Gold City Band was everything we wanted in a wedding band and so much more. Shea, the lead singer, was also the MC and had such a magnetic presence, making everything fun and special. The band learned our first dance song, as it is not in their set list, and absolutely crushed it. Our goal was to have a "concert that also happened to be a wedding" and we got that and more! Our guests were singing and dancing the whole night, which made our dreams come true considering that's all we wanted to do as the married couple! The band danced and laughed and celebrated right along with us. I cannot recommend Gold City enough.

ere are a handful of large wedding band groups in the DC/MD area. However, you truly never really know who you'll get the day of, and they upcharge like crazy. They all just pull random musicians together that may or may not have played together before. Gold City is a band, that clearly works together on a regular basis, and cares about delivering the best performance possible. Our wedding reception just would not have been what it was without them. I would hands down hire them again and again.

as well. We could not have asked for a better experience overall; they were incredible people to work (kind, organized) with every step of the way! We booked the band with 7 pieces (4 piece rhythm section, 2 singers, and sax) and had just a 2 part jazz duo to start for the 'cocktail hour' portion. Each performer was individually talented and together they brought an amazing collective energy and style. Shea, one of the lead singers and band manager, MC'ed for introductions and transitions and made everything so FUN, while running smoothly. Hiring Gold City ended up feeling like the most valuable decision we made for our wedding reception. They were worth every cent!

eeded our expectations and absolutely blew us away. They were incredible. From the first note the reception hall emptied and the outdoor patio was jammed with dancers and revelers enjoying the music. The vocals were stellar, the musicianship was outstanding and the energy level was off the charts. Gold City did everything right, while knowing exactly when to rev up the crowd and when to give everyone a breath catching minute or two they were always right on cue. The group arrived exactly when they said they would, set up without fuss, played two fantastic sets and always made sure the wedding was center stage. Matt is a fantastic guitar player and vocalist and every musician and vocalist alongside him were equally exceptional. I have never attended a wedding where the band was as flawless as Gold City and I could not possibly recommend them with any more sincerity. 10 out of 10, could not be happier.

tire process and made it so fun for us. Onto the wedding, we knew Gold City was going to be great, but the shattered our highest expectations. We have literally been told nonstop how amazing our band was and EVERYONE kept asking, “where did you find this band?!” They are so amazingly talented and diverse in terms of what each member brings to the table. They learned multiple songs we requested and knocked them all out of the park. And their rendition of “Shout” was unreal. The party didn’t stop all night long. We can’t thank them enough for making our wedding the party that it was. Now we just hope some of our friends hire them for their wedding so we can hear them again.

ty in person before we booked due to COVID, but I can truly say they lived up to their online videos and were even better live. Communication leading up to the day was sometimes slow, but it was all worth it in the end. They had all our details down, learned a few songs for us, and made sure our guests had the best possible time. I hope we get to attend an event where they are playing again!

And there set list is a wide variety of different genres, from Miles Davis to Justin Timberlake to Earth Wind and Fire, to The Grateful Dead. on time and organized!! Most of all they made it a night to remember!! The music at the cocktail hour was lovely . They did a second line to lead everyone to the reception pavilion which everyone thought was really cool. The rest of the night was full of great music!!! The dance floor was always full!!!! it's months later at this point. Our best friends that were at our wedding even hired them for their wedding too! We also thoroughly enjoyed the ceremony music Matt provided for us. We gave him a list of songs we love and he made them feel classy and appropriate for the ceremony and made it very special for us.

ality of the musicianship, showmanship, how "tight" these guys are, and their high-energy performance. As for me, I could not stop dancing. So many of our guests commented on how great the band was and they really made the evening extra special and enjoyable. The horn section was really tight and added a lot of power to the music. The singers harmonized with each and complimented each other very well, giving a very full high quality sound. The rhythm section was rock solid. The energy, drive, and groove kept me on my feet all night. I am so glad we had Gold City entertaining us and our guests!

rm at our wedding venue from the get go and visited the site before a contract was in place. Another vendor wanted to charge a consultation fee while Gold City made it feel like a courtesy. The band was phenomenal. My wife and I were showered with compliments regarding the entire evening and the band was up there in praise. Strongly recommend Gold City. azing to work with, helping to make sure that we would hear all the classics you want to hear at any wedding, and also helped to bust out some of the greatest hits from the decades we love! We have a lot of music fans in our circle of family and friends and everyone was talking about the band for weeks after the affair! Even our event coordinator said that she had never hosted a wedding that had so many people on the dance floor so long into the evening. These guys really did rock it ALL. NIGHT. LONG (they played that too!) Hire them!!!
