I highly recommend Great Caterers of Iowa. Joni was very on top of it and made sure everything was perfect. Food was amazing and so many left overs.

We used Great Caterers for our wedding and had SO many of our guests say how amazing the food was! The entire GC team was very communicative and organized, from scheduling our tasting to coordinating arrival and set up for dinner on our big day. They have lots of menu options (including nut-free pesto pasta, which was a hit!) and can do parties of any size, from our 185 person wedding to feeding all 260+ members of the Hawkeye Marching Band, the Spirit Squad, and Iowa Dance Team! We used GCOI on 11/19/22 and only have AMAZING things to say about Joni and her team. She was great with communication from the tasting to the big day itself. The food was SO good. Get the brisket. It was the highlight of our guests' night. Highly recommend.

We used GCOI on our wedding on 9-17-22, and they did a phenomenal job! For background, our wedding was on our family farm without access to a large, industrial kitchen. They provided a high-end, upscale meal for our wedding vendors and guests despite building our venue from the ground up! Everyone raved about how delicious the food was. We had passed appetizers during our cocktail hour including custom charcuterie cones, honey and goat cheese lavash, Swedish meatballs, and stuffed mushrooms (my absolute favorite)! For dinner, we chose the option of a split plate so everyone was able to get both tri-tip + chicken! We had people say it was the best wedding food they have ever had. Additionally, Joni added on coffee for after dinner and infused fruit waters. The catering staff was top-notch, and they even gifted us a bottle of wine (which made us tear up a little bit)! Joni and her team are truly incredible. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Oh my gosh! The mac and cheese!!! And mushrooms. And orange chicken. Everything was wonderful! We did food stations with several different types of food. They exceeded my expectations and everything was wonderful!

The food was the best we have had at a wedding. They are knowledgeable and punctual. We did have some miscommunication on what we expected of service with COVID, so I would just be sure you go over those details no matter what for any wedding or caterer. Seriously - the food was so good and very reasonable! They do a great job accommodating food allergies and needs as well.

Joni catered our wedding of 150 people just last week. Her food was amazing! We received so many compliments. To top it off, she is incredibly affordable, easy to get ahold of and so personable! My husband and I highly recommend her!

My wife and I utilized Great Caterers Of Iowa back in November 2019 for our wedding, and we couldn't have been more pleased with the food! Everything was excellently prepared and tasted great, and they were even able to provide gluten free/vegetarian options for a few of our guests. The staff at the event were all pleasant and professional, and were able to answer any and all questions. They were able to cut our cake as well (not from them), and after the meal they even boxed everything up which was incredibly helpful. One slight issue we did have; communication difficulties. In setting up the initial meeting, as well as checking in the week of, mostly just us asking a bunch of questions at once and not receiving a few answers until later on. There was also a slight miscommunication in terms of the kids' meals; we assumed it would be a separate buffet (chicken fingers, mac & cheese, etc.) but it turned out it was just a discount on the overall price for the number of kids. Not a big deal as everything worked out excellently and we received answers to all questions (and the kids ate just fine!), but thought I'd add. Overall, we would definitely recommend using Great Caterers of Iowa. For the price and the quality food, it is hard to beat. (Try the boursin stuffed mushrooms, they're amazing!)

Joni was AMAZING to work with. Her and her staff are the friendliest people I have ever had the pleasure of working with. We had a mishap with the tablecloth length on our tall tables and she was on the ball getting it taken care of for us. Eric made a special trip out to the venue the morning of the wedding with multiple options to make sure we got the length we wanted even though they weren't scheduled until a 5:30 serve time. They go above and beyond to make sure everything goes according to plan and no one involved in the wedding has anything to worry about. We received so many great compliments from the guests that the food was delicious and had no complaints about it. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Joni and her staff were fabulous! Everyone raved about the salad and beef. We had so many last minute changes, and Joni and her team were very responsive and understanding. She helped calm me down and always called me back quickly. I would definitely recommend Great Caterer's for any event!

Joni's crew was fabulous to work with. We worked closely with Jimmy who gave us our taste test, answered questions on the phone, and who was a huge help in helping us plan our menu. The food was phenomenal and I never heard a guest say otherwise. When we showed up to the event, everything was set up and ready to go. The servers at the event were kind and even served our wedding cake for us. The only reason this review is not a five-star review is because the owner, Joni, was never available to talk with. She claimed several of my emails went to her junk mail and went unanswered for weeks and when we called she always seemed to be in meetings. They also did not want to go over our menu until one week prior to our event, which was a little bit stressful on our end. Overall, I would still recommend Great Caterers if you are organized and on top of things. The food was amazing and will be remembered.

Wow!! People are still talking about our food a month later! The food was phenomenal! Joni was great to work with and was very flexible to create a wide array of choices for our guests! Joni was able to make our vision come to life! We couldn't have been more pleased with the food! The staff was also very good - professional and took care of all our guests. We hardly knew they were there!! Overall - I would tell you to hire Great Caterers - you won't find anyone better!!

Can't say enough good things about Joni and her team. I was indecisive and I just let her pick my menu and it was beyond wonderful. Guests are still raving about the food and service!

Great Caterers offer anything you need in the area of catering. We had appetizers and a sit down dinner. She was quick to respond to our emails and phone calls. Our guests are still talking about the food!

Joni and her staff were great to work with. The food was delicious - the chicken spiedini was amazing! The price per plate was very reasonable as well. It depends on the place setting and meal. We had a buffet and two meats. We had so many compliments on the food during the reception and weeks after too.

Joni makes you feel at ease during the stress and chaos of your wedding week. She and the rest of the caterers were amazing. The food was great and all of the guests loved it!

It's been almost three weeks since the wedding, and we're still getting compliments on how delicious the food was. We chose to do stations for our wedding reception. We weren't sure what we wanted to do, but Joni was there to guide us through all of our choices. She was open to all suggestions we had but also gave us a lot of good advice on what would work for our space and crowd size. Great Caterers also took care of our bar service. Talk about zero stress. Joni hired the bartenders for us as well as provided all of the cups, ice, and any other equipment needed. It was a pleasure working with Joni and Great Caterers and I would recommend them to everyone!

joni and her staff were very enjoyable to work with. From the first meeting we knew this would be our caterer. We loved going into meet with Joni as she is great to work with and is open to create new dishes. She sent us to her BBQ restaurant to try their food as well as her other dishes at her facility. Her food was amazing and everyone loved the food. Her BBQ is outstanding and would highly recommend going to her restaurant in Knoxville. We will be using Joni again for any catering needs. We have already recommended her to a many other people who will be using her

I had an amazing experience with Joni, the owner of the company. She is very sweet and easy to work with. She offered many suggestions for my wedding and we ended up doing a food station set up and it was amazing. The food was spectacular and everyone loved it. We did have a bad experience with the catering staff at the wedding reception - food was taken away too early and staff was rude to the bridal party. This was upsetting but once Joni was made aware of the situation, she resolved it and she certainly will make things right should anything go wrong at one of her events. I would definitely recommend because it is great food and reasonably priced!

These guys were really easy to work with. Went above and beyond to be sure we liked what we had selected for our menu. Had all the food prepared on time and it was AMAZING!!

They catered my daughters wedding reception. Guests raved about the brisket and the rest of the meal. They were good to work with in the preparation. The staff the day of the event was pleasant and handled things well. The bride and groom decided to get married in DesMoines, even though the couple and parents do not live their. They were a good choice.

The guests loved the food! Joni was super easy to work with and was very flexible. The only complaint I might have would be some other non-food related issues. We paid for the cake cutting service but they left before we cut the cake. There was also a mix up on who was paying the Bartenders... we thought they were though her but turns out we had to pay for them on top of everything (still very affordable - $15 per hour). All in all, everything was very good. The staff was nice and they helped make our event great! My mother-in-law liked them so much, she wants to book them for her company Christmas Party.

What can I say... AMAZING food and definitely very reasonable. Service was awesome and Joni is great to work with whatever needs I asked for.
