tic/natural make-up style and professionalism. Grace is super efficient with communication and made the scheduling flexible for us even with some last minute changes from our side. May is the senior artist who did my make up trial and bridal make up. She's very skilled and detail-oriented, yet efficient at her work to achieve the natural look I'm looking for within 2 hours. All artists were punctual on the day of wedding and easy to work with. Thank you Amy and Sarah who did a wonderful job for the bridal party! Although I'm sure yelpers can find other makeup artists in the area for cheaper, but remember that you are paying for the skills and experience from Grace's team... and I would not want anything less for an important event such as a wedding.

EMAILS/CORRESPONDENCE: I would not say that I am an easy bride to work with, but Grace was so patient with me. She answered all my emails quickly and with so much detail. She even reached out to my wedding planner on her own to check on schedule and timing! If you have been planning your wedding, you know you are usually answering a million emails, so this was AMAZING — she’s so proactive and organized in her work. She truly CARES about her clients. You won’t just be another number to her. My maid of honor had multiple friends who had their make up done with Grace, and Grace remembered all of them - down to the venue! Can you imagine anyone else who’s that dedicated to their clients? MAKEUP: I was gifted Grace’s bridal day make up by my maid of honor, but I decided to pay for a second trial to experiment with my look. My first look was very natural. I loved the way she made my skin look smooth and glowing. We did light and warm eye make up with natural lashes. I ended up having to postpone my wedding, and I decided I wanted to go with a more dramatic style since my wedding would be later in the day. Although the look I chose was not her typical style, she replicated it with ease. At the same time, she put her own touch on it. Sometimes you see a makeup artist’s work and every girl looks exactly the same. It seems almost like a mask. Grace will NOT do that to you! She didn’t just copy and paste some other girl’s look onto my face. She truly studied the image and pointed out what could work on my face, as well as what would be good substitutes. She worked with my face like a canvas, and she explained what she was doing every step of the way. Grace treats makeup as an art. She’ll make sure your natural features are accentuated while still enhancing and refining the ones you love the most. For me, I wanted soft glam eyes, without it looking like I was on my way to a Vegas club. Grace gave me the glamour while still keeping it softer and wedding appropriate. She listened to my requests to keep my brows, but at the same time she helped shape them to look more delicate. I truly wish my brows always looked this good hahah. HAIR: For my original look, I went with an updo. I thought it would help my face look smaller. However, Grace was HONEST with me! She explained that having my hair down would help shape my face. She showed me how she would create volume to make a slimming effect. The finished look was soft and romantic. If you think you can just curl yourself hair really quickly and get the same effect, I’m telling you that it benefits you to go for the full package because she makes sure that it complements each other. With Grace, every part of your make up and hair works together to create a complete look. If this review is super long, it’s because I really appreciate the kindness Grace showed towards me. She went out of her way to make me feel beautiful on my wedding day. I think I researched every single makeup artist from OC to LA and then back again. Save yourself the time and just choose Grace because there is truly no one better.

I opted for the bridal trial, where she spent three hours for my engagement shoot with two hairstyle changes and one bridal look. For the second engagement shoot, she was very flexible with the timing. My husband and I actually arrived at her studio at 5:30 am, and she was able to accommodate us. Even though we woke up incredibly early for our SF city hall shoot, my hair and makeup was impeccable all day. Also, she hid my dark circles, which was a miracle - I was so happy with how everything looked in the photos! On the day of the wedding, Grace made me feel like a princess- my hair and makeup held up all day, and I had so many compliments from everyone. Grace and her team did a wonderful job during my wedding, and made me, my mom, sister, and mother in law look absolutely fantastic. She even gave me a little makeup kit for touch ups, but I didn’t even need it- everything stayed in place until the end of the night. I definitely recommend her for your hair and makeup needs, as she is friendly and easy to talk to, as well as quick. Grace, thank you so much!

l for around four hours. Halle was very patient and cared a lot about what I want on my big day. Halle not only has the best makeup/hair style skills, but also very professional and has a very good personality which made our experience very pleasant. What impressed me most is not her excellent skills at makeup/hair stylish (she is certainly very good at it with no doubt) but her calmness when we found there may be no enough time for hair styling. After she created the basic structure of my hair, we felt it would be better to pull the hair more higher than we decided before. So Halle redid the hair which looked like a simple change but it turned out not very easy because the length of my hair. We were quite short in time but Halle was super calm and you can feel that she was very confident that she would finish it in time - turns out she did finish and did an amazing job! My hair style was so beautiful and stable. I was surprised how many clips she put on my hair when I took the clips out of my hair after the wedding. The makeup - I got so many compliments! I was worried that crying would mess up my makeup but Halle did an amazing job - I cried a lot during the party and I still looked gorgeous (hahahahahaha I sure do!) and the skin was flawless all the time. I feel so lucky to have Halle! You will need a makeup/hair stylist like her on your wedding day. She has all the best qualities - talented, creative, calm, and responsible. I would also recommend Olivia, who did the makeup/hair for my two moms and my husband. Olivia is so good! She didn't give my mom and mother-in-law the same makeup style - she did design different styles for them based on their looks. My two moms are so so so so beautiful on my wedding and I am so happy!!! My husband is satisfied with her as well because she did give him a very handsome look and gorgeous hair touch-up! We are grateful to have them in our wedding day and would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for makeup/hair stylist!

From the moment I spoke to her, I felt at ease knowing she is experienced, responds quickly to emails/texts and also provided detailed instructions on care and maintenance. I provided some inspirations that I researched online and Grace executed everything perfectly and provided alternative styles that I ended up loving even more. She chose colors that I loved and I ended up buying a few of those products afterwards so that I can use that as my go to from now on. Tiffany, Sarah and Cece did my bridesmaids hair and makeup which turned out great as well. Everyone loved their final look and it lasted the whole day. They worked quickly and are very talented which goes to show that you can trust Grace and her entire staff to do a great job. I had a wonderful experience and hope to be able to work with Grace and her team for special occasions in the future. You will not be disappointed if you hire Grace and her team!

o shoots. She understood when I asked for a nice and simple hair style. She did curls and braids. Jane nailed it on the natural look. I told Jane that my wedding and engagement pictures would be outdoors and the photographer specialized in light photographer, she knew just what to do. I don't wear much makeup on a daily basis so it was really helpful to be able to trust someone to take care of me. Maggie and Jane prepped me for my wedding day. Maggie handled the hair and Jane handled the makeup. Maggie made my Pinterest favorites a reality. I showed her a few pictures and she adjusted to what she thought would work best for me. My dress was a high neck dress so after hair and makeup, she even stayed behind to help me into my dress. Life saver! After helping me into my dress, she made sure my hair was perfect before she slipped away. Jane was worked her magic on me again and I couldn't be happier with the results. I had quite a struggle to get into my dress and Jane's makeup didn't even budge. It was amazing! And after 8+ hours, my makeup did not require touch up! All three ladies are amazing to work with, fun to talk to, on time and so, so talented. They made me feel and look beautiful for my big day and I cannot thank them enough.

what would be ideal for me and what I would wish to achieve for my wedding but she was based 30 miles away from Newport so I didn't do my trial with her and I totally regret it. Because I was confident after looking through all the photos from Yelp and her portfolio that she was the makeup and stylist for me, I booked her for my wedding without a trial and I was completely pleased with the result! Grace knew the look that matched my personality, features, and dress the best. My hair and makeup was absolutely gorgeous and natural. I felt like very comfortable and beautiful all day and all night. Even through the teary moments, the makeup lasted all day. I didn't even use the touch up kit she gave me except to reapply lipstick once! Jane and Olivia are also master artists. My moms and bridesmaids all looked beautiful and happy with their looks. Grace and her team are very good with enhancing our features. My last makeup artist told me she couldn't even out my eyes because one eyelid was not as double eyelid as the other. Grace used eyelid tape on that eye and balanced out my look without a hitch. She also trimmed my eyebrows to achieve a better look. I highly recommend her and her team!!! Most importantly, she made me and my family beautiful and very very happy.

ll and Jean worked on the 6 other women. My hair & makeup came out FLAWLESS and I had never felt more beautiful in my life. I got so many compliments on my look and I've already referred Grace to a friend (it's only been 2 weeks since my wedding). I also had Grace do my trial 2 months before the wedding and she created the perfect look for me. She recommended that I get highlights (I'm Taiwanese with all black hair) which I did, and that was the best decision. The highlights, though not usually noticeable with my hair down, really showed the texture in my hair and made all the difference on the wedding day. Grace knows how to capture "my look" - as in, I wanted to be elegant and beautiful but not too fobby or too sexy. But at the same time, if that's the look you're going for, she can create those for you too. Grace also came back to my wedding reception that night to do my 2nd look. I changed into a second dress and she touched up my makeup and did a different hairstyle within 30 minutes. That was amazing! I'm so glad I hired Grace for the most important day of my life and I would recommend her to anyone needing hair & makeup service!

Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to have her as my artist, but May (my make up artist) and Maggie (hair stylist) were beyond amazing! they were the sweetest and very easy to work with. I showed them pictures of what I wanted for my make up and hair and they did it really well and much better than the photos and made sure it really looks good with me. Since we had a big party, other artists assigned to my mom and mom-in law were benson and nora, who also did a good job. and for my bridesmaids May and Maggie also helped them and they were very happy with the result. Also, they were on time with their schedule considering my wedding was all the way to OC and they all have to come at around 7am as we had a very big party. Thank you Grace, May, Maggie, Benson and Nora. You guys are all great!:)

he could tell I was a bit indecisive. I was so happy that she did because it made me feel more secure with my final look. Before my bridal makeup trial I had Grace and Maggie for my engagement hair and makeup. Grace did an excellent job on my makeup- it looked so natural and better than I could have ever imagined! Maggie was great, I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she was able to replicate it perfectly! I was really surprised because I have thin hair. Also, Grace was so nice- she even upgraded me to an airbrush. In sum, I am so impressed with their customer service and hair/makeup skills.

wedding day. All I looked up was for someone that did Asian Makeup and was near the venue (in Pasadena). Grace Lin was the first person to appear. I arranged a consultation meeting and right from the start I knew she would take care of me. I brought a few pictures and she was able to determine what would be best with the shape of my face and offered suggestions that worked with what I had envisioned. I had a makeup trial with her senior artist, Vivi, and was very happy with the results. On the day of the wedding, Vivi came ahead of schedule and took care of me and my maid of honor. I'm self conscious when it comes to my looks, but Vivi did a fantastic job that I felt confident all day and everyone complimented my looks. My maid of honor checked on my makeup periodically and she didn't have to re-apply or change anything. I got a few pics from the wedding and my makeup looks awesome. Thank you Grace and Vivi!

emails promptly and courteously - even during her honeymoon! I was very impressed by that. My trial session was back in February with Halle & Maggie. They were both very easy to talk to and open for ideas. I had them work on my hair & makeup as well as the mothers'. We were all very satisfied. Grace sent Vivi and Cece for my bridesmaids' hair & makeup. Cece was very good at making them beautiful hair styles and reshaped the hair as soon as my bridesmaids' found it getting loose. On the other hand, Vivi did a good job on my bridesmaids' makeup, but some details were neglected possibly due to the rush. For instance, the eyelash kept dropping. I was also very grateful that Grace tried very hard to accommodate my last minute request and had successfully arranged Halle to work on my flower girls. Overall, I was very happy with the artists' work. Would definitely recommend them to others.

ed my look. Maggie did my hair and during our trial she nailed what I wanted. When it came to the wedding my hair did not turn out the way I wanted. I think it was a miscommunication on Grace's side. She forgot to inform Maggie I was using hair extensions and because Maggie was late, Halle rolled my natural hair. When Maggie showed up she seemed confused that I wanted extensions in my hair. Told her I sent Grace an email. My natural hair maintained it's curled throughout the night but the extensions did not. I think it's because it was not rolled like my natural hair. Had Maggie not have been late I think my hair would have been just like I envisioned. Overall I still felt beautiful!

also did the trial on the day I had my engagement photos taken. She is very good at Asian makeup, and she can make it look natural, or very dramatic. She also takes feedback very well, and we worked out some concerns I had.

ce for her wedding and LOVED IT, so I decided to use them when I flew back home for my brother's wedding and squeezed in an engagement. Grace did an amazing job on my engagement session, so I decided to book her company for my wedding. Grace wasn't available for my wedding date, so she referred me to Jen Tsui. I was hesitant at first, but Grace reassured me that all of her staff were well trained in her style. She was right!! Jen was so friendly, very personal, and super skillful!! She did such a great job that everyone complimented me, saying I looked really pretty yet really natural. I highly recommend both Grace and Jen for your engagement, wedding, or any other events!!

I chose the package that includes a trial makeup, loaner accessories and day of wedding makeup for myself only. My makeup artist was Irene Sit as Grace Lin was not available. Grace was the contact person for question, schedule, and payment though. Grace is great. She responded my emails within 24 hours and was always very courteous. Irene was great too. When I went for trial makeup, I had no idea what I wanted my makeup or hair style to me. I saw Irene's works before (Grace sent to me prior to me deciding to go with Irene) so I was confident with her work. I asked Irene to just design my look for me and she did. I like the hair style and make-up she did on trial session. My hair wasn't long enough so she gave me hair extension. After that trial, I knew that I didn't have to worry about my makeup on my big day and was really glad that I went with her. I got my wedding dress 2 weeks before the wedding. So I took a picture of it and sent it too Irene for her to prepare the loaner accessories. I didn't ask her to show me what kind of accessories she would bring over. One I was too swamped at that time, two I really wasn't worried about that at all. On my big day, Irene arrived earlier to prepare. After makeup, she helped me wear my nu bra, my wedding dress, and my veil. My veil doesn't have a small comb attached to the veil like most other veils have. It was intended to be that way so that I can adjust the style. Irene was able to help me put it on and hold them with hair pin. I love the style of the veil after she put it on my hair. The loaner accessories (necklace & earrings) she brought over matched my dress perfectly. They looked elegant; they looked expensive. I LOVE my look on my wedding day A LOT! My makeup, my dress, my veil, my necklace and earrings. I looked gorgeous on that day. I have to say the necklace and earrings really complement my dress very well. Once Irene put on the necklace, we both felt the 'wow' effect. I received SO MANY sincere compliments on my makeup that day. Grace Lin Makeup was my best vendor on my wedding day. I was stress free since the first day I decided to go with them till the day of my wedding. Good service and high quality of work. I think their price is very reasonable, although there might be other makeup artists who charged lower. Trust me, it's worth every of your penny. That's the most important day of your life. When will you ever spend money to get professional makeup done again? You want to look the best on your wedding day. It's your day so it's worth to spend the money on yourself. You save money on buying accessories and getting makeup done on your engagement shot (I scheduled the trial makeup on the day of my engagement shot). I highly recommend Irene/Grace and I have referred them to a lot of my girlfriends already.

Kristie contacted me a few days before my wedding to confirm everything and if i had any changes I want to make to my hair and make up. The day of the wedding, she arrived at 615am to set up. My ceremony was at 11am and she got done in such a timely manner. Everyone absolutely loved my hair and make up as did i. I look forward to requesting for Kristie for future special engagements

I have very thick and long hair. It took her 3 hours to style it, but it did not turn out the way I wanted. On our wedding day, Irene did my makeup and my mother's hair and makeup. Grace sent Felina to do the hair and makeup for my bridesmaid, even though in all earlier correspondence, she said she would be sending someone named Lisa. Felina was a great disappointment. Her makeup skills were satisfactory, but her skills with regard to hairstyling is very amateur. After she completed the maid of honor's hair, it was messy looking and not what we had requested. She attempted to fix it, but without great result. My stylist had to undo all of the curls and redo the entire hairstyle. We didn't have time to redo the 2nd bridesmaid hairstyle so we left it as is. An hour into the tea ceremony, her hair started falling apart. I was greatly disappointed with her work. Irene's makeup skills are very good. I received a lot of compliments regarding my makeup that day. I think perhaps her hair styling skills would work better if my hair wasn't so thick. She is very friendly and kind.
