Built in 2004, Goels Plaza is the largest privately owned banquet facility in North Carolina. The location was not only chosen for its convenience to the Triangle and RDU airport, but also to provide privacy for the events held here. Nestled into a business area, it is quiet and secluded. Goels Plaza is the hidden gem of the Triangle.

Sounds like a logistical nightmare, right? Not at Goel's Plaza. We are so happy that we choose to have our wedding and reception here. With such a large guest list, obviously size was a limiting factor. If you have a large wedding, this place is big enough. If you have a small wedding, they have multiple banquet halls of varying sizes, so I still would recommend you use this venue. This place was just perfect for us. The best thing about this venue is that they let you do whatever you want. If you want your chairs set up in a certain way, that's fine. If you want the screen for the projector here instead of there, that’s fine. If you want to take down all their artwork and put up your own, that's fine. They just say yes. We wanted a truly custom feel for our wedding, so this was so valuable to us. When we looked at other venues, especially hotels, it was like everything had to be done their way. At Goel's they ask you want you would like, and if they can accommodate it, they just do.
These guys care about your event. The professionalism they run the venue with shines through, so not only was the experience great for us, it was great for our guests as well. For example, we had several guests ask us who we hired for the bartending service because they were great. We didn't hire them. Goel's Plaza handpicked them from a company they partner with to host great events. We got high praise from our guests for this tiny detail and we did not even plan it. These kinds of things go a long way in making your special day that much more magical.
Now, we had ample time to set up for the wedding because there were no events at Goel's the day before. So, we felt great about the wedding. Our biggest concern was what the place was going to look like when we returned a few hours later for the reception. It is not that we did not trust them; it is just that we were obviously so invested in the look and feel of our event. It was not until we returned that we realized that Goel's was equally invested in the look and feel of our event. While our guests were enjoying a cocktail hour in the hallway, we snuck into the banquet hall through the backdoor to see the event space. For me, this was kind of a make or break moment because I did not know what we were going to see. What we saw shocked us. Literally everything was set up. There were no workers in there, just my DJ doing a sound check. At the sweetheart table, they even laid out a few of the snacks from cocktail hour for us in case we did not have a chance to eat. I cannot even explain how happy/relieved/satisfied we felt in that moment. Hopefully, the scene speaks for itself.
We are so happy together, so I do not need to have another wedding. But I wish I could! People often say that your wedding day is so stressful and you do not really get a chance to enjoy it. That was not our experience. We had so much fun. It was a truly magical day for us thanks in no small part to the folks at Goel's Plaza. If you are reading this, that means you are considering Goel's for your event. THIS IS WHERE YOU SHOULD HAVE YOUR EVENT! Probably one of the best decisions we made in our wedding planning process.

the wedding in one ballroom, the reception in a separate ballroom, and a cocktail hour in the lounge in between both events. The price was very reasonable compared to a few other venues I was looking at in Raleigh. They allowed us to cater food from our favorite restaurant, the one that my husband actually proposed in! This really was everything we were looking for - a couple ballrooms to host both events, easy-to-deal-with service, and the right price!

All I really needed to do was coordinate with goel's plaza, a DJ, decorator, and caterer. They had everything I needed otherwise, so it saved me money on hiring an event coordinator! Here's an idea of my experience from start to finish:
About a year ago, I made an appointment and was welcomed with a friendly young lady (sorry, can't remember the name!). She gave me a tour through all of the ballrooms and customized my package based on what my wife wanted. That's when we knew it was the right choice - beautiful facility, great care for our needs, and offered most of the items we sought. She even said that they offer thank you gifts available for our guests!
Thereafter, the event coordinators sent us estimates within a couple days and answered all of our inquiries in a timely manner. My wife really appreciated their ability to follow-up on time. We came in to sign the contract a few days thereafter, took advantage of one their discounts going on, and worked with the young lady to design the layout. She had substantial experience to recommend creative ideas to make my wife's dream a reality!
As our ceremonies got closer, we were given a few free hours during the week for us to set-up. That was extremely nice and convenient. On the days of our events, the staff and event coordinator were sincerely congratulating my wife and I, and took great care of our families. We really appreciated the genuine hospitality. My wife hired a day-of event coordinator to do all of the running around.
After the event, they mailed thank you cards and sent us our deposits back. I don't really know how else to say thank you back, other than share my entire wedding experience to you all. It was flawless. Look forward to working with the goel's plaza team again!

rything, yet allow me to bring my own food and DJ. I was also able to have my wedding in one ballroom and reception in another ballroom, which made a seamless transition for my guests. The price is reasonable as well. As for service, the staff went above and beyond. I had guests come from out of town, so Goels Plaza went the extra mile to negotiate rates, transportation, and breakfast with a nearby hotel. That was quite impressive and saved time/money for my family and friends who were all able to stay together!

hen we found out 2 weeks before the wedding our wedding rep would be working somewhere else . Management never told me when I went in for meetings I had to ask ! But what really bothered me was that so much information that we were told Yes to was changed and things started taking a negative turn since we were working with a new wedding rep . Management did not take into account that wrong information was given to us and he didn't even try to work with us knowing the correct information wasn't given . For example we were told that for extra hours for rehearsal would be $25 per hour but that night we had to get a extra hour and it was $100.00 ! And even after we paid 100.00 the rude Owner came in while our wedding party was leaving and cleaning up sayings time is up and starting cutting the lights off and on ! And even yelled at my Fiancée ! The owner is the issue at this venue the staff is amazing but everything has to go through him and he doesn't understand the needs of clients or has compassion ! And the day of the wedding he moved our cups which we were told we could leave at the bar station and no one could find them ,found out he gave us a different pack of cups (that had been opened)but couldn't tell us were our original cups were I assume he misplaced them ! But to make matters worse we paid for additional hours for the wedding since we were advised to do ,so the event could run smoothly . But we ended up not using the additional hours the owner was passive at first saying he didn't know if we could get our money back because it hasn't been done in the past and he will leave it up to the accountant . So days later he used the excuse of my dj leaving 5mins after the wedding party left to not give us our money back ! He is very stingy and selfish I don't recommend anyone going to this place especially if you want good customer service ! When I look back at my wedding day these events truly put a bad taste in my mouth because the lack of respect and customer service we received ! And the owner is even rude to his staff so you know he has No respect for others ! He talks down to them and even refers to them as young Girls one time when we were in a meeting granted these are grown women ! Save your time and money and go to a venue that has more class and respect !

This venue served us well! While this site says that Goels Plaza hosts at least 400 people, I had my wedding in one of their smaller ballrooms that comfortably fits 150-200 guests....
The other ballrooms are certainly bigger (my high school prom was held in the giant ballroom!), but my gathering was at a smaller scale. Not only was Goels Plaza's hospitality to our guests top notch, they had all the resources to make my vision of the wedding come to reality. Awesome venue!!

ut 450 people at our wedding. I'm pretty picky with my food, decorations, and am big on saving money. For food, they allowed me to bring my favorite restaurant! A lot of hotels that we got quotes from made us purchase food from the hotel itself. Goels Plaza was flexible with my husband and I. As for decorations, they let my decorators and I come in during the weekdays to set up, without any additional cost. As for the cost, they definitely beat hotels by a fraction of our previous quotes! If all goes well with my husband and I, I'll be having my baby shower there as well. Perhaps not in the big ballroom where the wedding was, but probably in the pretty green ballroom in the front!
