We hired Goldenwood Ensembles for our ceremony and cocktail hour, with Christina on cello and Mesa on keys, and it was money extremely well spent. They elevated our wedding and added a real level of class that enhanced the entire day.
One special request we had was for them to learn a few Ludovico Einaudi pieces for our processional, music they hadn't performed before. They took it on and executed it flawlessly, and it ended up being one of the most memorable moments of the ceremony.
Beyond their talent, Christina and Mesa were also a genuine pleasure to work with throughout the whole process. They shared their song selections with us well in advance of the wedding, so we knew exactly what to expect on the big day, which gave us a lot of confidence heading in. We couldn't be happier that we chose Goldenwood Ensembles and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for live music for their wedding.

I would definitely recommend. The day of the musicians arrived punctually and got set up with ease. They executed everything seamlessly and professionally. All around a great experience.
I also thought the pricing was very reasonable. A lot of vendors take advantage of the “wedding” label and you feel like you are being ripped off, but the prices felt very fair to me, which I really appreciated and stood out in the industry.

For context: We had an intimate City Hall ceremony. Goldenwood Ensembles played ceremony and cocktail hour music. They also accommodated learning our first dance song (and performed it perfectly!). They were accommodating of a short scheduling timeline and incredibly easy to work with. They arrived on time and needed no assistance navigating and setting up. They were incredibly professional, kind, and easy to work with leading up to the wedding and day-of; administrative details like the contract, discussion of logistical needs, and payment were crystal clear (not something I can say for other groups I reached out to). Every communication with them inspired confidence that they had their role covered, which was huge for my wife and I as we were planning the whole event ourselves.
I have a background in music composition and performance, and can say with certainty that the quality of their musicianship is absolutely excellent. Their performances during our ceremony (3 songs: wedding party processional, bride processional, and recessional) remain a beautiful core memory of the day for us and our guests. We ended up having a trio of flute, violin, and cello, which was perfect for our space, sound, and budget, though you can feel confident that whatever combination of instruments/musicians fits your needs will be masterfully brought to life by this group. Cannot recommend them enough!

d for my outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour. I had a flute and guitar and they were worth every penny. The prices seemed very reasonable also. I’m not a big fan of paying via check and snail mail, but it wasn’t a problem after all. I would not hesitate hiring them again for any event I was hosting!!

Additionally, we had requested a cello solo of "stand by me" that they ended up learning and executing beautifully; however, at the last minute the priest declined the piece to be played during mass (even though the parish had previously approved it). Krysia and her team did not miss a beat and switched songs minutes before the start of the ceremony- kudos that they handled this issue with such professionalism and flexibility!

trust in vendors that you haven’t worked with before, but I can’t recommend Goldenwood enough. The music was everything I had dreamed it would be, and they were so flexible and accommodating of all our requests. They made us feel so comfortable in the process along the way, and now it’s easy to see why - they know what they’re doing, and they’re fantastic at it!

For a relatively small additional fee, they even composed a cover of one of our favorite songs by John Mayer for my processional, and it was such a magical experience to hear it as I walked down the aisle. Krysia is a pleasure to work with, she is so responsive and on top of everything. I would definitely recommend them to anyone getting married in Maine - they made our day feel so special!
