Maria at Grace and Honey makes the best wedding cakes EVER! My husband's FAVORITE dessert is cake. This was the one factor about my wedding that he was extremely picky about. Grace and Honey was one of the preferred vendors for our venue, and boy did they not disappoint! We opted for a simple design, but the flavor of the cake was so incredible! Our guests could not stop talking about how moist and delicious the cake truly was! Overall our cake was beautiful, amazingly delicious, and a big hit at our wedding. Maria is truly amazing to work with and produces an incredible product! Thank you, Maria!

Grace and Honey will produce the wedding cake of your dreams, hands down. I’m a cake snob, having worked at bakeries since I was 20 I know my way around cake. I’ve been baking since I was child, so desserts was a TOP priority for me when I started planning our October Wedding. I didn’t want something overly sweet (the groom hates frosting) and I was looking for something unique. Originally I went into the cake tasting wanting cupcakes, a small cake, nothing grand. After the tasting of Almond Meli, J’adore Chocolate, Salted Caramel, and dulce de leche, my entire world was flipped. I ended up ordering a sheet cake of salted caramel and a 3-tier cake of almond meli. The design process was simple and Maria’s hand painted marbling on our middle tier was phenomenal handiwork. Maria was also the most welcoming baker when we went to tastings. She was happy, easy to work with, and gave us time to really think about our choices. Our guests raved about the mini oreo cheesecakes and the smores on a stick were a favorite for the groom. We can’t wait to reorder our cake in a year from her! Especially since everyone ate EVERYTHING so we weren’t even able to freeze a piece. haha

Maria is the absolute sweetest and we were so happy with how our wedding cake came out! Our hotel - The Hyatt Regency Newport Beach is partnered with Grace and Honey Cakes and we couldn't be happier! From the tasting to the entire process, Maria kindly told us about her business and gave excellent options and recommendations on sizing. Our wedding cake was a 4 tier cake for 164 people. We alternated between red posh (red velvet) and their coconut lime cake with passionfruit. I must say that we received so many compliments on how beautiful and also how delicious our cake was! The design was a simple buttercream with frosting in a simple ribbon style and topped with fresh flowers from our florist. It was gorgeous and even better than what we had envisioned! Having a wheat allergy made finding an affordable and beautiful wedding cake difficult. It was THE hardest part of the wedding. Most places either wouldn’t respond in a timely manner, they offered GF but didn’t make wedding cakes, or they were unable to deliver to my venue. I stumbled upon Grace and Honey Cakes and immediately this bakery was the opposite experience. I found the bakery online and looked at her work on G&HC social media and website. They were GF and did the style I wanted. I email with a photo for a quote and they promptly responded with information for a tasting. My husband and I headed over for a tasting and we’re pleasantly surprised at how big the cake size was for just a tasting. We were so excited to take leftovers home. The cake itself was incredibly moist and flavorful, something GF typically lacks. We couldn’t decide on a flavor so we chose two layers of salted caramel and one flavor of the white chocolate raspberry. We also rented a cake stand from them and the day of the wedding it showed up on time, exactly how we wanted it. I was worried that it would change because of the summer heat but it remained looking just as beautiful by the time we cut the cake. We were lucky enough to bring the top layer home and couldn’t stop eating it. Highly recommend Grace and Honey Cakes!

The perfect wedding cake For our wedding cake we had a vision to have a beautiful cake and a delicious cake. My wife sampled many vendors finding either the cake to be dry, frosting too sweet or the vendor not being able to meet our vision. When it came to grace and honey Maria supplies many cakes, and many frostings, was able to talk extensively about her craft and was able to match our vision for our wedding. Between her passion, knowledge and affordability we had to choose grace and honey. On the day of the wedding,​ she delivered a delicious three-tier semi-naked cake with two flavors that looked stunning. She also used flowers and greenery from our florist to decorate the cake as she saw fit will matching our wedding vision. She preferred to do that and that really showed us that she cares about the art of her cakes and is truly a professional. Overall the cakes were delicious and we received many compliments and we both want to go back to her storefront just to eat more!

Maria’s work speaks (and tastes) for itself! Our experience was great. The tasting appointment was fun, and everything we tasted was delicious. Not too sweet but packed with flavor. Our cake turned out beautiful and was exactly what we wanted. We used her for smaller desserts as well for our guests and everything was really great. We got a ton of compliments on the cake and on the desserts. Thanks Maria!

We can't speak highly enough of our experience with Maria for our December wedding at Casino San Clemente. We went with her j'adore flavor as it was so light and tasty, the raspberry preserve was so fresh. Maria was able to make our dream cake a reality the day of our wedding. The semi-naked style turned out perfect and the way she arranged the flowers on our cake was so perfect. The cake was a huge hit with our guests and such a beautiful focal point in our reception. I know small desserts are all the rage but there was something about Maria's three tier cake that felt so classic and perfect for our special day.

I got married on 9/2/17 and RooneyGirl BakeShop took care of all the desserts and the wedding cake. Maria is a true artist!! All of her cakes are her very own recipes, which is just incredible to me!! Usually wedding cake is not very good. Well I can tell you from experience, RooneyGirl's cakes are not only BEAUTIFUL, but DELICIOUS!!!! I mean her suagr flowers look like live flowers. It is just incredible to me that someone can do that!! When we went in for the cake tasting, she made mini-cakes for the tasting - not a little bite-sized slice, but a mini-cake!! It helped guide us to our decision and we got a real idea of what the real cake would be like. That was just her cake! All of her mini-desserts were equally as beautiful and delicious. You can tell Maria has a lot of pride in her work, and is passionate about it. Maria was so professional throughout the entire process and I knew I did not have to worry about how any of the desserts turned out - taste wise and presentation wise. Maria had it covered!!! Maria designed my perfect dream cake. Everything was perfect and on top of the aesthetics, it was the most delicious cake I've ever had. One of my must-haves was to have a super rich chocolate cake, and Maria totally delivered. I couldn't have been happier.

We hired Maria to bake cupcakes for our wedding this past weekend, and I am SO happy I did!! COMMUNICATION: 5/5. Maria always responded promptly via email or phone and was very helpful, never forgetting to address any of my questions. She was happy to look at my Pinterest board and talk about what I wanted the cupcakes to look like. TASTING: 5/5. She baked a dozen cupcakes for $30, which was refunded to me after I booked her for the wedding. She delivered them to me, so I was able to meet her and ask a few questions and talk about my vision for what they would look like. We got to try 3 flavors - we chose ciocolatta (amazing), j'adore raspberry (also very yummy), and salted caramel (turned out not to be my thing, though it was well-made). She did tactfully leave before we tried the cupcakes, as she acknowledged that it's easier to make an honest assessment without her hovering :) THE LOOK: 5/5. I can't wait to get back pictures from my photographer - I'll attach them to my Yelp review as soon as I do! She piped on the frosting in a rose swirl like I had asked for. She added complimentary sugar pearls and flowers, which were really pretty. Maria doesn't like to dye the frosting since that can affect the flavor (and her frosting is really light, delicate, and delicious), so I purchased cupcake wrappers from Amazon and had them shipped to her to complete the look. I also rented a beautiful white cupcake tower from her that her husband had built, and the cupcakes looked gorgeous on it. My florist put some flowers on top and in between the cupcakes, and I couldn't be happier with how it looked. In retrospect, I'm a little sad that I didn't get a spotlight for the cake table, but if that's one of my biggest wedding regrets, I'm pretty lucky! THE FINAL FLAVOR: 4.5/5. Lots of rave reviews! My fiance - oops, husband!! - is lactose-intolerant, so Maria was kind enough to make one dozen reduced-dairy ciocolatta cupcakes for us to eat (the Nutella still had a bit of lactose). It was so nice of her to make that special batch for us. I liked the cake but didn't like the flavor of the frosting as much. I hate to ding 0.5 for that because it's so tricky and I'm really grateful that she did this for us. The regular ciocolatta and j'adore raspberry were still excellent, but I discovered that my new favorite was banana foster - we had ordered it on a whim since we didn't try it during the tasting, and I am SO glad we did! In fact, I have now eaten 3 of them :X I am now sitting here sad and trying to figure out how to eat Maria's cupcakes again because she doesn't have a store where I can buy individual cupcakes :( I am SO grateful for her and have zero regrets about having Maria be part of our wedding!
