Traven photographed our wedding in New Orleans in November 2023. His photos are phenomenal! He did a great job capturing many different types of moments, and his use of light under the trees in the park was amazing. He also blends in so well that he might just be a ninja. Hire him, you won't regret it!

Let me just say, Traven, you are amazing! We booked Gris Gris Photography about a year prior to my daughter’s wedding. Prior to booking, we had a meet and greet via Zoom call where we discussed preliminary plans and listened to his suggestions. He also quoted us a great price. He was a pleasure to talk to. A few weeks prior to the wedding, we had another more detailed meeting to finalize the timeline. He also requested a photo list for the formal shots for after the ceremony. I strongly recommend, as Traven did us, names of individuals in each photo be provided with this list. This limited the time away from the reception and kept things organized. It was easier on him and us to not have to remember or to have to go searching for those individuals who were MIA. Traven was extremely prepared and got us to the fun quickly. He was always at the right place at the right time to get the best shots for the ceremony and reception. A week or so after the wedding, he sent us preview shots of some of his favorites for us to get excited about and share. And as promised, we received the link to the full resolution photos with full rights in just over two months! I wasn’t so sure we would get them so quickly given the holidays, but he was quick considering his timeline was 2-3 months and it was worth the wait. The pictures are beautiful! I genuinely recommend Traven for your wedding!

Traven Stout was a fantastic photographer. He was a calming presence throughout the wedding chaos. He got every shot we asked for and more. We couldn’t be happier with how the photos turned out. We would absolutely suggest using Gris Gris photography to capture such an important day.

Traven Stout was EXACTLY what we wanted for our wedding. I work as an editorial photographer, and while many brides want rings and flowers and dress photos, I was most interested in capturing live, organic moments -- both of me and my husband, but also of our guests. I wanted cool action shots that would be interesting and dynamic. He really captured it. We had so many moments that we never even noticed he was there. Then when we did my solo bridal portraits, I felt so beautiful and natural and not awkward at all. Would hire him and his assistant in a heartbeat.

10/10 best, most laid back but professional photographer you will find. Traven did an amazing job capturing our big day. Months leading up to the wedding Traven made time to have conversations with us about what the day would look like, what photos we wanted to capture, and overall timeline for the day which was super helpful. The photos we got back as our preview are so beautiful, and unique to us as a couple which was what we were looking for in a wedding photographer. I cannot recommend him enough, he is insanely talented, and we are so thankful for the moments he was able to capture. Do not make the mistake of not hiring him, he is the best around!

From the start, it was so easy to discuss our wedding plans and choose which of the many customizable, yet affordable packages fit us best. In the months leading up to the wedding, Traven always made himself available for questions or updates. Laying out the timeline and plan for the night was a breeze. We only had our venue booked for four hours, including ceremony and reception, so sticking to a schedule was important. Traven did a phenomenal job at managing that. We flew through the family portraits without missing a single shot; he posed everyone to perfection. Every special/funny/memorable event that followed, Traven captured. He didn’t miss a beat. All with the calmest, yet most fun demeanor. My husband and I had the absolute best time, and we have the most breathtaking pictures to prove it. The compliments we have received on the pictures are endless. Many have said they belong in a magazine, and I would have to agree. Traven was so professional and thorough in preparation for our wedding - from providing a lineup template for our formal family poses to the call two weeks before to walk through every detail. Then came the wedding weekend. He and his second shooter weren't intrusive or made us/our guests feel uncomfortable as they took hundreds (or thousands?) of shots. We were SO FREAKING DELIGHTED with the final shots. They captured our feelings, the vibe and the venues so perfectly. There were too many perfect ones that I literally couldn't choose favorites, so I bought hundreds (eek!). Thank you, Traven. We will cherish these images for the rest of our lives.

Booking with Traven was the best decision we made during the entirety of planning the wedding, full stop. While his portfolio speaks for itself and our photos turned out gorgeous beyond our wildest hopes, he was also just such a nice and fun person to work with throughout the entire process (he did our engagement photos too)! We stumbled across Gris Gris photography when looking for a photographer to capture our Covid postponed wedding reception/1 year anniversary party as our first photographer from the ceremony was unavailable. We were so lucky to find Traven! He has already provided us some preview shots one week later and they are phenomenal! They are better than the photographs we got last year for our ceremony and it had us wishing that we had known of Traven then because we definitely would have hired him instead. He has a special eye for detail and notices things that other photographers would not to capture shots that are both more artistic and genuine. On a personal side, he was very easy going, flexible and easy to talk to and work with. The preview shots have us so excited to see the rest! You won’t be disappointed in hiring Traven.

He helped me create a wedding day timeline, we had multiple phone conferences and overall, was very personable and friendly. So lucky that we found Traven! We booked him right before the pandemic and then ended up having to reschedule our wedding twice but he was great through the entire process from rebooking to planning out all the shots we wanted. He is very knowledgeable with his craft from getting the right lighting and staging the posed shots and especially when it comes to capturing the genuine fun moments in the candid shots.

We hired Traven for our wedding (we got The Six package) and he was amazing. We were particularly impressed with his candid photos that captured the spirit of the event. We had a destination wedding, so we had 1 meeting virtually, 1 phone call, and communicated mostly via email. Traven was always prompt with responses, answered all our questions, and was super flexible. Working with him on the day of the wedding was wonderful, too. He and the second photographer were on time and managed to be ever present at our wedding without it feeling like they were demanding or imposing. Nothing felt forced or staged and our amazing photos show it. Traven delivered some of his favorite preview photos just a few days after the wedding and they are FANTASTIC. We are so happy we went with Gris Gris Photography! It was all worth it!

What an amazing job Traven did for our backyard wedding! He captured some truly amazing moments, we didn't even know he was there! He takes the time to find really authentic moments that result in really magical photos. He and his assistant were easygoing and fun and even positioned the wedding dress on the hanger (and the train for group photos) so professionally and arranged the rings in a really beautiful, thoughtful way. We worked with him for our engagement photos, just had him photograph our small wedding, and are having him come back for our bigger event next year - he is absolutely incredible to work with! Excellent stylish pictures Gris Gris photographed our wedding and we could not be more happy. Traven (the photographer) was on point. We couldn't have picked a better photographer than Traven for our wedding! We wanted a lot of candid, action shots of everyone having fun, and we knew after seeing his portfolio that he was the right person for that. Finding Traven felt like finding a shining light of creativity and spunk in a sea of posed and tired wedding photos. His documentary style was JUST what we were looking for at our courthouse ceremony and BBQ reception. He captured so many beautiful moments from angels that were just STUNNING. He also got some beautiful shots of our families at the ceremony and the standard group shot that our mothers wanted looked gorgeous. He does a beautiful job of capturing important scenes without BEING seen and I think that made all the difference. Unbelievable professionalism and a willingness to work with our schedule and needs. He not only worked with in our budget, but he also went out of his way to maximize our budget by suggesting things like the first look (which were some of my favorite photos). He won’t let you down!

Traven is THE BEST! He makes you feel totally at ease and isn't a fan of the cheesy poses most photographers place couples in. Traven allowed my husband and I to be ourselves and just capture the moment. We have some stunning shots of our special day! Also, I highly recommend a solo bridal shoot with him outside of your wedding day! He has some great vintage film cameras he can use that are great for "artsy" shots. If you are looking for a photographer with an eye for natural/in the moment shot style, Traven is your man!

His passion for artistic and professional photos are apparent in his knowledge of lighting, color, and candid moments.
