Our wedding and reception was everything that I had imagined. Carol Sukow, our wedding planner, was great! The chapel was beautiful, and the reception in The Chapel overlook was just right. The whole event was timed perfectly with the sunset and provided some amazing photos. I highly recommend them for your wedding!

We got married at the Grand Wailea 3 weeks ago and it was AMAZING! Our wedding planner, Emily, was the best. The grounds there are phenomenal and our pictures look like they should be in a magazine. We will definitely be back to celebrate our anniversary.

It was such a treat for us to visit Maui for our honeymoon, and our stay at the Grand Wailea was absolutely perfect. The grounds, the beaches, the restaurants, the customer service- it was all top notch and we couldn't have asked for anything more during this once-in-a-lifetime style of vacation. Thank You!!

We rented a house in Maui, but stayed our wedding night here, breathtaking! The views are great, the staff was friendly, and the pools are awesome, it's like water park, but not crowded. You must stay here at least once!

I don't usually like massive resorts, but this place is remarkable. Food: excellent, service: excellent, accommodations: superb, location: priceless. While it is a very family-friendly destination, this resort has more than enough room for a honeymooning couple to relax and enjoy. If you want to be completely isolated on your honeymoon, this is not the place for you. But if you enjoy having access to a half dozen pools, spas, water slides, a swim up bar, poolside service, yoga classes, free scuba lessons, fine dining, and a sparkling white sand beach right in front if you, then check out the Grand Wailea in Maui.

Our wedding luau was held at the Grand Wailea aka, Waldorf Astoria. The luau was wonderful; well,at least the show was. The service was dreadful, and the young man that works as a valet was horribly rude. when I told him that I parked my car myself he told me "if you ever come here again, don't do that. It isn't allowed. Got it?" He is lucky I didn't smack him.

We chose to go with the photographer that was on property at the Grand Wailea. Ricky Mia Photography. I am so glad we did!!! Our pictures turned out amazing!!!!!!!!! David was our photographer for the day and he is so talented! He not only got the staged pictures we wanted but he captured the tender moments as well. When I got my pictures back I was so happy with them. Angie was with him all day and helped us carry props, touched up my makeup for me etc... They are wonderful!!!! I would recommend them to everyone!!!!

The rooms are disgusting, several of my guests including myself weren't sure if room service had happened or not, I myself called to housekeeping to be told our room had already been cleaned. Really??? the cups are still filthy, there's no clean towels, nothing has been touched except for the bed which had been made. Making a bed does not equal room service.
The hotel is totally out of date and needs a face lift. for whatever reason probably due to what Steve M mentioned there is basically a huge influx of white trash (i'm gon get my coors light and meet you in the lobby, jaime lynnn, jaime lynnn I got a bottle of Zin in the room). Screaming kids everywhere. Terrible service in every restaurant.
The rooms are difficult to find and don't bother to ask anyone where your room is, it'd be like asking them to speak Japanese, actually no Japanese would be easier. They look at you as if you want them to proof einsteins theory of relativity.
" I don't know where your room is"
me: " I'm sorry you don't work here."
" ya but I don't know"
ridiculous
I actually demanded to speak to the operations manager, also due a lot of things that had gone on wedding related. to which instead of comping us a few breakfast for all the things that had gone on, she offered to change our suite, this is 5 days in our stay and which we only have 2 left. No I don't want to change rooms 5 days after I've been here. Especially when the reason I wanted bigger suite originally was because I wanted room for my helpers to get me ready and for my husband to have space for his groomsmen. Not now.
So frustrating.
This hotel is large and the grounds are beautiful and obviously the ocean is beautiful but its very outdated. I absolutely cannot believe the room I'm sitting in a deluxe ocean suite. If I paying regular price for this hotel I would have had a conniption fit. All the furniture in this room is outdated, its small, and the lighting is terrible. The molding on the floors in all rooms ( I went to several of my guests room to hang out) is all rotting. The only solace in this room is that it actually looks at the ocean. There are a ton of rooms in this hotel with no view whatsoever, like the view is a tree or its in front of the water slides and rocks. Supposedly all the rooms have the same layout but they just have different views, which is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
There's water slides and a grotto bar (swim up bar with no access from outside) and rivers and rocks and waterfalls and blah blah blah but the rooms and halls need a major face lift.
The Four Seasons on the other hand is totally up to date, chic, posh, and sophisticated. Its more adult, while GW is geared more towards families and kids. Kinda like a Disneyland. I'm not feelin it.

First off, the venue is beautiful! We were married on the lawn by the chapel and it was a lovely day. Our wedding was a destination wedding.
The coordinator was helpful and made sure everything was taken care of. She arranged everything from the big items to the little details of the day. She helped directed all the guests (there were 40). They were flexible and easy to make last minute details once we got to the island. Because of her the whole wedding day was relaxing and special.
The package is GREAT with a lot of hotel credit for the Spa, Salon and even Breakfast the next morning. We had champagne, chocolate covered strawberries and an amazing view/hotel room the night of the wedding.
All, I can say is if you are planning a destination wedding use The Grand Wailea!

No doubt hands down best day ever. We were treated like the King and Queen. Before the wedding, we'd never been to Maui. Our planner was most accommodating. She made the remote planning process so easy, and she made the day stress-free. We are so thrilled with this decision, and all of our guests were so happy that we picked the spot.
The beauty of the ground and the seaside chapel was beyond words (you can see it in the video here http://vivacova.com/Blog/2012/03/tom-cher-got-mauid/).

We stayed at the Grand for our wedding night and the next night! It was so amazing!!! They let me have an early check in so that I could get ready there. that night we got "turn down" service with chocolates on the pillows with rose petals all over the bed and a bath with rose petals in it and 2 towels made into swans kissing next to the tub! Amazing!!!! Worth every penny!

I absolutely love this resort. It is magnificent. However, be ware of all the extra unexpected cost. I think if money is no object, then this place is the answer. However, if you are looking for something more reasonable, I would say explore another venue.

We attended a family wedding at the Grand Wailea recently and it was an incredible disappointment! Weeks would go by without a return phone call from our wedding coordinator. Our emails were ignored. NO customer service at all. When we requested that Gail, the Director of Weddings contact us, we were told she was “off island” and could not be reached. No one, including Mr. Bailey, the Resort Manager, ever returned our phone calls.
Debbie, the "Senior Catering Manager" coordinated the wedding day and reception. She was disorganized and emotionally stressed from day one. After the ceremony, the guests were invited to the cocktail hour for appetizers and drinks. The beautiful Boterro Bar was empty! The coordinator completely forgot to set up the cocktail reception! No décor, no staff to attend to the guests for over an hour! If you are planning a special event or a once in a lifetime wedding, go to the Four Seasons or another 5 star resort in Wailea.

WOW!!! What a great place for our Honeymoon. We had the most amazing time staying here!!! My husband and I talk about going back in a few years. Very expensive, but defintely worth every penny!!! Food was great, amazing pools, staff was freindly. We even stayed in the hotel while "just go with it" starring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston was filmed. It was pretty cool. The cast and crew did get in the way a bit...but our overall experience was still memorable and AMAZING!!!

The Grand Wailea is a great location for a truly elegant wedding. The picturesque views are superb for wedding photos. The resort lies on Wailea Beach which is the most maintained/groomed beaches in Maui. The resort has a chapel for those who would like an initimate church wedding. They also have a club within the resort - Tsunami which is available for private rental. This is definitely a plus as there is an outdoor curfew of 10pm in Maui and an afterparty is necessary for those who would like to party past ten.

Above anywhere and anything the Grand Wailea was the top! We had a 50 top rehearsal dinner at Humu that will become legend among our guest in food, drink and location. We also had all our guests stay at the resort, they could not stop talking about the pools, watersides, fun tropical drinks (good value in the pineapple) and beauty of the resort!
