Food was good but was cold. There were warmers in the kitchen that didn’t seem to get used. The staff was not friendly and complained about everything. They had a large kitchen to...
work with, which most venues don’t have a caterer friendly kitchen at all, but complained about the prep space. Not sure what else we could’ve done. I wish we found a new caterer with a better attitude. Our venue burnt down a month prior and I felt like as a catering company, they should be used to different locations. Apparently not. Only like catering to Bluegrass Wedding Barn, which burnt down. I paid an extra $600 for servers at my wedding and they were supposed to cut my 3 sheet cakes with different. When I arrived the morning after the wedding, I found a whole cake uncut that was on our menu. A whole flavor did not get served.
Sara was so helpful with any questions we had about the food and menu. The tasting we had before the wedding was very good and she accommodated to the dietary restrictions for our ...
guests. She and her team were very nice and made sure no one left hungry on our big day! Definitely get the scalloped potatoes and yeast rolls!
Gourmet Goodies did an AMAZING job! We just got married on 6/1/24 and had them cater all food/desserts/cake. They were so kind at our tasting and all questions along with the plann...
ing process. The food was outstanding! It was hard to pick items because everything tasted so good. The food at our wedding was right on time and everyone really enjoyed their meals! They were able to travel to our venue inside of Red River Gorge as well. If you are looking for good southern comfort food for any event, then look no further! Thank you so much for being a part of our big day
We used Gourmet Goodies for our wedding and it they definitely made it more than perfect for us. Thelma and her team were so considerate of listening to what we wanted for apps and...
entree. We appreciated the transparency they provided us and there were no surprises. The staff was amazing the night of the wedding and things went off without any hiccups. Even our guest went out of their way to tell us how great the food was and how well it went with our rustic theme wedding. I would definitely recommend using Gourmet Goodies for future events!
We used Gourmet Goodies for our wedding and I can not say enough good things about Thelma and her staff. From signing the contract to the end of the wedding everything was perfect...
. She was so easy to work with and did exactly what we wanted. The pricing was great for all that was included. The day of the wedding her staff was top notch. They were so friendly and polite with all of my guest. I will definitely use her in the future and I will recommend her to others for sure.
I deinitely challenged Thelma and the chef (I believe his name was Bill --?). They did their first all-vegan wedding for my wedding. And it was good! My main complaints were the da...
ys before the wedding.
To begin, at our first meeting, Thelma, like EVERY other caterer I had met with, argued w/ me & tried to "convince" me to use animal flesh & secretions in my wedding food -- that wasn't going to happen. When I told her to stop asking, she finally ceded & didn't bring it up again. Meeting w/ the chef set me at ease. He's a super nice and talented. He even said he'd make me something special.
But after signing the contract & up to the wedding was not great. I would email a question, & I'd get some vague reply back. And we never did a tasting. Thelma also kept increasing the price. Yes, I understand that animal-free products can be a bit more expensive, but she knew this before the initial quote & I was already supplying many of the condiments. Plus, Thelma waited till the last minute to order things, which was stressful for me.
Thankfully, the chef was VERY competent. The vegan mac 'n cheese he made was excellent. The brussels sprouts were awesome. But, the item he made just for me was supposed to be a roasted heirloom tomato. When he served it to me, it was beautiful -- but raw! Thankfully, I love tomatoes, & it was still yummy-- but it wasn't as advertised. My other issue is that I had asked for less cantaloupe & more strawberries, grapes. Frustratingly, the latter were eaten up very quickly, & lots of cantaloupe remained. Also, during the wedding, Thelma approached me 2 times while eating & 2 times while talking to guests to ask me about serving the dessert. She should have asked BEFORE the wedding. I seriously wanted to tape her mouth shut so that I could relax.
Oh -- and the Gourmet Goodies crew did a great job cleaning up everything; they were all very friendly!
Overall, the food was very good.
The price was ok -- just under $2k for 48 adults, 5 kids, bus boy and tips.
But the communication wasn't great. If that would've been better, I'd give Gourmet Goodies 4.5 stars!
