Picking the right venue is one of the most important decisions that you will make when it comes to your wedding being perfect. My wife Danielle and I discovered this little gem of ...
a place a few years back during the street vibrations motorcycle rally in Virginia City Nevada. An annual motorcycle event that we have been attending for quite some time. Motorcycle riding is a passion of ours so it just made sense that we did a motorcycle themed wedding. Tony and Jill, the owners of the Gold Hill Hotel, were more than accommodating on any request that we had. The wedding was spectacular and everything went off without a hitch. People kept coming up to us afterwards and telling us that it was the best wedding that they have ever attended. In fact they still talk about it. The venue had a lot to do with that. We had a party of about 50. Close friends and family and space was not an issue. Our guests rented rooms in the hotel, and some stayed in the surrounding cabins that the Gold Hill offers. In the morning some of our guests woke up to wild horses that frequent the area and I could see one of them feeding them apples. Keep in mind that they are wild horses so approach with caution. The bride and groom, of course took one of the cabins across the street also rented out by the Gold Hill hotel, and that was our honeymoon sweet. It was perfect! In fact I think it was bigger than my first house! Plenty of room for the entire wedding party at the Gold Hill and everyone was in close proximity. If you run out of room, there are other local motels nearby to accommodate all of your guests. Our wedding was held in the courtyard. Plenty of chairs were provided by the Gold Hill and the gazebo was center stage and elevated above the crowd so everyone had a clear view of the bride and groom. I could not have asked for a more beautiful place to tie the knot with my beautiful bride. The gazebo also made for some stunning pictures after the ceremony was over. After that, it was a motorcycle precession into town and back to the Gold Hill where we had our reception in the banquet room and the restaurant. The food was amazing and the service was prompt. The Gold Hill went so above and beyond to make our special day, even that much more special. After all of the ceremonial stuff was done the real party started. The Gold Hill has a full bar and even with a party of that size, I didn’t see anyone standing around with an empty hand. No long lines at the bar waiting to get a drink. It could not have gone any better than it did. Our wedding was such a success that we have continued staying at the Gold Hill hotel every year that we go back for the annual motorcycle rally which is also our wedding anniversary now. We now spend it every year with the owners of the Gold Hill, Tony and Jill and a small group of friends who have also fallen in love with the Gold Hill Hotel. Amazing place and amazing people. Some day we may even renew our vows there. Could not imagine doing it anywhere else. I hope this review helps you with your venue decision. Cheers! The Hudson’s

ually beautiful bar and restaurant, complete with a wood-burning stove, offered a unique experience unlike anywhere else. We could host both the ceremony and reception at the same location, and our guests all stayed in Gold Hill Hotel rooms to avoid having to drive anywhere. They also had golf-cart and shuttle recommendations to transport us to and from downtown Virginia City (about a mile away). Jett, the event manager, was very helpful, drawing on her years of experience, and gave wonderful recommendations. The friendly servers and bartenders took excellent care of our wedding party with Virginia City hospitality. Even the sweet owner came over to wish my husband and me well. The rooms, each one furnished with different antique furniture, ensured a one-of-a-kind stay. Everyone enjoyed chatting on the balconies while soaking in the breathtaking views. I highly recommend grabbing a coffee or drink from their restaurant and enjoying it on their wrap-around porch, complete with barrel tables. I love that it is far enough from downtown Virginia City to see the stars and enjoy Nevada’s quiet beauty, yet only about a mile by car to the boardwalk and festivities. If given the chance, I would choose the Gold Hill Hotel for my wedding day all over again. My friends and family talked about the experience for months after.

m hospitality and a charming atmosphere that immediately set the tone for a remarkable stay.
One of the highlights of this hotel is undoubtedly the breathtaking Mountain View. As we stepped onto the balcony of our room, we were treated to a picturesque panorama of the surrounding mountains and the history of the mining that took place in 1859. The sight was awe-inspiring, instantly instilling a sense of tranquility and peace. Waking up to such natural beauty was a true gift I will cherish forever.
The hotel itself is steeped in history, and every corner exudes a sense of nostalgia. The interior design perfectly balances the preservation of its heritage with modern comforts. Our room was cozy, well-appointed, and immaculately clean. The staff takes great pride in maintaining the hotel's rich legacy.
During our stay, my boyfriend decided to make this trip even more special by giving me a surprise proposal. The staff at Gold Hill Hotel went above and beyond to help him plan. We cannot thank them enough for their assistance and genuine enthusiasm in making our engagement unforgettable.
The hotel's restaurant deserves special mention as well. The food was delectable, offering a variety of mouthwatering dishes that catered to every palate. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who went out of their way to ensure we had a memorable dining experience.
In addition to the stunning views, the historic charm, and the exceptional service, Gold Hill Hotel is situated in a fantastic location. The surrounding area offers plenty of outdoor activities, such as hiking and exploring nearby Virginia City. It's the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and immerse yourself in nature's beauty.
Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend Gold Hill Hotel for anyone seeking a memorable and romantic getaway. We enjoyed the serenity of the mountains, and this historic gem will not disappoint. Combining breathtaking views, warm hospitality, and a touch of nostalgia creates a truly unforgettable experience. I can't wait to return to this charming hotel and create more cherished memories in the future.
