Grandview Experience Lodge

The venue and view are gorgeous. I definitely recommend Grandview Lodge for it's location, amenities, and the fact there were on site suites for the couple and family to use. However, there are a few things I wish we had been aware of. 1) The site is on a gated property, so be aware that anyone attending your event will need the gate code (so that the bride doesn't have to spend all morning fielding calls/messages about how to get in while she is getting ready). 2) The owners live on-site, as do their pets. Unfortunately, even though we requested that the dogs be put somewhere during set-up, event, and tear down, we continually had to remove them from the event space (my mother nearly tripped over one while helping clean up afterwards 😢), and they kept the bridal party up at night with their barking and scratching on the walls. Also, if you plan to take photos outdoors, be mindful of the dog poop. 3) As of the date of our wedding (end of July 2022), the space is literally just a wedding LOCATION. They did not arrange/move any of the furniture, iron the table linens, etc, even though we had discussed furniture arrangements and linens being used when we originally visited the site.The bridal party and family had to do all of that. 4) The venue can reasonably hold about 50-60 people. When we first visited, we were told they could accommodate up to 100 for an indoor wedding and reception, but there was not enough seating or tables for that many people if you want any space for your catering or dance floor. Overall, we had a wonderful wedding and can't wait to get the photos back from our photographer. Just be sure you are well aware of what you are getting when you book and ask for clarification on anything you aren't sure about.
