Grace Wedding Venue & Event Center

Grace Events is a lovingly restored historic venue nestled in the heart of downtown Portland, where centuries of history set the stage for unforgettable celebrations. Originally built as Chestnut Street Methodist Church in 1856–57 and designed by renowned architect Charles Alexander, Grace remains one of the city’s few surviving examples of Gothic Revival architecture, having withstood the Great Fire of 1866. Its enduring beauty and craftsmanship tell a story of resilience, reverence, and romance. Over time, Grace has transformed—from sacred gathering place, to restaurant, to a cherished wedding and events venue. Now entering a brand new phase under the stewardship of new owner the Tanner Herget of Herget Hospitality Group, Grace is guided by the return of longtime Events Director Meghan Johansmeier. Having led events here from 2013 to 2022, Meghan brings a deep familiarity and heartfelt devotion to the space. Together, they envision Grace as a venue where historic charm, fine details, and exceptional service come together seamlessly.
