A wedding favorite, the Mackinaw Ballroom, is a carpeted, 4,889 square-foot space with a beautiful courtyard, featuring a sea gull fountain sculpture, commissioned by artist Marshall M. Fredericks . Located in downtown Grand Haven, it is only steps away from Lake Michigan and directly across from beautiful Central Park, featuring an amazing water fountain and gorgeous seasonal flowers.
The Mackinaw can accommodate up to 240 wedding guests and has become a popular site for wedding receptions because of its elegant surroundings and affordable pricing.
The atrium and gallery areas can also be rented along with the ballroom for an additional fee of $50 each.
Our spacious, fully-equipped catering kitchen is a highlight for caterers. We allow our guests to select their own caterer, we require that they are licensed/insured. We do not require the use of preferred vendors, which is a great cost savings.
A newly added outdoor patio is accessible to the ballroom and will be completed in the fall of 2020.

A while back I attended a beautiful winter wedding at the Grand Haven Community Center. The venue provided ample space for elegant decorations and a centrally located dance floor....
The restrooms were very clean and the lobby area provided plenty of space for coats and another area that was great for photography. Free parking was available nearby. I would definitely recommend this venue!

to read their policies carefully and verify with their office the list of vendors you would like to use before hiring them or you'll be left answering confusing phone calls from a bartending service about how they were interrogated by community center office staff and told they could not allow them to work in the venue. We had so many last minute 'you can't do that's that I was left with my hands in the air. Thankfully I had a great team of family members to deal with the changes needed.
Besides their communication and interaction with me and my vendors, the venue is great. The ballroom was gigantic and tasteful. Restrooms were pristine. Parking was excellent.
