Grooms Grotto

Me and my crew of groomsmen had a great experience working with the Grotto. In total they produced 9 suits for us, and for the most part they got everything pretty well dialed in on the first shot. If you can't make it in for the 3D fitting, it's no problem, though I think that helps avoid human error with hand measuring (which they also do to be safe). Any issues that came up (missing embroidery, fitting, etc) were handled in decent time. Communication could be better, personally I felt Valerie was a bit overwhelmed and maybe needing a little more help? For the cost of a nicely made and perfect fitting suit, this is a great spot to check out. I regularly wear suits and this one is part of the rotation now, so it's not a "one and done" type thing like you might get with a worn out and rather pricey rental. In fact, I regularly get compliments on my suit every time I wear it! Do yourself a favor and check these guys out (no wedding required). Keep in mind good things take time, so if you're in a rush then it's probably best to look elsewhere.

This place is amazing! I had a really specific blue that I wanted for my wedding suit and Grooms Grotto was the only place that I was able to find it. They had hundreds of fabrics to choose from and my fiance and I were able to design the most amazing suit for the big day. The bridesmaids dresses were coral and we were even able to add coral accents on the stitching to match! I can't tell you how impressed I was with both the service and the product. I got my suit and all my groomsmen's suits here. They closed down the shop for just my groomsmen and we had a really fun time drinking beer and getting measured. Also, each groomsman was able to pick a custom liner on the inside of their jacket. They were all so happy that they didn't have to waist their money on a rental. All the suits ended up fitting perfectly (they guarantee a perfect fit) and the quality was way above anything I've ever owned before. I also wear suits for work all the time and now get all my suits there because I know the fit will be perfect every time and I can design anything I want. LOVE THIS PLACE!

I had first heard about Grooms Grotto from a friend who had used them for her husband’s suit for their wedding. Our initial appointment was great and picked out all the elements my then Fiancé and I wanted for his wedding suit. We went back again a few months later for measurements and finished final details. They told us that it would be ready in about four weeks and that they would contact us when it was ready. Fast forward five or six weeks and we still hadn’t heard back from them. I had my husband call and they said there was a miscommunication and they hadn’t even put the suit into production yet. They also did not put down the changes we had made from the second appointment. Only a few weeks before the wedding and I was in a panic. They paid for the suit to be expedited and apologized to us several times. The suit turned out great and they made it right for us. I would just say I wish they were a bit more on top of things in the future or have a better operating system to avoid having this happen again.

My experience with grooms grotto... First I am a out of state customer that was recommended to them by a friend. Our initial appoint with all my groomsmen was fine but after that it all fell apart. They do not make it clear that they only do 2 person for the second fitting appointment and having everyone having to fly in or drive in at different times was difficult. They wouldn’t work with us to get us all fitted at the same time. It got so bad with the communication and the non ability to help us since we are out of state I just wanted them to ship my suit and I would handle everything from their and cut ties from working with grooms grotto. My self and all my groomsmen were supposed to have the same lining in our coats but one of the men out of state got a completely different lining. They did a lot of measuring and you could almost fit another person in my pants at the second fitting. They forgot 2 of the groomsmen pocket squares. At this price point of these suits which for us were almost $600 each with out a vest, they should have the process flawless. I recommend staying away from this company and shopping around to someone that can handle how working with grooms and groomsmen should be. I definitely won’t be using them again and I suggest you let a more professional company handle your wedding.

I love Grooms Grotto! I was fitted one time, and they kept all my measurements - which are perfect - on file, so that I can order another suit/shirt/whatever, at any time! Their customer service is amazing; they give you drinks while getting measured, help you pick out the matching styles (since my wife wasn't there), and help you round out your suit so you will always love it. Plus, the prices are great! We got a fantastic deal, which is rare on a 100% custom suit. Love you Grooms Grotto!

Unhappy Oddly Dressed Father-of-the-Bride In my opinion the Groom’s Grotto in Costa Mesa receives two stars for the extremely poor customer service and clear lack of consideration or willingness to correct a bad situation. One caused by their error in not ordering a matching shirt for me, the father-of-the-bride at the time they placed to order for the entire wedding group. And their unwillingness to correct the situation by rush ordering one when the suits came in. But that really is only a part of the rating. As the poor customer service started with the initial visit for the fitting process. I did not really feel welcomed fly Valerie rom the moment I walked in. Maybe it was a bad day for them. Perhaps because I wasn’t part of the group fitting. Well they never sent me an invitation to the group fitting so sorry to inconvenience you with a separate fitting. Next time make sure you include the full wedding party - especially the person shelling out the big bucks for the wedding. And it would be much easier to arrange a fitting if they had normal business hours. The fitting process went well and their attention to detail was very good. I didn’t find Valerie’s personality, comments, or suggestions very friendly and my wife pulled me aside more than once to say she also felt they were being a bit rude. I was never given an opportunity to see the actual suit color and fabric. When it came time to selecting the lining Valerie basically tossed the book on the table and walked off. When she returned she tried very hard to sell me a shirt. Excuse me - those were being ordered by the groom for the entire party and she already knew that. Apparently since I wouldn’t order my own shirt they dropped my shirt order from the group’s order. When it came time for the suit fitting I was pleasantly greeted by Ray. He brought out the suit, which looked great and fit extremely well. Their initial measurement process and attention to detail showed in the final product. However when I asked for my shirt. The one that matches the entire wedding party, there wasn’t one. Oh it did not make the order. And now it is too late to order one. Sorry - I have to disagree with it being too late. A rush order from Hong Kong or China can be received in three to four days. I should know, we do this in my business whenever we have an upset customer and want to make things right with them. The Grooms Grotto doesn’t seem to care. So this is one Father-of-the-Bride who will be standing out from the wedding group wearing a unique shirt. I am not happy!

I shopped around for a custom tux for my wedding and found that most people were charging $800+ for a custom tux. I checked out Grooms Grotto and I was surprised by how affordable they are. I went into their showroom, and I was blown away by all the options and choices I had to create my dream tux. I have always bought off the rack, but my body size isn't the most common, so I was always frustrated by how suit or shirt looked on me, it was always too baggy or too tight. After receiving my initial order and trying it on, I immediately set up another appointment to order a couple more blazers and shirts. The quality, the fit, the look... everything was perfect! I received compliment after compliment on my navy blue textured tuxedo, and my blazers were all a hit as well. Once you go custom, you always go back! I highly recommend Grooms Grotto for any wedding party, but even if you need dress shirts and blazers for regular life!

Grooms Grotto was the best find ever!!! We discovered Grooms Grotto through our wedding planner. We were having a tough time finding a rental tuxedo in a slim modern fit that didn't look like a tuxedo made for prom or that was dated and ill fitting. When we decided to go the custom route we were nervous about the cost but our planner assured us that Grooms Grotto would be the answer to our problems... she was right! The showroom manager, Valerie was a pleasure to work with. She showed us some samples and swatches and really took the time to understand what look we were going for. Then she took several measurements and made suggestions based on her years of experience. She also assured us that the tux would be done in time for our fast approaching wedding. When she told us the cost of the custom tuxedo we were shocked! It was a fraction of the price were had been expecting. We were thrilled!! We even brought my brother to have a suit made and it was amazing!! My husband is now hooked on Grooms Grotto! He received as many compliments on his tux as I did on my dress. This is definitely the go to place for the ultimate groom experience!
