Glenn with Grand Band Entertainment handled our ceremony music (DJ) and booked our reception band for us. He is awesome! I was very specific on the music for the ceremony as this was the most important part of the event. I wanted the music to set the tone for the occasion. He had everything down exactly as I had asked. Love it! He sent us several videos of bands for the reception. It got a little overwhelming because after a while they all start to sound the same. He could tell I was a little overwhelmed and asked me questions to see what my preferences were, what I wanted out of the wedding band, and what I didn't. He suggested the band due to our preferences and our budget. I trusted his opinion, and I am very glad that I did. They were awesome!!! We had so much fun! It was nice to have one person handle both aspects (ceremony and reception) of the music. I highly recommend him.
Beware. This company requested 100% payment 10 days prior to the event, claiming they have a long resume of acclaimed customers, all of which have been pleased with their services. Understandably, I was hesitant but they offered the lowest rate and I thought "how hard could it be to just click play on an iTunes playlist?" Apparently it can be WAY too hard. The original DJ I contracted with sent his back-up. Though we spent hours creating a playlist of music that we felt represented us as a couple and offered to provide the digital files, the DJ played whatever music he wanted -- including some very distasteful choices. We picked out a song for our reception entrance but the DJ could not locate it on his computer, so we entered to silence. Awkward. He later announced, "this is the song I was supposed to play for their entrance" before playing Queen's "Best Friend" which we selected. Our first dance and father/daughter dance songs were somehow "lost on the computer" so my husband had to take time out of his own wedding reception to pull the songs up on his phone and hunt down a cord to hook up to the DJ's computer. We did not have our first dance until the last hour of the reception because there was so much scrambling to try to figure out how to play it. Remember, we hand picked all of our music, provided a playlist, and offered to send all of the digital sound files, but were assured it was not necessary and that he was able to download them himself. Needless to say, the whole event was an embarrassment... On the most important day of my life at that. But here's the worst part: when my husband and I reached out to this company after our honeymoon to express our disappointment, the DJ basically told us that "these things happen" and patronized us by saying "if this is the biggest problem you'll face in life, you will be quite
lucky." He took no ownership of the dismal situation, offered no solution, and insisted that our payment of $300 resulted in no profit to him and that we should be happy at the low rate he gave us. Call me crazy, but there is no way it costs $300 to bumble through iTunes for 3 hours completely unprepared... I would not pay $5 for the service (or lack thereof) provided. Please think twice before even considering this company. Your day should be everything you want and more. This company did a miserable job and treated my husband and I with utter disrespect.
