the same is pretty impressive - best wedding they've attended! Charelene is the coordinator and I cannot say enough amazing things about her. She is truly a godsend and makes sure things are executed so you can have as stress-free of a day as possible. You want her on your big day! She is an expert in her craft and makes sure you are well taken care of every step of the way! You'll love the view of your ceremony, the good vibes and flow of cocktail hour, the food is AMAZING, the service team and bartenders are wonderful, the lighting and ambiance both inside and outside are beautiful. Literally do not have one single thing I did not absolutely love. Others have said this and I whole-heartedly agree - I would choose Gold Canyon over and over and over again to host my wedding or any other big event!

over the property added such a magical and romantic atmosphere to the evening. It was the perfect day! I loved that we got a variety of photos — we got sunset desert shots and also photos with LOTS of greenery! This was important to me as I am from the Pacific Northwest. And not to mention, the golf was spectacular; the groomsmen and our families had an absolute blast bonding on the course, it took the pressure of entertaining off of me in the days leading up to the wedding! This place was a major blessing to us, and if I had to do it all over again, I would choose Gold Canyon every time!

d whether it was over email, text, or phone call. Charlene ensured that our wedding planning process was seamless and everything was taken care of even on the day of the wedding. She took us to all best spots on the resort to get the most incredible photography shots. She constantly checked in to make sure we were doing okay- she would bring us drinks, food, etc. while we were running around during our reception. Charlene also ensured that our pup, who was part of our wedding day, was taken care of. You can tell that Charlene deeply cares about the work she does and creating a memorable experience for all the couples that get married there. She is an expert at this! We did have an unfortunate and unpleasant incident occur during our stay at the resort that is separate of my experience working with Charlene, so I will not mention it here at this time. But I do want to just say - Thank you, Charlene, for everything! We couldn’t have pulled this off without you. ❤️

e was gorgeous, the food was on point, the staff and Charlene (our coordinator) were incredible - I can honestly say we got to fully enjoy our entire weekend with no stress as everything was handled the weeks leading up and Charlene and her team handled all of the day-of coordination. We are eternally grateful to her! Our guests were maybe just being nice ;)… but we heard “best wedding ever” a hundred times :)

tise and her wonderful spirit and we were sold. While planning a wedding is stressful, it was a whirlwind the day of but as soon as we began the ceremony we didn’t do a dang thing. Charlene made sure that we were not only taken care of but that we actually were able to party. Pictures were done before the ceremony so afterwards we could just chill. The views are also spectacular and our families really had a great time. This venue also offered the most for their price unlike other places. Plus they have golf carts to bring you back to your rooms from the reception!!

two golf courses, a great pool area, a great cafe and bar, a decent restaurant, plus catering services for their Towne Hall wedding venue. It was a hassle for guests to get all the way out to Gold Canyon from the airport (expensive + limited rideshare availability) but once they got here we had everything we needed. The nearby town, Gold Canyon, is very limited in terms of what’s there but we were able to utilize the local nail salon, grocery store, pizza delivery, and one other restaurant (Gold Stallion) within a close radius of the resort. The rooms are dated but spacious, and guests really enjoyed the variety of hot tubs (both indoors and outdoors) and patio spaces across the different room types. The bridal suite was particularly big; we were able to host ~20 people for drinks + snacks a couple of the nights, as well as 3 different hair + makeup stations at once on the morning of the wedding. The location is absolutely gorgeous. You’re nestled in the mountains, with great views on all sides. The paths between the rooms and to the different amenities were beautiful and plant-filled, although be prepared to climb both hills and stairs to get around. The Towne Hall wedding venue near the entrance to the resort was perfect for our needs. There were multiple outdoor ceremony sites to choose from, both with mountain backdrops, as well as a small chapel (which is a great backup space in case of bad weather). The onsite coordinator took us and our photographer / videographer on a golf cart ride for sunset pictures. We were able to capture some fantastic shots up at different locations throughout the resort’s desert and mountain grounds. We had cocktail hour on the covered patio, and chose to host the reception inside the ballroom, which is such a great space. It has big picture windows, fabric-draped ceiling, chandeliers, and an installed dance floor. We were able to pick from a large selection of beautiful linens. The staff was great throughout the weekend, we had several fun bartenders and the manager Leslie was very helpful during our wedding event itself. I’m knocking off a star because of our frustrating experience working with the onsite coordinator, Charlene. We had trouble communicating with her, and there were also some mixups that felt like they might have been preventable with more attention. I hope the venue provides her more resources; we could tell she worked hard for us, but with 3 or more weddings to manage in a single weekend things just fell through the cracks. Overall, we loved having our wedding at GCGR and would recommend it as a great AZ wedding venue.

se we had some problems with communication. Charlene, the wedding coordinator, is such a nice person, however, there were several occasions where I would send an email asking a question and not get a reply for a week and I would then only get a reply when I would send another email. This also happened with my mom (the MOB) who was trying to set up brunch the day after the wedding and was also getting very delayed responses and we finally gave up trying to set up a brunch due to the difficulty of it. She is available by phone and luckily my now husband was able to call during the work day (I was not as I work at a hospital) and was able to reach her that way. I also didn't feel totally comfortable with the planning as I would ask a question, such as standard timelines or things like that, and get a vague answer, such as pictures usually start at this time and that everything would work out. While this is a fine answer for someone who has done this before, being that this was my first time, I was extremely nervous about "things just working" and needed more details than that. I know that Charlene is very busy, especially now with all the weddings going on, but I did not feel supported by her. I therefore hired a independent wedding planner, who did help a lot more with all the details. Overall, I think that GCGR is great and I would recommend it but I think if you are a little more type A like me that you should also hire a wedding planner to help with all the details.

is a beautiful mountain, desert location for hikers and sun seekers. Not to mention fantastic wedding photos ! Charlene, wedding coordinator, was fabulous from signing the contract to our 3 day wedding weekend. She put so much time into every detail that it made my job as MOB so easy. She is quick to answer emails and questions. She provides a day of timeline ( and we stuck to it ). I brought in many decorations and she made them look incredible for the reception. The staff was attentive, kind and willing to help with anything. Food was AMAZING ( at every meal ). Charlene was able to provide great vendor recommendations ( flowers, DJ, officiant, cake ). It is definitely wedding worthy. Please check it out !

end, not worry about transportation and everything went seamlessly. We had the rehearsal dinner/welcome event the evening before in their restaurant and the food was phenomenal. I had A LOT of questions throughout the process and Charlene was so patient with me leading up to the big day. I must have toured the venue with her 10+ times and she was so understanding and kind. I have been in a lot of weddings as bridesmaids before, and I have never experienced the kind of coordination or service that Charlene provided us day of. Golf carts were waiting to take us to hidden photo spots and family to and from where they needed to go. She had refreshments ready for all of us. I had my dog in the wedding and she treated her like her own pet when I wasn't able to be with her. We chose to have our reception outside on the lower town hall and it was truly breathtaking. The food was phenomenal, the service was great. I am still having guests comment on the food/backdrop/scenery. We also ended the night with an after party on the deck with fire pits and pizza, which was a great experience. I cannot say enough great things about our experience

She is a saint and guided us through this process seamlessly... everything was so easy on wedding day and we are very grateful. The venue is awesome - our guests LOVED the entire thing. EVERYONE complimented how beautiful the backdrop was, the atmosphere of the venue, the food, and how they liked that everything could be done in one spot. I'd highly recommend getting married at GCGR.

rs for the DJ (All Pro DJs), cake (Piece of Cake), and florist (Wild Iris Weddings), which made planning our wedding as easy as it could be through 2020 and we couldn’t be happier with each vendor, they were great to work with. Gold Canyon Golf Resort’s wedding packages eliminated the stress out of picking most of the vendors. The only vendors we had to decide on was our officiant (David Singer of Better Together Matrimonies) and photographer/videographer (Save This Memory) which were both amazing and we highly recommend them. All of our guests were from out of town and Gold Canyon offered the perfect setup, allowing for the ceremony, reception, and lodging to all be on the same property so our guests could enjoy the wedding without worrying about transportation. But, while the venue was everything we were looking for, our wedding day wouldn’t have come together as it did without Charlene. Charlene is the Catering Director for Gold Canyon Golf Resort and she also doubled as our day-of coordinator. Simply put, Charlene was amazing. She walked everyone through the rehearsal the day before, with our officiant and wedding party, so everyone was prepared for the day of the wedding. She was able to coordinate with our photographer/videographer on where the best places for photos were across the property, shuttled us in a golf cart to everywhere on the resort we needed to be the day of our wedding, which even included taking the bride back to the spa for a makeup touch-up prior to the ceremony because we ended up seeing a small amount of drizzle during our first look photos. Charlene even went as far as to put a shawl on the bride between first look photos so she wasn’t cold. Charlene made the whole wedding planning process and wedding day as stress free as possible and she was always there to help us when we needed her. While we recommend Gold Canyon Golf Resort to anyone looking for the perfect location to have a wedding, we want everyone to know that it is only perfect because of Charlene. The multiple ceremony sites are beautiful, the reception hall is gorgeous, the bridal suite is luxurious and the guest rooms made it convenient for guests to enjoy themselves while having a relaxing place on site to stay. . Professional and fun, communication was so easy with her. She is what made my day perfect. I did not have to worry about a single thing. The day was absolutely perfect. I may have had a couple moments where I became nervous and Charlenes calm demeanor helped me through the nerves. The venue makes it all too easy. They include the Dj, floral, cake, and food. And all of it was perfect! I loved the cake, the DJ was fantastic, my flowers were stunning and the food was delicious!! You will not regret having your wedding here!!

Our family and friends who stayed on site were very happy with the clean rooms. beautiful grounds, and friendly staff as well. Nicole also was extremely helpful when it came to our room block and making sure everything was ready to go for each staying guest. The resort staff were so helpful and friendly when it came to transporting our families and friends around the resort. Overall, great communication by all made the wedding weekend easy. We would choose GCGR again!

y recommend asking for them personally when and if you call to book your wedding here. My ONLY complaint was that some of my guests (including some of the wedding party) were never directed where to go for the ceremony upon arriving, nor did the front desk personnel even know there was a wedding going on. Therefore, a few of them missed the ceremony completely...And there was a cold front the day before so we had to move the reception indoors because they did not have heat lamps available. But overall, I loved my experience and would do it all over again!
