Amazing wedding band! They played at my wedding in June and were great. Shea is so nice and great to work with. The band went above and beyond, with everyone loving the music. Many guests came up to us after saying it was the best wedding band they've experienced. Highly recommend!!
Gold City Band was everything we wanted in a wedding band and so much more. Shea, the lead singer, was also the MC and had such a magnetic presence, making everything fun and special. The band learned our first dance song, as it is not in their set list, and absolutely crushed it. Our goal was to have a "concert that also happened to be a wedding" and we got that and more! Our guests were singing and dancing the whole night, which made our dreams come true considering that's all we wanted to do as the married couple! The band danced and laughed and celebrated right along with us. I cannot recommend Gold City enough.
Gold City was amazing. They were so professional, and were able to perform a couple songs that my wife special requested... even though they weren't on the original song list. Shea and her group kept everyone dancing all night. 10/10 would recommend!

Gold City 1000% made our wedding reception what it was! The dance floor was packed and people had the night of their lives. Each and every musician was incredible and impactful. There are a handful of large wedding band groups in the DC/MD area. However, you truly never really know who you'll get the day of, and they upcharge like crazy. They all just pull random musicians together that may or may not have played together before. Gold City is a band, that clearly works together on a regular basis, and cares about delivering the best performance possible. Our wedding reception just would not have been what it was without them. I would hands down hire them again and again.
GOLD CITY IS EPIC! My jaw dropped in amazement and absolute delight when they first started playing. This was the best wedding band I'd ever heard and multiple guests told me that as well. We could not have asked for a better experience overall; they were incredible people to work (kind, organized) with every step of the way! We booked the band with 7 pieces (4 piece rhythm section, 2 singers, and sax) and had just a 2 part jazz duo to start for the 'cocktail hour' portion. Each performer was individually talented and together they brought an amazing collective energy and style. Shea, one of the lead singers and band manager, MC'ed for introductions and transitions and made everything so FUN, while running smoothly. Hiring Gold City ended up feeling like the most valuable decision we made for our wedding reception. They were worth every cent!

Could not have been happier with Gold City! They had everyone dancing all night long - super talented, great energy, and very easy to work with. Awesome set list too. We had multiple people come up to us afterwards and say how great our band was. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a killer band. You will love them!

After waiting over a year for my son and daughter in law’s wedding last Saturday (10/9/21) it was imperative that the band was amazing. Matt and his Gold City 5 piece ensemble exceeded our expectations and absolutely blew us away. They were incredible. From the first note the reception hall emptied and the outdoor patio was jammed with dancers and revelers enjoying the music. The vocals were stellar, the musicianship was outstanding and the energy level was off the charts. Gold City did everything right, while knowing exactly when to rev up the crowd and when to give everyone a breath catching minute or two they were always right on cue. The group arrived exactly when they said they would, set up without fuss, played two fantastic sets and always made sure the wedding was center stage. Matt is a fantastic guitar player and vocalist and every musician and vocalist alongside him were equally exceptional. I have never attended a wedding where the band was as flawless as Gold City and I could not possibly recommend them with any more sincerity. 10 out of 10, could not be happier.

Gold City was by far the best wedding band I have ever heard!! Everyone at our wedding can’t stop talking about how amazing of a band they are. Gold city really brought the energy to the party and knew exactly how to keep the dancing going! Matthew and Shea were amazing to work with and made figuring out every detail very easy. If you are looking for an amazing high energy band then look no further, because gold city is everything you need and want in a wedding band!

It’s hard to describe how absolutely incredible Gold City was for our wedding, from start to finish. Matt and Shea were both incredibly professional and organized throughout the entire process and made it so fun for us. Onto the wedding, we knew Gold City was going to be great, but the shattered our highest expectations. We have literally been told nonstop how amazing our band was and EVERYONE kept asking, “where did you find this band?!” They are so amazingly talented and diverse in terms of what each member brings to the table. They learned multiple songs we requested and knocked them all out of the park. And their rendition of “Shout” was unreal. The party didn’t stop all night long. We can’t thank them enough for making our wedding the party that it was. Now we just hope some of our friends hire them for their wedding so we can hear them again.

GOLD CITY WAS AMAZING. I was super picky about the band because the music can really make or break a party, but Gold City absolutely killed it. Our guests can’t stop talking about how great the music and band was and even cheered for an encore after the final song. Gold City blew us away with their sound, talent, and presence at our wedding. The number one comment we had from guests was how amazing our band was. We weren’t able to see Gold City in person before we booked due to COVID, but I can truly say they lived up to their online videos and were even better live. Communication leading up to the day was sometimes slow, but it was all worth it in the end. They had all our details down, learned a few songs for us, and made sure our guests had the best possible time. I hope we get to attend an event where they are playing again!

The band was so good!! Very easy to work with and the music was amazing. Almost all of our requests were accommodated and they made the wedding so fun. Our guests still talk about what a great band we had and Gold City made it all possible. Their price was extremely reasonable, especially considering their sound and talent. They were also very responsive which is always helpful. I would recommend this band to anyone looking for any style of music.

Matt and Gold City were an absolute pleasure to work with throughout the entire process. We booked them way in advance after seeing them at a showcase and knew they were the perfect fit for our big day. Communication was transparent and smooth from start to finish and the band absolutely crushed their performance the night of the wedding. Gold City was amazing! They really made our day and can say we will remember them for the rest of our lives. They learned all the songs we requested and played them perfectly! Everyone in the band were super humble and very nice and all around great people. Would totally recommend!! And there set list is a wide variety of different genres, from Miles Davis to Justin Timberlake to Earth Wind and Fire, to The Grateful Dead. They nailed it and had everyone on the dance floor the entire time!

Our daughter was married on 6/1/19 at the Glen Foerd Mansion in Philadelphia. I can’t say enough about how great everyone in the band was! They were so easy to work with! They were on time and organized!! Most of all they made it a night to remember!! The music at the cocktail hour was lovely . They did a second line to lead everyone to the reception pavilion which everyone thought was really cool. The rest of the night was full of great music!!! The dance floor was always full!!!! No one wanted the music to end and requested several encores!!! Thank you Gold City for being so much fun!!!!! It was a night to remember!!!

My wife and I loved working with Matt and hiring his band to perform at our wedding. Our friends are still telling us how much fun the party was and how great the band sounded and it's months later at this point.
Our best friends that were at our wedding even hired them for their wedding too!
We also thoroughly enjoyed the ceremony music Matt provided for us. We gave him a list of songs we love and he made them feel classy and appropriate for the ceremony and made it very special for us.
Matt was great to work with throughout the whole process- he performed our ceremony music while the guests arrived and for the processional/recessional. Even though it was just him on guitar, it sounded like a full room, yet also set a very romantic tone for our evening ceremony. I love listening back to it in our wedding video! The full reception band was also incredible- we have so many great photos and video from the reception because everyone was dancing! We absolutely love Matt- he is professional and extremely talented. His band is tight, funky and fun. Don't think twice- definitely book Gold City!
We had the full 10-piece band at our wedding reception and they were worth every penny. We had no less than 3 professional musicians on our guest list and they commented on the quality of the musicianship, showmanship, how "tight" these guys are, and their high-energy performance. As for me, I could not stop dancing. So many of our guests commented on how great the band was and they really made the evening extra special and enjoyable.
The horn section was really tight and added a lot of power to the music. The singers harmonized with each and complimented each other very well, giving a very full high quality sound. The rhythm section was rock solid. The energy, drive, and groove kept me on my feet all night. I am so glad we had Gold City entertaining us and our guests!

Matthew at Gold City is an ideal POC. Receptive to the customer's ideas, willing to discuss details at any time, and the leader of an incredible group. Gold City was eager to perform at our wedding venue from the get go and visited the site before a contract was in place. Another vendor wanted to charge a consultation fee while Gold City made it feel like a courtesy. The band was phenomenal. My wife and I were showered with compliments regarding the entire evening and the band was up there in praise. Strongly recommend Gold City. They can take requests for unique songs and have a wide repertoire. Thanks Matthew and best of luck!

Gold City is seriously the greatest band we could have asked for at our wedding. When we contracted them, we told them we wanted a funky rager and they nailed it! They were so amazing to work with, helping to make sure that we would hear all the classics you want to hear at any wedding, and also helped to bust out some of the greatest hits from the decades we love! We have a lot of music fans in our circle of family and friends and everyone was talking about the band for weeks after the affair! Even our event coordinator said that she had never hosted a wedding that had so many people on the dance floor so long into the evening. These guys really did rock it ALL. NIGHT. LONG (they played that too!) Hire them!!!
