! I will continue visiting her cute at home glam room for future events ♥️

me, we talked about the various looks we’d create, but the true test was really the makeup trial. Remember, Shekiba is extremely talented, and can pretty much give you whatever look you want. It’s on you to tell her what you’re looking for. I’m not a big makeup girl. Most days I’m bare faced. I was pretty nervous to get my makeup done too cakey or too over the top. Shekiba caught onto my needs early on. For my mehndi she created a simple, but very fun look with a metallic green eyeliner, ombred with black towards the end, and a bold deep pink lip. She listened to what I wanted A-Z and also created her own flair based on the outfit and my personality. For the wedding, again, since my outfit was big and bold, she suggested a more subdued copper look, with a dark brown liner, and a “nude/brown” lip. She even worked with me to have my hair up during the ceremony and have my hair done for the reception look. I cannot thank Shekiba enough for not creating a “one size fits all” look for her brides. You’ll be spending a lot of time with your MUAH person, so make sure it’s a good fit so that your big day goes as planned. Shekiba brings a no-bullshit, get it done energy, which I fully appreciated. makeup artist come do theirs. She was not as good as Shekiba and my bridesmaids were not too thrilled with there makeup. There hair started falling apart too. Then they were charged a travel fee that was not discussed with the original negotiations and booking. I would say Shekiba is awesome and will make you look amazing. She is definitely worth it but if an assistant has to do your bridal party's makeup and hair I would suggest getting there profile and viewing there work first.

stile. Before the trial, she told me to send her money in order to secure a trial date but designated that money goes towards the wedding day package, which I have in writing. It was never designated as a non-refundable deposit. On top of that, I paid additionally for the trial itself. She was unorganized with scheduling and did not have the professional sense to confirm an appointment a day in advance or follow up with the contract. I live out of state and we were supposed to have a trial during the summer, but it kept getting pushed until two weeks before my wedding. During the trial, she tried to up-sell me on her branded products like hair extensions which were $250-300 to buy or $150 to rent. However, renting wasn't an option when later brought up– quite shady. The contouring on my nose was obvious and several shades too dark. Unlike the comments below, I did not receive compliments on my hair and makeup that day. One friend asked if she rushed during the trial. After the trial, I decided to go in a different direction for my wedding day. Some people want to use her and that's their choice, but it wasn’t for me. I couldn’t justify the pricing for a simple look with waves and medium makeup ($500 HMU, $150 to travel to my venue, $300 for extensions, $200 for my mother, and $185 for a trial). I did not request money back for the trial because she performed that service. However, she felt entitled to keep the other amount designated for the wedding day package and demanded another $450 according to a contract neither one of us signed. (I saw the contract for the first time during the trial.) Regardless of timing, there was never a verbal or written agreement that she would do my wedding hair and makeup. I would ask her questions about what I may need and pricing, but who would commit without having a trial first? Never in my years have I dealt with an individual who references a contract neither one of us signed, refuses to return money for services not performed, and is extremely hostile in return! Save your money and go with someone else more professional and genuine.

She takes her time and gives full attention to detail. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking to get their hair and makeup done!! I will definitely be booking her again in the future too!
