I first experienced the party and excitement of Goody Blue Shoes at a local restaurant in 2014, from that moment I wanted them to preform at my wedding. Fast forward 9 years, my then boyfriend, Daniel and I got engaged and knew exactly who we wanted to call. As we reminisce on our wedding day, Daniel and I cannot express how blessed and grateful we were to have the opportunity to work with John. We had the most incredible experience with GBS for our MDW weekend wedding! John took multiple evenings to plan with us and make sure we had the PERFECT reception, down to each set list, songs included, energy levels, name pronunciations, etc. We had the option to upgrade our ceremony by adding a violinist who added such an elegant touch. If you are looking for an amazing wedding band that guests will not stop talking about The Goody Blue Shoes are that band! We got married in Cape May 5 hours from where we live. An amazing live band was the most important thing we wanted at our wedding. We are fortunate to live in an area that in the summer has endless bars with live music. It is our favorite thing to do but we are also very picky. We had full intentions of hiring one of the local bands we love and having them make the trip. After one meeting with John of The Goody Blue Shoes that all changed. His energy, expertise, and good vibes are infectious. You can tell that this is more than just a job to him and he goes above and beyond to build a relationship with his clients. Even though he had other events going on we always felt like we were his only couple and he always made time for us. John goes over every detail and was almost like having a second wedding planner. His main goal is to make your wedding day perfect in any way that he can. No is not in John's vocabulary if you want something he will make it happen. We could not have been happier with the whole planning process and John made it as stress-free as possible. The band is incredible, our guests cannot stop talking about the band and how amazing they sounded. We had one guest tell us they wished they had heard them before booking their band. They said they are 300 times better than the band they hired and would have flown The Goody Blue Shoes to Maryland! Another guest told us it took him a minute to realize that it was the female vocalist who was singing during our ceremony not a recording. We had a 10-piece band at an extremely affordable price compared to their competitors. John is so attentive and thoughtful. We had dinner with him for our first meeting and had multiple calls and zoom meetings to follow - nailing down timelines, music and special requests. John arranged for a flautist and pianist to play our custom music for the ceremony, had an amazing jazz trio for our cocktail hour, and the full 10-piece band for our reception. They learned multiple songs for us to make our wedding feel personalized and custom and even let my dad who is a musician play with them on some sets. Not to mention- every member of the band is extremely talented. We highly recommend GBS Party Band!

I don't know where to begin telling you about the PERFECT wedding day we had thanks to Goody Blue Shoes! First, John was so kind and responsive to every question that we had. We met with him 3 times prior to the wedding to go over every single detail. He listened to every idea and helped us craft the perfect day. Their pianist is excellent! He accompanied every part of our ceremony and cocktail hour gorgeously. At the end of our ceremony, a few of the horns from the group popped in the back and played us out to "This Will Be", which was just over the top perfection! Everyone was surprised! My favorite part was that my husband and his mother wanted to make a drink together instead of do a first dance. But, they chose "Step In Time" from Mary Poppins (it has a lot of significance for them), and John and the team embraced the idea wholeheartedly and created a beautiful and fun rendition of the song! We are still getting compliments months later from our guests. We all had a fantastic time, and I cannot recommend the Goody Blue Shoes team enough!

Goody Blue Shoes was a HUGE part of making the our wedding day the amazing day it was. John and his team worked so hard to execute our perfect day from the initial call set up to the planning meetings up until our wedding. They made sure every detail and aspect was planned for. When planning your wedding, the reception is a HUGE portion of the day--- having the right band/music sets the ENTIRE reception. I learned through our meetings that John was going to make sure the reception went EXACTLY as we had hoped for. To show the level of detail he goes to - he even talked with the event caterer to know when food would approximately come out to know how many songs we could and in what order the events (such as the cake cutting, first dance, father dance, etc) went! We were so thrilled with how our entire night went and John and his team made sure everything we wanted to happen happened. You will have meetings (more than 1!) that go above and beyond to nail down every detail that is important to you. Another example - he thoroughly goes over pronunciations of each member of the bridal party so every person is announced correctly. Him and his team are so personable. On top of this they are BEYOND talented!!!! Having a band was so important to us to set the tone for an amazing event. If having a band is top of your list (and you want your wedding/event to be unique and top class) then going with GOODY BLUE SHOES is the way to go!!!! Although weddings costs A LOT and bands are more than DJS - having them as a BAND was worth every $ we spent! GBS was one of the BEST decisions we made for our wedding. We booked them without hearing them live since COVID had limited live performances at the time. John was so helpful in connecting me with past couples they've worked with and sending me videos and making sure I was comfortable with booking them. Once we heard them live we were beyond happy we had booked our date with them so far in advance! John made the planning process so easy and met with us multiple times to make sure our day matched our vision. We really felt like he cared about us as people and took the time to understand what we wanted and was instrumental in making that come to life. He acted as a coordinator for us and insured that the ceremony and reception went smoothly. He even led the toast for us when my husband and I forgot to (since we didn't have speeches at our wedding)! Not only was the planning and logistics made so easy by John, the actual performance of the band was incredible. Everyone at the wedding kept coming up to us and telling us how much they loved the band. They really got everyone out on the dance floor and made the night a blast! My uncle loved the band so much he kept coming up to sing with them, which they handled gracefully. GBS also learned a few songs that we requested and they absolutely knocked it out of the park. So many of our friends have expressed interest in booking GBS for their own weddings! Overall, I highly HIGHLY recommend GBS, they were wonderful!!

GBS blew away all expectations for our wedding day! John and the team could not have been more prepared for our big night. John was thorough and met with us multiple times to make sure our day was perfect. Whether it was getting the ceremony audio set up, cocktail hour or the reception itself, GBS had us covered. My husband and I just celebrated our second wedding anniversary and when we think back to how fun our wedding was, we give full credit to the Goody Blue Shoes Band. The dance floor was full all night long and when we see guests from our wedding, they STILL comment on how amazing our wedding band was. Their versatility, stellar vocals, and energy were all out of this world. John was an amazing MC and kept the events of the night moving swimmingly, working closely with the venue coordinator not only the night of but also making several phone calls leading up to the wedding to coordinate things so I didn’t have to worry about it. John made us feel like his only clients throughout the entire process and was super accommodating and flexible when we inevitably needed to a reschedule our wedding due to COVID restrictions. We truly received white glove service from the time we started communicating all the way through to our wedding day. We are so glad we went with the the Goody Blue Shoes Band and wouldn’t have changed a thing!

Stong vocals, a horn section, and good crowd engagement was a must when finding a wedding band. I stumbled upon Goody Blue Shoes Party Band on a wedding venue referral page out of pure fate. We went to a GBS gig and instantly knew they were the right wedding entertainment for our live band loving family. Immediately after inquiring the band owner, John, was nothing more than expressively compassionate about what he does and made us feel like family instantly. The professionalism and organization of John is unmatched. GBS provided both our ceremony music and reception music which was very convenient. I last minute added in a Violinist for the ceremony and of course John knew a guy and made it happen. We had a family friend play a guitar and sing during our cocktail hour and John was so kind to provide him an acoustic guitar with a hook up into the GBS set up with zero push back when we asked if that was ok. They also allowed for my father in law (ex musician) to play the drums during one of their sets! GBS is by far the best wedding band in the area. Aside from John kindly taking us to dinner a month out from our wedding day to talk final details, we also had numerous FaceTime calls even up to the day before our wedding about ideas and suggestions John had for us in order to create the best party ever! The first thing our guests say when talking about our wedding was how amazing the band was. In our search for a wedding band, we quickly realized there are Wedding Bands that function like a business, and those that are more "mom and pop" style - and this band is the "mom and pop style." They are warm, advocate for their couples, love what they do, and aim to give you the best experience possible (without nickle and diming you). John, the sax player, is the band leader, served as our MC, and made our wedding day run flawlessly despite the weather totally interrupting all of our plans! We didn't have a wedding planner and felt we didn't need one as we were in good hands with John. He helped us design our reception timeline, worked behind the scenes with our venue to make sure food serving times aligned with their sets, and effortlessly incorporated all of our music requests. Us and our guests had an absolute blast, many guests telling us it was the most fun wedding they had ever been to. The dance floor was packed literally the entire night. The band uses medleys of similar genres/songs, so that they are not stuck on one song for too long and the music seems cohesive rather than jumping all over the place. From beginning to end, we had our friends on the dance floor as well as the older guests. Our first dance was At Last, which Marissa sang beautifully, making the moment all the more special. I cannot recommend Goody Blue Shoes enough - they know how to help you throw a party !

We knew hiring a band would be our splurge wedding item, and cut back on florals / decor to find the band of our dreams. Having a packed dance floor and the party of a lifetime was our goal, and GBS exceeded all expectations. From the moment we spoke with John, we were sold by his charisma and positive demeanor. We were a bit nervous as we didn't have the chance to see GBS in person prior to booking, but we loved their videos so much we knew that they would be great. Well... 1 year later and great doesn't cover it. The goody blue shoes were the absolute highlight of our wedding and kept the party going all night long. They were able to learn all the songs we wanted for those special moments, and curated a set list that matched the exact vibe we were going for. They were even able to keep my 90 year old nana dancing all night which is a feat in itself. Our wedding reception would not have been the same without GBS - from our grand entrance, to our first dance (slow version of brown eyed girl that they learned for us and absolutely crushed), and the hora, they truly went above and beyond. Our guests cannot stop raving about GBS and said it was the best wedding band they had ever heard. To top everything off, GBS surprised us with a last song... "Dancing on My Own" knowing that we were huge Phillies fans and the Phil's won their playoff game during our wedding. GBS also wasn't just spectacular the night of, they were incredible throughout the entire planning process. We met with John multiple times to make sure he had everything covered to create our perfect day. I've already recommended GBS to all of my friends who are planning weddings, and can't wait to see them perform again. They are the best of the best!

Words cannot describe just how talented the Goody Blue Shoes Party Band is. Months after our wedding, our guests are still raving about how phenomenal the music (and performance!) was at our wedding. Goody Blue Shoes made our wedding reception the most fun that we have ever had, and we are beyond grateful to have worked with them. From a planning perspective, Goody Blue Shoes was possibly the most detail-oriented and buttoned up vendor that we worked with. We had already hired (and paid for) a DJ, and then we saw a band at a wedding and realized...we needed a band. But not any band. We were extremely picky. We wanted strong vocals, a horn section, and lots of versatility. You. will. not. find. better. than. Goody. Blue. Shoes. I guarantee it. They were THE reason our wedding was awesome. The professionalism from the moment we hired them to the talent the day of, there are truly not enough words. From the pie in the sky wedding processional idea, I had to welcoming my father-in-law, a musician, to sing with them for our first dance. Truly incredible.

HIRE THIS BAND! GBS was one of the first vendors we nailed down when planning our big day. We struck out with the big management folks (1/2 of them flaked), but TEAM GBS was excellent from the first call to the last note. The whole process was fun, and we felt like they really got to know us. The final picture from our wedding was taken from the stage, and the dance floor was completely packed. If I could give this band a 100000/10, I would. There is literally no match to the GBS Band. John is the absolute best. He is an amazing guy and genuinely enjoys getting to know new couple that become new friends. When we first met with John, we spent a little over 3 hours talking about life, marriage and what our wedding means to us. When we pictured our ideal wedding, it included minimal sitting and small talk, and the GBS band delivered just that!!! Our guests were RAVING (and still are!) about the GBS Band. They play an amazing wide range of music that keeps every guest of every age up on the dance floor. We actually had a guest tell us that they felt like the dance floor was too small because it was so crowded all night long. Jared and Marissa are flawless on vocals and the whole band is there to support them. My husband and I are thinking of events we can host so that we can hire the GBS band again. We will definitely be looking into their events at locals bars just so we can see them again. GBS Band made our wedding the most fun night of our lives and we owe it all to them!!! <3

I cannot even put into words how amazing Goody Blue Shoes is!!!! I wish there were more than five stars to review!!! "That band was unreal!!" is all we heard the week after our wedding. They made our entire wedding night and had our guests dancing from beginning to end. Even the guests who do not usually dance were dancing! John was in contact with us leading up to the wedding and was so supportive of our ideas. He got us so hype about our wedding day!!! They truly care about you and want to make sure you have the best wedding. John did a great job of making sure the wedding flowed and that we did not miss a chance to dance! There aren't enough words to express how absolutely outstanding this band is. While planning for our wedding, our one non-negotiable was to have GBS and it was so worth it. Our day was perfect from start to finish. Chris, the piano player, played the most beautiful versions of our favorite songs to help make our ceremony so special. As guests moved into the reception space, the band invited them in with feel-good tunes. When the party got started, everyone was dancing- even Mom-mom! John helped up with every step in planning for a wonderful night and it was executed perfectly. GBS feels like family and we are so grateful for them!

GBS is a once in a lifetime wedding band. It is not possible to accurately describe how this band MADE our wedding... You will really just have to trust and see for yourself when you book them. When searching for a band, I had listened to countless hours and watched an insane amount of footage. Within the first 10 seconds of hearing GBS, I knew we needed to lock this in. Little did I know that this was the best decision and only the beginning. From John's initial contact with us, I knew we were in good hands. He made everything so PERSONAL and genuinely put our minds at ease because this guy has seen it all. He is a true master of not only his craft, but really supporting and planning the flow of day in relation to the music. To my husband and I, the band was the second (aside from the actual marriage) most IMPORTANT part of our day. We knew that if all went wrong and we had no venue, we wanted a band, and we wanted this to feel like a concert. GBS EXCEEDED all expectations of what that meant for us. We had a room full of musicians in attendance, and from the very first set- our guests came up to us saying the same thing: "how the HECK did you find this band". We truly feel so lucky. John has become more of a friend to us throughout the planning process... He offered guidance when asked, and left the personal touches to us, while somehow bringing everything together in the best way possible. Our friends and family have not stopped talking about this band. My husband and I wanted to really be surprised by what the contents of each set would contain, while communicating with John different genres and songs that we do and do not like. By those conversations alone, GBS cultivated a setlist that hit every guests wishlist that they didn't even KNOW they had. They started the night with the music my husband and our families love and resonate with, and transitioned all the way to a 90's throwback absolute RAGER to finish the night having our highschool and college friends losing their minds. Since we will not be getting married again, we will have to just recommend GBS to every single couple we come across. GBS made our entire wedding what it was. Our wedding must-haves were good food and good music - GBS exceeded every sing expectation we have and were so easy to work with. I did SO much research on wedding bands and I would say the one big thing that stood out to me were the break times. So many other bands I spoke to were going to take two 40-minute breaks..not GBS. Their breaks were minimal and even when they did break they made sure the party never stopped. We met with John over zoom a few times prior to the wedding and he really got to know us as a couple and how we imagined our day. The execution was unreal. The group also learned so many of our favorite songs. I had so many guests come up to me the night of the wedding and even after saying the band was the best they had ever seen. No one will remember your flowers, centerpieces, signage, etc - put your money towards the two things that can make or break a wedding - music and food. If I could hire one vendor again - it would hands down be GBS. Thank you, GBS for making our wedding the best.

If I could only recommend one vendor from my entire wedding.....GBS would be it. There aren't enough words to describe how great they were. I originally reached out to them based on a recommendation from a friend and the minute I got on the phone with John, I knew I wanted them at my wedding. John's pre wedding process is absolutely unmatched. You can tell he truly cares about his couples and wants to get to know them so he can really customize their sets. We had multiple zoom calls and even went out for dinner and drinks a month before the wedding to nail down every detail. The day of the wedding you would have thought John was a part time wedding coordinator. Our timeline ran exactly how it was supposed to (or if it didn't, nobody knew) because of John. The band sounded AMAZING and had people on the dance floor all night. My dad chose a very unique father daughter song (Thank You by Led Zeppelin) that I was nervous about trying to replicate. GBS took it and created the most beautiful version of it that I could have imagined. Whenever anyone talks about our wedding the first thing they mention is how incredible GBS was. I couldn't imagine my day without them. Book them ASAP. I can't wait to go party with them the next time they do a local gig!!

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? We cannot thank John and Goody Blue Shoes enough for what an amazing job they did on our big day! All through the pandemic John worked with us to make sure our wedding day was every bit as special as we wanted it to be. We had to postpone in addition to switching venues, and John was just a short text or phone call away to make sure the rescheduling worked for GBS. As for the wedding itself, unbelievable! High energy from the start and it never trailed off! Had people up and dancing the whole night, my husband and I never left the dance floor once! Goody Blue Shoes is absolutely top notch, the reviews don't lie! John is the nicest, most fun, and most valuable vendor we worked with during our entire wedding. Every time we spoke, we came away excited and with a sense of confidence that everything would go as planned and we would have a great time. What I didn't realize beforehand, is that the band is the glue that makes the entire reception happen (what happens, when things happen, working closely with the photographer and venue). And all of that just speaks to how great it was to work with GBS, now let me get to the music! We are bias, but GBS made our wedding incredible. From literally the first song of the first set, all of our guests were on the dance floor, and everyone continued to dance for hours and hours. The next morning, all anyone could say was 'who was your band', 'how did you find them', 'that was the best band we've ever seen at a wedding'... I felt bad taking any credit for finding them, but GBS absolutely made our wedding a day to never forget (of course for us, but also for all of our guests). INCREDIBLE!

STOP SEARCHING AND HIRE GOODY BLUE SHOES!! JOHN SAVED OUR WEDDING AND WE LEGITIMATELY WOULD NOT BE MARRIED WITHOUT HIM. My fiancé and I knew we wanted to hire a band for our wedding so we started looking right away. After doing our fair share of online research, we checked out about 5 bands in person. Many have showcases where you sit and they play a couple of songs, but John invited us to see them at a local venue. We instantly fell in love with how GBS so effortlessly got everyone dancing and having a great time. What makes John so great is how much he truly cares about what he does, and cares about YOU. He took time to ask questions and get to know us as a couple, beyond the usual small talk when you meet a vendor. Our original wedding date was May 23, 2020, so COVID threw a wrench in our plans. We had 2 other wedding dates before our final date of September 6, 2021, and John was able to work with us to QUICKLY let us know the band’s availability and rebook with ease. During the planning session of our big day, he could sense we were stressed and burnt out due to the impacts of COVID-19. He actually took the time to talk to us, ask us how we were doing, and GET US PUMPED about our own wedding. I will never forget that evening. We met to go over wedding plans but it felt more like hanging out with a friend. John will work directly with your venue to take off some of the burden. This is a huge relief, but even more appreciated when our friend who was to officiate tested positive for COVID-19 five days before our wedding. We found another officiant, but then the next day his apartment flooded and his car totaled when Hurricane Ida showed up. TWO DAYS before our wedding we had no one to marry us. I vaguely remembered John saying he had married a couple before, so I frantically asked if he could marry us and HE SAVED THE DAY. He was able to work directly with our friend who had already come up with the ceremony and knocked it out of the park as our wedding officiant. John also worked directly with a string quartet he recommended (Cherrywood String Ensembles – so great), to arrange for ceremony music. After MARRYING US, John led the band during our cocktail hour (so recommend you use them for this), and then rocked it all night for our reception. EVERYONE came up to us and said how great the band was. They played a bit of everything and made sure everyone was having a great time. They are fantastic musicians and great hosts. They really are worth 5x what they charged and we would hire them again in an instant. John was also really great at letting us break up the final cost into multiple payments and the deposit to book is very cheap compared to other bands. PLEASE do yourself a favor and HIRE THEM. We can honestly say that we have gained a true friend with John and we are GBS groupies for life. THANK YOU GBS!

One of the best bands I've ever seen at a wedding. My daughter and son-in-law picked different genres they wanted to hear and Goody Blue Shoes did them all very, very well - Beatles, Pitbull, Beach Boys, The Killer and more. Hi John and the Goody Blue Shoes gang! We wanted to send you all a belated THANK YOU for being such a critical part of our New Year's Eve wedding. We have been mulling over how we can possibly express in words our gratitude for your band's unbelievable performance and support during and leading up to our wedding day. As you know, we were unlucky with the timing of our wedding -- Omicron was at its peak during the holidays, and so many of our guests had been exposed to the variant leading up to the wedding. As if planning a wedding in the ordinary course isn't stressful enough, in just the few days leading up to the wedding, we had a nearly 30% cancellation from our guests. We were gutted, anxious and super disappointed with the circumstances. During the 48 hours prior to our wedding, John continued to reassure a very distressed bride that the band is "going to make sure everyone has a good time." And Goody Blue Shoes certainly delivered. We had the most incredible night of fun and dance with an intimate group of friends and family -- you helped pull off nothing short of a miracle wedding that we will cherish and remember for the rest of our lives. There was so much energy from the band that kept our guests on the dance floor all night long. The songs were right on point with our specific and general requests. The groom would especially like to express gratitude for playing Man in the Mirror, which got the attention of his friends who couldn't resist getting on the floor during dinner to air guitar and dance to the song. We had so much fun that evening, and the band got us dancing so hard that the groom ripped his pants! :) No one wanted the night to end, even though you performed well past midnight, at which point everyone was asking for ONE MORE SONG! John, you have been a coach/therapist/friend throughout the whole process. From our first consultation to the big day (and all the lengthy conversations in between), you have been an ear and guide to pulling off a wedding that was unique and special to us. We benefited from your extensive knowledge and experience with wedding planning and vendor coordination. You shared so many important suggestions, such as having all the New Year's Eve accessories at the front of the stage so the guests would not have to leave the dance floor during the countdown. You listened to our vision and executed beyond our expectations not just the music, but the ambience for the evening -- a sweet and emotional ceremony to a hyper energetic reception. Where do we even begin? This is the best wedding band you can possibly book so if you're reading this now- look no further!! John answered our inquiry ASAP and helped us make our COVID wedding the most fun wedding we could possibly imagine. ALL of our guests have told us that our band was incredible (because they were). We knew the Goody Blue Shoes band was good but we didn’t know they would be THAT good. Their website says they will deliver the “Best.Party.Ever” and they ain’t lying! From helping us find a string quartet and providing perfect sound for our outdoor reception (on a particularly windy October day!) to emceeing the reception and delivering amazing music that all ages could enjoy, John and the band absolutely blew our expectations out of the water. We really wanted to ensure that our guests would be up and dancing for most of the reception and John guided us with impeccable advice on ways to maximize dance time while still having time for the evening’s important speeches and traditional family dances. We had an in-person meeting and several video calls with John in the weeks leading up to the wedding and they did not disappoint! The band even helped us carry out a Polish tradition called the “Dollar Dance” for which Marissa took the time to learn the song and sing it in the traditional Polish language, which we were not expecting and she sounded amazing! At the end of the night our guests had been dancing all night (as we had hoped!) and they loved the band so much they screamed for an encore for which the band delivered even with the lights in the ballroom on much to our surprise! We cannot recommend Goody Blue Shoes enough. Our guests still talk about the band and we could not be happier that they loved Goody Blue Shoes as much as we did. I honestly thought all the outstanding reviews for John and Goody Blue Shoes might be too good to be true, but I'm happy to report, that they are 100% genuine. John is a joy to work with and the band is outstanding. John and the band incorporated everything we requested, even things I mentioned in passing and ideas I mentioned that I didn't think would be possible. The songs they learned specifically for us made the night unforgettable and John even rewrote lyrics for our father daughter dance to John Legend's Save Room. I also have to call out Marissa singing Whitney and Beyoncé and so many other powerful songs that made our wedding reception the epic dance party of my dreams. We have a running joke in our family that no has been able to top my cousin's wedding over 10 years ago, who also had an amazing band, but thanks to GBS, I am now the winner.

First, a little on how great it is to work with John. We booked GBS back in 2019 – for a 2020 wedding that got postponed and he made the process of moving to 2021 swift and painless. John gave us advice (and pep talks) and we just moved the timeline right along. He listened to what we like and don’t like to hear at weddings, aided us with choices determining the flow of the night and we could tell he took a lot of time and preparation to make sure it was an unforgettable night. And that it was! GBS learned and played our first song to absolute perfection. They were so engaging with the crowd (even got my Dad dancing and that is HUGE). I don't even know where to start about how amazing Goody Blue Shoes and John are. My husband and I actually drove to see them perform in Atlantic City at a bridals how. I remember leaving the show to meet with John and thinking we have to have this band. Not only was the price so reasonable for a 10 piece band, but they also had energy that I knew would make my wedding so special. Trust me, I was not wrong. I still have wedding guests that will mention how great this band was when talking about my wedding. They kept people dancing and really tailored their song selection to the preferences of my husband and I. It was better than I ever could have imagined!! I loved them so much, we also booked a small ensemble for our ceremony. I was so pleasantly surprised about how easy it was to tailor song selection. From our procession down the aisle to the final song of the night, it was all customized to what we wanted. I also have to give a huge shout out to John. He was amazing to work with. Not only was he the coordinator for the band, but he also became like a wedding coordinator for us!! He was so responsive to all my questions and concerns. He was also available to give feedback of what has worked in the past and how we could make things work for my venue and schedule. I cannot express enough how happy we were with Good Blues Shoes. Extremely professional and organized. They take the time to walk through the entire event with you to make sure it is exactly what you wanted and then they execute that plan beautifully. As a musician myself, I was extremely impressed with the band's versatility--they sounded good playing everything (even learning a Thai pop song in scratch). Highly recommend!

I cannot express how incredible John and GBS are. Unfortunately because of COVID we did not get to see them live before the wedding. Despite this, John made my husband and I feel so comfortable throughout the process and assured us we were in good hands. Boy did they deliver. To be honest, when planning our wedding we were set on having a DJ. However, my parents insisted on booking GBS because they had seen them perform and knew they were amazing. After our first meeting with John we knew that we had to have GBS at our wedding. The idea of having a DJ was instantly thrown out the window! John is truly an amazing individual. Planning a wedding in the midst of a pandemic was super stressful, and John went out of his way to support us every step of the way. Every conversation started off with him asking how we were doing. John truly cares about the couples he works with and will do whatever he can to make sure that your wedding day is exactly what you want. Due to COVID-19 restrictions we weren’t able to have our ceremony inside the church like we had planned. As soon as we found this out my husband and I knew that we wanted John to be our officiant. We reached out to John and he instantly agreed to be our officiant! John was available to talk whenever we needed to and even helped me to incorporate several surprises for my husband within our ceremony. John and his band even went out of their way to record a demo of our first dance song so we could practice it at our dance lessons. GBS had everyone dancing throughout the entire evening. We have had to postpone our reception 3 times because of COVID but every time we talk to John he makes us feel at ease and reminds us that GBS is here for us. Prior to ever being engaged, we saw Goody Blue Shoes while we were out to dinner at PJ Whelihan’s. My wife and I decided on hiring a band for our wedding as opposed to having a DJ. We thought live music would be a great addition to really get our guests involved and get the party moving. We decided to go with Goody Blue Shoes, because the price was reasonable and John LaPalomento was such a pleasure to interact with. The band made time for us, worked around our busy schedules, and he did a fantastic job as master of ceremonies. We had one special request and that was for the band to learn crocodile rock as it is our 8 month old nephew's favorite song. John and the band were happy to oblige. Wow. Wow is all I can really say John and the entire GBS band goes ABOVE and beyond for every single couple. Unfortunately, I have not been able to be BLOWN away by GBS work for my own wedding (yet) due to postponing to next summer for COVID, but they are one of my few vendors who have been accommodating throughout the entire process. In fact, I would even consider John a friend. He was there to talk with my fiancé and I through all of our stress and worries. He assisted us in each step of the process. My fiancé and I have had GBS booked for our wedding that would have been in April however due to the pandemic we have now had to reschedule both April and August wedding receptions. John has been nothing short of supportive and understanding throughout. It was easy to rebook with him for our August date. And now that that is not going on, he has been positive and encouraging for whenever said future date will be. BEST BAND EVER! We could not have made a better decision for our wedding-- Goody Blue Shoes was truly the life of the party. After talking to John and seeing the band perform at a local venue last winter, we booked them on the spot and could not have possibly been happier with our choice! I knew how amazing they were and they still somehow exceeded my expectations. Throughout the planning John was always there to help plan exactly what you want. He even gave us great advice not pertaining to music. He is so easy to talk to and definitely helped calmed nerves when my dad decided last minute he wanted to give a toast. He helped me hire a string trio, design the lighting in the tent, and even turned into a DJ for the extra hour we booked at our venue. He and the band made my vision of turning Rick Astley's Never Gonna Give You Up into a slow song and made it into something so extraordinary, I'll never forget it. The variety of music they play appeal to all ages and there is no genre they don't play. They played everything from hip hop and current hits to motown and country and they do it all so well! The band was interactive during their performances and never took a break. Their energy set the tone of the night and we couldn't be happier. During and after the wedding all people could talk about was how good the band was. The dance floor was packed all night and that's exactly what we wanted. I can't wait to plan girls nights out to go see them when they play at Hard Rock or other local venues. Seriously, don't wait, call them now!

Best wedding band ever!! They will have the dance floor packed from start to finish. Aunts and uncles who have never danced at a family wedding before were even on the dance floor. So much energy. They definitely make the bride and groom feel very special and truly get to know them . All of the wedding guests were raving about the band and how much fun they had at the wedding.

Goody Blue Shoes literally MADE our wedding the amazing and fun event that it was. The dance floor was crowded for the entire night, and I still get compliments about their skill and attention to detail. Not only was the event perfect - several songs learned for our ceremony, including a surprise recessional with the brass instruments, but an amazing cocktail hour as well. The band learned our wedding song - IN FRENCH - and Marissa killed it. Her vocals are truly stunning. But even more than the day of the event - was the above and beyond dedication and personalized service throughout the planning process. John met with us several times and remembered EVERYTHING. When we thought we might lose my father in law just a week before the wedding, John came to our house at 8pm to meet with us, and talk over options and how we might like to honor him. He was extremely thorough, kind, never felt like a "vendor" but always a friend. He came up with compromises and solutions we didn't even know were possible. There is no other band you should book for your wedding! From day one of working with John, he was professional, organized, and truly cared about making our wedding day special for us. On the day of, John made sure everything ran smoothly and really set the pace for the evening. The band - the most talented and enthusiastic musicians I have seen at a wedding. Goody Blue Shoes is the best wedding band! I've been to several weddings with bands and absolutely none compared to this band. Staff at the wedding venue even commented to us and many of our guests that Goody Blue Shoes was the best wedding band at any of the weddings they hosted. The band had every single person at our wedding on the dance floor the entire night, including the guests that do not typically dance. Almost every single one of our guests has reached out to us commenting on how exceptional the band was and how it was the best/most fun wedding they had ever been to. John worked extensively with us prior to the wedding to ensure we created the perfect environment and had all our wants/needs met on the big day. The planning process with John was exceptionally easy. He took the responsibility off of us to make sure everything was in order because he was so proactive in setting up calls/meetings with us starting a couple months before the wedding. Each meeting he set a different agenda, letting us know in advance the topics to be covered so we were prepared to discuss each (genres of music to be played, song selections, day of timeline, introductions, etc). Throughout this process John became more of a friend than just the face of our band. We really got to know each other so on the wedding day it was like hanging out with an old friend. The band really cares about their couples and takes the time to get know them. We are so lucky to have had Goody Blue Shoes at our wedding and are looking for any excuse to throw another party to have them play at. THANK YOU!

Goody Blue Shoes Band is OFF THE CHARTS AMAZING! We can't even put into words how incredibly happy we are with choosing this band. Everyone has been telling us "You had such a great band!", "Every time I tried to take a break, they played another great song! I couldn't stop dancing all night!" "You're wedding was so much fun!" and this is exactly what we told John we wanted to achieve. John is literally the coolest guy, he's so down to earth and chill he makes wedding planning so easy. Goody Blue Shoes is the best band! John was so easy to work with and one of the nicest most accommodating people you will ever work with. We heard the band play at our friends wedding in 2017 and knew (even before being engaged) they would play at our wedding... and they did! Even now, 6 months after the big day, we are still being told by friends and family how amazing our band was. We couldn't have asked for a better day and lucky for us, they will be playing at some of our friends/family weddings. Can't wait to see them all again!

We had Goody Blue Shoes play for our wedding a few weeks ago, and they honestly were my absolute favorite part of the whole day. They did an absolute AMAZING job. It was an blessing to have worked with John. He really took the time to get to know us and helped us plan the most amazing party. People were dancing the entire night. They really kept the party going until the lights came on. Everyone at the wedding was begging for more, screaming, “one more song.” We had people text/write letters saying how good they were and how they had the best time at our wedding. We cannot thank Goody Blue Shoes enough for really helping us celebrate and have the best dance party ever! They are hands down the best in the business and we will recommend them to everyone!!

I found Goody Blue Shoes on a wedding website, but actually used them for a very large formal Holiday Party. We had around 600 people in attendance, and everyone had a great time! I highly recommend Goody Blue Shoes.

Well everyone’s daughters wedding of course is perfect! My daughters too was perfect! After everything is over and you’ve had time to relax after all the planning, what one this would you want or could do to remind you of such a wonderful day?? Cake?? Dinner?? Buy flowers?? Pictures??Listen/dance to music?? DING DING DING!!! My daughters wedding was in early October and at Thanksgiving people were still talking about the wedding especially the band. At Christmas again still talking about the band. New Year’s Eve I went out with some friends that attended the wedding and they had said the band that Samantha and James had at their wedding was “GREAT” was one “AWESOME” was said and “Where did they find that band they blow the place away.” I know it is now February 1, 5 months after her wedding and we can not wait to go out and dance the night away like we did back in October. I am so glad that they still perform at restaurants/bars and are not just weddings only. If you need a band I, We highly recommend GBS!! They performed for the cocktail hour which was beautiful! They played non stop. They were going to perform at the church but we had already book musicians before we hired GBS. They were dressed for the occasion. They came out onto the dance floor and had guest sing with them, it was phenomenal! I’m not just saying this because it was my daughters wedding, but the music can break or make any event and GBS went above and behind! I don’t want to leave out the MC John who did an outstanding job. Guest were saying how nice and friendly he was. If I’m not mistaken I think the venue were the wedding was held now has them on their list of bands! I could go on and on about my daughters wedding but this BAND GOODY BLUE SHOES IS THE WAY TO GO!!! Goody Blue Shoes (GBS) is THE perfect wedding band. My husband Brad and I looked at a number of bands in the Philadelphia area and none was the right fit...until I met John. I just so happened to hear GBS warming up for a gig at Doylestown Country Club. I kid you not - they played 2 chords of a song I don't happen to like (sorry John, but it goes with the story!) and I was FLOORED. I said to my MIL "I need to get their card" and they heard me whisper from the back of the room. I called John and INSTANTLY felt comfortable with him. He answered all of my probing questions, wanted to lean more about what I was looking for in my Jewish wedding and joked with me about the crazy spelling of my last name. We talked for a while! I told my husband (then fiancé!) that we HAD to go listen to GBS play a set so we could see them live. Two notes into "You Are The Best Thing" and he was hooked. We spent the next year and a half working out all of the details with John and it wasn't just business, we became friends. We talked constantly to iron everything out and make sure we'd have the perfect day. John made SURE of that. The wedding was incredible and a HUGE part of that was because of John and the entire GBS crew. Our family and friends still (two months later) can't stop talking about how great they were. Our one friend remarked - "we went to another wedding the night before yours and it was fun, but your wedding was F-U-N, FUN!!! because of the band. He even got John's card! I am now a self-proclaimed GBS groupie and am currently trying to convince engaged friends to hire them - fingers crossed. I'd also be remiss to mention that GBS traveled from South Jersey all the way to my suburban wedding which isn't around the corner. AND they are EXTREMELY reasonably-priced for a band of their size and talent. I also should mention that John helped me iron out details that weren't even related to the band and offered sound advice and reminders that at the end of the day, we'd be married no matter what!
