Glimmer Hair and Makeup

The women from Glimmer Hair and Makeup worked with us for my wedding this summer. They were excellent! There was a tropical storm headed our way and we were not sure if the Pier ceremony that was planned would be able to happen. They assured us that they would make sure we are prepared for whatever was to come. I planned to have my hair down and have extensions, but Brittany suggested that I put it up in order to combat the probable wind that we would be experiencing during the ceremony. I love what they did with my hair in the end! The makeup artist, Caitie, was aware that I prefer a natural look. She made sure that my makeup was seen in pictures but not overwhelming. My entire wedding party was very happy with their hair and makeup as well, and the ladies worked quickly and efficiently. I highly recommend Glimmer Hair and Makeup for your weddings or other events!

Glimmer did an AMAZING job on my wedding day. They absolutely nailed my hair and makeup. Not only that, but all 15 of the women in my getting ready crew (mom, sister, MIL, sister-in-law, niece, cousin, friends) were SO happy with their hair and makeup as well. The Glimmer team wad friendly, professional, and so lovely. Highly recommend!

I found Glimmer in July of 2020 through my wedding coordinator while searching for hair and makeup for my May 2021 wedding in Duck, NC. Their impressive portfolio on social media and their website sold me, and conversations with other vendors approving of their work sealed the deal! We had Lauren do my makeup and my mom’s makeup, and Livy did 3 bridesmaid’s hair. I did a trial when I was visiting the Outer Banks in August 2020. My wedding was not for another 10 months, but Lauren was super accommodating, professional, and friendly. Before my wedding, I changed the style/look that I wanted, and Lauren CRUSHED it day of! I had to put a lot of trust in her since we didn’t get a second trial and the first trial was 10 months earlier, but she did an amazing job of understanding what I wanted. My makeup lasted all day, night, and I even slept in it and it looked great in the morning lol. It lasted through MANY tears as well! My mom also loved her makeup. Livy listened to what all three of my bridesmaid’s wanted and pulled them off impeccably. Lauren and Livy traveled to our venue and made the getting ready process easy and fun. I used glimmer for myself and my bridal parties hair + makeup! We had Kat who did our make up mollie who did our hair. They both did a wonderful job and are very kind and friendly. Kat is very knowledgable about makeup and has an airbrush machine which was a win for myself and my mom who wanted it. She took the time to teach us about he makeup she was using when we loved it and is just easy going and fun to talk to! We all looked beautiful. Mollie is also a sweetheart and made all of our visions come to life. I allowed my bridal party to pick their hairstyle so she did something a little different on everyone and was able to mesh their Inso into the perfect style. I also love that we were able to have them come to our location since we rented a beach house. I definitely recommend!

Mollie and Livy did an amazing job on our hair and makeup for my wedding day. They were so fun and laidback to work with. They made sure that me and my bridesmaids loved our looks and felt confident! I honestly felt so beautiful and couldn't have been happier with my choice in choosing Glimmer for my wedding day!

My fiancé and I got engaged in January of 2019 and had been planning our October 2020 wedding for over a year when COVID 19 hit. We decided in June, with 127 days to go until our wedding date, to change our plans entirely to best accommodate the safety of our guests. Needless to say, I was a bit overwhelmed. You really have to trust in reviews when planning a wedding from 270 miles away with no time to allow for trials, but you can absolutely trust in these reviews! I hardly ever wear makeup and I was super nervous about trying airbrush for the very first time on my actual wedding day, but Stephanie made me look and feel absolutely perfect. We had two makeup artists come to our rental house to do makeup on 12 women and the whole process went perfectly. It was like they were able to read our minds and make all of us look exactly the way that we envisioned. I have endless good things to day about Glimmer, hire them, you won’t be disappointed.

Not only did mollie and Lauren do an amazing job on the hair and make up, they were a blast to have at the house while getting ready. We all enjoyed conversing with them and were so happy with the finished products. This was a last minute wedding that got moved to obx because of Covid, even with short notice, no time for a trial, and a large group, Mollie made me feel more beautiful than ever before. She is extremely attentive in replying to emails and texts and calls and she does an amazing job! Look no further, you will not regret hiring this vendor.

Mollie did a fantastic job for my wedding. I did two hair trials with her, and for the wedding day, she did my hair, 5 bridesmaids, my mom, and my mother in law's hair too. Everyone was really happy with their hair, which says a lot! She was punctual, responsive and a lot of fun to have around the day of the wedding! The salon is absolutely beautiful, although we did have Mollie come to our airbnb due to logistics. I'm super happy we went with Glimmer!

The Glimmer girls were absolutely perfect! They were so kind and flexible, and absolutely EVERYONE was pleased with how their hair and make up turned out! I cannot recommend Glimmer enough!!!

Lisa Barcus was amazing and made my bridal party feel beautiful in their own skin. Being from so far away, it was impossible for us to come in for a trial. I love the "natural look" and was hoping that she could help me with that. It was everything I could have asked for and more. I got my hair and makeup done, my mother got her hair, and my maid of honor got her hair done. We enjoyed an alcoholic beverage, chatted about the future and enjoyed each others company.

Livy did up dos/hair for the bridesmaids, myself, and the 2 moms (mom of bride and mom of groom). She did a phenomenal job- we all looked amazing and our hair held up even with the crazy wind by the ocean. Kim did our makeup and everyone looked gorgeous!! I felt so beautiful, she did such an amazing job on my makeup. Livy and Kim worked so well together and everything turned out amazing. These women are so talented at what they do. Thank you Livy, Kim and Glimmer!

I liked my hair, but I was the only one. I guess I had an image in mind of mimosa’s and my family and bridal party having a good time while getting pampered. There was only one hair dresser, the makeup artist was late. My bridesmaid and cousin actually took her make up off and redid it herself. My mother and mother in-law both redid their hair. The only reason I gave two stars is because no one said anything, except when my cousin had to ask the woman who did the makeup to blend it so there wasn’t a line. Not worth the exorbitant amount of money spent.

Lisa from Glimmer was amazing! I have fine hair, and she was able to make it look like I had serious volume with a low up-do. Better yet, we got married in a Nor'easter with winds up to 30 mph during our photos - hair barely moved! Makeup stayed in place all night as well, even the false lashes. I would 100% recommend Glimmer, sweetest staff and very easy to work with.

There was no one else I would want for my hair and make up for my big day! I coordinated my wedding date around Molly's availability. Amanda and her were wonderful! we were perfectly on time and i felt and looked amazing!

Stephanie hooked us UP- my maid of honor and I got our hair and makeup done for my wedding 8-4-18, and she did AMAZING. My wedding and reception were outside and it was 85 degrees and humid- and after four hours of dancing my hair and make up were still on point! She was also really fun to hang with before the wedding, which is great when your nerves are out of control.

Mollie and the girls at Glimmer were OUTSTANDING! They came to our rental house (also our wedding venue) the day of the wedding to do all the bridesmaids and both moms hair and makeup. I can't say enough how much of a treat this was to not have to pile in a car the morning of the wedding, but instead to be able to sit around in my robe and have them come to us! They were very accommodating and professional, and so so sweet! The airbrush makeup and lashes were a splurge, but totally worth it! My makeup still looked flawless at midnight. My floral hair piece arrived from the florist a little differently than we were expecting, by Mollie didn't miss a beat - she stayed calm and made some adjustments to it so it would be exactly what I had envisioned! Mollie and her team are amazing and I would highly recommend them to make you and your bridal party feel and look like royalty on your big day!

Mollie and Stephanie traveled to our location to do my hair and makeup - they are awesome! They are both super friendly, personable, and very talented. Both my sister and I absolutely loved our hair and makeup- it looked amazing. They arrived on time and were finished within an hour or so for me and my sister. As a side note, I reached out to 4 different beauty vendors in OBX on the same day and Mollie was the very first to respond (the next day) and assist me. Of the others, 2 responded about a week later and the 4th didn't respond for almost a week and a half. My decision was made from the beginning and it was an excellent choice. Highly recommend Glimmer!

Wow! We used GLIMMER for our son's and daughter's weddings and they are fantastic! They are so nice and very open to listening to your needs. Our hair and makeup couldn't have been any prettier. Love them!!

I can not say enough good things about Glimmer, the staff, & Mollie! They are all INCREDIBLE! Always responded promptly, kept in contact, answered questions, etc. I met Mollie, in person for the first time, at my hair and makeup trial, she made me look beautiful! We discussed the things we would do on the wedding day, discussed other wedding plans, and had many other wonderful conversations. Well, I did things a little different and had a ceremony in OBX on May 26th and the following weekend, June 2nd, I had a reception, back home, in Ohio. Mollie offered to come all the way to Ohio for me and she did. She did my grandma, step-mom, and mom's hair on both days as well as my hair and makeup! She is the SWEETEST person ever! She made me look STUNNING and everyone else too! Honestly, one of my FAVORITE people to work with! You can not go wrong with Glimmer, I promise! THANK YOU SO MUCH GLIMMER & MOLLIE! :)

I scheduled hair and makeup for me and my mom on my wedding day at our rental house. Lisa showed up on time, and did an amazing job. I opted for the airbrush makeup and I'm really glad I did, my makeup stayed put all day and night despite it being hot! I don't wear much makeup, and Lisa was able to still make me look natural. My hair was also amazing and stayed put until the next day. I would definitely recommend Glimmer!

Everything about Glimmer Hair and Makeup was top notch. Communication with them prior to the wedding was great. They responded quickly and answered all of my questions. Mollie was extremely friendly throughout the entire process and was so amazing on wedding day. She was fun and easy to work with. All of my girls loved their hairstyles!!! I would 100% recommend!!!

I had a great experience working with Glimmer Hair & Makeup for my big day! Through emails, I communicated with Mollie to set up the hair appointments for my wedding party, my mom, a family friend, and myself for my big day. Mollie responded quickly and was very helpful since I had plenty of questions. On the day of the wedding, we had Lisa and Livy as our hairstylists, who were both very friendly and knowledgeable! All the ladies had different pictures of what they wanted to do with their hair and Lisa and Livy offered their expert opinions and made those hairstyles come to life. Everyone looked beautiful and the hairstyles lasted through the ceremony and all the dancing at the reception too! Lisa completed my hairstyle and makeup for the wedding and I loved it! I couldn’t have asked for two nicer and talented hairstylists to be a part of my wedding day team!

There are honestly not enough stars to rate the Glimmer Hair & Makeup crew. For starters I literally messaged them 2 weeks before my wedding day with a hope and a prayer that they had someone available to do my makeup. They worked their magic & I had Lisa come to the house my ceremony and reception was being held at and she was absolutely amazing! It honestly felt like one of my best friends was doing my makeup our conversation just flowed so easily and by the end of my session I felt like I've known her for years! She applied my airbrush makeup and I got so many compliments on it all day & night. I loved it so much it was honestly bitter sweet having to take it off. I couldn't recommend Lisa enough she was awesome; you are definitely in wonderful hands if you have her. The price of the makeup and the travel fee was worth every penny!

Glimmer was amazing to work with. I live in Columbus, Ohio, and got married in the OBX. Glimmer was easy to communicate with, and was the best bang for my budget. The stylist came out to the wedding site for our hair and makeup. She was on time, had all of her own supplies, and was so personable!! She made me look more beautiful than I ever imagined. Her name was Lisa, and I highly recommend her!!!

Glimmer was the best fit for my budget and my style. Plus, they came to me on the wedding day rather than shipping my whole party to a salon. Not only did my hair and makeup look flawless, Lisa and her crew nailed the mothers and the bridesmaids. Everyone looked beautiful, but still like themselves. I did a trial with Glimmer first which I highly recommend to refine your look. Lisa was my stylist and she was very open to hearing feedback and adjusting things until I was happy. She also is very fun to work with and we had a blast while we got ready.

My husband and I got married two weekends ago in the OBX and used Glimmer Hair & Makeup for the special event. Our stylist/artist, Stephanie, was absolutely AMAZING! Our wedding was an early morning event, and she arrived at our beach home at 5:30am ready to go! She was able to do my hair exactly as I had envisioned and made it so that it stayed in place throughout my entire wedding (even after climbing dunes in the wind, it still looked perfect!). My sister (maid of honor) has extremely unruly, thick hair and she was able to make her look like a princess! At the last minute, my bridesmaids decided that they wanted to do some makeup and she was able to accommodate this, as well. This girl is truly an exceptional artist and worth every single penny! I would highly recommend Glimmer Hair & Makeup for your next event! :)

Glimmer Hair & Makeup is truely the BEST!!! They came out to do my bridal hair and make up for me and my bridal party despite the threat of Hurricane Matthew!!! Everyone was so happy, calming, and accomodating on the morning of my wedding. Lisa did my hair and makeup, I could not have asked for it to come out better, I felt more beautiful than I thought possible. I had bought extensions to use and was a little nervous about how they would look, and they by far exceeded my expectations. All of my bridesmaids looked absolutely stunning, I could not have asked for a better glam team!!

Our hair and makeup survived a soaking wet wedding ceremony in the rain on the beach AND an after party dip in the pool! Our false lashes even stayed put! Mollie and her team did an AMAZING job to make sure our hair stayed in place and our makeup wasn't going anywhere! We all looked and felt beautiful thanks to Mollie and her team!

I didn't have a specific idea of how I wanted to look, but I loved the style of all the brides I saw on Glimmer's webpage, so I knew I could trust my bridal look in their hands! When my hair and makeup were done and I looked in the mirror, I could not believe how beautiful they made me!!! I've never felt prettier in my life, and cannot possibly express my appreciation for the work they did! My bridal party looked stunning as well! One word, Bridgette!! I couldn't have asked for a better experience with getting dolled up for my big day. Bridgette was amazing!! I got so many compliments on my hair and makeup. I had gone for a trial prior to my wedding day and she was patient and knowledgeable. For someone that doesn't wear makeup often, she suggested a lighter foundation so it didn't feel cakey. It held up beautifully when my sunny beach wedding turned into a monsoon. She expertly applied my clip in extensions and my hair looked just as perfect at the end of the night as when I left the salon. She expertly handled all of my bridesmaids and did it with a smile! I would definitely recommend Glimmer Weddings (and request Bridgette!!)

I used Glimmer! Mollie was fantastic and did exactly what I had visioned, but somehow it was so much prettier and perfect than what I had visioned. Mollie and her team styled my bridesmaids (6) and mothers hair. We weren't pushed for time, it was relaxing and stress-free. Everything looked amazing. I was so pleased with the outcomes. My hair was a side curled some up some down. It was stunning. My hair doesn't hold curl AT ALL and it held up the entire day/night and even into the next day. It was also SUPER windy the day of my wedding, so that says something! Glimmer (Mollie) also did my hair and makeup for my maternity photoshoot a year later. "You can learn how to style hair and do updo's, but the passion for it is something raw and pure talent, Glimmer has just that!"

I used Glimmer Weddings for hair for me, my mom, and my bridesmaids. I let my bridesmaids all select their own styles and Glimmer was very accommodating and did a wonderful job on the various styles. They came to us day-of which made the process stress-free. I also changed up what I wanted from the trial to the actual wedding day and they both turned out amazing. Would definitely recommend them to anybody for wedding hair/make-up!

I used Glimmer for my whole wedding party (10 people) for hair and makeup and they did an awesome job! At my trial, I tried something a little different that I ended up not liking, so I was a little nervous on the day of since I chose a style that wasn't at all similar to my trial, but it turned out great! Mollie was great and very accessible for questions during the planning process and on the day of. We ended up adding a few people last-minute on the day-of and they easily accommodated us (good thing we started early!) One of the nicest things about Glimmer was that they were very creative and didn't require us to bring pictures. I've had my hair done before where the salon requires a photo, and I'm not a hair expert so I never know what to choose that will work for my hair (my hair isn't very long) so I appreciated Glimmer's creativity. I used Glimmer for my hair and make-up for myself and my bridesmaids and flower girl. Loved their work. They were very creative, listened to the ideas I had and made suggestions of their own. They helped my bridesmaids pick out styles that worked with their visions. They were flexible with our needs. My sister only wanted lashes and they were accommodating. My mom came in just for lashes and ended up going for a hair style and make-up application. She is very particular and hard to please in this are but was very happy with the outcome. Our styles lasted all day!
