Wow, where do I even begin to describe how incredible Chef Thao and her team are. My husband and I are avid foodies, so we both agreed that the number one thing we did NOT want to ...
compromise on for our wedding was the food. However, given that we are both from a Taiwanese background and wanted to incorporate our culture into the food, we were stuck. Most wedding venues don’t allow you to bring your own food and a lot of the caterers we had looked up only seemed to serve the standard chicken, steak, and salmon. After a lot of googling, I came across Green Mangos catering and tucked them away in the back of my mind – when they ended up being one of the approved caterers for our venue, we decided to choose them and give them a try.
Nothing could have prepared me for how amazing the experience would be and how many guests would RAVE about the food. Right away, I LOVED how communicative Chef Thao was from the start; she never left any message hanging or unanswered. The biggest challenge for us was making sure that the food would live up to my very picky parents’ expectations. Chef Thao took things in stride and really stepped up to the challenge.
Which brings me to the other many things I love about Chef Thao. She is absolutely the perfect combination of assertive, loving, and humble. Whenever we were talking through decisions and logistics, she was fully transparent about the pros and cons of each option and always knew when to step in and recommend things when I truly had no idea which direction to go. She never made me feel like she had any other interests in mind, and I knew she was 100% on my team – honestly, she almost felt like a second mom. When we were looking for wedding vendors, we really wanted ones who made it a point to honor diversity by showcasing it in their work. Chef Thao’s humility in tackling cultural foods is unparalleled, and I am so impressed by the efforts she went through to research and improve our food after our first tasting. By no fault of her own, I had given her a generic recipe for Taiwanese Cold Noodles that I had found on the internet, and my parents…were not impressed. She was so patient as we went through several rounds of troubleshooting and on the day of the wedding the sauce was AMAZING! My parents also had some issues with the fishy taste of the sea bass on the first tasting and Chef Thao researched different ways to mitigate that taste – the sea bass ended up becoming everyone’s favorite dish of the night and my entire family devoured the leftovers at home immediately the next day!
Minnesota and its wedding industry is SO lucky that Chef Thao and her family fell in love with the area and chose to stay, because the food and service offered could easily thrive in a bigger city. Somehow, she managed to win my parents’ trust by the second tasting, which is a huge accomplishment in it of itself. Tom, the maitre’d made sure we were always well-fed and hydrated the night of, and the buffet line went so smoothly and quicker than expected. I used to roll my eyes a little whenever I saw the word “investment” on various wedding vendor websites, but now, after experiencing Green Mangos catering, I understand that it truly is an investment into the best day and food possible. You can taste the love Chef Thao has for her couples and her business in the food that she makes and if you want a celebration full of love, Green Mangos should absolutely be your number one choice for any catering needs.

ng advice and aiding with questions she was a joy to work with and I’m so thankful we had her. On the day of, her husband and maitred’, Tom, was fantastic and checked in with us and guests constantly. I don’t have enough good things to say! Also, of course, the food is amazing.
Absolutely amazing! We couldn't have asked for a better caterer for our simple, casual reception!! Would definitely hire them again!
I cannot say enough about the spectacular experience we had with Green Mangos as our wedding caterers!!!! Thao and Tom and their excellent staff were like having wonderful friends ...
cater to our every whim on our special day!!
The food was AMAZING!!!! We still hear about "the best shrimp (cilantro ginger shrimp) I've ever had" and, "did you get to try the tuna tartar??" And even "... the best food I've ever had" - our wedding was one month ago and we can't stop talking about our caterers!!! They were always right there whenever we or our guests needed anything. Always.
We absolutely loved Green Mangos!!! And we are seriously considering a one year anniversary party just to experience it all over again! They made us feel important, special and completely taken care of. They operate with total integrity, professionalism and intuitive anticipation of what clients want and need!!!! A+++++ FABULOUS!!!!!!
THANK YOU from the bottom of our newlywed hearts for being very special 'guests' at our magical Blue Moon wedding.

an provide, to the full customization of our menu, they made our event so special. We received so many compliments on the delicious food they provided from all of our guests.
They were even able to pull off a last minute request to get King Crab legs for just the Bride and Groom a week or so before the big day.
I highly recommend reaching out to Thao at Green Mangos, even if you have a few questions, they will help guide the whole way.

n order and in place for the wedding, including rentals etc. Importantly, she was very patient with some of my more last minute requests as a consequence of me forgetting to mention some very important details, like menu changes. On the day of the wedding, everything ran smoothly and she and her husband Tom were very attentive to our needs and the needs of our guests, including making accommodations for someone that could not consume gluten and a guest that was observing Ramadan. I hope that I have an event that needs catering sometime soon just so I can work with them again!!

e our day special. To start, the food is absolutely perfect. Each protein was cooked so beautifully, and the flavors were just outstanding. I am also usually a huge meat eater, but our vegetarian option, Pumpkin Mascarpone Ravioli, was also the most delicious thing ever. We were getting compliments on the food all night!!! They also have a very diverse menu to choose your food from, so no matter what, you'll find something to suit your taste.
More than this, Green Mangos has the most excellent service you will ever find. Tom will MAKE sure you have a drink in your hand, food in your belly, and smiles on you and your guest's faces. During our social hour, Tom was serving my husband and I the entire time, and we GREATLY appreciated it!! He made sure to tell us that whatever we needed, he would take care of. When one of our guests wanted more of an appetizer, Tom brought out a whole plate for him. When we needed table linens to be changed because of stains, he was right on top of it. Tom doesn't even let the bride and groom stand in line at the buffet table! He personally serves them a plate of food and makes sure they get a second helping.
Overall, our experience with Green Mangos went far beyond our expectations. Their dedication to our wedding made our entire event so special. I can proudly say I am one of the few brides in this world that ate excellent food throughout the entire night and was never thirsty!!! This team is worth every cent and will prove that to you on their wedding day. There is a reason they have such spectacular ratings from their clients. If you want a caterer who will be the talk of the guests, use Green Mangos Catering.

ice was unbelievable. Thao suggested excellent dishes and our guests enjoyed it. Everyone was raving about the hor d'oeuvres. Tom made sure we had everything we needed and paid extra attention to our parents. They did a fantastic job communicating with us and all of the other vendors. They did a really good job keeping us in the loop with unexpected changed. Thao and Tom are a perfect team. We did not just get a catering service, we got so much more and we're so glad we chose Green Mango, I don't think anyone else could have done as good of a job as they did.

an any other part of our wedding! Having gluten and dairy-free options was very important to me and Green Mangos was able to do that with ease! They also had a vegetarian option that wasn't just pasta and the vegetarians at my wedding greatly enjoyed it. I cannot recommend or thank them enough!

rom the tasting we knew Green Mangos was the perfect choice for food because it was incredibly delicious. We quickly learned through working with Thao and her team that is it is also especially important to have knowledgeable and accommodating professionals running the show.
Working with Thao was incredibly easy. She immediately understood our vision and knew how to execute that vision. She not only helped us plan a beautiful meal (our friends are still talking about how great our wedding meal was), she was also a wealth of information on timing of the day, how much ice we would need for our bar, and what kind of desserts we should order. Thao also took care of ordering all the linens, flatware and dishware, and had our dessert billed through her service so we only had to pay one vendor on the day of the wedding.
Thao's staff, and especially Maître D’ Tom, were amazing on the day of the wedding. When food service began, Tom immediately brought filled plates to me and my husband and was constantly checking in and filling our champagne glasses. I cannot say how impressed we and our families were with the level of service and presentation that Green Mangos provided.
If I ever have catering needs in the future - I will only be hiring Green Mangos. They are simply the best in town.
The service and food was fantastic. Neither of us were expecting to be so taken care of. We were offered a drink at the immediate end of ceremony and received very attentive table ...
service, though we had opted for a buffet. It was incredible.
The food itself was so delicious. We are still receiving compliments about our pasta choices and the pies.
I would highly recommend Green Mangos Catering.

ns along the way and really allowed us to benefit from her experience, which is exactly what we wanted from our caterer. As another reviewer mentioned, Thao's food choices are really fun twists on familiar dishes and nearly every guest we spoke to said they loved that they were served something delicious that wasn't the typical wedding fare. We had a vegan and gluten-free diner who really threw some other caterers for a loop, but Thao didn't bat an eye! At the wedding reception, Tom made sure we had food and drinks at all times and also accommodated a last-minute soft vegetarian meal for one of our grandparents. Thao & Tom are truly wonderful and made this whole process enjoyable, easy and very tasty - I would highly recommend them to anyone!!
Cannot fault Thao and Tom in anyway. Their food and service were impeccable. We tried several caterers...but the quality of Green Mangos food blew them out of the water. They we...
re by far our best vendor experience. We have since recommended them to several others, plus re-hired for a corporate event.
Key positives:
*Menu line up offers a bit of a twist on classics -- keeps it interesting vs. just being like every other steak, chicken or fish wedding.
*They were thoroughly on top of everything. Devoted several hours to meetings, phone calls and tastings throughout the process to ensure no detail was missed.
*Pleasure to work with. They were flexible in chopping and changing the menu a bit due to some food allergies.
*HIGHLIGHT: grandmother of the bride had a fall during cocktail hour and had to be taken to hospital by ambulance, accompanied by 2 additional family members. Tom packaged up 3 meals and ran them to the hospital. AMAZING. Thoroughly, thoroughly appreciated and respected by the family. Comments were all over social media about that extra touch.
*They make a point of ensuring bride, groom, and parents are well looked after. Tom personally kept us supplied with food and drink immediately following the ceremony (during photos), since there was no way we would otherwise get a chance.
Of the brilliant decisions I made in planning my wedding hiring Green Mangos Catering has to be at the top. Thao and Tom are a dream time. From the first moment I met Thao I knew...
I had found someone inspiring, motivated and very organized - I loved her. At our first tasting, my husband fell in love with her too. The food was impeccable. But Green Mangos is so much more than just beautifully presented and unimaginably delicious food. We had our reception at a venue that came with zero involvement or help from the venue itself. Our reception could not and would not have gone as smoothly as it did if it weren't for the incredible attention to detail and service from Thao, Tom and their team. I received countless compliments to their level of service and helpfulness. Tom walked around our reception filling up guests water glasses, teaching them how to fold napkins (when asked to, they thought it was cute), checking on my husband and I, the list goes on. My Mother was sick and unable to come to the reception as my Dad and Aunts were leaving he packaged up a 'to go' plate for her for when she was feeling well. A thoughtful gesture that spoke volumes to my family. At the end of the night while talking to Thao I kissed her on the cheek. You'll want to too.
