And in many cases, they can complete both hair and makeup at the same time. They finished everyone’s hair and makeup (bridal makeup, 6 additional makeups, and 5 hair styles) within just a couple of hours. The space is cute, and we had plenty of room to set up food and drinks as well. And during the entire process, Mal and Coco were very accommodating and responsive to my questions. The only snafu we had was with my hair. I was originally scheduled to have both my hair and makeup done at Goldplaited as well. However, my first hair trial did not go very well. It didn’t look like my inspiration look in shape or in style. The curls also fell out during the day, which is very unusual for my hair. Part of the problem was that I didn’t see my hair along the way, as they were applying my makeup at the same time, and I was never asked about it until it was basically complete. I wrote to Mal and Coco about the experience, and they were very kind and offered me a second complimentary hair trial. However, I had already booked my regular stylist. (I am very picky about my hair, and I was a little freaked out by the experience.) I told them this, but they insisted that I come in for the second trial. The second trial went so much better! This stylist, Mari, seemed much more experienced and skilled. Had I been scheduled with Mari initially, I would have had my hair styled at Goldplaited.

Mal was incredibly responsive to all of my questions, and she understood that we'd be under a time crunch on the day (my wedding was at 1 p.m., and all the ladies had to be ready by 10:30 for pictures). She sent four stylists to our hotel, and they arrived right on time - very early in the morning, too! I absolutely loved the way my hair and makeup turned out. Natalia and Mari did a fantastic job. And all of my bridesmaids and my mom loved their looks, as well. I'm so, so glad that we had Goldplaited with us on the day!

I highly, HIGHLY recommend Andrea and Mari for makeup and up-dos, respectively. I couldn't offer Andrea much direction as I don't wear very much makeup and wanted to look as much like myself as possible, and she absolutely nailed the clean, natural look. I had a few pictures of up-dos to share with Mari, and she did a fantastic job blending the textured, braided, soft look I was going for. Even my mother, who is exceptionally difficult to please, was speechless when she saw my finished look. braids, half ups, updos, and blowouts, everyone came out with a hair style they felt great in. I also really appreciate how much they listened to each woman when it came to their make-up. Many were skeptical at first about having their make-up done, but everyone left feeling confident and beautiful. I adored the look they gave me as the bride, and it held up throughout the entire day. Not to mention, the time we spent getting ready in the salon was a blast! Great value for the cost. I'd go back anytime to have my hair and make-up done for another occasion.

imes. They were extremely flexible with Chicago traffic and getting us in a little early the day of the wedding so we could arrive in time to take pictures with my husband. Mal was amazing and truly professional! If I'm in Chicago and needing services done, no doubt I'm going to Goldplaited again!

and the music made the atmosphere even more fun. The team worked wonders with our hair and makeup (especially considering that several of us rarely do much beyond lipgloss and a ponytail). We looked and felt like a million dollars. A bonus is the really friendly and genuine staff. Truly marvelous experience!
