ace; you really feel like you're in your own world there. Not only is it gorgeous but the staff are wonderful to work with too!!! We had a day of coordinator, Debbie, who made the day run so smoothly and all the staff we interacted with before and during the wedding were so wonderful. We also thought they were super affordable for everything you get; especially compared to other places we looked at! They are a one stop shop for ceremony/reception/catering and cake if you want it all! It was so nice for us to have that all wrapped in one and not have to worry about so many different vendors. The food and cake were delicious too! All of my guests loved being there and many kept asking how I found such a gem! Many thanks to all the staff at Grand Island Mansion for hosting our perfect day!

and it helps that the GIM likes for people to go explore their beautiful grounds including the mansion itself. We used the Marquee tent and at night, the lights turn on creating a romanic environment and we also got to stay in the mansion and yacht. They provide pizza and drinks afterwards for the guest staying. The bartender/security was such a great guy. It was all a fantastic experience.

eryone raved about the food, cake, and venue! The architecture of this venue is why I booked it. I LOVE the Italian Renaissance style and this has the decor everywhere! The architect must have been touched by heaven when he designed this place, over 100 years ago!!! The wedding coordinators were amazing and very easy to talk to. If you are booking in the Sacramento Area look no further, this is as good as it gets if you enjoy the classical romantic style. Trust me...I did my research! P.S.~If you book, do listen to them and go with the preferred vendors. You want vendors that know the GIM very well!

nd take advantage of the entire experience. I loved that we could play music until midnight and were able to have some of our closest wedding party for an after-party in the bar area until midnight. The place is gorgeous so you don't need many decorations. They also allowed my service animals to stay with me. My only problem was that the mansion isn't open early enough prior to the wedding ceremony that we could have gotten ready at the mansion. With a hectic wedding schedule, it would be nice if we could have come in around 1pm instead of nearly 4:30pm with a wedding ceremony at 5:45pm. It was very rushed and I understand the mansion has a lot of events, but I would recommend management to have a bit more "pre-time." Overall, it is a well-kept gorgeous venue that is a bit in the middle of nowhere, and that's what makes it a gem. The management is responsive but i HIGHLY recommend a day-of coordinator in the least to help with the wedding (the event coordinator doesn't really do much in terms of moving the wedding forward). The people are lovely, especially the staff that works there on the bartending and waitressing side and I will continue supporting this venue for years to come. I'm a pleased and happy bride.

hey understand that it is your one special day. I am super organized and the mansion staff kept up with me the entire time. It must come with the experience they have. We had the mansion cater our food and also make our cake! All of our wedding guests cannot stop talking about the beautiful mansion, our elegant all buttercream cake, and the amazing food! We love this place so much we'll be back for their Sunday brunches. I have public photos on FB :)

On the day of, the venue coordinator and mine met and if anything was going south, I wouldn't know because I didn't hear about it. Just the venue makes your wedding beautiful and when you add any little thing, your wedding goes from beautiful to gorgeous, if that's possible! The nice customer service is just the cherry on top. Suggestions: Summer wedding: Have it in the evening and use the courtyard. The delta breeze made my veil and the ribbon on the aisle chairs and bouquets flow so beautifully. If reception is inside, the white tablecloths are the way to go because the venue is already so ornate. Also, I wouldn't use the chargers. the tables are just not big enough and it looks cleaner without them. Play up your napkins, flatware, and menu/thank you card. If you have to go with the buffet and the food room is not to your liking, don't worry about it! People just want to eat and I didn't even go in their on the day of.

Make sure you stay in the rooms on the third and fourth floors after the wedding because they are wonderful. People were blown away with this place. We actually had our wedding on a Thursday here to save a TON of money and it was amazing!

ient, there has to be a better way And after my wedding a couple of cards (5-6) came up missing, they need to have someone monitoring the foyer at all times where the entrance is..guests/ staff workers coming in & out, also the weddings are held back to back the wedding coming down the stairs from staying all night drinking at 10am while your trying set up if u have a 11am wedding & after they have a wedding coming in at 430pm for a 6pm wedding. Again, hence the need for better security maybe even cameras in the foyer! All in all everyone & especially Rick were very helpful with it! Just a small issue which didn't really touch an otherwise Amazing day!!! It was an great day at the mansion, perfect weather one I will never forget!!! Thank You so much!! Michelle & Adam

edding activity (i.e. ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, dancing, after party, etc.) would be held in a different location on the Mansion’s property inside of in one stuffy ballroom all night. The staff was so friendly and the coordinators are easy to work with. They do not charge you for every little thing and when they do charge you for something you are not overcharged. The food is to die for. Every single one of our 100 guests said the food was amazing. It was the wedding of our dreams!

was definitely luck that they had an opening. They usually book a year out! They also gave us a reduced rate for the ceremony and a free cake because we took the cancellation. They were very good about accomodating our requests and returning our phone calls with questions! Our guests loved the venue and the food was very good. They brought me and my husband plates of food so we didn't have to worry about getting food. My only complaint was that there was a wedding the next morning so it was a little odd to be taking our stuff out in our sweats while everyone was dressed up for a wedding. Think it was worse for the people having their wedding the next day than for us! They did warn us that they book weddings back to back like that so we were aware, but it is still awkward!

he cake, we gave the baker our flowers day of, and in minutes she added our flowers to the cake so beautifully! Best yet, the staff at Grand Island made sure that my husband and I actually ate at our wedding. They SERVED US and had our plates waiting for us. They even offered to make a "doggy bag" to go so that we could eat after the wedding.

took care of the catering, cake (which, by the way, is the best cake I've ever had at a wedding), set-up, clean-up, and getting ready on site was a joy. The only (minor) complaint I had was that since we had a wedding early in the morning/afternoon (service was at 10:30, reception ended at 1), the people who were having their wedding there that evening were in and out of our reception telling their vendors where they wanted things set up. However, we were told that the mansion would be open to the public for a brunch reception so it's to be expected. If we had a bigger budget, we would have have rented the mansion the night before and hosted our friends and family. Perhaps for our anniversary! Thanks Grand Island Manor.

If you have a free Sunday morning check out their Sunday Brunch! They have amazing food and you can walk around and tour the mansion at your own pace. :) We got many compliments on our venue choice from out guests saying it was very unique and fun!

rented there entire place so we partied all night they even served us pizza and later in the night when our guest were hungry again they served us cold cuts. It was a great experiance. In comparison to other wedding venues my hubby and I visited, the Grand Island Mansion was kind, informative, and listened closely from the beginning. We knew that if we booked with such an organized business that our big day would most likely go off flawless. From start to finish, the Grand Island Mansion performed above and beyond our expectations. My day-of coordinator was Debbie and she was amazing to work with while planning the wedding and during the celebration. While planning the wedding, she or Brenda responded to all my emails in less than 24 hours. They were so willing to accomodate any special requests that me and my hubby had. We found that if we asked for a special request, we were likely to have it granted. They provided every opportunity for us to make our dream wedding come true. The grounds, interior and exterior of the Grand Island Mansion are gorgeous and maintained to perfection. We had our ceremony under the shaded gazebo, used both dining rooms for dinner, partied in the ball room for the reception, and rented the overnight rooms for our wedding after party. Our guests loved that the wedding flowed from one room to the next and that there were always new and beautiful surroundings to enjoy. The service team was pleasant and moved the event along timely. We received numerous compliments from our guests on the various choices and delicious taste of the food. We chose the 'Light Summer Fare Buffet', which I highly recommend due to the multiple options that it includes at a reasonable price. The overnight rooms are clean and decorated wonderfully. I woke up in the morning with birds chirping and the soft delta sun shining through the upstairs balcony. The rooms on the second floor have a bed and breakfast feel. We booked the entire block of overnight rooms for a grand total of $2,000 that slept 13 couples. The beds were comfortable and most people had private bathrooms. The overnight host was loved by all the overnight guests - he kept the party going and served drinks like they were going out of style. He stayed up until the last people went to bed around 5 AM. Everyone really enjoyed his fun spirit and witty sense of humor. He was performed perfectly. I do not live in the Sacramento area and generally speaking Sacramento isn't a destination area like the central coast or wine country. Many of our guests were from out of state and they continued to ask why we chose the Sacramento area to get married. Our answer would always be "Just wait until you see the venue we chose." And the venue didn't let us or our guests down as it offered everything and more to make our special day the best ever. I HIGLY recommend, without a doubt, the Grand Island Mansion to host your next big event.

and extremely beautiful. We got many wonderful pictures ranging from the outside landscape to the inside dinning area. Our ceremony was outside and so comfortable. Many of our guests said this was the best wedding they had ever been to. We love this place and the staff!;Just make sure your photographer has been to this location before so they can really utilize it's beauty so you can get your ultimate use out of your photographer
