G.O.T. Groove

If I can put modesty aside, I count myself and the roughly 210 attendees of my and my lovely bride's wedding in New Orleans, the center of all things funky and exultant, as more able than the average party-goer to identify a great band. Not just a great wedding band, but a great band of any kind. I'm a musician. So a lot of my guests were musicians and many more were deep lovers of music. Because everyone present knows me and my wife and our intense relationship to music, there was actually a fair bit of pressure on us to have booked an excellent wedding band. To add to that, it was French Quarter Fest weekend - there was incredible music all around us every day. Living up to that level was a tall order. So when I tell you that I had guests making it a point to come to me before the salad course was finished, not just to congratulate us on our nuptials but specifically to comment on how incredible the vocalists and rotation of instrumentalists were during the dinner portion of Got Groove's hours-long non-stop performance, it meant something to me. Playing music (with vocals especially) during a wedding dinner without overshadowing conversation is a tough thing to really pull off. From volume to song choices to arrangements and the performances themselves, there are a lot of needles to thread. These guys did it flawlessly. In fact, I should mention that, although I'm not the biggest fan of modern pop music, frankly preferring the obscure and the objectionable, during initial consultation I went against my judgement and granted the band manager Johnny's request to trust the band's dinner set chops and let them "do their thing." I'm very glad I did. I'll make mention here, before I forget, of Johnny's communication. He was very receptive to my ideas and, when there was an initial communication, made it a point to clear the air and meet me where I was coming from. I was probably more opinionated than most grooms as concerned band specifics, but I appreciated the space he made for my requests - as well as the aforementioned standing his ground as related to trusting the band to execute the vision we'd agreed on. He didn't overpromise. He just asked me to trust in the band's ability to read the room and to throw a party. Got Groove is a band of experts, well-versed and well-honed, and I'm glad I trusted them. They killed it. Back to the dance floor. We had communicated a somewhat complex arrangement for our 'entrance moment' and first dance, with less time than we should have given them (about two weeks out). We had specific dance steps and I arranged a classic song and sent them the audio to learn. They nailed it. Next up - Mother/Groom and Father/Bride dances. Again, nailed. The longer the night went on, the more people were talking to me, asking me about this incredible band. "Who are these singers?!" "Who is that drummer?!" "Where did you find these guys!!?" (Our wedding planner suggested them) Oh yeah - one of the absolute highlights was me getting up on stage and joining the band for a 10 minute funk medley. That wouldn't work with every band, but again, Got Groove is a professional band. It's hard to understand the difference a really great band makes until you hear that extra punch. It's not a note-for-note replica. It's interwoven medleys and rearrangements that play to the night's ebbs and flows. Impressive stuff. Thanks for putting on a real show on what was an incredible night in New Orleans. Y'all Got Groove.

The absolute best decision we made for our wedding was booking Got Groove. We booked this band off of a recommendation from our wedding planner and, because of that recommendation, doing further research to listen to their demos and we could not have loved them more. They were THE perfect band for our wedding. We had the absolute time of our lives on our wedding night and so did every one of our guests. We got so many compliments on Got Groove and even had some friends book them for their upcoming summer wedding. Cannot recommend enough!!! They truly care about catering your event to your own taste, played every requested song we sent and tailored the night to the genres of music we enjoy most. If I could do it over, I would book them again every single time. You won’t go wrong booking this band for any event you may have!

Got Groove was incredible! They seamlessly transitioned from Motown, to disco, to pop, to rap. The band played all of our special requests, and the dance floor was packed the entire night!

GOT Groove was awesome! The band really did “make the wedding” and had the whole crowd dancing. They put on a great show. Johnny and the band members had a “can-do” attitude about some last minute changes, and the way they helped orchestrate the first dance was perfect. They were the perfect band!

I cannot say enough amazing things about GOT Groove!! I initially saw them when they played at my friends wedding in 2019, and I decided then and there if I ever got married I needed them as my wedding band. Fast forward to my own wedding April 2024, and I was blown away again. Every single guest at our wedding commented on how amazing the band was. The dance floor was filled the ENTIRE night. Book this band, you will not regret it!!!

I booked GOT Groove for my wedding in May, and I was BEYOND impressed. Guests are still talking about how great they were! G.O.T. Groove was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Starting from the beginning, they were extremely easy to communicate with during the booking process, very quick to reply to emails and gave us plenty of information to help us pick the best option for our big day. The band members, singers, performers were all AMAZING! Our wedding basically became a huge dance party because these guys and gals know how to get a crowd going. We barely left the dance floor the whole night and had the best time of our lives, with a big thanks to GOT Groove. Everyone who attended the wedding commented on how great the band was! After our reception, we spoke with the performers and they were just the nicest people. So kind and so fun! GOT Groove brings great vibes to events! I HIGHLY recommend them! And would 100% hire them again for events in the future. Yall are the best!

GOT Groove is an awesome band to book for your wedding! They are super fun and keep the crowd engaged and having a great time! The dance floor at my wedding was consistently packed with guests dancing the night away! They also did my second line from my church to venue which was an absolutely incredible experience. We couldn’t have asked for a better group for our wedding band!!!! They were easy to work and communicate with. They played all of the songs we requested and even learned some new ones for us! GOT Groove was such a highlight of our night! The dance floor was packed all night long. After the wedding, they were all any of the guests could talk about. For us, they made everything easy, we literally just showed up! They did such a good job of matching the music to all the changing moods of the night doing everything from classic cocktail music and street jazz, to blues, modern hits and everything in between. What was also so special for us is they were able to expand and bring in a latin singer and percussionist which was a total hit for the blending of our families. Book em. You will NOT be disappointed!

Got Groove was AMAZING!!!! Our family and friends stayed on the dance floor the entire night which is exactly what we wanted. The band was one of the most, if not the most, important aspect of my reception to me and my husband, and they did not disappoint! I always say a band makes the reception and that could not be more true for Got Groove. We had so many people ask us after the fact who the band was, how to find them on social media, etc. Truly so awesome! Yomond sang our first dance song and our last "private" dance song and both were incredible. My dad and a few of my uncles got up there to play drums, sing, and play guitar for one song and the band members were right there with them movin' and groovin'! My step-daughter also loved them and jammed with the lead singers the whole night, even having dance-offs. Thank you to Got Groove, our wedding would not have been the same without you!

The booking process and communication was fantastic from day one. Whenever James and I talk wedding memories with friends and family…even now over a month later…they still talk about these amazing performers. GOT Groove was an amazing part of our wedding experience! HANDS DOWN! Their energy was unmatched with the music selection. Nearly everyone of my guests made it to the dance floor at least once, if not the whole time to groove and dance the night away. Even my 89 y/o grandma made it to the floor for a song or two. I, the bride, stayed in front of the stage nearly the whole night dancing away with my husband. I have had so many friends/guests ask who they were, where are they from and how did I find them! BOOK THEM NOW! You will not regret it if you want a band to set the mood for your reception/special day!

TLDR: Book GOT Groove. Don't question or doubt your decision, they are AMAZING and I promise they will exceed your expectations. Me and my family care a lot about music (we have a ton of musicians in the family so I was STRESSING about this decision). I initially tried to book their brother band but the price was a bit out of my budget. At first I was worried about not knowing who would be our exact musicians were, but every single one of them was so talented and exuded excellence, I could not believe it. Half the time at my reception, I was literally standing in front of the stage with my jaw dropped in awe of how amazing they sounded. It was like being at our own personal concert on frenchman... except better. They even let me, my husband, and my bridesmaids on stage to sing a song with them for a song! Our three singers, Kentro, Colleen, and one other person whose name I didn't catch (sorry) were unbelievable. All of them gave me goosebumps and I wanted to be their friends! The energy was UNMATCHED and everyone at our wedding RAVED about how good they were, weeks after our wedding they are still a talking point for all our friends and family. They really knew how to work a crowd, get people hyped, and engage everyone; I was so worried that people wouldn't be dancing, but GOT Groove blew everyone away and you couldn't NOT be on the dance floor. I truly couldn't have asked for a better band and cannot thank them enough for the amazing experience and energy. I also couldn't believe they learned all of our first dance songs (which aren't really popular or well known) and sung them so beautifully. Johnny was also so easy to work with and always answered all of my questions; they made sure that we had all the audio equipment we needed for our ceremony (mics for our officiant/vows/for my brother who played the guitar and sang while I walked down the aisle). They're the whole package and will have your back for literally any audio need you have beyond just music; Truly don't look further, this is your sign. Book them as your band!

Book this band!!! One of the first comments about our big day was about how amazing GOT Groove was! They had the party going the whole time and the unexpected part was the interactiveness that was had. Everyone was having the best time and GOT Groove was a huge reason for that. We just loved them!

BEST WEDDING BAND EVER! Hands down! We started talking with Got Groove during COVID pandemic, when seeing bands live was nearly impossible. We made the risky decision to move forward without hearing them, based on the many recommendations we’d heard and I am so glad we did! I cannot express how many compliments we received during and after the wedding in regards to the band. They were so fun! So interactive! So entertaining!! Would recommend to any and everyone for any kind of event.

A M A Z I N G ! Don't think twice- just book them. This band is so talented- all genres, all decades, a true crowd pleaser. We felt like we were at a concert with amazing music. All of our guests were up out of their seats dancing, and couldn't believe how talented the band was. None of us pictured "Sweet Child of Mine" as a wedding finale- but when the crowd chanted "one more song!" and the band asked us what we wanted to hear- we told them it was their choice. And man, it was awesome! We found GOT Groove through their sister band, but honestly it was a blessing in disguise that they were booked and we were able to have GOT Groove instead. Best wedding band ever, hands down!

This band was hands-down the best part of our wedding! I cannot tell you how many friends and family members have said this is the best wedding band they've heard and that this wedding was the most fun they had been to. One of my friends had 3 back-to-back weddings after ours and she told me that GOT Groove ruined other wedding bands for her because the other wedding bands couldn't compare to how amazing GOT Groove was. They managed to play every genre, kill each song, and get everyone on the dance floor. They can cover ANYTHING. Trust them--they feel the crowd and will know just what to play. We found ourselves listening Cardi B, Nirvana, Kanye West, The Temptations, Snoop Dogg, Ozzy Ozborne, Beyonce, Marvin Gaye, and the list goes on. They are also amazing at blending all these genres together in such a fun way. We were so sad when their set was ending--we have pictures of our guests bowing and applauding them. They finished off strong with an acapella version of Shout that had everyone stomping and singing, and then they played the music for our second line. Look no further!

GOT Groove was my favorite part of our wedding celebration! We hired GOT groove based on recommendation from our planner, who was backed by many 5 star reviews. Being from out of state, we had no clue what they would sound like but figured we could trust our sources. THEY BLEW US ALL AWAY! 10 months later and people are still raving about the band from our wedding. We spent the entire night dancing and they kept the party going nonstop from start to finish. They also helped mic up the ceremony and played the recorded music we processed in and out to FYI. When our second line band stood us up, they quickly improvised and stepped in so we could still have the experience. GOT Groove thank you for being so kind and so fun. I cannot recommend this group highly enough!

The best wedding band I have EVER seen. I’m not just saying that because they played at my wedding although I feel so very fortunate that they did! G.O.T. Groove is the best band by far! Where do I begin? This band was phenomenal! They came all of the way to the Houma area and stunned us all. Everyone was on their feet dancing the night away. We did not stop until the last song. They put on such an amazing show that we all felt like we were at their concert. They would get my highest recommendation. I highly recommend getting the horns, also. If you are looking for a band to make your reception the best ever, get these guys. Absolutely amazing!!!!!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! GOT Groove is such a fun band! They play music that everyone enjoys - current songs for the younger crowd and oldie faves for the older crowd. The lead singers are so fun and interactive with the guests. Not only were they super fun, but also super helpful during the planning process. They send their song list and are totally open to playing your “must haves” (we had a lot - too many good songs to choose from!) We hear about how fun our wedding was allll of the time, and it was in large part due to this amazing band, GOT Groove!!!

By far the best wedding band in NOLA. They were so much fun, kept the energy up all night, and played so many great songs from different genres. Everyone has been asking us who the band was at our wedding. My wife put me in charge of the food and music for our wedding, and I definitely knocked it out of the park by choosing G.O.T. Groove. Where do I even begin with how AMAZING G.O.T. Groove was at our wedding reception?! Seriously. We had our ceremony on the rooftop and our reception on the second floor of the Chicory. We hired G.O.T. Groove to do our ceremony music, reception band, and to end the night with a second line. From the hiring to the very end of our second line, they were seriously one of the easiest vendors to work with. Our guests danced the night away and had the best time. The dance moves of the lead singers...WOW! They interacted with our guests so much which helped make it even more memorable for everyone. The band also did a great job with feeling the crowd for the songs. Of course, my groom and I had some songs we knew we wanted played and those songs/genres we didn't want played and the band nailed it. It has been 2 and a 1/2 months since we had our big day and family + friends are STILL talking about how amazing the band was. And we got the photos back from our photographer and you can just tell that everyone was having so much fun throughout the night because of the energy G.O.T. Groove was giving us!

Got Groove was seriously THE best band!!! They were extremely easy to work with and knew exactly what they were doing! Got Groove was FANTASTIC!!!!! They were on time, professional and helpful throughout the entire process and delivered an energetic great night of music. We had numerous complements on the band. They have a comprehensive list of songs from different genres to pick from. Their sound and equipment was of high quality. I can Highly Recommend them. You will be quite pleased you did! Choosing a band for our wedding reception was the most difficult decision we had to make during our wedding planning. Finding a band that fits your budget, the reception space, and the sound you are looking for can be really daunting. When we found the band G.O.T. Groove, we immediately knew we loved their sound but was not sure if they were able to fit our budget. Fortunately, John (the band's manager) was gracious enough to work with us and we came to an agreement that we both felt comfortable with. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we had to cancel our April Wedding =(. Again, John was gracious enough to work with us again in finding a solution. We do not know when we will be able to get married in NOLA, but John and G.O.T. Groove will be the first call we make once we do. If you love G.O.T. Groove's sound, please do not hesitate to contact John! They are well worth the call!

Cannot say enough good things about this band! I booked them solely based off The Knot reviews. Up until our wedding day, we never had the opportunity to see them play live. They are AWESOME! Everything you want in a band: interactive, high energy, fun, and memorable. So many people have asked who my band was that night— what a compliment! If you are on the fence about booking GOT GROOVE, don’t be. Book them now! You will have no regrets :).

GOT Groove was amazing for our wedding! Ourselves and our guests were in our mid-late 20's and they had our guests moving the entire time. They played great songs and their energy level was contagious. They also played an amazing cover for our choreographed first dance. I would highly recommend them!

My husband and I had such a great experience with G.O.T. Groove. John was very professional and super responsive. We just attended another wedding last month in NYC, and everyone who attended our wedding was still talking about our band. Vegas was a hit, and she covered all the songs on our playlist. Everyone was very impressed! If you are planning an event soon, we highly recommend hiring G.O.T. Groove as they were the highlight of the reception.

We loved GOT Groove. The band was amazing and surpassed our expectations. They did our ceremony music, second line and our reception - each were fantastic, and they learned songs and did a fabulous job. There were a few minor issues - such as having to provide food prior to the start of everything, but then they still ate our reception food, and a misunderstanding of what time to begin the reception - but those were extremely minor points that certainly did not reflect on the performers and they started as soon as our coordinator provided the contract. The food also wasn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things. Don't hesitate to use them, they really did such an amazing job and sounded so good. They really knew how to put on a great show and they did a spectacular job with the songs we wanted them to learn.

G.O.T. Groove exceeded the expectations we had for our wedding. They were eager and prompt to meet with us during our first consult, responsive to emails leading up to the event, and knew exactly how to work a room. We initially choose them because they had a slightly different, and better, song list than the other bands. They were also open to learning three other songs of our choice. When it came to the wedding day, they seamlessly worked songs together on the fly, based on the temperature of the crowd. They had everyone dancing, including friends and family who I've never seen dance before. The energy was unreal and everyone specifically mentioned them as a highlight after the wedding. I would use them again and easily recommend them.

G.O.T. Groove was the band at my wedding 8/3/19, and I must say that they were perfect. The singers are, not only, great singer, but they also are amazing entertainers. It wasn’t a question who I wanted to play at my wedding. I went to two receptions GOT Groove played at and was blown away each time. They are so incredibly good and so much fun! They are so entertaining and infused the whole night with energy. They truly started the party and made my wedding reception the most fun. I still have my guests talking about them. I have had numerous people ask me what band they were and that they wanted them for their reception! We were all blown away.. They were so inclusive and wanted everyone to join in. The dance floor was full the WHOLE night. I had requested that they play Garth Brooks and told them that my brother in law loves them. They got him on stage and let him sing a few GB songs! It was amazing and I will always remember these sweet memories. I am so grateful for all the memories made that night because of this band. They made our night one to always remember. G.O.T Groove was so much fun for our wedding reception! The constant thing all of our guests have mentioned after the wedding is how much fun the band was and how they interacted with the dance floor. I definitely recommend them for any wedding reception or other event where a fun atmosphere is wanted!

UMM OK -- I'm still in shock from how amazing the wedding day was, and G.O.T. Groove brought THE. HOUSE. DOWN. I'm super picky (being a musician and semi-music snob) and was also overwhelmed by the different band options available. They invited us to check them out at a performance they had at some corporate event. It was reassuring to see them in real life and know they can bring it for reals. I cannot tell you how many people came up to me and said how much fun they had and how awesome the band was. People were asking what the name of the band was. They had everyone dancing and singing along. We requested a wide range of music -- from 60s soul to 70s rock to 80s dance to 90s grunge to dirty south rap and old school hip hop -- and they did not fail to impress and take it to the NEXT LEVEL. I felt like the reception somehow turned into a rave towards the end. It was surreal. I cannot tell you how much I recommend this band for any event or wedding. They were super easy to work with. The band members are so great and down to earth and fun to kick with. We hope to hire them again for another event we are planning. THANK YOU G.O.T. GROOVE FOR MAKING THIS DAY UNFORGETTABLE!
