About this vendor
Glen Manor House is a Chateau-inspired wedding venue located in Portsmouth, RI. Tucked away in the Ocean State’s rural heartland, this hideaway is evocative of traditional French-style. Brimming with old-world charm, the property is replete with nostalgic decor and authentic period-pieces. Featuring a myriad of flexible event spaces, this waterfront retreat gives you carte blanche to realize whatever design you desire. Boasting an enchanting blend of indoor and outdoor settings, this historic venue can set the scene for your love story’s next chapter.
Having welcomed couples through its doors for decades, the Glen Manor House has become one of the area’s most sought-after event venues. Born out of lush farmland acquired by the renowned Taylor family in the latter part of the 19th century, the property was completed in 1923. Taylor was fascinated by French Renaissance architecture and fashioned his new family home in this style. Following his death, his son continued upkeep of the manor, often finding solace in the grounds’ Italian-influenced gardens. It continued to be their family home until it was sold to the Sisters of the Sacred Heart in 1959. To this day, this venue hasn’t lost its inviting, wholesome vibe, as it continues to host unforgettable milestone celebrations.
Upon arriving on the grounds, you will be greeted by the manor’s fairytale facade. Its tall chimneys and elegant arches are reminiscent of France’s Gothic Epoch, while the pristine greenery and floral displays generate a soothing atmosphere. You and your partner can take an intimate stroll to the pier, where you will be treated to scenic views of the Sakonnet River. You can exchange your vows on the pristine lawn, while your guests marvel at the breathtaking panorama of tranquil woodland and distant sailboats. The interior features a myriad of rooms you will have exclusive access to on your big day. You can host a suave cocktail reception by their baby grand piano, or enjoy a lavish reception underneath their glistening chandeliers.
The Glen Manor House takes every measure to ensure your nuptials dreams become reality. Able to host up to 175 guests, the venue has a variety of customizable event space for you to choose from. The owners work hard to maintain the venue’s splendid aesthetic and are happy to assist you with any queries. Their planning team puts you at the heart of everything they do, as they strive to attend to every detail. Rentals such as tables and white ceremony chairs are available, and the manor’s furniture can also be used. A magical manor with a vintage, European-style flair, this gem is a perfect option for a rural romantic occasion.

nal and amazing staff, the day was perfect. Every guest who attended let us know that our food was the best wedding food they've ever had! Working with Daniel and Emily from the Glen made our wedding planning easy, effortless and flawless! They truly take such great care of you. Although the Glen is an investment, it is well worth every dollar from the dining to dancing experience. I would re-do the day over and over if we could!

y. Planning with Emily and Dan was seamless. We always felt listened to and supported. Liz was our day of coordinator and she was excellent. We had so many guests complimenting the food saying that it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had (maybe the best food in general!!) AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING!

delivering the magic of Newport mansions and New England's finest vibes. The garden, ocean view, loggia with stone arches, and "old money" interior truly give it a feeling of authenticity and elevation. We almost felt like we were at an Italian villa, but in Rhode Island! To boot, you get you work exclusively with Russell Morin for this venue. They have everything handled so well, the wedding planning and execution ran like a dream. Emily and Dan were unbelievably helpful, responsive, and patient with us. They brought our vision to live seamlessly, and the day of staff and coordinator Madelaine ran the show flawlessly. Not to mention the food and cake were outrageously good (so much lobster!!) I didn't have to worry about a thing. If you are looking for a breathtaking, show-stopper of a venue, an A+ experience catering team, AND a reasonably priced package (!!!) you need to book Glen Manor House!
We couldn’t have asked for a better experience at Glen Manor! The venue itself is absolutely beautiful. Our event producers Emily and Dan was incredible to work with, attentive to ...

Our day-of coordinator Liz was also the savior of our day, making sure everything ran so smoothly, and we were able to truly enjoy every moment. Highly recommend Glen Manor for anyone looking for a stunning venue with exceptional service!

tastic to work with — so kind, organized, and genuinely invested in making our day perfect.
We’re from NYC and big foodies, and the food exceeded all expectations — not just at our tasting but on the wedding day itself (seriously still dreaming about this). Our guests are still raving about the menu weeks later! The catering staff was equally wonderful, especially the bridal attendants who made sure we always had everything we needed (and more). Daniel, our day-of coordinator, went above and beyond. From our very first conversations with GMH through the rehearsal and wedding day, he was professional, thoughtful, and incredibly helpful in ensuring every detail went smoothly. The venue itself is absolutely stunning. Compared to some of the other Newport mansions, GMH is not only more affordable, but in my opinion, the most beautiful. Its private, tucked-away location makes it feel like your own magical bubble, which made our celebration even more special. We could not have imagined a better place or a better team to bring our wedding to life. Highly recommend Glen Manor House and the Russell Morin team!

s I was assigned were awesome the whole way through (Dan & Emily). They were always available for questions, changes, etc. I also did all of the tour, booking, and planning remotely (I currently live far from RI) and the planning and communication was seamless. I work in the wedding industry and I have never really worked with coordinators as awesome as them! They really went above and beyond and put so much care into making the day perfect. We got to do a real rehearsal the day before which was amazing and really helped put me at ease. The venue itself it’s stunning, and again we received so many complaints on the venue. When you book Glen Manor you also get Russell Morins Catering, which is also amazing. I was told by a handful of guests that it was the best wedding food they had ever had, which is such a huge compliment. We only had 40 people at our wedding, however the space didn’t feel empty at all—it really is great for any size wedding. I highly recommend booking Glen Manor!

— it all made our day feel so special and unforgettable.
The food and drinks were amazing. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about the passed apps and the signature cocktails — total hits.
The staff was awesome too. Our bridal attendant was especially amazing — she made sure we always had a drink in hand and brought us snacks throughout the night without us even asking.
Glen Manor also packed up extra cake, food, and even our keepsakes for us, which was such a thoughtful touch. It let us enjoy everything all over again the next day — which was perfect.
The team pulled off a super fast setup for our outdoor ceremony. It had been raining, but the second the sun came out, they jumped into action and totally made it happen. It was exactly the ceremony we dreamed of.
Huge thanks to Emily, Daniel, and Liz — they were amazing throughout the whole planning process and on the day of. They answered all our (many) questions, helped us navigate every decision, and even rolled with some last-minute changes. Everything ran so smoothly, and a ton of our guests (and our parents!) told us it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to — especially because of the great service.
We seriously can’t recommend Glen Manor enough. The food, the staff, the little details — everything was perfect. 10/10. Thanks so much to every single person that played a hand in making our day SO special.

The setting was stunning, the experience seamless, and the food was top-notch—our guests are still raving about it! We’re so grateful to have celebrated our day in such a beautiful place!

e entire Russell Morin Catering staff is unbelievable. From the food, prep, organization, and presentation, everything is very well done. Emily and Dan are the BEST. They are patient, professional, and extremely organized. They help answer the hundreds of questions from the Bride and Groom during the wedding planning process, and will eagerly jump on a phone call when needed. Our wedding day was truly a dream come true because of Emily and Dan. Their behind-the-scenes work to make everything run smoothly does not go unnoticed. It poured rain for our wedding day, and Dan was right there with us on the day of to ensure a seamless, stress-free evening. Another shoutout to the Newlywed Attendants assigned to the Bride and Groom. They both were outstanding! I highly recommend Glen Manor House and Russell Morin Catering for your special day!
Thank you to the staff at Russell Morin Catering for making our wedding the best day of our lives. It was truly magical!

I do want to give a huge shout out to Dan for being with us through out the whole planning process and day of- he truly made the wedding day and wedding planning as stress free as possible!
I honestly do not know where to begin. From the venue, to Emily and Daniel. The top notch food. Service. Kindness. Coordinating vendors.
Bottom line, they helped to turn my dream ...

phase, there was no disruption in the planning and day-of execution. Emily was so cool, calm, and collected and was able to answer all of our questions leading up to the day of and helped make sure the day went as smoothly as possible based on the vision and plan that we provided to her. Her and her team were able to coordinate with all the vendors and ensure everyone knew exactly where they needed to be and what they needed to do. less. We went into our tour at Glen Manor House not knowing what to expect and were completely taken by the charm of the estate, impeccably kept gardens and breathtaking views overlooking the banks of the Sakonnet River. We absolutely loved the venue’s layout, being able to move freely through each space, each room just as enchanting as the next. We toured multiple venues in Rhode Island and truly none of them captivated us like Glen Manor - even in the rain it feels like you’re in a fairytale. Adding to its allure, we were thrilled to have Russell Morin as their exclusive catering & event team who lived up to every expectation and delivered an absolutely flawless catering & event experience.
Glen Manor House is a dream. I had a long wish-list of criteria I hoped for in a wedding venue: I wanted a venue with European-style architecture and a patio, surrounded by gardens...
, but also by the sea. Glen Manor checked all the boxes. It feels like getting married in a fairy tale. The guests loved it too; many of them had their own little photo shoots on the grounds and pier, and in the gardens. I loved that guests could wander indoors and out, seeking privacy when they wanted to. It was perfect, and our day-of coordinator (Sophia O.) did a wonderful job ensuring everything flowed smoothly.
We had the wedding of our dreams and it was becaues of this venue. This venue has EVERYTHING! The chateau is beautiful, the grounds are spectacular, and the views of the river are ...
breathtaking. There is a dock you can take photos on. Our guests repeatedly commented that this was the best venue they have ever been to. Our coordinator, Renee, was absolutely wonderful. She was professional, organized, funny, and kind. They have weddings down to a science and everything was organized and well taken care of. FYI, they recently switched to exclusively using Russel Morin Catering.
I do not even know where to start with Glen Manor House other than it is a spectacular place. From the moment I saw this place online to when I set foot on the property this place ...
has been my dream wedding venue. The ambiance, the setting and the maintenance of this property is unmatched in every way. On top of all this, Katie the coordinator there, is absolutely phenomenal. From the moment I met with her she was nothing but professional, prompt and thorough. I am so sad to hear she is retiring at the end of the year! However, you can tell she loves the Glen with all her heart and I know it will be in well kept hands going forward! I am so thankful that we chose Glen Manor as our ceremony and reception venue because it will always have a special place in my heart now. If you are on the fence about the Glen take this as your sign to book this venue. It truly is a hidden Rhode Island gem in every way. Our friends and family are still talking about the venue a month later! Thank you Glen Manor for the most amazing day.

hing 50+ venues in New England and visiting ~10, the Glen Manor House was by far our favorite.. hands down. We worked closely with Katie who has been with GMH for years and was a big part of the reason why we moved forward with them. Katie is incredibly professional, warm-hearted, easy (and fast!) to communicate with, and knows how to run a wedding like no other. I am so, so happy that we decided to get married at Glen Manor House, and cannot recommend this venue and team enough!

The venue was a perfect mix of indoor and outdoor areas to socialize and enjoy. It is set back in a neighborhood, so there is no outside noise that you are competing with. Lastly, it is right on the water, with a dock set right in front of the property to enjoy. Our guests had nothing but good things to say about the evening. Would highly recommend Glen Manor House to anyone!

beautiful grounds and an incredible water view. Our guests were so impressed with the venue and loved everything about it! Everyone loved the beauty, flow and the indoor/outdoor flexibility and could not have more nice things to say about it. We really loved that everyone could truly enjoy themselves, whether that meant getting down on the dance floor, conversing in one of the dinner rooms or enjoying the beautiful sunset and later moon views outside. Working with Katie was an absolute pleasure! She is such a nice person and amazing to work with. She helped us every step of the way in planning , was readily available whenever we needed to speak to her and she provided rapid responses to our e-mails. She took care of all of our items that we dropped off for decorations such as pictures and signs. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect and we HIGHLY recommend and thank Katie & the Glen Manor House!

is so professional and experienced and her guidance was incredibly valuable. She responded to our many, many questions incredibly promptly, and was flexible and accommodating with all the personal touches we wanted to add to our day. She was dedicated to our vision, worked with all our vendors, and executed flawlessly. All with a calm and welcoming demeanor. Even though she manages so many weddings, she made us feel like we were her only wedding. We really felt like royalty on our wedding day. I don’t know how she does it!

s it like a well-oiled machine. You just feel like royalty the second you walk in. The high ceilings of spacious rooms that then open up to the ocean and bright gardens are magnificent. There is a very large bridal suite and you are allowed on the property three hours prior to the event so we had plenty of time to hang out and do some pictures before. They have all tables and chairs on site. You need to hire a caterer to come in from their approved list.

When the trolley first pulled up to the venue on our wedding day, I was overcome with emotion by how beautiful everything looked. I ran into Katie inside and she gave me a big hug and was genuinely excited for our wedding to take place. This was when I knew that the day was going to be as perfect as I imagined.
Everything ran seamlessly thanks to Katie and all our guests were in awe of how beautiful the venue was. If we had to go back and do it all again we would choose Glen Manor House as our venue in a heartbeat.

We had our ceremony on site, facing the bay, surrounded by their stunning gardens- it was breathtaking. Cocktail hour on the covered terrace was perfect, and the flow into the reception was seamless. I was worried about the separate rooms for dining to start, but it worked really well in allowing guests to get out of their seats to dance and be social after dinner was over. Katie is SECOND TO NONE. She served as the day of coordinator and made sure everything ran smoothly- there were not hiccups that I was aware of! Just as it should be! Thank you for being the perfect setting for a perfect wedding day.

I was planning the wedding while being in Arizona and did not have a wedding planner so I truly relied on Katie. She always made me feel comfortable and supported no matter what questions or requests I had. She is a true professional and also a genuinely kind person. She put all my worries to rest and I did not have a single worry on my wedding day because I knew that Katie would ensure everything looked beautiful and ran smoothly. Katie is the type of person you wish you had as a best friend or Coworker because she makes even the most difficult tasks feel approachable and instills a sense of calm when you need it most. I had the most perfect wedding day and it’s truly thanks to Katie and all the hard work and dedication she puts forward.

It allowed us to place everything we were thinking of bit by bit! Katie was extremely communicative, getting back to us almost immediately and made sure my whole day flowed perfectly! She coordinated all vendors and made sure everything was set up exactly the way we wanted it!! Honestly, our wedding went flawlessly thanks to Katie and the manager of our caterer! Without them, our wedding wouldn't have turned out half as organized as it was! the stonework outside- the whole building is a work of art. I have been to countless weddings and no venue was as breathtaking as the Glen. My guests came from far and wide, all over the country, and I had many of them state that the Glen was the most magical venue they have ever been to. They said it felt like you were in a fairytale. If you are looking for a unique and romantic wedding venue- the Glen is for you! Plus- you can’t beat the gardens, waterview, and pictures on the dock!
Now Katie was a godsend. She met with me, my husband and our families multiple times to show us the venue. She was accommodating and was happy to answer all questions. As the wedding got closer she gave me guidance and ideas on how to execute my last part of wedding planning. She even helped with the ever dreaded seating chart. She was always cheerful and positive through my entire experience. On the day of my wedding it was no different. She coordinated drop offs for all our extra items (i.e. pictures, card box, etc.) and ensured it all got placed. She coordinated with all our vendors and made me feel confident that I would not need to do or worry about anything the day of the wedding. Throughout our reception, she checked in with my husband and I and made sure we had everything that we needed. She was one of the main players in making our wedding day perfect. Please do yourself a favor and book the Glen Manor!
Our daughter, Leah, had her wedding reception at Glen Manor on October 2. We are still in the afterglow of an amazing experience. Katie was phenomenal in working with us through a...
ll stages of the event - from planning to the big day. She is a professional and left no detail unaddressed. She offered plenty of ideas, steered us through all of the decisions, and was informative and responsive to all of our questions along the way (which was a huge relief as ours was a destination wedding). Katie's vendor recommendations were always on point. Katie and her team were amazing and we give her five stars (ten if the Knot would let us). Katie is a truly professional and we were in good hands!
Glen Manor was gorgeous. Our guests are still raving at the premises, the grounds and the atmosphere on that magic day. Everything was spotless and shined brightly.
As parents, we couldn't have been more pleased. Katie and the venue were perfect. What a memorable night!!
