Standing since 1881, Glen Falls House has a long and storied history. Since becoming a hotel in 1941, it has experienced a series of renovations and revitalizations in recent years. Now, this venue offers a range of tastefully designed rooms and spaces for couples and their guests to enjoy. From its three glamping sites to its secluded cabins, there is a range of choices when it comes to accommodation and celebration spaces. Outdoor festivities are regularly held here, with covered and uncovered areas available with a range of capacities. Wild woodlands surround this venue, with pristine waterfalls and peaceful clearings throughout. to make sure that our weekend was perfect. "The GFH team were the most accommodating and nicest people!" - many of our guests repeatedly told us of this after the wedding. And the food! OMG, everything served that weekend was DELICIOUS!!! Our family and friends raved about the yummy food just as much! If we could do it all over again, we would return to GFH. We highly recommend renting out GFH for the whole weekend for your wedding, reunion, or private gathering!! We will make every attempt to stop by each time we will be in the neighborhood!

ience of planning our wedding with them was extremely difficult from the very beginning, however. Jonathan, the owner, though seemingly very kind when we first met him, was extremely unresponsive, as was his staff, which had an incredibly high turnover, making plans even harder. Through no fault of GFH, my partner and I decided to decouple a few weeks before our wedding. Understandably, GFH had to apply their cancellation policy. However, they then attempted to take advantage of us in the wake of our canceled wedding to make even more money off of us. We had a credit with them of over $100,000 and thought at the very least a small group of friends and family might still gather that weekend at no extra cost to mourn. However, Jonathan deceived us in our discussions with him about this weekend, taking advantage of what we were going through, and made additional charges not only to us, but to our guests, which we never meant to agree to. He was extremely unclear and delayed giving us concrete financial numbers in what I assume to be an effort to force us to agree to something he knew we would never do so. When this was brought to Jonathan's attention, seeking reimbursement, he threatened litigation against me. What was already one of the most trying episodes of my life was made that much worse by Jonathan, owner and manager of Glen Falls House.
Unfortunately, I was not entirely surprised by his behavior, having heard in the months leading up to what would have been our wedding date some very disappointing stories about his treatment of his staff, and poor relationship with the bakery which he had set up to do catering for weddings. (They broke their partnership the day of our wedding tasting.) In short, the signs were there from the very beginning that this was not a venue to be trusted, but we blew past them, to our own detriment. Don't do the same.
It is such a shame. This is such a special property. But the immoral and disorganized way it is run makes it decidedly not worth anyone having what is supposed to be the most special day of one's life there. Save yourself the heartache. Trust me.

Daniel cancelled his wedding event two weeks before it was scheduled to occur during our b...
usiest time of the year. We, our staff, and all of the vendors had already spent very significant time planning and setting things up for his wedding and we lost out on the opportunity to host other events. Daniel decided to rent the entire resort for himself and a few friends for the weekend. Under our contract, he was required to pay for the entire room block. Nonetheless, in an effort to help him out in his time of need, we agreed to substantial discounts.
We received the the below thank you email after checkout on Sunday -
“Hi Jonathan,
Thanks for this note, and for everything you did this weekend, and for working with us to navigate the cost questions. I know it was all extremely unorthodox, but it was so important and helpful to me to be with my family at GFH this weekend, and I’m really glad we could make it work.
Though I didn’t get married here, GFH will always still have a special place in my heart now, and I look forward to returning someday in the future.

Then, after the weekend and agreeing to the pricing and discounts, he suddenly changed course and demanded that we refund the full rent that was paid for the few guests who stayed. In fact, he threatened
“If you do not refund these rooms immediately, I will write a review so scathing and so public that anybody thinking about getting married at Glen Falls House will run for the hills. I am a professional writer, and you better believe I can write a review that would weigh you down like a [expletive omitted] anchor. I will not come off as crazy, I will not come off as embittered. I will come off as honest and devastated and taken advantage of, all of which is the truth.”
We were naturally surprised to receive this communication after the fact. Neither the contract settlement nor positive time his guests had experienced changed between these two messages. We suggest that you disregard his diatribe, consider other reviews of our resort, or reach out to us directly with any questions about rental agreements or how we handle unforeseen circumstances or issues of hardship for our clients.

Stay away from this place when planning your wedding. Iv never come across a more delusional and overpriced wedding packet (which they just recently increased even more … was $16K ...
now $23K). Not to mention how chaotic, unhelpful, unprofessional and completely unorganized the management and wedding planners were. They seldom replied to emails, rarely answered the phone or returned calls and were inconsistent in their messaging.
This place wants to be something they are not and are actually far from reality in quality and service for the price they charge.
It’s got a cool vibe in a gorgeous location but man oh man, dont waste your $$ or time here. Especially not your wedding.

worked with us on budget, which was amazing. We were looking for a place where all the guests could stay the whole weekend without having to worry about driving/transportation/etc. Glen Falls House delivered on all fronts! It's a beautiful old house with tons of history and modern eclectic decor and three beautiful waterfalls on the property. We had our rehearsal dinner poolside, with delicious BBQ and cocktails out of their adorable outdoor trailer bar, followed by a campfire and S'mores. The morning of the wedding, we all had a farm-to-table breakfast at Trotwood restaurant at the Main House. While my husband and I got ready, folks hiked to the on-site waterfalls, chilled at the bar by the pool, or walked to the German Beer Garden right up the street for live music, beers and bratwurst. The actual wedding was managed so well and the venue was super accommodating - we had way too many people to fit into the restaurant for dinner, but Jon, Greg and Quinn figured it out with some lovely outdoor seating. And guests raved about the food! Particularly the roast chicken and kale salad with homemade granola. The reception/dancing/after party in the Tavern was exactly the vibe we wanted: a low-key party atmosphere that still looked awesome in photos =). We cannot say enough great things about the venue! Our older family members especially enjoyed that they could go back to their rooms for a moment's rest/ to cool off/get some peace and quiet... and then come right back to the party when they were ready. They all want to go back every year!
