wers on the Green in Guilford), I noticed White House florist was across the street and decided to drop in to see whether anyone happened to be free. Being a non-obtrusive, I walked in and politely asked whether anyone happened to be available to answer some questions about wedding arrangements. Instead of a smile and a warm welcome, I received an exasperated glare and was brusquely told that "most people make appointments." Taken aback, I politely asked whether there was an alternate time I should return on appointment. Moments later, the owner/wedding consultant walked in and again, with the same unfriendly and exasperated attitude, told me how busy her schedule was and then explained to me how valuable her time was, and that she requires a deposit for a wedding consultation because she could be making arrangements to make money in the time it takes her to discuss wedding arrangements with me. Although I was surprised, given I have been to much more high-end and expensive florists for consultations without a charge, I acknowledge the fact that she has the right to run her business as she deems fit. However, her tone of voice and manner of conduct was not only condescending and unfriendly, but unprofessional and inappropriate for someone who is supposed to provide customer service and a pleasant experience for a future bride. Why waste your time with someone who clearly does not value you or your wedding when there are dozens of other local florists who are warm, welcoming, creative, friendly, and don't charge a consultation fee? Of the dozens of vendors I have met with over the past month planning for this wedding, this was the first unpleasant and unprofessional experience I have had, and I hope no one else experiences this type of treatment during what is already a busy and stressful process.

how me examples and told me what I should want. INSTEAD, Paula had many examples to show me of floral arrangements both in a book and on an iPad. She listened to my ideas even when I changed my mind many times and helped me to create beautiful bouquets, boutonnieres, and centerpieces. She is kind, thoughtful, and reliable. ve been more helpful, friendly, or attentive as we looked at photos and discussed what felt right for my wedding. I showed her a few pictures of the types of bouquets I liked best, and she took copious notes to ensure that she knew exactly what I wanted.
I was a little worried about the price when all was said and done, but White House Florist was truly worth it in the end. Like I said, I am not so great with little details and hadn't put a huge effort into other decorations for the wedding, but the arrangements Paula provided were so gorgeous that almost nothing else was needed. It was like a work of art at every table.
I loved my bouquet, which was delivered very promptly on the day of the wedding, and Paula even stayed to check and make sure I didn't need any adjustments made to it. My bridesmaids loved their bouquets as well. The centerpieces were so stunning and lasted for days following the wedding.
Paula clearly has a gift for understanding exactly what a client wants and she has a talent for bringing that vision to life. She was willing to help me cut costs wherever possible and was never pushy in the slightest.
I am so glad we went with White House Florist. We ended up spending a little more than we first planned, and while I was originally in the camp of "why spend so much on something temporary?" I can honestly say the beautiful, fresh arrangements made our entire ceremony and reception look and feel more elegant and special. With all the little things that went wrong throughout wedding planning, our florist was one thing that was perfect from beginning to end.

ions and advice. The team did an amazing job, the flowers were beautiful and she rented me glass candle centerpieces that were beautiful as well! They dropped everything off at numerous locations day of, and even picked up everything we had rented after the wedding at night. The final product was even better than I had imagined - working with me to incorporate vintage rhinestone broaches and pins throughout the bouquets, utilizing the eclectic mix of vases I had gathered and purchased, and creating a gorgeous display of fairy berry branches and lights above the dance floor was just breathtaking. She understood the look I was going for and executed it perfectly and for that I am extremely grateful.

I am so happy I have many pictures of them since I wish I could just stop time and have those arrangements up year round. She was able to design bouquets, pocket cards, corsages and boutonnieres that suited us perfectly, even using the lace from my mother's wedding gown to wrap my bouquet and my husband's boutonniere. She was even able to keep our centerpieces at under $20 a table by using potted lavender instead of flashy, expensive and boring flowers. I would recommend this florist to anyone, whether for a special event or simply to pick up a gift for a loved one.
