I wasn't originally going to write a review, as I just wanted to move on and forget about this part of our otherwise wonderful day. However, I feel I should warn others of the recent change in behavior of the staff at Great Circle Catering.
I ...originally booked back in January or February 2021 for our October 2022 wedding (originally planned on a 2021 wedding which we quickly pushed back a year). My first contact and the chef were both wonderful. I told them I would need a 100% gluten free and soy free menu, and they said (with the exception of not being a fully gluten free kitchen) that it was completely possible. We picked a taco buffet which included stationary appetizers, and the chef said we'd just leave one of the apps off as it wouldn't be able to be gluten free.
Fast forward to, I believe, earlier this year, and I find out that my contact has left and I have a new contact - which isn't a huge issue in and of itself, it was everything after this point.
One of the first things they tried to do was to increase my prices, despite having signed a contract (I did push back and did not have to pay more), stating that the original person I was working with didn't put it in correctly and that their menu and her both gave me incorrect information, that the appetizers weren't included in the buffet dinner. As time went on, the communication seemed to be more delayed and I kept getting different answers than I'd originally had.
Less than a month before the wedding, they informed me they don't provide the cups or ice (whether to cool the drinks or put in the drinks) for the soft drinks they were providing - I was originally told they would. I was also informed they normally charge (extra) for the cups and creamers/sugars etc for the coffee & tea service, even though I was already paying for the service, but they wouldn't do that since I'd been working with them for so long.
The biggest issue was the day of our wedding, I find out (not from any of the staff but from a friend/guest) that they included a gluten appetizer after all. This meant I (as the bride) could not eat any of the appetizers because of my severe food sensitivities, the reason behind a 100% gluten free and soy free menu. When my husband confronted the staff, they said that they couldn't find a gluten free substitute. I was recently told by another friend that the app in question disappeared from the appetizer table shortly after, but the damage had been done regardless.
