The entire experience with GBS was a 10/10 experience. Meeting with John over the course of a few months to talk out the entire ceremony/reception was truly a treat. The executed our vision perfectly!!! So many guests complimented the band and we are so happy we went with them. I can't recommend them enough!!!

Fantastic experience! John was great to work with. We used their smaller band, The Late Night Specials with Matt as MC and it was a great experience! I cannot say enough good things about the Goody Blue Shoes Party Band! From our first conversation with John, I knew our wedding was going to be in great hands. John was so detailed oriented, meeting with us multiple times before the wedding to get to know us as a couple, going over details of the flow of the wedding, and also really fine tune our music preferences. My stress before the wedding was really at ease thanks to John. As for the day of, guests still are talking about how incredible GBS was! If I could give Goody Blue Shoes 100 stars, I would. My wedding was in June of 2024 and 4 months later, every time someone talks about my wedding they note how awesome the band was. John (the band leader) was incredible to work with. He was communicative, kind and friendly. He made my husband and I feel even more excited for our wedding. At the wedding they played at the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. John had great suggestions for music and listened to exactly what we wanted. The dance floor was packed for the whole reception and we had SO much fun at the wedding, largely thanks to Goody Blue Shoes. If they do weddings in your area you would be missing out if you didn’t have them for your wedding.

What can I even begin to say? My now husband and I hired GBS for our September wedding and they exceeded all of our expectations. John was the best vendor we had.. we truly had so much trust in him from the times we met leading up to our wedding day. Having had GBS took so much stress off our shoulders that day. They played everything from Levels by Aviici to 80’s to pop punk and played it so well! Our dance floor was packed all night. I first experienced the party and excitement of Goody Blue Shoes at a local restaurant in 2014, from that moment I wanted them to preform at my wedding. Fast forward 9 years, my then boyfriend, Daniel and I got engaged and knew exactly who we wanted to call. If you are looking for an amazing wedding band that guests will not stop talking about The Goody Blue Shoes are that band! We got married in Cape May 5 hours from where we live. An amazing live band was the most important thing we wanted at our wedding. We are fortunate to live in an area that in the summer has endless bars with live music. It is our favorite thing to do but we are also very picky. We had full intentions of hiring one of the local bands we love and having them make the trip. After one meeting with John of The Goody Blue Shoes that all changed. His energy, expertise, and good vibes are infectious. You can tell that this is more than just a job to him and he goes above and beyond to build a relationship with his clients. Even though he had other events going on we always felt like we were his only couple and he always made time for us. John goes over every detail and was almost like having a second wedding planner. His main goal is to make your wedding day perfect in any way that he can. No is not in John's vocabulary if you want something he will make it happen. We could not have been happier with the whole planning process and John made it as stress-free as possible. The band is incredible, our guests cannot stop talking about the band and how amazing they sounded. We had one guest tell us they wished they had heard them before booking their band. They said they are 300 times better than the band they hired and would have flown The Goody Blue Shoes to Maryland! Another guest told us it took him a minute to realize that it was the female vocalist who was singing during our ceremony not a recording. We had a 10-piece band at an extremely affordable price compared to their competitors. John is so attentive and thoughtful. We had dinner with him for our first meeting and had multiple calls and zoom meetings to follow - nailing down timelines, music and special requests. John arranged for a flautist and pianist to play our custom music for the ceremony, had an amazing jazz trio for our cocktail hour, and the full 10-piece band for our reception. They learned multiple songs for us to make our wedding feel personalized and custom and even let my dad who is a musician play with them on some sets. Not to mention- every member of the band is extremely talented. We highly recommend GBS Party Band!

I don't know where to begin telling you about the PERFECT wedding day we had thanks to Goody Blue Shoes! First, John was so kind and responsive to every question that we had. We met with him 3 times prior to the wedding to go over every single detail. He listened to every idea and helped us craft the perfect day. Their pianist is excellent! He accompanied every part of our ceremony and cocktail hour gorgeously. At the end of our ceremony, a few of the horns from the group popped in the back and played us out to "This Will Be", which was just over the top perfection! Everyone was surprised! My favorite part was that my husband and his mother wanted to make a drink together instead of do a first dance. But, they chose "Step In Time" from Mary Poppins (it has a lot of significance for them), and John and the team embraced the idea wholeheartedly and created a beautiful and fun rendition of the song! We are still getting compliments months later from our guests. We all had a fantastic time, and I cannot recommend the Goody Blue Shoes team enough!

Goody Blue Shoes was a HUGE part of making the our wedding day the amazing day it was. John and his team worked so hard to execute our perfect day from the initial call set up to the planning meetings up until our wedding. They made sure every detail and aspect was planned for. When planning your wedding, the reception is a HUGE portion of the day--- having the right band/music sets the ENTIRE reception. I learned through our meetings that John was going to make sure the reception went EXACTLY as we had hoped for. To show the level of detail he goes to - he even talked with the event caterer to know when food would approximately come out to know how many songs we could and in what order the events (such as the cake cutting, first dance, father dance, etc) went! We were so thrilled with how our entire night went and John and his team made sure everything we wanted to happen happened. You will have meetings (more than 1!) that go above and beyond to nail down every detail that is important to you. Another example - he thoroughly goes over pronunciations of each member of the bridal party so every person is announced correctly. Him and his team are so personable. On top of this they are BEYOND talented!!!! Having a band was so important to us to set the tone for an amazing event. If having a band is top of your list (and you want your wedding/event to be unique and top class) then going with GOODY BLUE SHOES is the way to go!!!! Although weddings costs A LOT and bands are more than DJS - having them as a BAND was worth every $ we spent! GBS blew away all expectations for our wedding day! John and the team could not have been more prepared for our big night. John was thorough and met with us multiple times to make sure our day was perfect. Whether it was getting the ceremony audio set up, cocktail hour or the reception itself, GBS had us covered. Our wedding was a few months ago and we still have our guests bringing up how great the band was. You will not find a better band at a more affordable price guaranteed! My husband and I just celebrated our second wedding anniversary and when we think back to how fun our wedding was, we give full credit to the Goody Blue Shoes Band. The dance floor was full all night long and when we see guests from our wedding, they STILL comment on how amazing our wedding band was. Their versatility, stellar vocals, and energy were all out of this world. John was an amazing MC and kept the events of the night moving swimmingly, working closely with the venue coordinator not only the night of but also making several phone calls leading up to the wedding to coordinate things so I didn’t have to worry about it. John made us feel like his only clients throughout the entire process and was super accommodating and flexible when we inevitably needed to a reschedule our wedding due to COVID restrictions. We truly received white glove service from the time we started communicating all the way through to our wedding day. We knew hiring a band would be our splurge wedding item, and cut back on florals / decor to find the band of our dreams. Having a packed dance floor and the party of a lifetime was our goal, and GBS exceeded all expectations. From the moment we spoke with John, we were sold by his charisma and positive demeanor. We were a bit nervous as we didn't have the chance to see GBS in person prior to booking, but we loved their videos so much we knew that they would be great. Well... 1 year later and great doesn't cover it. The goody blue shoes were the absolute highlight of our wedding and kept the party going all night long. They were able to learn all the songs we wanted for those special moments, and curated a set list that matched the exact vibe we were going for. They were even able to keep my 90 year old nana dancing all night which is a feat in itself. Our wedding reception would not have been the same without GBS - from our grand entrance, to our first dance (slow version of brown eyed girl that they learned for us and absolutely crushed), and the hora, they truly went above and beyond. Our guests cannot stop raving about GBS and said it was the best wedding band they had ever heard. To top everything off, GBS surprised us with a last song... "Dancing on My Own" knowing that we were huge Phillies fans and the Phil's won their playoff game during our wedding. GBS also wasn't just spectacular the night of, they were incredible throughout the entire planning process. We met with John multiple times to make sure he had everything covered to create our perfect day. I've already recommended GBS to all of my friends who are planning weddings, and can't wait to see them perform again. They are the best of the best!

We had already hired (and paid for) a DJ, and then we saw a band at a wedding and realized...we needed a band. But not any band. We were extremely picky. We wanted strong vocals, a horn section, and lots of versatility. You. will. not. find. better. than. Goody. Blue. Shoes. I guarantee it. They were THE reason our wedding was awesome. The professionalism from the moment we hired them to the talent the day of, there are truly not enough words. From the pie in the sky wedding processional idea, I had to welcoming my father-in-law, a musician, to sing with them for our first dance. Truly incredible.

HIRE THIS BAND! GBS was one of the first vendors we nailed down when planning our big day. We struck out with the big management folks (1/2 of them flaked), but TEAM GBS was excellent from the first call to the last note. The whole process was fun, and we felt like they really got to know us. The final picture from our wedding was taken from the stage, and the dance floor was completely packed. If I could give this band a 100000/10, I would. There is literally no match to the GBS Band. John is the absolute best. He is an amazing guy and genuinely enjoys getting to know new couple that become new friends. When we first met with John, we spent a little over 3 hours talking about life, marriage and what our wedding means to us. When we pictured our ideal wedding, it included minimal sitting and small talk, and the GBS band delivered just that!!! Our guests were RAVING (and still are!) about the GBS Band. They play an amazing wide range of music that keeps every guest of every age up on the dance floor. We actually had a guest tell us that they felt like the dance floor was too small because it was so crowded all night long. Jared and Marissa are flawless on vocals and the whole band is there to support them. My husband and I are thinking of events we can host so that we can hire the GBS band again. We will definitely be looking into their events at locals bars just so we can see them again. GBS Band made our wedding the most fun night of our lives and we owe it all to them!!! <3

I cannot even put into words how amazing Goody Blue Shoes is!!!! I wish there were more than five stars to review!!! "That band was unreal!!" is all we heard the week after our wedding. They made our entire wedding night and had our guests dancing from beginning to end. Even the guests who do not usually dance were dancing! John was in contact with us leading up to the wedding and was so supportive of our ideas. He got us so hype about our wedding day!!! They truly care about you and want to make sure you have the best wedding. John did a great job of making sure the wedding flowed and that we did not miss a chance to dance! There aren't enough words to express how absolutely outstanding this band is. While planning for our wedding, our one non-negotiable was to have GBS and it was so worth it. Our day was perfect from start to finish. Chris, the piano player, played the most beautiful versions of our favorite songs to help make our ceremony so special. As guests moved into the reception space, the band invited them in with feel-good tunes. When the party got started, everyone was dancing- even Mom-mom! John helped up with every step in planning for a wonderful night and it was executed perfectly. GBS feels like family and we are so grateful for them!

GBS is a once in a lifetime wedding band. It is not possible to accurately describe how this band MADE our wedding... You will really just have to trust and see for yourself when you book them. When searching for a band, I had listened to countless hours and watched an insane amount of footage. Within the first 10 seconds of hearing GBS, I knew we needed to lock this in. Little did I know that this was the best decision and only the beginning. From John's initial contact with us, I knew we were in good hands. He made everything so PERSONAL and genuinely put our minds at ease because this guy has seen it all. He is a true master of not only his craft, but really supporting and planning the flow of day in relation to the music. To my husband and I, the band was the second (aside from the actual marriage) most IMPORTANT part of our day. We knew that if all went wrong and we had no venue, we wanted a band, and we wanted this to feel like a concert. GBS EXCEEDED all expectations of what that meant for us. We had a room full of musicians in attendance, and from the very first set- our guests came up to us saying the same thing: "how the HECK did you find this band". We truly feel so lucky. John has become more of a friend to us throughout the planning process... He offered guidance when asked, and left the personal touches to us, while somehow bringing everything together in the best way possible. Our friends and family have not stopped talking about this band. My husband and I wanted to really be surprised by what the contents of each set would contain, while communicating with John different genres and songs that we do and do not like. By those conversations alone, GBS cultivated a setlist that hit every guests wishlist that they didn't even KNOW they had. They started the night with the music my husband and our families love and resonate with, and transitioned all the way to a 90's throwback absolute RAGER to finish the night having our highschool and college friends losing their minds. Since we will not be getting married again, we will have to just recommend GBS to every single couple we come across. GBS made our entire wedding what it was. Our wedding must-haves were good food and good music - GBS exceeded every sing expectation we have and were so easy to work with. I did SO much research on wedding bands and I would say the one big thing that stood out to me were the break times. So many other bands I spoke to were going to take two 40-minute breaks..not GBS. Their breaks were minimal and even when they did break they made sure the party never stopped. We met with John over zoom a few times prior to the wedding and he really got to know us as a couple and how we imagined our day. The execution was unreal. The group also learned so many of our favorite songs. I had so many guests come up to me the night of the wedding and even after saying the band was the best they had ever seen. No one will remember your flowers, centerpieces, signage, etc - put your money towards the two things that can make or break a wedding - music and food. If I could hire one vendor again - it would hands down be GBS. Thank you, GBS for making our wedding the best.

If I could only recommend one vendor from my entire wedding.....GBS would be it. There aren't enough words to describe how great they were. I originally reached out to them based on a recommendation from a friend and the minute I got on the phone with John, I knew I wanted them at my wedding. John's pre wedding process is absolutely unmatched. You can tell he truly cares about his couples and wants to get to know them so he can really customize their sets. We had multiple zoom calls and even went out for dinner and drinks a month before the wedding to nail down every detail. The day of the wedding you would have thought John was a part time wedding coordinator. Our timeline ran exactly how it was supposed to (or if it didn't, nobody knew) because of John. The band sounded AMAZING and had people on the dance floor all night. My dad chose a very unique father daughter song (Thank You by Led Zeppelin) that I was nervous about trying to replicate. GBS took it and created the most beautiful version of it that I could have imagined. Whenever anyone talks about our wedding the first thing they mention is how incredible GBS was. I couldn't imagine my day without them. Book them ASAP. I can't wait to go party with them the next time they do a local gig!!

BOOK. THIS. BAND. I can’t begin to say how much John and the rest of Goody Blue Shoes made our wedding the most amazing night ever! We are 4 months into our marriage and still CONTINUOUSLY getting compliments on the band! My absolute favorite thing about John is that he took the time to get to know my husband and I. During our first meeting, we talked about our favorite music styles, but he mostly asked us about how my husband and I met, fun facts and stories about us, and everything else to get to know us. After this initial meeting, John made the process of choosing our song list and the vibes for our wedding the easiest and most exciting journey. Music was the most important aspect of our wedding and I can only begin to express my happiness on our decision to choose Goody Blue Shoes for both our cocktail hour, reception, and private last dance. *And the most reasonably priced band we talked to!!!* They not only knew exactly what myself, my husband, and the crowd were looking for but are INCREDIBLY talented. I’ve made so many recommendations for future brides I know personally, so I knew I needed to do it on here, too. WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? We cannot thank John and Goody Blue Shoes enough for what an amazing job they did on our big day! All through the pandemic John worked with us to make sure our wedding day was every bit as special as we wanted it to be. We had to postpone in addition to switching venues, and John was just a short text or phone call away to make sure the rescheduling worked for GBS. As for the wedding itself, unbelievable! High energy from the start and it never trailed off! Had people up and dancing the whole night, my husband and I never left the dance floor once! We couldn’t recommend them enough, nor can we thank them enough for their friendliness and determination to make our wedding truly unforgettable! We are so lucky to have been able to book them and gain some new friends in the process!

Goody Blue Shoes is absolutely top notch, the reviews don't lie! John is the nicest, most fun, and most valuable vendor we worked with during our entire wedding. Every time we spoke, we came away excited and with a sense of confidence that everything would go as planned and we would have a great time. What I didn't realize beforehand, is that the band is the glue that makes the entire reception happen (what happens, when things happen, working closely with the photographer and venue). And all of that just speaks to how great it was to work with GBS, now let me get to the music! We are bias, but GBS made our wedding incredible. From literally the first song of the first set, all of our guests were on the dance floor, and everyone continued to dance for hours and hours. The next morning, all anyone could say was 'who was your band', 'how did you find them', 'that was the best band we've ever seen at a wedding'... I felt bad taking any credit for finding them, but GBS absolutely made our wedding a day to never forget (of course for us, but also for all of our guests). INCREDIBLE!

We booked GBS for our wedding and it was the best decision we made!!! John made the planning process so easy and fun and they truly made the night spectacular!!! People haven’t stopped raving about how incredible the music was. They know how to keep people dancing! STOP SEARCHING AND HIRE GOODY BLUE SHOES!! JOHN SAVED OUR WEDDING AND WE LEGITIMATELY WOULD NOT BE MARRIED WITHOUT HIM. My fiancé and I knew we wanted to hire a band for our wedding so we started looking right away. After doing our fair share of online research, we checked out about 5 bands in person. Many have showcases where you sit and they play a couple of songs, but John invited us to see them at a local venue. We instantly fell in love with how GBS so effortlessly got everyone dancing and having a great time. What makes John so great is how much he truly cares about what he does, and cares about YOU. He took time to ask questions and get to know us as a couple, beyond the usual small talk when you meet a vendor. Our original wedding date was May 23, 2020, so COVID threw a wrench in our plans. We had 2 other wedding dates before our final date of September 6, 2021, and John was able to work with us to QUICKLY let us know the band’s availability and rebook with ease. During the planning session of our big day, he could sense we were stressed and burnt out due to the impacts of COVID-19. He actually took the time to talk to us, ask us how we were doing, and GET US PUMPED about our own wedding. I will never forget that evening. We met to go over wedding plans but it felt more like hanging out with a friend. John will work directly with your venue to take off some of the burden. This is a huge relief, but even more appreciated when our friend who was to officiate tested positive for COVID-19 five days before our wedding. We found another officiant, but then the next day his apartment flooded and his car totaled when Hurricane Ida showed up. TWO DAYS before our wedding we had no one to marry us. I vaguely remembered John saying he had married a couple before, so I frantically asked if he could marry us and HE SAVED THE DAY. He was able to work directly with our friend who had already come up with the ceremony and knocked it out of the park as our wedding officiant. John also worked directly with a string quartet he recommended (Cherrywood String Ensembles – so great), to arrange for ceremony music. After MARRYING US, John led the band during our cocktail hour (so recommend you use them for this), and then rocked it all night for our reception. EVERYONE came up to us and said how great the band was. They played a bit of everything and made sure everyone was having a great time. They are fantastic musicians and great hosts. They really are worth 5x what they charged and we would hire them again in an instant. John was also really great at letting us break up the final cost into multiple payments and the deposit to book is very cheap compared to other bands. PLEASE do yourself a favor and HIRE THEM. We can honestly say that we have gained a true friend with John and we are GBS groupies for life. THANK YOU GBS!

One of the best bands I've ever seen at a wedding. My daughter and son-in-law picked different genres they wanted to hear and Goody Blue Shoes did them all very, very well - Beatles, Pitbull, Beach Boys, The Killer and more. I'm not sure you can find a band with a horn section that's this good for the price. Thanks for a GREAT time!!!

Hi John and the Goody Blue Shoes gang! We wanted to send you all a belated THANK YOU for being such a critical part of our New Year's Eve wedding. We have been mulling over how we can possibly express in words our gratitude for your band's unbelievable performance and support during and leading up to our wedding day. As you know, we were unlucky with the timing of our wedding -- Omicron was at its peak during the holidays, and so many of our guests had been exposed to the variant leading up to the wedding. As if planning a wedding in the ordinary course isn't stressful enough, in just the few days leading up to the wedding, we had a nearly 30% cancellation from our guests. We were gutted, anxious and super disappointed with the circumstances. During the 48 hours prior to our wedding, John continued to reassure a very distressed bride that the band is "going to make sure everyone has a good time." And Goody Blue Shoes certainly delivered. We had the most incredible night of fun and dance with an intimate group of friends and family -- you helped pull off nothing short of a miracle wedding that we will cherish and remember for the rest of our lives. There was so much energy from the band that kept our guests on the dance floor all night long. The songs were right on point with our specific and general requests. The groom would especially like to express gratitude for playing Man in the Mirror, which got the attention of his friends who couldn't resist getting on the floor during dinner to air guitar and dance to the song. We had so much fun that evening, and the band got us dancing so hard that the groom ripped his pants! :) No one wanted the night to end, even though you performed well past midnight, at which point everyone was asking for ONE MORE SONG! John, you have been a coach/therapist/friend throughout the whole process. From our first consultation to the big day (and all the lengthy conversations in between), you have been an ear and guide to pulling off a wedding that was unique and special to us. We benefited from your extensive knowledge and experience with wedding planning and vendor coordination. You shared so many important suggestions, such as having all the New Year's Eve accessories at the front of the stage so the guests would not have to leave the dance floor during the countdown. You listened to our vision and executed beyond our expectations not just the music, but the ambience for the evening -- a sweet and emotional ceremony to a hyper energetic reception. Without exaggeration, Good Blue Shoes SAVED our wedding. Thank you truly from the bottom of our heart.

Where do we even begin? This is the best wedding band you can possibly book so if you're reading this now- look no further!! John answered our inquiry ASAP and helped us make our COVID wedding the most fun wedding we could possibly imagine. ALL of our guests have told us that our band was incredible (because they were). We met with John about two weeks after booking to discuss our vision for that night. We told him we wanted to be exhausted from dancing so much. Well- every single song they played was a banger and each song led right into the next! It honestly was nonstop dancing for two hours! John- your band is absolutely incredible.
