The mountains great! Plain and simple. Lots of great runs to be had on lifts sporadically placed over several peaks. The way the lifts and trails are designed and laid out really makes you think about the runs you want to take. It keeps things ...
interesting. Not all the lifts are fast but most of them are quick enough to not be a schlage. There's a few flat spots at the tops of lifts which, as a boarder, is a little annoying but it comes with the territory at certain mountains.
My only gripe is that not all staff seem super happy or personable but that's what you get when you have so many bodies working for the same location. A couple of non-talkers. A couple staff not responding back when you smile to them. Not everybody's going to have great customer service skills or be in the best of moods while they're at work. There were a few folks cleaning up The lodges and operating the lifts that were super happy and a delight to engage with.
Not necessarily egregious but the one that affected me the most was somebody in the repair department. They didn't know how to approach or even be remotely interested in looking at my boa malfunction in my boots. I did some research on the spot and just needed a flathead screwdriver which they did give me (kudos) and I fixed it myself. Excited to fix my boots for nothing, on returning the screwdriver I genuinely inquired "you guys want to learn about this" and was met with "no, not really". No skin off my back but those guys didn't want to apply themselves that day.
There's plenty of sitting areas and spots to store your gear when you're out on the mountain. The bars and restaurants are great! They charge a very fair amount compared to other mountains I've been to.
The new Lodge at North ski bowl is off the charts awesome! I know it's a different entity but Timber and Thyme is an excellent establishment that will no doubt attract people to the lodge that are not even skiing. Those guys are a complete 180 regarding the customer service experience I had throughout my day on the mountain. It was a great way to end my first time at Gore since I was 18. I'm a happy season pass holder.

Gore Mountain is a fantastic ski area. It has a great variety of trails with a number of great options for all level skiers. Every time I go somewhere else in the East I realize just how amazing Gore Mountain is. The lifts are quick and the lin...
es are rarely long, especially compared to elsewhere. Staff and your fellow skiers are friendly. Highly recommended!

Gore is my big season pass mountain and though I agree you have to shlep around between mountains and trails, the actual trails are well maintained and this mountain has some of the best intermediate/expert tree glades in the Northeast. The rea...
son I'm writing this review is to commend the ski tuning shop, with a pass holder discount and a crew that does a great job of tuning and waxing my boards. I often hear about people paying a small fortune to tune up their boards, binding mounting, etc. but the crew at Gore does an excellent job keeping me upright with the inevitable encounters with "firm" conditions. Keep up the great work!

Gore Mountain has become my go to favorite ski area. I love the Adirondacks and the vibe of the whole place. I usually rent a VRBO in the area and ski for 2 days. The mountain has a variety of difficulty that suits all preferences. Great al...
ternative than heading to crowded Vermont resorts. Good lodge and good selection for lunch if you did not bring your own. Conditions have always been top notch.

Gore Mountain is scenic and large, but the experience was deeply frustrating. The mountain has far too many flat sections, making it a poor choice for snowboarders and even inconvenient for skiers. You constantly have to push or walk, which com...
pletely kills the flow of the day.
The lodge and food situation was unacceptable. With only a couple of lodges, lunchtime turned into chaos. I waited over 25 minutes in line only to find out they were only serving cheese quesadillas, with zero communication to customers. The food quality was bad, the menu was extremely limited, and the coffee was awful. Staff appeared stressed and management clearly failed to control crowd flow or food inventory.
Overall, poor planning, poor food service, and an unfriendly layout make this mountain not worth returning to. I would choose Stratton or Killington every time.
