When we started planning our wedding, we wanted a venue that felt like home - while also wanting to capture that feeling of walking out into the garden, somewhere ethereal and timeless. We went into our tour at Glen Manor House not knowing what to expect and were completely taken by the charm of the estate, impeccably kept gardens and breathtaking views overlooking the banks of the Sakonnet River. We absolutely loved the venue’s layout, being able to move freely through each space, each room just as enchanting as the next. We toured multiple venues in Rhode Island and truly none of them captivated us like Glen Manor - even in the rain it feels like you’re in a fairytale. Adding to its allure, we were thrilled to have Russell Morin as their exclusive catering & event team who lived up to every expectation and delivered an absolutely flawless catering & event experience.

Glen Manor House is a dream. I had a long wish-list of criteria I hoped for in a wedding venue: I wanted a venue with European-style architecture and a patio, surrounded by gardens, but also by the sea. Glen Manor checked all the boxes. It feels like getting married in a fairy tale. The guests loved it too; many of them had their own little photo shoots on the grounds and pier, and in the gardens. I loved that guests could wander indoors and out, seeking privacy when they wanted to. It was perfect, and our day-of coordinator (Sophia O.) did a wonderful job ensuring everything flowed smoothly.

We had the wedding of our dreams and it was becaues of this venue. This venue has EVERYTHING! The chateau is beautiful, the grounds are spectacular, and the views of the river are breathtaking. There is a dock you can take photos on. Our guests repeatedly commented that this was the best venue they have ever been to. Our coordinator, Renee, was absolutely wonderful. She was professional, organized, funny, and kind. They have weddings down to a science and everything was organized and well taken care of. FYI, they recently switched to exclusively using Russel Morin Catering.

I do not even know where to start with Glen Manor House other than it is a spectacular place. From the moment I saw this place online to when I set foot on the property this place has been my dream wedding venue. The ambiance, the setting and the maintenance of this property is unmatched in every way. On top of all this, Katie the coordinator there, is absolutely phenomenal. From the moment I met with her she was nothing but professional, prompt and thorough. I am so sad to hear she is retiring at the end of the year! However, you can tell she loves the Glen with all her heart and I know it will be in well kept hands going forward! I am so thankful that we chose Glen Manor as our ceremony and reception venue because it will always have a special place in my heart now. If you are on the fence about the Glen take this as your sign to book this venue. It truly is a hidden Rhode Island gem in every way. Our friends and family are still talking about the venue a month later! Thank you Glen Manor for the most amazing day.

The Glen Manor House is one of the most stunning, well-kept venues in New England. It barely needs any decor or flowers at all - it's absolutely beautiful on its own. After researching 50+ venues in New England and visiting ~10, the Glen Manor House was by far our favorite.. hands down. We worked closely with Katie who has been with GMH for years and was a big part of the reason why we moved forward with them. Katie is incredibly professional, warm-hearted, easy (and fast!) to communicate with, and knows how to run a wedding like no other. I am so, so happy that we decided to get married at Glen Manor House, and cannot recommend this venue and team enough!

Simply amazing. The venue was exactly what we were looking for when we began planning our wedding. Katie was the ultimate facilitator throughout the process and helped with everything leading up to, throughout, and after the big day. We could not have done it without her. The venue was a perfect mix of indoor and outdoor areas to socialize and enjoy. It is set back in a neighborhood, so there is no outside noise that you are competing with. Lastly, it is right on the water, with a dock set right in front of the property to enjoy. Our guests had nothing but good things to say about the evening. We recently had our wedding at the Glen Manor House in August 2022 and it was truly a dream come true! This venue is absolutely stunning inside and out, it has a chateau vibe, with beautiful grounds and an incredible water view. Our guests were so impressed with the venue and loved everything about it! Everyone loved the beauty, flow and the indoor/outdoor flexibility and could not have more nice things to say about it. We really loved that everyone could truly enjoy themselves, whether that meant getting down on the dance floor, conversing in one of the dinner rooms or enjoying the beautiful sunset and later moon views outside. Working with Katie was an absolute pleasure! She is such a nice person and amazing to work with. She helped us every step of the way in planning , was readily available whenever we needed to speak to her and she provided rapid responses to our e-mails. She took care of all of our items that we dropped off for decorations such as pictures and signs. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect and we HIGHLY recommend and thank Katie & the Glen Manor House!

Katie is absolutely incredible to work with. Where to begin! Glen Manor is of course a stunning venue, but working with Katie elevated our wedding entirely. She runs a tight ship, is so professional and experienced and her guidance was incredibly valuable. She responded to our many, many questions incredibly promptly, and was flexible and accommodating with all the personal touches we wanted to add to our day. She was dedicated to our vision, worked with all our vendors, and executed flawlessly. All with a calm and welcoming demeanor. Even though she manages so many weddings, she made us feel like we were her only wedding. We really felt like royalty on our wedding day. I don’t know how she does it!

I have loved this historic house and its beautiful grounds for my entire life, so it was an easy decision of where to have our wedding. Katie who runs the house is amazing and runs it like a well-oiled machine. You just feel like royalty the second you walk in. The high ceilings of spacious rooms that then open up to the ocean and bright gardens are magnificent. There is a very large bridal suite and you are allowed on the property three hours prior to the event so we had plenty of time to hang out and do some pictures before. They have all tables and chairs on site. You need to hire a caterer to come in from their approved list.

The Glen Manor House in Portsmouth was the best part of our wedding day. It is absolutely stunning and the perfect spot to get married. Katie was outstanding and helped the day go according the plan! All of our guests could not stop talking about how amazing our venue was — my husband and I highly recommend the Glen Manor!!

Having our wedding at the Glen Manor House was a complete dream. Unfortunately our wedding was originally scheduled at another venue and was postponed due to COVID. That venue was very difficult to deal with, so the most important criteria for me in picking a new venue was professionalism of the staff, and I don't have enough positive things to say about Katie. She is organized, one top of her game, and so kind. The grounds and garden are immaculately kept, and all our guests are still raving about how beautiful it was, like transporting to a French chalet! This venue is 10x better than any in Newport because you don't have to work about the traffic and congestion and you get much more space! Thank you to Katie and the Glen Manor Team!

Having our wedding at the Glen Manor House was a dream come true! Driving up the road and seeing the water right before you make that right turn is breath taking. The Glen Manor House is absolutely gorgeous both inside and out! Our guests loved everything about it! We loved how we were able to utilize the grounds and the rooms for different purposes such as for dinner, dessert and dancing. We really enjoyed having dinner in one room where you can actually hear the person next to you speak. We loved how the dancing, speeches and introductions took place in the ballroom. Working with Katie was a pleasure! When we first met her, she gave us such a warm welcome! She is really an amazing person! She is professional, kind, patient, helpful and understanding. She helped us every step of the way in planning our wedding day. She was readily available whenever we needed to speak to her and she provided rapid responses to my e-mails. She took care of all of our items that we dropped off for decorations such as pictures and signs. Our wedding day was perfect! We are so grateful that we had our wedding there! We can’t thank Katie enough for all that she has done for us!

I am overjoyed that we chose Glen Manor as our wedding venue! It was absolutely perfect and a stunning dream come true. I couldn’t ask for anything more! Katie was very helpful throughout the process too. Our guests were blown away by the scenery and some said it was the best wedding they’ve been to! I loved how private and intimate the venue was. The bridal suite was also one of my favorite parts. Most of all, you cannot beat the views! Our wedding was a magical fairytale.

My husband and I got married at Glen Manor House on 5/21/22 and could not be happier that we chose this venue. Katie was fantastic to work with from start to finish: she was super responsive and helpful when we had questions, but let us pursue our vision in our own way. The grounds of the venue are gorgeous - all of our guests were stunned when they arrived! The multiple rooms within the house make the whole party more intimate and also facilitate dancing at the end of the night. Overall, I can’t say anything negative about Katie or GMH - we’re still gushing over our beautiful wedding!!

My husband (!!) and I loved Glen Manor the second we visited. It was the only venue we saw in person and knew immediately it would be perfect for our wedding. The manor and the grounds are so beautiful and Katie is a dream to work with. From the very first day Katie was so kind, patient, and communicative. It made our wedding planning journey so easy. She was receptive to our alternative ideas to incorporate into our day and excited to see them come to life. We heard from many of our guests that they were in awe of the manor house and that it was one of the most beautiful spaces they've seen for a wedding. We are so grateful to Katie and Glen Manor for making our wedding so memorable.

My husband and I loved our Glen Manor wedding! The Glen is truly a stunning venue and we are so happy we got married here. My husband and I have nothing but amazing things to say about Glen Manor House and especially Katie. We were one of the unfortunate couples that had to postpone our wedding (numerous times) due to COVID. After a negative experience with our original venue, we absolutely fell in love with Glen Manor House and made the switch. And we couldn’t be happier with our decision. When the trolley first pulled up to the venue on our wedding day, I was overcome with emotion by how beautiful everything looked. I ran into Katie inside and she gave me a big hug and was genuinely excited for our wedding to take place. This was when I knew that the day was going to be as perfect as I imagined. Everything ran seamlessly thanks to Katie and all our guests were in awe of how beautiful the venue was. If we had to go back and do it all again we would choose Glen Manor House as our venue in a heartbeat.

What an incredible experience it was to be married at the Glen Manor House! I felt like a princess from the minute I was escorted to the bridal suite overlooking the water. The charming details of the mansion set the tone for any classy occasion. We had our ceremony on site, facing the bay, surrounded by their stunning gardens- it was breathtaking. Cocktail hour on the covered terrace was perfect, and the flow into the reception was seamless. I was worried about the separate rooms for dining to start, but it worked really well in allowing guests to get out of their seats to dance and be social after dinner was over. Katie is SECOND TO NONE. She served as the day of coordinator and made sure everything ran smoothly- there were not hiccups that I was aware of! Just as it should be! Thank you for being the perfect setting for a perfect wedding day.

I am incredibly thankful that I was able to be married at the Glen Manor House. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas and tied in perfectly with my gold lantern centerpieces and champagne colored bridesmaid dresses. The whole wedding was incredibly elegant and romantic. It was everything I dreamed of and more. Katie was such a blessing too! I was planning the wedding while being in Arizona and did not have a wedding planner so I truly relied on Katie. She always made me feel comfortable and supported no matter what questions or requests I had. She is a true professional and also a genuinely kind person. She put all my worries to rest and I did not have a single worry on my wedding day because I knew that Katie would ensure everything looked beautiful and ran smoothly. Katie is the type of person you wish you had as a best friend or Coworker because she makes even the most difficult tasks feel approachable and instills a sense of calm when you need it most. I had the most perfect wedding day and it’s truly thanks to Katie and all the hard work and dedication she puts forward.

We knew Glen Manor House was the venue for us the moment we walked into it! The manor is absolutely stunning!!! The French architecture matched our Beauty and the Beast theme perfectly with all the gold trimmings! It is right on the water with access to the pier all year round! It is honestly kept up soooooo beautifully! Now the extra perk of the manor is Katie. Katie is a gem to work with, constantly giving me suggestions and meeting with us to go over different things as we do walk throughs in the manor! It allowed us to place everything we were thinking of bit by bit! Katie was extremely communicative, getting back to us almost immediately and made sure my whole day flowed perfectly! She coordinated all vendors and made sure everything was set up exactly the way we wanted it!! Honestly, our wedding went flawlessly thanks to Katie and the manager of our caterer! Without them, our wedding wouldn't have turned out half as organized as it was! As a type A bride, I was nervous that since we weren't doing something, it wouldn't turn out the way we wanted it done, but Katie and the rest of her team made sure that our wedding was just as close to perfect as possible!! If you are considering Glen Manor House as your wedding venue, you won't regret booking it!!

The Glen Manor and Katie were everything that a bride could want! The manor itself was stunning. Between the architecture, ballrooms/dining rooms, gorgeous red carpet staircase and the stonework outside- the whole building is a work of art. I have been to countless weddings and no venue was as breathtaking as the Glen. My guests came from far and wide, all over the country, and I had many of them state that the Glen was the most magical venue they have ever been to. They said it felt like you were in a fairytale. If you are looking for a unique and romantic wedding venue- the Glen is for you! Plus- you can’t beat the gardens, waterview, and pictures on the dock! Now Katie was a godsend. She met with me, my husband and our families multiple times to show us the venue. She was accommodating and was happy to answer all questions. As the wedding got closer she gave me guidance and ideas on how to execute my last part of wedding planning. She even helped with the ever dreaded seating chart. She was always cheerful and positive through my entire experience. On the day of my wedding it was no different. She coordinated drop offs for all our extra items (i.e. pictures, card box, etc.) and ensured it all got placed. She coordinated with all our vendors and made me feel confident that I would not need to do or worry about anything the day of the wedding. Throughout our reception, she checked in with my husband and I and made sure we had everything that we needed. She was one of the main players in making our wedding day perfect. Please do yourself a favor and book the Glen Manor!

Our daughter, Leah, had her wedding reception at Glen Manor on October 2. We are still in the afterglow of an amazing experience. Katie was phenomenal in working with us through all stages of the event - from planning to the big day. She is a professional and left no detail unaddressed. She offered plenty of ideas, steered us through all of the decisions, and was informative and responsive to all of our questions along the way (which was a huge relief as ours was a destination wedding). Katie's vendor recommendations were always on point. Katie and her team were amazing and we give her five stars (ten if the Knot would let us). Katie is a truly professional and we were in good hands! Glen Manor was gorgeous. Our guests are still raving at the premises, the grounds and the atmosphere on that magic day. Everything was spotless and shined brightly. As parents, we couldn't have been more pleased. Katie and the venue were perfect. What a memorable night!!

My experience working with Katie to plan my wedding reception at Glen Manor House was incredible from start to finish. When my now-husband was activated for a military deployment amidst the onset of the COVID pandemic in 2020, we reached out to Katie to reschedule our reception. She graciously honored our existing contract to identify a new date in 2021. I was one of the lucky brides whose new wedding date coincided with Hurricane Henri making landfall in New England. Katie and I were in constant communication throughout the wedding weekend as we watched the forecast together. I was incredibly grateful for her flexibility and her can-do attitude throughout. Ultimately, we were able to move forward with hosting our reception as scheduled that night. It was an absolute dream! Definitely consider the Glen for your wedding as it makes a perfect location - rain, shine, or hurricane!

The Glen Manor House is a spectacular Venue - we wish we could give Katie and the venue 10 stars! Katie is responsive and she knows the wedding business like no other - her guidance in planning and execution is priceless!

Complete and utter perfection. While my wedding day was a blur and I wish I could have enjoyed the space more, it was the most perfect venue. Katie is fantastic, professional, efficient and a dream to work with. We didn't have a ton of contact leading up to the event as I never had an in person venue visit due to Covid, but from the minute we "met" in person for the rehearsal I was immediately impressed. She offers helpful guidance and suggestions to makes sure both the rehearsal and the event run smoothly. My guests cannot stop talking about how beautiful the venue is. It truly is perfect. I could not recommend The Glen more. My only complaint is that you can only access the space a few hours before, so hair and make up cannot be done onsite. I would have loved the opportunity to spend the morning getting ready in the bridal suite that overlooks the ocean, but that is a "me" problem (I just want to stay forever!) Get married here if you can, it will be perfect.

Glen Manor did not disappoint even with a year delay due to covid and a rainy wedding day. Katie who manages the Glen was truly so wonderful to work with she was both accommodating and gracious . we love the images captured for the day and our guests were truly wowed. we cant say enough about how perfect the day was being at such a stunning venue Marty S

Glen Manor is absolutely beautiful. It truly is a chateau by the sea. From the gardens, terrace, house itself it is perfect for a wedding. The bridal suite overlooks the water and is the perfect size for any bridal party. Katie was amazing to work with. She expertly organizes all the details to make your day perfect. She was so helpful with all our questions and changes due to COVID. We ended up postponing from Oct to June and it was a great decision. Through all the changes Katie was there to ease our minds and help us with everything! On the big day she was there to make sure everything fell in to place beautifully. She is absolutely amazing!

Glen Manor is, simply put, absolute perfection in a wedding venue. Every part of the property is stunning - the garden, the view, the House itself, the bridal suite and, perhaps most importantly, Katie is absolute dream to work with. We booked Glen Manor 19 months before our wedding and well before the pandemic hit, so we went through numerous iterations for how the day would look, starting with a 150-person event, then just planning a small intimate ceremony in the space, and finally going through with a 30-person ceremony and reception at Glen Manor. I have no doubt that all of those possible plans would have been beautiful at the Glen, and Katie worked with tirelessly and patiently with us through each iteration of our plans. On our wedding day Glen Manor was beyond stunning and it felt perfect for our 30 person event. The House felt warm, inviting, intimate, and in many ways it felt like we were hosting a wedding at our home (one can dream!) because Katie made us and our guests so comfortable in the space. For anyone trying to plan a wedding during the pandemic (and anyone else), we cannot recommend Glen Manor more highly. Wedding planning is stressful in general, let alone when trying to account for changing restrictions and safety considerations, but we knew we were in good hands with Katie and that our day would be beautiful no matter what happened. I can honestly say that our wedding day exceeded our dreams even pre-covid, and that is largely due to Glen Manor.

Glen Manor was an incredible venue. My in-laws had gotten married there 30 years ago, so it was so special for me and my partner to get married in the same place. Katie was amazing to work with, and the house was extraordinary. Guests couldn't get over how beautiful it was, and are still talking about it. We got married in November and it was freezing, but the house felt warm, inviting, and so, so special. Our cocktail hour (before the ceremony) started right at sunset, and guests pulled up to see the house glowing with candles. Because of the weather, we didn't use the grounds except for some photos of the two of us, but the landscaping looked amazing, even at the time of year. It is obvious that Katie and Don care so deeply about the property and ensuring that those lucky enough to get married there have a wonderful experience. 10/10.

My husband and I couldn't have picked a better, more perfect location if we tried. Katie was so wonderful to work with, and helped to make our special day seamless. It was great to have the entire house and grounds to ourselves, and to not have to worry about sharing the space with another wedding or event happening at the same time. The view of the Sakonnet River was breathtaking, and wow-ed all of our guests. The house itself is stunning, and so elegant. It was the perfect fit for the classic wedding we were aiming for. Honestly, the best venue ever.

We feel as though we made many correct decisions when it came to our wedding day and choosing Glen Manor was one of them. The Manor is beautiful, great history, elegance and many available options for what you can do, no matter the size or formality of your wedding. With it being just outside of Newport in Portsmouth, I feel many people overlook it but that should not be the case, it has stunning water views, lush gardens, inside and outdoor space which is needed with RI weather and the separate ballroom in my opinion is a bonus because it gets people up out of their seats! Katie was amazing as well, she was super responsive and very helpful in guiding us through every step.

We were initially blown away with everything the house and grounds has to offer on our first visit to Glen Manor. While the facility speaks for itself, Katie and her staff made the difference in truly helping us realize the wedding we had envisioned in our dreams. Katie’s responsiveness, professionalism, and caring demeanor ensured us each step of the way that she was taking the utmost care in preparation for our evening. We couldn’t more highly recommend Glen Manor.

We had our wedding at Glen Manor House on October 13, and I’m so glad that my husband found this venue in an online search! We planned our wedding from abroad, so I had to book a venue without an in-person tour. We found many locations that satisfied some of our preferences but not others, but we knew it was a perfect match when we found Katie and the Glen! My first call with Katie lasted an hour, and I knew that we could trust her with this important day. She gave me a virtual tour of the venue and told me all about how we could use the space to personalize our wedding. The Glen is gorgeous without having to add a single additional decoration, it is exclusively yours for the wedding day, and there are so many beautiful spaces to hold an outdoor ceremony (two garden-views and the covered loggia in case of rain). Our photographer loved having so many different places to take gorgeous photos, and we ended up with a beautiful and varied gallery. The real selling point, however, is Katie herself. She is not only a property manager, but also a bona-fide wedding coordinator! She helped with vendor recommendations, layout for the reception, flow for the day/evening, day-of coordination, and so much more. Her expertise was vital to the planning process, particularly given that we live abroad and were only able to see the venue once. On the day of the wedding, Katie and Kathleen from Russell Morin Catering set up the entire venue for us so that we didn’t have to worry about a single thing! I gave them a box of decor with a list of brief instructions, and they set up the rooms even better than I had envisioned. The whole place looked like a fairytale - it was exactly as I had envisioned and even better in some regards! Katie also graciously allowed us to wait on deciding the ceremony location until the morning of the wedding. We ended up using the loggia, which was a beautiful back-up and turned out to be the perfect place for our intimate group of 45 guests. Even though we had the whole house to ourselves, they organized the rooms so that it felt cozy and warm rather than empty (although it definitely could have accommodated a much larger guest list!). Her assistance helped the day to run smoothly and seamlessly - I felt like I was gliding through the night without a single worry. In short, I would choose Katie and Glen Manor House again in a heartbeat! I got so many compliments from guests about how gorgeous, intimate, and special the venue was on that night, and I certainly can’t recommend Katie highly enough!

Our wedding could not have went more smoothly, or been more beautiful. Glen Manor House is a gorgeous indoor/outdoor venue that combines the manor look my husband wanted with the waterfront look I wanted. Katie, the site coordjinator, is an absolute gem. She helped me with seating charts, gave SO much good advice during the rehearsal, and made sure our wedding day went perfectly. She helped give such good advice on little “extras” to place around the venue and did a fabulous job setting everything up after we dropped it off during the rehearsal. I didn’t worry about a single thing on my wedding day and it was the most perfect day of my life.

Glen Manor is absolutely gorgeous! If you're looking for an elegant, outdoor (with indoor/outdoor patio option in case it rains), scenic, waterfront and historic venue, this is the perfect place. It's a great location for both intimate and large weddings. I had a small intimate wedding (around 60 guests) and the venue was just right for the size. Katie, the venue coordinator, was a great person to work with. She is responsive and on the day of, worked well with our caterer/event coordinator (Russell Morin) and other vendors seamlessly. All of our vendors love working with Katie and praised her professionalism.

The absolute best choice we could have made! The grounds and house are extremely beautiful and I can’t say enough great things about Katie- the wedding coordinator for the Glen. She made things run so smooth and was a pleasure the entire planning experience.

You can’t go wrong choosing the Glen for your venue. It is absolutely gorgeous and totally private. Something you will simply have to experience yourself because words don’t do it justice. Katie is the perfect person to run the Glen. She is one of the best communicators I have ever worked with and she knows this place inside and out. When we met up for the rehearsal, I loved that Katie could totally take charge of a large crowd of excited people and let us know what needed to happen and when to make our day exactly what we wanted. It’s easy to get lost in excitement and Katie was there to make sure we didn’t lose that structure. Since there is no AC (not that this stopped anyone from dancing!) our guests got to take full advantage of the entire house by getting some fresh air on the patio while still being able to see and hear the inside with the doors wide open. I could go on forever! Special thanks to Katie for making it all work together perfectly and giving us a perfect evening we’ll never forget!

 It is hard to say something about this beautiful place that hasn't already been said, but I am more than happy to share our experience. My mom booked this venue for our wedding after meeting Katie and touring the grounds, my husband and I didn't even seen it in person until a week before our wedding! We were blown away, it is beautiful in photos, but even more stunning in person. Katie took the time to meet with us before our event and give us a tour since we had never visited the Glen before. She answered all of our questions and gave us great last minute advice on our timing, set up, and rehearsal day instructions. The venue is stunning, but Katie is the true gem-- she will not lead you astray and if you follow her advice, you will enjoy a truly spectacular wedding. When our wedding party showed up for the rehearsal they were also struck by how beautiful the space was! We had an outdoor wedding, and outdoor cocktail hour, followed by a seated dinner and dancing inside. Unfortunately it was during the rare heat wave in RI, but guests really appreciated the outdoor space to cool down. You cannot go wrong having a wedding here and the dressing rooms for bride and groom are lovely, spacious, and have good views. Because Katie serves as a day of coordinator for your vendors and cues your ceremony, you will be able to really enjoy the event. You can also bring in your own alcohol which makes this stunning location a great value if you choose to go that route. Our only regret is that we didn't change our seating area to make use of the awning covered porch, but that was only because of the unseasonable heat. Your guests will be wowed by the building and the grounds and your photos will be beautiful. Most importantly, you will have the utmost confidence in Katie's abilities to help you coordinate and run a lovely event down to small details.

Glen Manor was an amazing venue for our wedding and reception. It is gorgeous. It’s right next to the water, has a stunning garden, and the inside is perfect for a wedding anywhere from 100-200 people. Katie was IMMENSELY helpful and always had answers to our questions. She had everything under control on the big day and it went off without a hitch. Everything was perfectly coordinated. We highly recommend Glen Manor!

With views overlooking the waters and beautifully manicured grounds that flow with the season, Glen Manor is simple, elegant, and perfect when it comes to showcasing to friends and family what a wedding in Rhode Island is all about. With the benevolent Katie as the manager of the property and guide throughout the process, even on the day of our wedding, always attentive to our needs, even those of friends, family, and our vendors, answering questions at a moment’s notice, we were given an empty canvas to build and plan upon our dream wedding. What we loved about Glen Manor was not only its charm but amenities offered with consideration of inclement weather. Plenty of space to enjoy with separation between the dining and reception area, all while having an outdoor covered area to lounge. Something to keep in mind when it comes to the number of guests you’re planning all while considerate of potentially having an indoor wedding. Three hours in advance to get ready, plenty of time before our ceremony and reception of 6 hours to do first-look photos. The grounds are fantastic for any wedding album. Roughly 170 guests in total, the space for the outdoor ceremony were plenty when facing the water, set in such a way we could walk in from the side without being noticed until walking up the aisle. The reception made up of rounds, the two of us having a sweetheart table set between the dining rooms. Two bars along with outdoor lounge furniture, bathrooms with plenty of space to offer personal amenities, parking on site with no issues and the ability to have transportation to and from the venue, Glen Manor was everything we could’ve ever hoped for with our wedding and Katie was wonderful in working with us throughout the process.

We fell in love with this venue the first time we visited during the wedding planning stage. We loved the Glen's elegance and its location by the water appealed; the price was also within our budget (unlike some much more expensive venues further south). Katie, the event coordinator was definitely one of the best parts about the venue--she was very responsive to phone calls and email during the planning process, she answered all of our questions, and she made sure there were no loose ends. When we went to the Glen for the rehearsal and to drop off items for the wedding, she really put us at ease with her calm but instructive demeanor and her detail-oriented attitude. Our ceremony was onsite, so the entire wedding party was able to get ready and take photos at the Manor within the 3 hours prior to the ceremony. Although our wedding took place at the end of October, the weather and grounds turned out to be GORGEOUS, and our photos really reflected that. We originally opted for an indoor ceremony, and Katie gave us day of flexibility to decide whether we wanted to have the ceremony outdoors. We appreciated having the option, but kept the ceremony in the ballroom partly because we wanted the live piano music for the ceremony and partly because the ballroom was so well-decorated and looked great already. The rest of the night flowed smoothly and transitions between each room/event did not feel forced at all. Cocktails were out on the terrace and in the ballroom, which was disassembled very quickly after the ceremony. Katie and the catering staff were very good at gathering guests for toasts in the ballroom and moving them to dinner and then back to the ballroom for cake-cutting and dancing. We got so many compliments from our guests about the venue ("Should we have our wedding here, too?"), and at the end of the night we could not be happier that we chose Glen Manor.

Glen Manor was the most beautiful place to get married! We held our reception at the Glen in May. Katie is a dream to work with, is super organized and helps to make sure everything runs smoothly. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!

When my wife and I were looking for venues to have our destination wedding in Newport, we went through a lot of reviews about Glen Manor and thought that people were exaggerating about how great Katie and the Venue were, in the heat of the emotion. Four months after our July 2nd wedding, we can say affirmatively that we would recommend anyone to chose the Glen Manor. The site and the venue itself are wonderful and set the tone for a perfect wedding. We are currently going through our pictures and it still feels unreal. Most importantly, Katie made it so easy for us, whether it’s for the planning in the previous months, or the day of. We never felt like we were planning at a distance because Katie was answering almost instantly our calls and emails, she recommanded solid and proven options for vendors and was really generous with her time. We still can not believe how smoothly things were running on our wedding day, we didn't need to worry or take care of any of the coordination because Katie had everything under control. This venue is absolutely stunning. You get the best of ALL worlds, historic mansion house, waterfront views, beautiful gardens, and best of all it comes with Katie. She was top-notch professional throughout the whole process and was the magic behind our wedding day. The natural beauty of the grounds and the house provide the most beautiful backdrop for a wedding where you don't need a lot of decor and flowers. All of our vendors were thrilled when we told them we were holding our wedding at the Glen, many who got married here themselves. I could not be happier with my experience with Katie and the Glen.

We had an absolutely incredible wedding at the Glen. This place is truly a hidden gem in the Newport area. We have been to so many venues, but both my husband and I knew that this is the venue for us when we pulled up. The pictures don't do it justice, you really do feel that you are in the french country side. The water view, the gardens, the architecture, the three fire places, the stunning patio - I can't even pick my favorite part of this venue. Although based on the pictures we saw, most brides have done an elegant/glamorous style, we have gone with a more rustic feel and it worked. Katie was wonderful to work with from day one. She acted like our wedding planner/coordinator for the rehearsal and on the day of the wedding as well. She sat everything up for us, and executed our vision perfectly. She coordinated with the other vendors and ensured that everything went perfectly. We really can't thank her enough for everything she did for us. She also did a great job at recommending other vendors. She knows many professionals in the area, so make sure that when you book with her, you ask for her input. Every person she recommended was amazing. Also worth noting, that the venue has a beautiful plan B option if it rains. As it rained at our big day, I was so relieved to know we picked a venue where know matter what we are stunning option. All in all, this is an incredible place with an incredible wedding coordinator.

I had my dream wedding at Glen Manor House. Katie is incredible to work with and made sure every last detail was taken care of. I cannot recommend this venue highly enough!

My husband and I married at Glen Manor House in May this spring. We were so so happy with our choice of Glen Manor House! It just could not have been more perfect! We had a few different criteria in mind when looking for venues. We knew we wanted to find a place where we could have both our ceremony and reception on location, and we also wanted to find a place that was somewhat local to us (living in Rhode Island) but that still felt like a romantic getaway. Glen Manor House definitely has a romantic feeling. It makes you feel like you're in a French chateau by the water without actually having to go to France. Perfect! Most importantly for us was to find a place that had a lovely outdoor setting but that was equally beautiful indoors in the case of rain or less favorable weather. Since we are both musicians we had plans for 9 string players to be performing in our ceremony, and we knew it was very important to make sure we had a comfortable rain plan for them. At many venues we explored the "rain plan" is to rent a tent or move the musicians to an inside location while everyone else holds up umbrellas. That wasn't going to work for us! At the Glen they simply move the ceremony into one of the gorgeous ballrooms. You can even decide on the day of the wedding whether you want to have the ceremony outside or inside. That was very appealing to us! Not only did Glen Manor meet our criteria and expectations, it exceeded them and provided a dreamy fairy-tale like setting for our wedding. In fact, I still have guests telling me just how much they loved the house and how it gave our wedding the perfect setting. We wound up having the ceremony indoors due to some chance of rain showers, but since the ballroom for the ceremony is so pretty we did not feel like we sacrificed anything moving indoors. In fact, it was exactly the right setting for our wedding musicians to shine and felt cozy, elegant, and intimate all at the same time. After the ceremony the weather was nice enough that people were able to mingle outside, and we were able to take photos in the lovely grounds. Everything flowed so smoothly, from the ceremony to cocktail hour to dinner and dancing. This is partly due to the expertise of Katie Wilkinson, who manages the events at the venue. Working with Katie was wonderful! She is so kind and helpful. I sent her many emails, and she was always generous and helpful in her responses. I knew that I did not have to worry about anything because she had everything under control. I'm going to miss Katie now that the wedding planning is over! One other nice thing about the Glen is that they only throw one wedding per day. Of course, you do have to stick to a predetermined schedule, but it's just nice to know that you will not be kicked out by the next group coming in. You also can be in the building 3 hours before the event begins, which is great. That's not the case everywhere. There are rooms for girls and guys to get ready with beautiful lighting for photos. I just cannot say enough good things about the Glen! I'm sure I'm leaving things out in this review. We had the most amazing experience there, and Glen Manor House was a huge part of what made our wedding wonderful, not just in terms of the beautiful setting but also the professionalism and kindness of all the people involved. Our guests were all so happy, and I will forever remember the beauty of that day, made possible by Glen Manor House. I cannot recommend it enough!!

The Glen Manor House was the most amazing venue for our recent wedding. We knew we wanted our venue to feel private, unique, and beautiful, and the Glen was everything we wanted and more. The house is stunning and looks like it belongs in the French countryside. Throughout the night we heard comments like "this place is amazing" .. "is this place real?" .. and "are we in France?" more times than we can count. It blew our guests away. On top of the Glen's beauty, Katie is SO lovely to work with. She is so professional but maintains such a sense of warmth and genuine kindness throughout the entire planning process. She is prompt at replying to emails, and she was there for us every step of the way. Katie set up our decor for us and helped my parents load up the car at the end of the night so they had nothing to worry about. She made our day run smoothly and efficiently - she made sure our day was perfect. Katie also works so well with all local and out of state vendors. We didn't have a wedding planner, and Katie made sure everyone was in contact and knew where to be and what to do. If you're considering the Glen and want a beautiful and unforgettable wedding day, I can't recommend it enough.

Before we even got engaged, my husband and myself knew that we had to get married at Glen Manor. My family spends summers up there so we had driven by and seen how beautiful it was! Within a week of getting engaged I had called Glen Manor to begin the booking process and pick a date! We had a formal tour later in the Spring after booking and just fell in love all over again with the history and all the uniqueness -- from the separate ballrooms for eating and dining to the beautiful stairway for pictures -- you really feel like it is your OWN chateau for the day! From the first phone call to saying good bye to Katie the day after our wedding when we picked up everything we had left there, she was incredible. She is an absolute joy to work with and makes sure you are comfortable every step of the way. She is so well organized what what she needs from the brides that it made my job as a bride less stressful. Every note and detail I gave her she executed to perfection and was always ready should we need to make a decision on the fly. The venue is absolutely breath taking and we were scheduled to have our ceremony in the garden however it rained and Katie had a last minute idea to do it under the side awning off of the ballrooms where dinner is served since we had a smaller guest count. This was the first time she ever did it and it made our wedding so special and intimate! Glen Manor is gorgeous rain or shine and there are no shortages of places for perfect photos. All of our guests continue to rave about the Glen nine months later -- I can't thank Katie enough!!
