first meeting I could already tell I could trust her with (what to me is) the most important part of this big expensive party. Every single song was not only the right choice, but played at the exact right time. She had the dance floor full and happy all night long. We had some really weird/niche must plays and she managed to pack them in at the exact right moments. I’m seriously getting teary again just thinking about how amazing the music was on our big day. My one and only regret is that I head banged too hard and now my neck is sore… eh, not even really a regret. Thank you Clare!!!

Pricing was reasonable and straightforward. The whole day was so special and joyous, and many guests were complimenting the music and asking me for the playlist. Highly recommend!

Clare not only executed our vision but even took some creative liberties that both surprised and delighted us. Clare made sure the dancefloor was always packed throughout the night and really helped make this the grand, joyful celebration we wanted for our wedding. Our guests raved about the music and are still talking about how much they had 2+ weeks later. If anything, it was hard to leave the dancefloor because Clare kept playing hit after hit haha. Cannot recommend Groove and DJ Clare enough for your wedding or special event!

A gem of a person to work with from the start, she takes the job seriously – crafting the night to fit our sensibilities (as a couple and knowing who our guests would be) perfectly, but also leaving room to feel the vibe in the room and adjust up or down accordingly. (Side bar: when my partner’s mother demanded we release YMCA from the no-play list and do it, Clare knew exactly how to get the immediately evacuated dancefloor bumping again). She has fun, adds excitement with her announcements and personality and is willing to think outside the box to make your event feel like a true party. We were blown away by the final playlist. All DJs are not created equal! Groove is in the Heart (and DJ Clare specifically) are A+++.

Although we didn’t ask her to MC, her professionalism and attention to detail made the evening flow smoothly from a music perspective. The only reason we’re giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that the transitions between songs could have been smoother. There were moments where the music didn’t flow as seamlessly as it might at a nightclub, which interrupted the vibe briefly. However, this was a minor issue, and overall she did an excellent job. We would still highly recommend her for any event where a great playlist and good vibes are the priority!

Once open dancing started, there were lots of people on the dance floor until the very end of the night. They were both extremely responsive from start to finish, and the entire process was flawless. Evan was open to all of our requests for cocktail hour, dinner, and the dance party. I truly believe our guests had a great time and we are forever grateful.

Zoom meeting that we wanted to go with her. Clare was easy to talk to and totally understood the vibe we were going for with our reception. She gave us a great questionnaire about our preferences (must play? must not play? last song of the night?) that made us feel confident that she was interested in tailoring the night to our tastes. Throughout the process, Clare was super responsive and helpful, going so far as to offer great suggestions for parent dance songs when we were having trouble deciding on them. On the night of our wedding, Clare absolutely killed it. Great selections all night long, mixing in indie stuff we love with classic bangers, and front loading the night with old hits that got the old people out on the dance floor, including people I’ve never seen dancing. As the night progressed, she switched it up more, and sometimes it felt like she could read our minds about what we wanted to hear. People would ask me “did you request this?”, but everything was left up to her, and we couldn’t be more happy with the vibe she created for us. Clare also handled all the musical cues for our ceremony, and did that perfectly as well. In the end, we left the last song of the night up to her, and she played one of our favorite songs, which she must have remembered we had mentioned in passing during one of our meetings. It was a perfect and memorable way to end our wedding reception. I could not recommend her highly enough.

We wanted something a bit different than a lot of the typical wedding songs and styles and he was totally on board with and supportive of our vision (a lot of 80s new wave, disco, 2010s indie pop, and Bollywood). He was incredibly good at reading the room and keeping the floor full, his transitions were smooth and intentional, and he had clearly put care into building the set. We were thrilled with his choices and our guests were very vocal and complimentary about his work and the selections. He was also very careful about getting name pronunciations and peoples' pronouns correct during announcements and always got it right. We would absolutely recommend Evan and Groove is in the Heart.

- Marjorie was an easy-going and kind presence throughout our wedding planning. They were thoughtful in providing clear instructions on how to choose our wedding music and structure our day, which made the music planning part of the wedding feel like a breeze. They understood the vibe we were going for with wedding music and delivered beautifully! We had a small wedding, which can be hard to keep a dance floor going, but people wanted to dance throughout the entire night. Most importantly, we felt Marjorie’s care and thoughtfulness throughout the entire wedding day. We appreciate all the time and energy Marjorie, and Groove is in the Heart, put into making our wedding perfect.

Day-of, she arrived early and set up in two locations one for the ceremony and one for the cocktail hour. She even brought and held a portable speaker up for our "cake launch" instead of our cake cutting. She also did a great job at fielding folks trying to make requests and managing the crowd throughout the night. 12/10 would recommend.

As an emcee, Clare kept things moving on schedule and was a great presence in the reception space. Zero technical issues and zero DJ/emcee complaints. Unsolicited 5-star rating and would recommend her to any of our friends getting married in the future.
