e to pick our wedding photographer, we were not limited by location. We spoke with many photographers all over the country and looked at countless websites. After exchanging emails and conference calls with Terry & Maike, we just knew Gruber Photographers were the right fit.
It wasn't until we met Maike (and her assistant Julia) in Positano, Italy a few days before the wedding that we knew how right we actually were. They worked so incredibly hard and never seemed to even take a breath. Every one of our guests commented on how professional and hardworking they were. With such a small group of people (only 16!), they fit in seamlessly over the 3 days of wedding festivities.
Demanding and take charge when necessary (which is occasionally needed with our families!), they were always in search of the perfect shot and in fact did capture them all! Never for a moment did we doubt that they were amazingly committed to helping us preserve every shot and memory!
Not only are we and our families obsessed with the shots they captured, but our friends were blown away too. They were able to experience the wedding through the pictures Maike took.
When it comes to your wedding, you only get one shot to capture these memories. Make it count!

Terry went above and beyond for us every step of the way, made us feel like we were his only clients, rolled with every punch we threw and kept giving and giving more than we could have ever expected. The night of our wedding Terry and his team followed our every move without being distracting or ordering us to stop and pose. They caught all of our special moments, amazing candids of the guests, band, kids, etc. and produced some outstanding posed group shots as we requested. We have held a lot of events in multiple cities for which we have used professional photographers and I can tell you without hesitation that Terry blew them all away. The quality of his photos and his ability to get everything (and I mean everything) is just amazing. He even brought multiple types of cameras to give us varied shots. And unbelievably - he took a great panoramic WITH HIS CELL PHONE that he emailed me after the event and it was the most amazing picture ever - cell phone or not. He and his team also took shots of our venue from outside to capture the chandeliers and lighting and the guests inside enjoying themselves. And they got the street sign and Columbus Circle statute in the shot. (We were married at Jazz! in Time Warner Center). I honestly can not recommend Terry highly enough. He was with me the entire night - from getting ready to leaving in the getaway car and he was such a huge source of calmness and strength. And that is huge! Then we received the photos and - WOW. I have never seen such magazine worthy photographs. Our guests were so thrilled with the moments that he caught, not only for us, but for them. It was truly a night to remember for everyone and Terry's wonderful work made sure that none of us would be able to forget. If you are considering Terry - you should nail him down immediately before someone else snaps him up. And if price is an issue and you are waivering - cut somewhere else and hire Terry. The photos are SO important. I didn't realize how much so until the event was over and I learned how much I didn't see (from the guests telling us stories of their night and their experiences). Because of Terry I have more memories than I had time to create during that whirlwind night. He is really the best in the business and we will be forever grateful to him for all that he gave of himself to make something that was so important to us even more special.

makes a huge difference. What's more, they took unbelievable photos, absolutely beautiful in color, framing and expansiveness of our guests. They seemed to be everywhere, yet someone was always with my husband and me to get shots of us with our guests. Everyone who saw the photos said, 'these belong in a magazine.' He knows how to capture the intimacy of the moment and make it shine with glamour. I cannot recommend him highly enough!!

Zev Greenfield's albums stood out as the clear winner and we weren't disappointed - Zev was amazing! Besides the gorgeous pictures, he provided amazing service. My makeup artist didn't show, so while my sister's hair was being done, he ran all over the neighborhood to salons and stores to find us another makeup artist. That was beyond the call of duty. I had seen Zev's "cool" New York City shots and we got ours in Rockefeller Center, our favorite pictures from the day. Aside from formal shots, I can't even remember seeing him during the reception, but he managed to capture everything. We ended up with about 1,200 pictures to choose from and Gruber was a pleasure to deal with. If I were to do it again, I wouldn't change a thing. I highly recommend Gruber Photographers and specifically, Zev Greenfield.

He made me look like a movie star and our guests look stunning in every picture (and a nice framed picture of each guest at your wedding is also a great present to give your guests for the following couple of years.... everyone likes a picture of them looking like a star on the red carpet). Terry and his crew really make it happen.
Forget spending the money on flowers.... a photo album from Terry is worth every penny! Yes, is is expensive, but COMPLETELY worth it. And he is very nice too - he can be very discreet, or he can get more involved if you prefer - he is very flexible and molds to your personality style.
Bottom line: it's worth saving on everything else at the wedding just to get Terry!

ra and the photos convey the excitement. Even the posed table photos feel fun. The Gruber folks were awesome from start to finish: helping us pare down the formal posed family photos (thank goodness!), selecting special moments to capture, communicating before and after the event, etc. When the photos were ready, we received a link to an online album so we (and all of our friends and family) could view/order the 1,600+ photos. Great!!!! Now that we are ordering prints and creating an album, Mindy is super helpful creating interesting layouts and helping us bring our ideas to fruition.
Please note that my pictures are not due until 6/8/09 so I haven't seen anything yet.

andids so we really can't complain. For portraits, he got some great shots. If anything, I recommend that you give detailed directions if there are specific shots you want. There wasn't much direction on how to stand, which way to face, or composition.
