Gohar Makeup

From start to finish, Gohar was an absolute dream to work with. She was responsive to all my questions, transparent with all pricing, and just overall a delightful person to work with. She did an absolutely AMAZING job with my makeup and the makeup of ten other women on my wedding day. Literally everyone looked stunning and raved about how incredible her services were. We all wanted more natural looking makeup and she absolutely nailed it. Thank you, Gohar, for making our special day extra special!!

Gohar was great! I tend to look very squinty when I wear eyeliner, and she was able to use different shadows to achieve the same dramatic effect without making my eyes look half closed! She also advised me ahead of time to buy a finishing powder which was genius for making my face less shiny in the pictures... my photographer actually ended up ordering one for himself to have on hand for other weddings!

Gohar is AMAZING. She made me and all my girls look beautiful for my wedding. She uses colors that complimented everyone’s skin tone and everyone looked great. We mostly did soft/natural glam looks which turned out amazing!

I am a natural redhead with fair skin and freckles and knew I did not want to pack on makeup for my wedding. I wanted my natural skin texture and color enhanced, as well as my eyes. Gohar was recommended to me for my wedding as a "natural" MUA. When I had my trial with her, I showed her a picture that was a bit heavy handed and she delivered it perfectly. On the wedding day, I asked her to switch it up to a slightly lighter look and she did a perfect job. All of my bridesmaids felt gorgeous and loved their looks. Gohar is kind, patient (sorry for mixing it up last minute!), and absolutely amazing at makeup. She even impressed my MIL, who is very particular about her makeup. Could not recommend her enough!

Gohar made everyone glow at our wedding! She is so sweet, and really listens to her client's preferences. If you're looking for a natural, dewy look, I highly recommend Gohar! She's a true artist.

Gohar is the best makeup artist in Charlottesville, if not the nation! And she's so sweet, professional, and easygoing. I found her at the recommendation of my wedding photographer, and she's since done my makeup three times! Each time, I've looked stunning. She's mastered the natural, clean, flawless look that me and my big bridal party all wanted. We were a diverse group, and everyone looked like the best version of themselves. And it all stayed put despite the rain and humidity, tears of joy, and sweat on the dance floor. She's very responsive over email, but she books up fast so be sure to snag her early!

Gohar was amazing and so sweet. I wanted natural natural glam makeup for me and my bridesmaids and she delivered. My freckles were still visible which is exactly what I wanted. Will be reaching out to her for future special occassions. Highly recommend!

Gohar was amazing!! She was a breeze to communicate with, was wonderful handling our postponed wedding due to COVID, and made me feel the prettiest I've ever felt. I spent a ton of time looking at Instagram pics & reading reviews to find the right make-up artist & after the wedding, my family and I agreed that her work was absolutely wonderful and beautiful. I wouldn't have changed a thing! I would absolutely recommend, especially to someone who is looking for a more natural look on their wedding day that also stands out and looks beautiful in pictures!

I was lucky enough to find Gohar for my big day and I was more than thrilled with her work! I've had my make up done as a bridesmaid and the looks were always over the top and I didn't feel or look like me. I wanted a natural look that would show my favorite features (blue eyes and freckles) and Gohar delivered! She has unbelievable talent and I was blown away for my wedding day for myself, bridesmaids, and mothers!

Gohar did my wedding makeup along with 7 bridesmaids and my flower girl in early June. She has such a lovely, calm energy that really helped relax me on the big day -- which was huge for an anxious bride like me! Her work is beautiful, and she really listens to what you want and how you want to look on your wedding day. All of my bridesmaids loved their looks as well -- thank you, Gohar! Wish we could do it all over again.

Gohar was so kind, calm, professional - and my wedding makeup was beautiful!! She is texting all of the wise, and even EXTRA precautions for safety during Covid. I felt safe and relaxed. She listened to my ideas for my makeup and gave some helpful ideas from her expertise - and the result was wonderful! Plus my crew definitely has some big personalities - and she rolled with it all. Gohar did my makeup for my August 22nd wedding. Originally our wedding was in April and she was very flexible when we had to switch to the new date due to covid restrictions. I did my trial and actual wedding makeup in Gohar's home studio which is bright and relaxing. The makeup was beautiful in my photos and she is very professional and polite. Gohar is WONDERFUL! Before I found Gohar, I had done a trial with another makeup artist and was unhappy with the outcome. It was 1 month before the wedding and I wasn’t able to come to VA for a trial before my wedding (I live in NY). I was SO nervous that whoever I booked next would get it wrong, too. But THANK GOD I booked Gohar! She suggested that we still do a trial the day before the wedding for my rehearsal, which was brilliant. I showed her a couple pictures of what I liked and she NAILED it. It was the perfect balance of natural and glam, and it lasted ALL night. Tears, dancing, eating, drinking, kissing and hugging were no match for Gohar’s work! The bridal party looked BEAUTIFUL as well, and everyone loved their makeup. She even made my mom CRY because she said she had never felt so beautiful in her life, but she still felt like herself. It takes someone special to do that! Gohar was a PLEASURE to work with, she was right on time (early, actually, so she could set up) and she has continued to be a pleasure since then, too! I would love the chance to work with her again, and if I were you, I wouldn’t think twice about hiring her. You’ll be glad you did!!

Gohar did my wedding makeup PERFECTLY - she listened to what I wanted and boy did she deliver! I looked beautiful and I glowed but I still looked like me and the makeup wasn't too harsh or distracting. If I ever needed to hire a makeup artist again, I would hire Gohar in a heartbeat! I also appreciated how much care she took with all 7 of my bridesmaids - I've been in weddings when make up artists don't really care about the bridesmaids, but she is not like that at all! She is so sweet and so talented - I wish I could give her more stars! One of my bridesmaids had opted to do her own makeup but seeing how wonderful everyone's makeup was she changed her mind and Gohar squeezed her in - she is that good!!

Gohar should be in Hollywood doing makeup for the stars on the movie screen, but she is in Charlottesville and you can't pass her up! I can't tell you how confident she made me feel on my wedding day and how many people commented on how great my makeup looked. She was professional, reliable, great with responding to emails, and stuck well to my schedule. I cannot recommend her enough!

Gohar was so easy to work with and was very professional. She was always easy to get in touch with and was flexible with scheduling. I hardly ever wear makeup and was afraid it would be too much, but she made my face look and feel so natural. She is truly very talented and I received so may compliments on my wedding day! Gohar was absolutely amazing. I am so happy I chose her for my wedding day makeup. I chose to go to her studio instead of her coming to me since it was just me getting makeup done. Her studio was clean and a fun setting. She was kind and easy to talk to. My makeup was beautiful and exactly what I pictured. I do wish I had had a dupe of the lipstick she used because by the end of the night after dancing, eating, drinking, etc., it had worn off a bit. But the pictures still turned out well! Definitely pick Gohar for your wedding makeup, you won't be disappointed!

Gohar is incredible! I’m so happy that I found her to do my bridal party’s makeup for my wedding. Gohar listened to what I wanted and made me feel gorgeous and confident on my wedding day and for my engagement photos. My makeup lasted the entire night and didn’t need to be touched up at all. I didn’t look fake or overdone; she does an excellent job at enhancing your natural features. My bridesmaids and the two moms also loved their makeup. My mom typically does not wear much makeup and she has mentioned several times since the wedding how much she loved her makeup and how pleased she is what how it turned out in pictures. Gohar is very responsive to emails, professional, and extremely sweet! I recommend her 100%!!

Gohar was absolutely amazing. My bridesmaids and I looks beautiful. I was looking for a natural yet picture ready look and I had trials with three other makeup artists before finding Gohar. In our first trial I fell in love with her flawless work and on the day of she so lovely and was extremely fast and efficient (all seven of my bridesmaids had their makeup done plus my mom). She is one of the kindest people I have ever worked with and went above and beyond for me and my wedding party. She traveled to not only our hotel 20 mins away but also literally came up a mountain to do our touchups before the wedding!
