My Fiance and I took dance lessons at Go Dance prior to our wedding to have a choreographed beautiful dance. I cannot recommend Lizeth enough - she is amazing to work with. We loved our dance and Lizeth was so fun to work with each lesson. She was great at going with our pace and making us feel comfortable!
We went to Go Dance North and selected one of their wedding dance packages. Our instructor David met with us for a series of private lessons to learn a new dance style and came up with some fun choreography. He worked with our idea to do a slow dance that transitioned into a faster dance style as well as helped us cut our music. After our lessons, we felt much more confident about our first dance. It went so well, and our guests were super impressed. Our first dance turned out to be one of the highlights of the night! We would highly recommend Go Dance to any couples!
My husband has two left feet and no rhythm, so I signed us up for lessons at Go Dance. We met with Beth and she put him at ease and made him laugh so I knew we were golden! Beth was the best, she taught us an easy but pretty dance and she wasn't afraid to change things up if she could tell we weren't getting it!
This review is for the Go Dance in South Lamar. For some reason it never occurred we needed dance lessons so we were extremely nervous going in. We had our first meeting which was a consultation lesson and it was great! Our instructor let us know we looked great and had potential. She worked with us and we felt like we could be very honest with her. For our last lesson (we only took 4) she recorded us while she gave us notes so we could practice at home!
My fiancé (now husband) had surprised me with dance lessons a few years back when we were dating as a birthday gift, so we knew they had wonderful dance lessons in general. We wanted to feel confident during our first dance and do a dance a bit more interesting than the “middle school sway” so we decided to do a first dance package for our wedding. We are so glad we did. We worked with Tommy at the North Location and did 6 lessons total, and he helped create a routine that fit our first dance song and taught us some moves that will help us when we dance at future events, too. We had a lot of fun in the process and our first dance went great. If on a budget, they also offer a one class workshop for first dances from time to time, which we also did, and that is fantastic too.
We worked with David Miller at the North location. We originally were going to have a friend of mine choreograph our first dance, but some things came up, and she had to cancel on us five weeks before our wedding. Enter freak-out time! She suggested we look at Go Dance for lessons instead, and we went in for a free consultation. We met with David to go over our song, and even in that free consultation, he taught us the basic steps of the Venetian waltz. He is so fun and such an amazing teacher, and we booked him for a package of five lessons. I had a little dance experience from musical theater days, but my fiance...not so much. As in, he never even went to a high school dance and it took two years of dating before I could convince him to do more than come out to sway at the slow dances. ;) But by the end of only five lessons (one a week), my fiance (and I) had grown in confidence so much, and we had a full routine!
Our song was in no way tradtional (Rains of Castamere for you Game of Thrones fans), but David loved it! And it certainly shocked our guests--both with the song selection and the fact that we actually DANCED. Everyone was so blown away by how beautiful our dance was, and there is no way we would have been able to do it without David's instruction!
My one tip for going to Go Dance for private lessons--try to go earlier in the day so there aren't as many people around. You may even get a whole classroom to yourself! But, if you have to go in the evenings, you'll still be able to get an amazing lesson in, even if you're sharing the floor with other couples.
My husband and I took 8 lessons from Mira. We are not very coordinated and have no dancing experience. She was very patient and created a routine that fit our dance level and the song we picked. She even had the song edited so that it was shorter. Everyone was very impressed with our first dance.
My husband and I were skeptical of taking dance lessons and learning a choreographed dance for our first dance on our wedding day, but after meeting Reggie, we were sold! He made dancing so much fun and easy to learn. We preformed our choreographed dance at our wedding and people were BLOWN away! So many people at our wedding were literally brought to tears because they said they were so moved by our dance. I highly recommend Go Dance for dance lessons and specifically Reggie to teach you!
My fiancé and I decided to take dance lessons for the first dance. We were able to find a Groupon for Go dance. We attended classes at the location in South Austin.
The instructors were fun and knowledgeable. They taught us three basic styles and helped us choose which style would be best for us based on our song choice.
We had fun dancing and practicing. It was a small class so the instructors were hands on and very attentive throughout the class.
We planned to take lessons for our first dance. My now husband was referred to Go Dance, so I gave them a call. They told me that we could schedule a free consultation and decide if we wanted to set up a schedule of lessons after that. Beforehand we had decided we wanted to have one on one instruction and not be in a group. We were paired with Taylor Gray and he was great, we let him hear the music we had selected and he helped us figure out the type of dance we should do. Our song was You Are Mine, by Nat King Cole, so it was slow and romantic. It's a song that many people have never heard, which made it that more special to us. He told us a fox trot would be the best and we trusted him. We learned a little choreography even at our consultation and we decided to book a set of 6 sessions to learn our dance and perfect it. Every time we came to the studio Taylor was always pleasant and wonderful to work with. He made us feel special and really pushed us to be better and we wanted to! I would definitely recommend Go Dance to learn choreography to any couple and I really think doing the private lessons is best, you get personal attention and get a lot more out of it! We loved the experience so much, that as my wedding gift from my husband he bought a package to go back and do group and private lessons as well. Can't wait to go back!
My now-husband and I took dance lessons from Go Dance for our first dance, since we wanted to do more than just slow-dance-sway. We had Bernie as our dance instructor, and learned lots of good moves to incorporate into our first dance. We did not want to have a fully choreographed dance, but rather we wanted to learn sets of moves and have the flexibility to add them in whenever we wanted.
The lessons were a bit more expensive than I thought they would be, especially for only three lessons of 50 minutes each. However, this is my only complaint -- Bernie was great, and we learned a lot. We also practiced the moves on our own time, which made our lessons as efficient as possible. We would show Bernie issues that we were having, and receive correcting comments, and then learn new moves. It was worth the money to have the confidence for our first dance, which went very smoothly!
We booked a block of three one hour dance lessons for our first dance. Other than some confusion on double booking and Go Dance asking for additional money from us, we had a great experience with our dance instructor. Our instructor was named Sarah Berens and in just 3 short classes, she was able to teach us a lovely dance which complimented our chosen song perfectly and made myself and my husband look like we actually knew what we were doing so a big thanks to Sarah Berens!!! An amazing Instructor.
My husband & I truly enjoyed our lessons. Amanda & Sarah were great to work with. We learned so much in just 3 lessons. Our only regret was not starting sooner and taking more lessons, b/c we enjoyed the learning process! Added nice detail to our special day.
