Guildford Farm was the perfect venue for our weekend wedding! Jonny and Katie were fantastic and their optional planning services were SO helpful throughout the process and for the weekend of. It was so special for our wedding party to spend the night on site and host our rehearsal there the night before. Guildford Farm had everything we needed there and the venue was absolutely stunning. All our guests were so impressed! We cannot recommend them enough!

Guildford Farm was everything my wife and I hoped for at our wedding on May 23rd, 2026. We loved the space to have the bridal party sleep over on venue grounds and the ability to have our rehearsal and rehearsal dinner on site too. There are a good amount of hotels within a 20 minute drive for guests coming in from out of town. Our ceremony was supposed to be outdoors but rain forced us to move it indoors, and it worked out well! We had about 160 guests and it was probably the perfect amount to have space for catering and the dance floor too within the reception building.

Built in the 1790s, Guildford Farm was originally the home of the Early family - the namesake of Earlysville, VA - and operated as a cattle farm for decades. In 2003, the 8,000 sq. ft. home was fully restored. From the serenity of gently rolling hayfields and shaded lakeside banks to the stateliness of the historic farmhouse and rustic barn, the property is as expansive as it is unique.
We offer much more than your typical “farm or barn wedding.” With 150 acres to explore, the possibilities are nearly endless. For a memorable guest experience, encourage your attendees to stroll the newly maintained “Lover’s Loop” walking trail - conveniently located next to the reception center.

Our custom-designed event facility features 4,000 sq. ft. of temperature-controlled indoor space with all the amenities needed to ensure comfort for both your guests (recommended for 50–185 people) and your vendors. This is not your average barn: the modern reception center was purpose-built for weddings and events, while complementing the timeless beauty of the Guildford Farm estate.
For wedding party prep, both the historic Home and the Event Center Loft (which includes a flat-screen TV, private bathroom, and walk-out deck with breathtaking views) offer beautiful and functional getting-ready spaces. The Event Center restrooms include three toilets per side, each with an ADA-accessible stall, so there’s no need to worry about long lines for your guests.

Guildford Farm is a family owned, family run local business. My dad "Paw Paw" (18 grandkids) is the owner and me (Jonny) and my wife (Katie) operate the business. We opened the home and beautiful estate as a wedding venue in 2014 after Katie and I decided to get married on my parent's property (2 of my 3 older brothers and their wives were also married at GF)! We continue to evolve the business, offering lodging in the home for the entire weekend + 2 days of access to our 4,000 sq ft indoor event center (opened in 2021). We are constantly upgrading and adding new exciting features! The best part: Rodney, my dad, is still on site on wedding days to add a special touch and friendly face to welcome your family and guests to family. He's a warm soul who everybody loves!

The venue itself was better than anything we ever imagined. The wedding came together overlooking the hills, and the natural beauty made our wedding so memorable. The sun set during our dinner, and it turned into one of the most memorable moments of our reception—we went outside to capture the moment and our entire wedding moved out as well. It was an incredible, unscripted moment that was made possible by the natural beauty of Guildford Farm.
We wouldn’t change a thing about our wedding and can’t imagine a better team of coordinators and planners. Katie and Jonny were both incredible, and Rodney also made our experience special. Our day of coordinator Marianne was detail oriented and ensured everything was perfect.
We’d recommend this group to anyone. We had several other friends that got married around the same time, and their wedding stories included a lot of stressful moments and mishaps that the our team ensured we never had to face. Guildford Farm knows what they’re doing and gave us a day that we wish we could relive forever.

From the manor home, to the ceremony overlooking the mountains, to the clean and vibrant event center, the venue itself is absolutely beautiful and provided the perfect backdrop for our special day. Not only is the property stunning, but having access to the entire venue for the whole weekend made the experience unforgettable. Our guests are still talking and asking about this breathtaking venue!
Another perk was being able to stay in the manor home with our closest people, wake up on-site, and get ready there. This added such a special, relaxed, and intimate feeling to the celebration. It truly felt like our own private estate for the weekend.
From our final walkthrough, allowing us to bury a bottle of bourbon (perfect weather!), capturing all the final details, and making sure every moment was accounted for (Katie literally sent us beautiful last minute moments of our wedding day that we will cherish forever), Katie and Jonny went above and beyond. We cannot recommend Guildford Farm enough - they truly made our wedding day and weekend unforgettable!

t it was to find a place that had, what I considered, the "total package." Then, I strolled upon Guildford Farm and my worries started to melt away. I really valued the space, of course, but the house that we were able to use for the entire wedding weekend really won me over. The house is old, and beautiful with so much space for the wedding party to get ready. Because I had such a large bridal party, it was really important to me that my venue had an area for us all to be together while getting ready for the big day. They have an amazing "man cave" downstairs -even complete with a whiskey cellar where the groomsmen were able to keep separate from the bridesmaids and bride. It was so special to have family stay at the house with us that weekend. One of my favorite memories will always be hanging out in the large kitchen, reliving the night's events while snacking on leftover reception food. The venue is an open, blank space that is beautiful on it's own, with plenty of opportunity for creativity. I loved having the private space upstairs to watch my guests from above before I walked down the aisle. Last but not least, Katie and Jonny were wonderful to work with. Katie was so knowledgeable about the space and had wonderful recommendations for us throughout our planning process. We were so thankful to work with them because they are easy-going, responsive, and understanding!

it's own with minimal decorations needed, however, you are more than welcomed to let your personality shine. Being able to have Rodney carry us on the golf cart back to the house after the wedding to hit the hot tub was a highlight of the day. Guildford Farm is a family affair with the many warm and inviting family members available to help. The mom, Jeannie, stopped by to gift us a bottle of wine and card. You really should stay in the house (we also added days - highly recommend) with friends or family. It makes getting ready and the time spent so much rewarding. I am still jealous my now husband was able to go on a hike, hit the hot tub, shower, and play pool without leaving the property all whilst I was getting hair and make up done on our wedding day. I don't think I could have imagined a more perfect day or wedding weekend and Guildford Farm was a big part of that.

Having the house for the weekend was super nice for hosting folks, and it has great character and nice furnishings. It was nice having just one property for the events of the whole weekend and there was plenty of space (we had ~160 guests). It did rain during our outside ceremony (classic VA summer) but truly was a perfect weekend and Johnny and Katie are so responsive and made things easy.

In addition, they were the sweetest and nicest people to work with!! The event center was the perfect size for our 130 guest wedding! We got married outside of the event center which had the most beautiful view of the mountains in October. We could not have asked for a better day to get married; the weather and fall colors were sooo breathtaking. Another reason we chose to go with Guildford was for the beautiful historic manor home which is located on the property! We were able to hold our rehearsal dinner at the house the night before where we had a pizza food truck! On the day of the wedding, the house was perfect for both wedding parties to get ready in! The groom/groomsmen took the basement which was decked out with a nice tv, couches, and games! The bride/bridesmaids took the upstairs where hair and makeup took place! The layout of the house was perfect for this! We used the middle floor to set up food for both parties to enjoy, while this kept the bride and groom separate from one another! Our entire wedding party raved on how wonderful and beautiful Guildford Farm was! Another amazing part of booking with Guildford is they give you the option to use the event center and manor home for the entire weekend of your wedding; which most wedding venues do not allow in the Charlottesville area! We were able to check in on friday and checkout sunday! This made our experience less stressful as Ruckersville was a destination wedding for us! We could not recommend Guildford Farm enough for any couple who is looking for a place to hold their wedding! 10000/10!!

enues before I decided on Guildford Farm, and I can honestly say nothing else compared. The venue price is very affordable, especially considering all that is included. Not only do you have the venue friday through Sunday morning, you also get to stay at the gorgeous house on the property. The house is lovely and quite big, it's perfect for gathering together with family and friends before the wedding. It's also the perfect location to get ready the morning of the wedding. The house has a beautiful and spacious backyard that you can host a rehearsal dinner an evening bonfire thr night before the wedding (which we did both and it was a hit with family amd friends). You are also given the chance to rent the house a few days prior to the wedding (which we did) and it was an amazing opportunity to spend time with family.
The reception venue is perfectly spaced and allows for couples to be creative. The owners are nearby and available (but out of sight). They are incredibly friendly and helpful, offering advice and ideas help make your day perfect. They were quick tonrespond to questions and followed up after the wedding to ensure everything went perfectly. They also provided a list of trusted vendors, which were wonderful and all of which had great reviews.
The ability to use the space the day before the wedding and most of the following Sunday was extremely helpful and allowed us to truly enjoy the wedding without rushing the day before or after the wedding.
I would highly recommend using this venue. If I could do my wedding all over again I would without a doubt choose Guildford Farm again. I can honestly say we had absolutely no regrets.

Our photographer also had had a blast getting creative with the scenery and taking photos at this venue!! Lastly, one of our favorite things about this place was getting a reasonable price for the whole weekend and getting to hang out/celebrate with our folks the entire time. Highly recommend.

from the specific owner's planning (she was stellar). The venue includes both the reception/wedding space, and also a home, and I am including both in this review.
1, VALUE- Incredible value for a full weekend and on-site lodging. The amount we and our bridal party saved in hotel cost more than makes up for the full-weekend fee, and what could possibly be better than hanging out with your favorite friends all weekend? If you're looking for winery-aesthetic with more freedom and lower cost than most C-ville winery venues, this is your spot. The best part is this reception/wedding space is a blank canvas and can be dressed up several ways, so you aren't cornered into a vibe (ex. don't have to go rustic, don't have to go glam, etc).
2, PHOTOS - gorgeous photo spots. They have a classic bridal suite, 2 balconies, mountain backdrops, field backdrops, a pond, and a home with so much vintage character packed into aesthetic rooms - three of which are themed by color which makes for adorable photos with 10/10 natural morning lighting. The venue includes a masculine den for groomsman photos. The arbor is built-in which also saves time and improves photos.
3, FUN - As of writing this review, the venue comes with over-sized games (ex. jenga, connect-4) which makes cocktail hour way more fun. It also comes with a bar which saves lots of for rentals. If you like fishing, there is a pond, and trails for hiking. There is also a sick basement space for groomsmen to stash away and hang out all day. If you want a "royalty" moment, there is an interior balcony from the bridal suite where you can go watch the party (or bridal party entrances) from far above.
4, PRIVATE - There is nothing around to cause any sort of noise disturbance or traffic or wedding crashers. There is shopping/target about 15 minutes away, so you can run out to get emergency items if needed. The stars at night are super bright due to minimal light pollution.
5, EASY - If you have anxiety about timelines being crunched, your reception ending too early, or forgetting your rings in your bedroom, Guildford is the best possible venue to battle those fears. The layout allows for easy movement between spaces which minimizes risk of timeline-derailment.
While we didn't run into weather issues, I would say the venue can moderately flex for rain - they have backup plans, and while obviously any rain plan is not ideal, your wedding attendees wouldn't be soaked and you could still have a pretty ceremony/reception. It's also high on a hill, which means ground would be less muddy.

We loved working with Jonny and Katie. They made time for our visits and addressed our questions whenever they arose. They were kind, generous, and flexible partners in this process. It was even better when we got to see them on the wedding day - helping our guests and shuttling us around on the golf cart for photos.
The house onsite was the perfect accommodation for our rehearsal dinner, overnight guests, and wedding day preparations. Guildford Farm is the total package!

ding day Guildford Farm was there to answer any questions we had. They made planning a wedding easy and seamless. I highly recommend looking at their preferred vendors list, they work with the best of the best. The house on the property made it extremely easy to get ready for the big day. All the bridesmaids and groomsmen had enough space to get ready. The golf cart on the wedding day was a life saver for transporting the wedding party. My heels and feet thank you! Overall, Guildford Farm was a dream wedding venue, and I can’t thank Jonny and his family more for making sure our day was perfect.

This family run venue is extremely clean, incredibly well maintained. They have numerous options for ceremony locations, as well as a place for an indoor rain-plan. Communication with the venue coordinators is efficient, seamless, and met with many suggestions or options based on your request.
An added BEAUTIFUL bonus is the estate house on the venue property that is included with the contract. For our incredible wedding weekend, we were able to offer both sides of our bridal party (and their plus one) a bed to sleep in if they chose to stay on the property. How incredible is that?! While not all of them chose to stay on the property, their hotels or rentals were only a short few-minutes drive away.
The venue space, estate to sleep in, and multi-day use contract that came as an incredible package were EXACTLY what we wanted for our wedding weekend!
We were able to spend a few hours the night before the wedding gathering with friends and family who were in town early. This gave us extra time to soak in all the love and support that we’re gathering in this absolutely beautiful location. Hands down without a doubt, Guildford Farms, is THE wedding venue that people should take notice of! The location is beautiful. The owners are brilliant hosts. And your wedding day feels absolutely magical and private while allowing for ample time to celebrate as you take a remarkably monumental step in life with your forever love!

r. It was huge for us to have a venue that gave us flexibility with what vendors we use and Jonny was very flexible and informative with choosing our vendors. We had 160 guests and both sides of the family stayed in the house the entire weekend. Since both sides of our family live all over the country, it meant the world to use to be able to have personal family time before and after the wedding. We were also able to do majority of setup before the wedding day so that we didn't have to worry about a thing that morning (this was a major bonus!). The reception venue was perfect for the amount of people we had and we didn't have a single issue. The house was cozy and comfortable and it really made a difference to have all events in one spot. We didn't have a full wedding planner (only day of coordinator) and Jonny was very helpful in making the planning process feel not so stressful. Everybody loved their stay and we wish we could have a family reunion there every year because we loved it so much. Would highly highly recommend!!

I cannot emphasize enough how calming it is to be staying on site at the venue all weekend; there is no shooing you out or strict cutoffs before you can start setting up. We were also able to extend our stay for a few days before the wedding at an extremely reasonable price which made logistics with family coming from outside the country much smoother. Beyond the logistics, the house and venue are absolutely beautiful with Southern charm and the natural beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains. I would gladly relive our wedding weekend again and would choose Guildford Farm every time!!

welcoming and helpful. For us, the selling point for this venue was the idea that the actual wedding venue comes with an option to stay in the historical house also on the property. We extended our stay and ended up having the property from Wednesday to Sunday; most of our guests came from out of town and it was so wonderful to be able to offer them a gorgeous place to stay and hang out in the days leading up to and following the wedding. The Kibler family (owners) was absolutely wonderful in every aspect -- when we were thrown a curve ball on the morning of wedding day, several members of the family dropped what they were doing to be with us at the venue and offer love and support. We can't recommend Guildford Farm enough and it will forever hold a special place in our hearts!

was super helpful in setting up the day before and cleaning up the day after. The house was definitely a bonus, as we had most of the wedding party stay at the house so they didn't have to pay for a hotel room. The venue is also very close to hotels, gas stations, restaurants, etc. Also, all of the staff at Guildford Farm were very friendly and helpful throughout the entire wedding process. I highly recommend this wedding venue!!

We instantly felt at home on our venue tour of Guildford - Jonny, Katie, and Rodney spoke exactly to what we were looking for in terms of a day we could craft to exactly what we wanted. They were by our side for the whole process and made sure to prioritize us feeling relaxed and at the center of our day.
The house on the property is a true historic gem and it was SO fun having our whole wedding party stay with us for a true wedding weekend experience. We had ample space to have meals with everyone, get ready the morning-of, play yard games, and some bridesmaids & groomsmen even used the hot tub after our reception ended!
We were also one of the first couples to host our wedding in the new event center and it was the perfect blank canvas for bringing our vision to life. Even though it was a cloudy, drizzly day, the scenery at Guildford stood out and so many guests commented on how picturesque it was. From the front yard of the house to the dock by the pond to all the trees and mountains, our photos came out so beautiful and dreamy.
Cannot recommend Guildford Farm enough - it was the best day of our life!

s spot was the Farm House that you get for the ENTIRE weekend (plus the venue of course). I had 14 bridesmaids (ha!) and it was really important to me that we all spent time together, so everyone being able to stay in the house all weekend was so special and sweet. Having it ON the same property as the event venue was so incredibly helpful. I was able to get rentals dropped early, set some things up early, etc. It really helped the day-of logistics be even smoother because so much happened BEFORE the big day (also less stress on me the day of). The event space itself is brand new, so you can't beat that. It is pretty bare so you do need to come in with a vision of what you want to turn the space into (I would highly recommend taking pictures during your tour and going through past weddings so you can see how others did it there). We didn't have our rehearsal dinner there, but I love that you have the venue all weekend so you COULD have it there if you wanted! We did our ceremony outside the venue overlooking the water/mountains, cocktail hour was supposed to be outside in front of the farm house but it was a bit too cold so everyone went inside and they said it was their favorite part (so many people said: "It felt like a huge Christmas party in that cozy house!"), and then our reception was back up at the venue. We had 140 guests and did a cocktail style reception (some seated and some standing). We had seating for about 90-100 guests and then a huge dance floor with a DJ. I love that GF is a bit off the beaten path without being forever away from Charlottesville (only 30 from downtown, 15 from the airport--that's amazing). You get STELLAR views and you're not even far from town! Highly, highly recommend!!!!!

eat decision. My entire family and my husband’s mom all got to stay comfortably in the lovely, large house for the weekend. The many rooms of the house allowed for lots of space for my family to spread out and be comfortable and for the whole bridal party to be able to be there at the same time the morning of the wedding without the guys and girls seeing each other. The girls used both the master bathroom of the bridal suite for hair and the room across from it, which had gorgeous natural light and a full length, beautiful gilded mirror, for makeup. The guys gathered in the basement game room and were thoroughly entertained! We utilized the balcony for our large wedding party photos. We stood on the front porch and second floor porch of the house, and it was stunning! It was so nice just being footsteps away from the event center. I had forgotten my veil at the house and remembered it shortly before the ceremony started, so I could just send someone to run down to get it. Roddy did an amazing job greeting guests and carting them around the property on his awesomely decorated golf cart (GO DUKES!) We utilized all spaces of the property: we hosted the rehearsal dinner, Friday night meet & greet, and wedding reception all inside and around the event center, which fit all of our 200 wedding guests, and we held a send off coffee/breakfast around the front porch and lawn of the house. Which again, was awesome to only have to relay one address for the entire weekend. Jonny & Katie were both readily available to answer all questions throughout our planning process and through the weekend. They were always so quick to answer questions and figure out solutions for us. It had rained a good bit the days before our wedding, and Jonny was out there on Thursday evening, making sure everything was how we were anticipating. From answering questions from the catering company, the tent rental company, and our day-of coordinator, the Kiblers were attentive with their hospitality and Guildford Farm was the perfect spot to host our wedding!

The beauty and versatility of the spaces and property were only matched by the Kiblers’ warm hospitality, care, responsiveness, and flexibility. Throughout the planning their priority was to make sure the wedding and weekend were everything our daughter and son-in-law wanted it to be and they achieved that with flying colors.
The new event center, with its simple, classic, natural light-filled interior offered a great canvas on which to see our daughter’s vision for her wedding reception come to fruition. The space offers great flexibility for dressing it up or having a more casual vibe. It was so nice to have versatility in holding each part of the celebration in different inside and outdoor spaces. We had the ceremony outside with the great surrounding mountain views and lake below, the cocktail hour on the large, covered front patio, the dinner inside, and then because of the size of our daughter’s wedding (200) we opted to get a tent and have the dancing under it, right next to the covered patio. This allowed for great flow for guests between the inside, the patio and the dance floor, making it all seem like one big wonderful space. It was great to also be able to host the rehearsal dinner at the event center.
The new center is just one of the big highlights of the property. We also loved having the incredible house for the weekend for the family and bridal party and holding an outdoor wedding send-off breakfast there. Guildford Farm is a fabulous place run by terrific people. You will love working with them and creating your dream wedding weekend!

knew we wanted to include Guildford in our wedding weekend. We worked with the Kiblers to design the rehearsal dinner we always wanted! We had our family stay on the farm which was great to have everyone in one place and we had dinner on the property!
We had many guests from out of town and were able to host the perfect casual welcome party on site and our guests were able to explore the property and play cornhole, canjam and frisbee right in the back yard! The best part about it is it was completely customizable to what we wanted it to be! Working with the Kiblers was a pleasure and we were very happy with the day!

Having the whole wedding party in one place made for a stress-free wedding day, and everyone commented on how the whole weekend felt like one awesome family reunion.
