Instead of dancing you are playing board games all night. Yeah, we get you. Weddings don’t have to be lilies and roses. There is nothing wrong with lilies and roses, we quite like them, but you don’t have to have those. You can have paper flowers or no flowers at all. Your options don’t have to be chicken or beef. Eat lamb ragu or vegan chili. Let’s plan a wedding that looks like the two of you. You know what makes a wedding awesome? Spending time with the people you love. A wedding doesn’t have to cost $50,000 if you don’t want it to. Spend money on the things that really matter to you. Let’s uproot the idea of what a wedding should look like. Let’s celebrate this commitment you have made to each other. Let’s throw a huge party where everyone has a great time! Let’s plan this event so well that it doesn’t look planned at all. SERVICES OFFERED Grit City Weddings + Events offers several packages for weddings of all shapes and sizes. From elopement or elopement-like to massive 500-guest blow-outs, we have the connections, skill, and passion for weddings to make these awesome celebrations happen. We strive to work with Tacoma and Seattle-based small businesses, especially womxn-owned and Black-owned companies because, often, those are the most badass companies. We want to work with couples who are on the same page as us, too. That means we agree on some basic tenets: Black lives matter, feminism is for everyone, no human is illegal, science is real, love is love, and religious freedom makes each of our lives rich with compassion. We also look for clients who care more about the marriage than they do about the wedding. Of course, the wedding is an important and pivotal day, but it's just one day in a, hopefully, long string of days. Basically, just be a good human being who wants to celebrate your love surrounded by your friends and family. Wedding Coordination You and your friends and family actually get to host and enjoy your event instead of work it. You set up and reach out to all the vendors. We meet a handful of times prior to the big day. You hand over all the responsibilities to us and we provide the point-person to coordinate all things during the event. You can hire us for just the wedding day or for the whole weekend - like for the rehearsal dinner or the next-day brunch. Packages start at $1750. Wedding Management In addition to the most important job (day-of coordinator), we can help find the right vendors and provide guidance on the details to make sure it is an event that looks just like the two of you. We can work out a fixed number of hours or budget you want to spend on our services and we will be your thoughtful wedding consultant in addition to the day-of coordination. Packages start at $2750.

ng the perfect vendors to keeping us on track and making sure we had everything we needed to truly make it our day. Ashley worked very closely with myself and our maid of honor to make sure the day went perfectly, and was an excellent day-of coordinator. We went with their Wedding Management package and, as someone who can be a bit of a control freak, it was exactly what we needed; Ashley took care of the things we needed done and pointed me in the right direction for all the things we wanted to do ourselves. On the day of the wedding, we truly were able to relax and enjoy ourselves knowing that Ashley had it all taken care of. I cannot recommend her enough!

No biggie. we understood we weren't her only clients. however that meeting didn't get rescheduled until 2 weeks before our big day. we had emailed her at least 3 times in those 3 months asking when it would be rescheduled, as well as asking other questions relating to the day. all we got was radio silence during that time Ashley didn't live up to those unlimited emails or texts that was included in the contract. like I said, overall we had a good experience, but just be aware that the communication was lacking. at least with us it was.

Our actual wedding day went remarkably smoothly despite some iffy weather conditions and many in attendance said it was the most well executed wedding they've ever been to. We trusted Ashley and Tosha with setting up all the decor and the bud vases and they did a phenomenal job.

ng. Once we met Michele and started working closely with her to finalize the details, I felt increasingly at ease. She thinks of EVERYTHING and keeps track of it in a way that just makes your life easier as a couple. The day of our wedding she and Erin were absolute heroes - from checking in throughout the day to see if I was OK/needed water, keeping us on schedule, setting up all the decor, getting all the vendors on the same page, lining up the wedding party, to packing up leftover dinner/desserts and gifts AND taking them to our car... we were so well cared for. I really don't even want to imagine what the day would have been like without Michele. It takes an incredibly caring, organized, and hardworking person to do events like this. We had all of that and more.

shley / Grit City Weddings and let me know that she would likely fit our vibe. While we hired Ashley as a day of coordinator, she was happy to provide us with a list of recommended vendors - we found a florist and hair/makeup stylist that both did fantastic jobs as well through her suggestions. The day before (rehearsal) and the day of Ashley worked really hard and ensured that we had a success. We did not have an easy wedding - it involved a trip up Crystal Mountain on a gondola, getting supplies up to the top for the ceremony, then back down for the reception. Additionally there were a lot of last minute changes - due to the covid resurgence, we moved everything completely outdoors at the last minute, and reworked details to make sure we had a safe celebration. Little details that I realized I hadn't thought of at the last minute she let me know she had already addressed. Overall she did an excellent job - organizing us and keeping the festivities moving, working in the background when appropriate, and overall doing an awesome job. Having her made our wedding day so much smoother, and so much easier, and meant our friends and family could enjoy the day. Note: this was a gay, semi-Jewish wedding on top of a mountain, which should just illustrate that she can handle absolutely anything.

n the area. I never felt like she was overselling their qualifications or ability to deliver. The recommended vendors delivered consistent to what we were told.
b. Communication: Overall ommunication was stellar. Throughout the 6 months of planning we only had a few times where we needed to send a reminder for follow-up. Given the degree and complexity of what we had going on, a few reminders were expected.
c. Execution: WOW. Ashley and her support team were so AMAZING! Day of they worked non-stop from sun up to sun down, even cleaning and boxing up table decorations, chairs, tables, candles, garbage, etc... We were blown away at what little clean-up we needed to do the next day for a 70 person outdoor wedding at our home. Her team really nailed it! They set everything up perfectly and didnt miss a beat the entire evening.
d. Peace of mind: Ashley was instrumental in creating a memorable day for us, the perfect day actually. She went above and beyond, always had a contingency plan, and was very responsive. All in all, I would not hesitate to recommend Ashley for any wedding, big or small. She is kind, approachable, strong communicator, and executes a great product. We feel very fortunate to have found Ashley specifically as she is the real deal and the person that every wedding needs. The walls could be falling down and you'd never know it... she is always calm and finds a way to fix anything and everything. SO GREAT. If you are considering her I would reserve her before she books out. She isnt going to stay available long and is well worth the investmet.

COVID I instantly knew that she was going to be perfect. She was so kind, attentive, and passionate for this work. I felt instantly at ease about putting my wedding into her hands. She worked to support me through 2 reschedules and I was devastated to hear that she was not available for my 3rd wedding date and a bit apprehensive about her co-owner Michele taking on my new date. That quickly changed as Michele and I began communicating. Leading up to my rehearsal dinner and wedding day I felt relaxed knowing that she knew my desires for my special day and I wouldn't have to worry about a thing. My wedding day went off without a hitch (that I knew of) and I know that is because of all of the amazing work that Michele did behind the scenes. Thank you both so much for the amazing work that you do making weddings days so special and allowing my focus to be on my new husband and all those who came to celebrate with me <3 I cannot thank you enough!

We met Ashley back in 2019 and instantly clicked. She dived right into getting to know us as a couple, as well as our vision for the big day. We had a complicated wedding thought out because we planned on having a traditional Vietnamese tea ce...
remony in the morning prior to the wedding ceremony. We also had a big bridal party with a huge guest list of 300 people. She planned on having an assistant with her on the wedding day to help coordinate a wedding of that size, which we were SO thankful for.
Unfortunately, we had to postpone our 2020 wedding because of COVID but we were so lucky that Ashley was available for our new wedding date. She was AWESOME during our wedding rehearsal making sure everyone was on the same page. On the day of the wedding I was a ball of nerves. I had a lot of decor that needed to be set up, so I was worried that the venue wouldn't be ready in time. Ashley and her team handled everything so professionally, while also making sure I had enough to eat and drink throughout the day. They kept us as close to the timeline we prepared as they could and put out so many little fires that were expected to come up during a wedding.
We're so beyond thankful for Ashley and her team. They were cool, calm, collected and could read my mind from across the room. Their hard work didn't go unnoticed. Even our guests were impressed!

d Ashley, they answered any email questions I had, plus Michele came to our venue (our house) for a long planning meeting as well. They provided vendor suggestions, lists of to-dos that I would not have thought of, and were incredibly helpful with brainstorming ideas for covid/distancing requirements.
On the night of rehearsal dinner Michele led the entire process. Our officiant was fairly inexperienced, and I certainly had no idea what to do. Michele made sure we practiced all the important parts without feeling too rehearsed.
On the day-of…wow! Michele was amazing. Let me just say that my personality is to be incredibly anxious/ worried/high strung. However, on the day of the wedding, I was actually relaxed, ahead of schedule and able to fully enjoy every moment! I completely owe this to Michele. Im sure there was chaos happening behind the scenes (we had to switch to our rain-plan at the last minute), but I never felt any stress on my end. All of my bridesmaids/groomsmen who have been part of another wedding before told me that this was the smoothest wedding they had been a part of, and they all said Michele was incredible!
My entire day was wonderful, and I am so so so happy I hired Grit City. Could not recommend them more!

She really went above and beyond - she met us at our venue (which wasn't super close), helped direct a zoom call with my loud crazy family, she continued to update a detailed timeline that she sent to myself and our vendors, and she was there from start to finish the day of the wedding - that list doesn't come close to describing everything she did! She also gave me an emergency kit to use on my wedding day, how thoughtful is that?! At one point she was even helping the servers at the venue make sure that the guests had drinks and water.
