er, Barbara. The flowers were just incredible. From our initial meeting with Barbara, we were really thrilled as she pulled our vision together without a hitch. Admittedly, I didn't have the "perfect" flower arrangement in my head that I wanted, so she was incredibly patient with me as we went through my Pinterest page and giving her a direction with colors. Honestly, it was so amazing how Barbara just got it. She took my vision that I didn't even know I had, made it even better and brought it to life! On dealing with Barbara, we really lucked out. Since about a year ago when we met her, right up until our wedding day, she was terrific and we honestly couldn't have felt any better taken care of (important when you have so many other things going on leading up to and the day of your wedding!). We even were invited out to her amazing farm to see where she grows most of the flowers that she uses and met all of her animals! My fiance and I don't miss a lot about the wedding planning process, but one of the main ones is Barbara and her lovely dogs! All around A++ experience, wonderful time, and great memories. We couldn't recommend Growing Wild/Barbara more.

in the wedding planning process and ended up meeting with Barbara based on a recommendation from a co-worker. She asked us for our budget and then we spent about an hour talking about colors and flower types. She never tried to upsell us on anything and was constantly looking ways to do more with a tighter budget. For example, my husband and I were very flexible on flower type for the arrangements so this allowed her to cut costs a lot because she could fill in the arrangements with different flowers that she was growing on her farm. Since we didn’t know much about flowers, Barbara made it super easy by going through a ton of pictures with us from both Pinterest and other weddings she has done and having us say whether we liked it or not. By the end of that first meeting, she helped us to decide on exactly what we wanted (even though we went into it just knowing that we wanted pretty and colorful flowers). On the day of the wedding all the flowers arrived on time and looked absolutely beautiful. We received so many comments from our guests on how beautiful all the arrangements were. Barbara was so thoughtful with every little detail – she even thought to provide extra vases so that the bridesmaids bouquets could be used as extra decoration at the reception. I would highly recommend working with Barbara! She made the whole process affordable, easy, and everything turned out even better than I had imagined!

pricing structure is very clear on her website, and Barbara is very frank about cost and the reasons for those costs. We gave Barbara a lot of leeway to create arrangements within our vision, and she did not disappoint. Even though Barbara cautioned me that my favorite flowers, lilacs, would probably be out of season at the time of our wedding, she surprised me with beautiful lilacs and gorgeous magenta and white peonies in my bouquet. The bouquets, centerpieces, and floral arch were full of color and beautifully arranged. Barbara is a master craftswoman, and we highly recommend her.

My bridal bouquet as well as the bridesmaids bouquets had perfectly coordinated colors and the textures were stunning and rich. When I saw our chuppah for the first time, I was stunned by how much she was able to do with our budget. It was everything I could have hoped for and more! We got so many comments from guests on how lush and gorgeous our chuppah was. It truly looked like something off a Pinterest board! haha. If you give Barbara flex, she can really stretch your budget by using flowers from her garden and recommending seasonal blooms. Another thing Barbara did which is rare for a vendor is talk me out of going vastly over budget. When I asked about something else, she would say "That's beautiful, but not necessary in my opinion, and I just want to remind you that you are a bit over our discussed budget already. I promise your florals will rock without that!" And they totally did. Sometimes brides need that reminder! haha. My only complaint is that I had asked her if she had a cloth chuppah topper she could use and she said she did, but there wasn't one on my chuppah day of. I only saw Barbara in the morning when she delivered the bouquets, so by the time I saw the chuppah, she had left. She said she didn't have it in her notes (though I know I mentioned it), so just make sure you address details like that if it's important to you. Otherwise, Barbara was a joy to work with and the florals were out of this world! I definitely recommend working with Barbara!

Barbara walked us through different colors and flowers, and helped us thinking about different pieces and how they'd fit together. She knows so much about flowers and colors, and we really appreciate her expertise. If you prefer, your event can use fresh picks from her garden with very reasonable prices. I had a specific theme for my wedding, and she was very open to brainstorm ideas with us. This initial meeting was like 2-hour long, and we really appreciate all the sharing from her. 2. Then Barbara requested to meet again at our wedding venue, coz w/ the vendor being new to her she wanted to do some research there. I was just amazed by her dedication and her attention to detail. You can see she loves what she does. She was very engaged asking questions to our venue manager, and also shared her ideas with us. After this onsite meeting, she shared a modified proposal for our consideration. 3. our 3rd meeting was 2 weeks before wedding. She walked us through the details before ordering flowers and decors. Again, very thoughtful and flexible to our needs. 4. The 4th meeting was at her farm a few days before our wedding and after she has ordered the flowers and decors. She walked us through the design with our actual flowers and made sure it's the right color combo we wanted. After introducing us to her lovely mini donkeys Dunkin and Donuts, she headed out to get more flowers to incorporate our feedback. 5. On our wedding day, I didn't worry about a thing, and Barbara took care it all with magic. Our wedding guests loved the elegant reception site designs, and everyone had so much fun with the glowing tree.

If you're looking for a florist in the DMV, please don't consider the wholesalers and the commercial chains, Barbara will make your day far more beautiful!!! I can't thank them enough for how gorgeous everything turned out! They even added some extra flowers to our cake at the venue without us having to pay the bakery the $50 surcharge for day-of additions! By far the best florists around!

On the other hand, Barbara met with me and my fiance for two hours going through pictures and ideas until we hashed out what we needed and what it would look like. I really appreciated the level of detail she asked for and her desire to nail down everything. Barbara is a master of the wild bohemian look. Don't hire her if you want something manufactured-looking and outdated, hire her if you want to let someone use their amazing creative talents to craft you something fresh, natural, and fun. We had no interest in micromanaging her and definitely made the right choice to let her do her thing. We were not disappointed! Everyone was amazed by the flowers and we got tons of compliments. Finally, her prices were very reasonable. Barbara was much less expensive than mosts florists in the DC area but provided more. I don't know how she does it, but there was no drop in quality at all. I recommend her extremely highly.

I'm absolutely positive that our arrangements were 10x better because we gave her maximum flexibility than they would have been if we dictated exactly what we wanted.

I was so excited to see what she came up with for the big day, and she did not disappoint. Our bouquets were absolutely stunning and the centerpieces she crafted for the reception added a whole new level of romance and beauty to an already lovely venue. I never thought I'd be so into flowers out of all the different components that go into planning a wedding, but they ended up being one of my favorite details on the big day.

On the day of the wedding, Barbara and her team arrived with the most stunning arrangement of tall, standing flowers, smaller table settings and gorgeous vines to dress the altar. She set up everything while I got ready with my bridesmaids so I didn't have to do a thing. I was just amazed when I saw them. My nine bridesmaids all gasped when they saw their bouquets because they were so colorful and beautifully arranged. My most-liked photo on Facebook after the wedding was the shot of my bouquet!! So that's saying something :) It was definitely a crowd favorite. If you have time, you would be lucky to get to know Barbara a bit during your wedding planning! I recommend you visit at home in the beautiful Virginia hills, where she has a couple horses, dogs and donkeys. Overall, Barbara's arrangements turned a beautiful barn into a jaw-dropping, floral wonderland. I highly, highly recommend her.

antly, as I had desired. A lot of people have trouble developing their vision - other than wanting their flowers to look like something out of a magazine. However, Barbara (the owner of Growing Wild) specializes in working with couples to codify their floral style. In my first meeting with her - held at a convenient Starbucks rather than trying to find her farm in Manassas - we spent 90 minutes taking what I call the flower Rorschach test. She showed me a ton of photos of flowers and just asked what I liked in each picture. Based on her assessment of my likes, she came up with a plan that suited my desire for "lots of stuff" in my desired color scheme. She also provided good advice as to what flowers would be in season during my wedding and would hold up on what turned out to be a hot day. She was even able to explain the plan to the groom - ha ha! She was very adaptable, adding about a third more flowers to the plan late in the game at my request. Delivery was perfect - handling deliveries on time to multiple locations, including the chapel, the reception venue, and the bride's home. She offers rental of the arrangements, which saves money, and we chose this so we did not have to figure out what to do with the arrangements after the event. We were also able to rent other accessories, including pillars and candles from her that really completed our decor. In the end, I felt that the bouquets and floral arrangements were perfect, and really satisfied my desires (plus they smelled awesome!) Overall the flowers are challenging to choose for ceremony and reception, but with Barbara's guidance, you will have a well-decorated wedding.

She continued to carry it around on Sunday as well - it just made her smile so much:) The bridesmaids wore the Jenny Yoo "Annabelle" dress in Cameo pink and Barbara did a combination of light pinks and light corals and white. The boutonnieres were great; we wanted a perfect size, not too big for the guys. The 2 altar arrangements were fabulous and out-of-this-word gorgeous - there are no words to describe how beautiful they were. We also had a few mason jars hanging from the chair backs, which we moved to the cocktail tables after the ceremony. The reception table arrangements were done in 6" square glass vases and made the tables so pretty. Barbara is a dream to work with! She knows her stuff and you can trust and believe in her ability and vision to provide you with a beautiful and memorable wedding and gorgeous pictures for years to come!

She also did me a huge favor and blocked a really ugly statue we were going to stand in front of for the ceremony with a beautiful trellis draped in fabric and greenery. Wonderful experience all around!

Seeing how Barbara turned those vague ideas into the most beautiful floral decorations of any wedding I’ve been to, I can truly say she is a master at what she does. During the consultation, she asked me many detailed questions that no other florist had asked me, including how tall I am (to determine what size bouquet would be most fitting for me). She listened very well to the things I told her were important to me, and took those all into consideration in creating our floral décor. We had a Persian wedding ceremony, which included a traditional wedding spread (sofreye aghd) – though Barbara had never previously decorated such a spread, she looked at the pictures I sent her and listened to the descriptions I gave her, and enthusiastically created such amazing floral arrangements for our spread that gave such a stunning look to our entire ceremony. For our reception centerpieces, she took the idea I had presented to her and infused it with her creativity and brilliance to make it far more beautiful than I could have imagined. Furthermore, she was very respectful of our budget restrictions and worked with me by using many of the flowers she grows on her farm in order to help us cut costs and remain within our budget. (I met with several other florists and most of them didn’t even ask me what my floral budget was). Finally, on our wedding day, Barbara went above and beyond our expectations, providing me with an extra bouquet to use for our outdoor first-look photos so my actual bouquet didn’t wilt in the summer heat prior to the ceremony. Barbara is not only an amazing florist, but also a wonderful person who truly enjoys what she does. Thank you Barbara for making our wedding such a beautiful day!

e. Her gorgeous flowers -- grown on her own farm -- made the room feel full of joy and life. The chuppah was stunning -- I've had about 40 people tell me that in the last 24 hours. And man, she works fast. Barbara has extraordinary vision and great creativity. I imagine, if you have a view of what you want, she's perfect, and if you are like me -- or you just want to trust the expert (which I recommend) -- you will walk out and see arrangements that are absolutely perfect for the space, for the mood you want.... she's just awesome. Finally, she's also a really cool person. You'll be glad you met her.

It was more beautiful than anything I had pictured in my mind. My daughter thought they were perfection. All of the guests commented on how beautiful they were. Of all of my wedding vendors, I have to say that I was most pleased with the flowers and the cake. I would highly recommend Growing Wild Floral Company.

(Her minimum is $1800, though). -From someone who's budget was the minimum, she does not let price get in her way of giving you EXACTLY the flowers you dream of. I loved calla lilies and orchids. These were both very expensive flowers. My bouquet was nothing but calla lilies and orchids...(She did a bouquet for me, a toss bouquet, 5 bridesmaids bouquets, 6 corsages, 8 boutonnieres, 25 center pieces, 2 altar arrangements) -she asks you to trust her to chose filler flowers so that you can stay in budget. TRUST HER. She really will only use the fillers she needs to (see above) and you won't even notice them. When my flowers arrived the day of the wedding, I almost fainted. It was like she had read my mind for what I wanted. They were BEAUTIFUL!

the stress of wedding planning. Growing Wild's portfolio showed a whole range of styles. Barbara brought my vision to life even though I threw in plenty of curve balls (like bridesmaids dresses in 4 colors). Guest after guest gushed that ours was the most beautiful wedding they'd ever been to, and one even described it as a "whimsical, enchanted fairy garden wedding." Others said it looked cinematic. Of course I'm just relishing in the compliments, but I have to give the credit to Growing Wild!

My mom wanted to make sure there were lots of flowers and I know Barbara worked very hard to make that happen with just a short set-up period. Everything was amazing, and I could not have been happier with my flowers!

at a lot of her flowers could be locally grown on her farm (for our April wedding). Her write-up of the florals was hilarious. She just has so much personality that it is hard not to get excited about the flowers even though I hadn't really thought about it, just liked certain looks from magazines. The day of, our flowers were STUNNING. It all seriously looked like it was out of Southern Living or Martha Stewart. I used milk glass containers that I provided to her, but she decided that I didn't have enough for the size of the table. So, she used her own containers to fill out the rest of mine. I felt like I got more value out of her services was more than I could have gotten from other florists with storefronts that I met with. Mostly though, her personality made the experience a fun one, and it definitely came through in our gorgeous wedding flowers.

That decision (or lack there of) absolutely paid off. When we did the 2-week confirmation, Barbara seemed very excited about the plan, and I can see why... the flowers were absolutely gorgeous and I couldn't have been happier. She worked with me to stay within my budget and she delivered a product beyond my expectations. I got the impression she'd have done anything I asked and done it well, but she went above and beyond when given free range to let her talents shine. We had GORGEOUS bouquets (6), boutineers (10), corsages (7), and table centerpieces (14). A tribute to how fabulous her flowers were - while I was getting my hair and make done pre-ceremony, Barbara herself came into my room to delivery my bouquet. As soon as I saw it, I teared up (to the dismay of my make up artist). My bouquet was so gorgeous it brought tears to my eyes. I had told Barbara that I wanted a purple bouquet that was *original* with roses, lilies and lots of other flowers I cant remember the names of. I also told her that I wanted purple and ivory flowers for my bridesmaids who were wearing brown dresses. I gave Barbara creative license and it paid off big time. I cannot rave enough about how much I loved them. Many guests complimented me on my bouquet as well. The value for her services is fantastic. We even rented our centerpiece containers from her to save money.

Barbara is so warm and engaging that she takes a lot of the stress out of a frightening process (frightening if, like me, you know nothing about flowers). Meeting with her was the first time I felt really excited about the wedding, and she certainly helped make it special. And reasonable! The rental arrangements for the ceremony were especially great.
