own appraisal that was in alignment with the price tag. In 2023, a GIA Trained Gemologist was looking at my ring with an eye loop and noticed it was inscribed with a GIA certificate number. We were in shock! The GIA report for this ring showed the color was 1.5 grades lower, the clarity was 1 grade lower and the size was slightly smaller than what Goldie’s represented in their own, Goldie’s Jewelry appraisal report. Long story short, we over paid, A LOT due to not having full transparency of the stone’s GIA grading and inferior specifications at time of sale. We are left wondering why the GIA grading report was not presented to us at he time of purchase. We contacted the owners and after some back and forth, they promised to refund us in full, $42,000 (this is in writing). After they received the ring back they did not refund us, missing multiple payment deadlines they personally set. After two weeks, they called us and said they were no longer interested in giving us a full refund on $42,000. Instead they could give us a $20k refund, they would keep the ring and maybe someday they could get us more money if they could find a buyer for the ring. We declined. We were loyal, frequent customers of this store for over 10 years. This experience has been devastating for me and my family.
