Great Wolf Lodge

I learned that GWL had banquet facilities to accommodate wedding receptions, I was thrilled. We knew that we wanted something different than the cookie cutter hotel banquet room and GWL was perfect for that. From my first conversations with Brittany, I knew we would enjoy working with her. She made us feel so comfortable at our first meeting and every one throughout the process. Her super fast and made-me-feel-better-instantly responses to my bridezilla-like freak outs and requests were more than I could have ever hoped for. I really can't say enough great things about working with her. All of the staff at GWL worked so hard and were great to interact with on our wedding day. All of our requests were met and everything was done at or before the time we were told it would be. We felt at all times like we were being cared for, not just worked with. Tracy, the banquet manager was simply wonderful to work with on our wedding day. He was there for anything and everything we asked for and more. From being there first thing in the morning making sure everything was set-up perfectly, to helping with all of my crazy set-up details, to having drinks ready for my husband and I as soon as we arrived, to making sure we always had everything we needed, to helping pack up all of our goodies, and so much more, he was just awesome. When we had a transportation issue that meant we and our wedding party would be arriving later than scheduled, I did what any frantic bride would do and called my dad freaking out. He was able to find Tracy immediately and when he informed him we had a problem, Tracy put his arm around my dad and said something like "it's your daughter's wedding day, there are no problems today" and immediately handled the situation (keeping 175 people out of a room, coordinating with vendors, delaying food service, etc.). I really can't thank him enough. We were in the Grand Oak Ballroom which was the perfect size for our group of 175. Thankfully the weather was nice enough that we were able to use the terrace for cocktail hour and I was surprised at how many of our guests enjoyed hanging out in this space during the reception. The food was absolutely wonderful and the bar service was great. Prices were right in line with other similar venues. Many of our guests stayed at the lodge and enjoyed a waterpark vacation before and/or after the wedding which they enjoyed. Possibly my only complaint would be the cost of the rooms. We did get a significant discount but they were still expensive for our guests so many could not afford to stay. Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend Great Wolf Lodge - Williamsburg to couples looking for a wedding venue, or anyone looking for banquet facilities. Happy planning!
