About this vendor
Gunpowder Soup has the longest continuous track record (since 1999) and the highest claimed number of Texas weddings played, making them arguably the most experienced dedicated wedding band in Texas. Country, 80s, 70s disco, Classic Rock, Pop hits
Several live performance aspects set Gunpowder Soup apart as a more energetic band than most competitors in Texas:
• Interactive Engagement: Band members regularly join the dance floor with wireless microphones and instruments, singing, playing alongside, and dancing directly with guests. This immersive approach brings the party into the crowd and invites guests of all ages to participate—turning attendees into performers for select songs.
• Crowd Participation: Gunpowder Soup often encourages audience members to play tambourines (our signature) or cowbells, sing lead or backing vocals using the band’s microphones, and, at times, join the group on stage for signature moments. This transforms the dance floor into a collective celebration and sustains high energy levels all night.
• Dynamic, Customizable Setlists: The band reads the room in real time, adjusting their genre-spanning playlists to match crowd energy and requests. Their setlists range from classic country and 80s hits to current pop, ensuring musical momentum and broad appeal throughout the event.
• Multiple Lead Vocalists: With four lead singers available at every show (at no extra charge), Gunpowder Soup can deliver fast-paced medleys and maintain variety in sound and style, rarely letting the tempo dip between songs.
• Seamless Song Transitions & Show Flow: Songs are performed back-to-back with minimal downtime, keeping the dance floor crowded and energy peaking. Band members actively emcee key moments and keep the celebration moving, from the first dance through closeout.
• High-Quality Production: Gunpowder Soup uses advanced sound and lighting, with a GRAMMY-winning engineer at most shows to guarantee crisp, powerful audio and compelling stage presence. Their technical expertise means that the energy isn’t sapped by poor acoustics or awkward transitions—everything feels upbeat and professional.
• Consistent Band Lineup: Unlike franchise bands with rotating musicians, Gunpowder Soup features the same core lineup at every event. This results in tight musical chemistry and a unified on-stage energy that’s clearly felt by the audience.
Client reviews consistently praise Gunpowder Soup for turning even reserved guests into dancers and ensuring that the dance floor stays filled all night, with routines and spontaneous crowd interaction that competitors rarely match

Gunpowder Soup Band brought the party! Gunpowder Soup played at my daughter’s wedding this past weekend. They played all the best songs and they have extremely talented musicians! ...
They also get the crowd involved. The entire wedding was dancing and had so much fun!! We were so sad when they told us it was the last song- it was still very crowded on the dance floor. Everyone at our wedding asked where we found this awesome band. My daughter was the one who found the band saying that it is always more fun to have live music - she was right! If you want to make your wedding or birthday celebration or other event exceptional, you absolutely NEED to book this band!! They were worth every dollar spent! I have not had so much fun on an evening out in such a long time!

big reason of how great of entertainers they are! They really get the crowd going and dancing. They interact with the crowd and let the crowd sing in the microphone. If you have the means to book this band for your wedding, DO IT!!!!! Highly recommend!

was absolutely blown away with their performance. We had the time of our lives the night of our wedding-and GPS was a big aspect of that. I would also like to note that when we had to move both venues and dates just 3 months prior to wedding, Jeanine was not only patient and understanding, but so helpful with the transition. GPS will be the highlight of your wedding and will absolutely bring the party-no matter your style. They are a jack of all trades AND a master of all!

s to sing along...(because we all know that after a few cocktails, everyone thinks they are a rockstar.) One of the things I really appreciated is that the music wasn’t so loud that you couldn’t talk. I’ve been to weddings before where, the band is way too loud and hard on the older guests attending. Thank you Jeanine for helping me navigate through the selection process. I would Highly recommend this band.
Such a fun band! Everyone at our wedding had a blast!
Gun Powder Soup was amazing! They had all our guests on the dance floor! Thank you GPS for being a part of my big day and making my wedding dream a reality!! 💙

ation, Texas on 2/22/20 and we were absolutely BLOWN AWAY! We contracted with them to provide every service they offered -- from the wedding music, MC option, and of course, reception ENTERTAINMENT -- and we could not be happier customers! Our daughter and new son-in-law -- and over 150 guests -- had to be pulled off the dance floor at the end of the night as one song was as FUN as the next! From the initial contact with Jeanine last January to the follow-up after the wedding, the whole process was extremely PROFESSIONAL and E-A-S-Y! We truly cannot say enough good things about GPS and will forever be thankful that they were a part of our special evening!
There are not enough words to describe how AMAZING this band is!! Their sound, style and personalities really impressed ALL our guests. They have a wide range of music for all to e...

performing, Marius brought his microphone to the dancefloor so we could sing along with the music. They also have tambourines and a cowbell for the audience to interact with. Jayna did a great job coordinating with the wedding party so the announcements run smoothly. Jeanine was very helpful and responsive to my husband and me with any questions or requests we had leading up to our wedding day. If you are looking for a live band for your wedding or event, look no further than Gunpowder Soup!

tic job at our wedding! I knew from the first moment that they were the band for us and now we have the best memories of our special day! They will engage your crowd no matter the audience and keep the night pumping! Thanks again for being a part of our wedding!!
Gunpowder Soup exceeded all expectations on our wedding day. We received numerous compliments on the band’s talent throughout the night and text messages afterwards asking for the ...
band’s name. We paid extra for the band to learn our first dance song and they did a fantastic job on the song. Well worth the money. They played songs all ages know so we had all ages dancing all night. They are professional throughout all stages of the booking and performance process. My now husband’s only request was a live band for the wedding because he thought there cannot be a party without a live band. Well, there is no wedding reception without Gunpowder Soup, they are exceptional. I researched numerous bands on the internet and eventually found Gunpowder Soup. It is hard to find a band on the internet because whoever can manipulate the video's voice, instrumentation, etc. to make the band sound good. However, I knew after listening to Gunpowder Soup’s videos, especially their KSAT television video, they had real talent and it definitely showed on our wedding night. I highly recommend this band for your wedding night or any event.
Gun Powder Soup is an absolute must-have for any function!!!! Not only do they entertain the entire audience, they perform songs better than the original artists by putting their ...
spin on their music. They are classy, fun, energetic, and super talented! We hired them for our daughter’s wedding in June 2018.... our friends STILL talk about our awesome band!! They are worth every penny and more!

to be a GREAT party. We booked GPS based on online reviews and YouTube videos, without having seen them live. We absolutely made the right call. They kept the crowd on the dance floor and people were energized all evening. We got compliment after compliment on their ability and energy. I would absolutely book them again!
Honestly, if I could give them a 10 ...I would!! We hired Gunpowder Soup for our daughter’s wedding. My husband said that was the only thing he wanted a say in all the wedding plan...
ning was that we had to get GUNPOWDER SOUP to play at the reception! We had gone to a wedding a year ago in San Antonio where they had played and had the best time ever! We were so glad when I called Jeanine and the date was available for our daughter’s wedding. Their rates are wonderful and the communication between Jeanine and I couldn’t have been any better! I would call with a question and she was always available to visit with me and put my mind at ease on anything to do with the music for the wedding and reception! They showed up many hours before the wedding to set up and they looked great! The interaction with the people was spot on as they kept the party going by getting folks to sing along and play the tambourines and the cow bells, which my husband was given his own cow bell to play from a good friend of ours! (He remembered Duff playing it at the wedding in San Antonio)! Friends and family are still talking about how much fun the wedding reception was and how outstanding the band was! They can play just about any song genre and do it very well!! It was the Best Day Ever for our family!! Thank you Gunpowder Soup for being such a huge part of Allison and Clay’s special day!! 🤗❤️
The best wedding band (or any occasion band, for that matter) EVER!! They are seriously amazing! They were the best part of our wedding. They know exactly how to engage an audience...
. Everyone was up on their feet dancing! Even some of my guests who I thought I'd never see dancing!! Our wedding was almost a month ago and people are still talking about the band and how much fun they were. They also make an effort to make the bride and groom feel special all evening! They are great about following the timeline of events for the evening. I loved that they bring a microphone in to the audience to let guests sing. And the tambourines they pass out are so much fun! I highly recommend this band, I wouldn't have wanted anyone else. :)

eption! During our ceremony, Jayna played keys and sang a few songs so beautifully and had everyone in tears! During the reception the band is very interactive with the crowd and will definitely have everyone up on their feet dancing, singing & maybe even playing some instruments!

music. We couldn't have found a better band for the job. Their experience really shows! Our guests have given countless compliments about how much fun they had because of the band. They include the guests and make it a big interactive party.
They also recommended an adjustment to our day of schedule by having the Grand March to move our guests from cocktail hour inside and I am SO happy they did. It kicked off the party!
Hire them!!!

y started playing, people were out of their seats dancing. Our guests were chanting "one more song" over and over when Gunpowder Soup announced for everyone to line up for the send-off. They made everyone sing in a microphone around the crowd and had people who don't usually dance sore the next day from dancing so much! Highly highly highly recommend this band. They play everything- from country to popular oldies and new, current songs! You can't go wrong with them.

er is so easy to work with, and accommodated all our requests...including our George Strait/Jon Pardi mash up first dance. They did an excellent job reading the crowd and adapted the playlist to keep the dance floor packed allllll night. One of the band members spent the entire night on the dance floor with us with a mic and guitar, rocking out and getting our friends involved. I could not have asked for a better band for our big night, and they were just so FUN! Central Texas, if you're getting married, or having a party, or just want some amazing entertainment, HIRE THESE GUYS!!!
The band was a great fit for my wedding. The singer has an amazing voice and they provided a lot of entertainment. They even stayed an extra hour since my family was having such a ...
great time. The male singer was on the dance floor letting the crowd sing and was so delightful. The groom and I ran late so we were unable to hear a lot of the music, but they did great at livening up the party. Would recommend to anyone in the Hill Country. They work great outdoors too.

as willing to learn whatever song we requested for our ceremony music. The whole band was at the reception and they seriously killed it! The dance floor was full pretty much all night and we have had a ton of people tell us it was one of the most fun weddings they have been to- which I truly believe was in large part due to our awesome band. The way they interact with the crowd and let people sing and play with them is so fun! Overall, I would totally recommend Gunpowder Soup for your wedding!!

ough out the night Marius came down into the audience with the mike and let the guests sing to the songs. They kept everyone up and on their feet laughing and dancing. I had multiple guests say that we had the best wedding reception they had ever been to and are still talking about it. I wholeheartedly believe it is because of this fun-loving group. I couldn't have asked for a better band!

questions and requests. Our guests had a blast, but be warned – they will require you to sing and dance with them!
My husband and I were fortunate enough to have Gunpowder Soup agree to perform at our wedding. They'd come highly recommended and, luckily, played country (my favorite) and oldies ...
(my husband's favorite). The band was approachable, allowed us to cater the play list to best suite our guests and even entertained my father and allowed him to play cowbell on a song or two. They allowed guests to join in on the microphones and came out from behind the stage to integrate with the crowd and enhance the overall experience. The guests loved it. We did too. As an added bonus, the band flawlessly edited our first dance song so that it wasn't too long but the edits weren't obvious. Their music was fantastic. We expected as much. Their flexible was astonishing. It couldn't be replaced. The enthusiasm and crowd engagement turned an otherwise typical wedding dance into a topic of conversation. We couldn't have made a better decision on hiring this group and would eagerly share our enthusiasm with brides and grooms to be.

coolest people! They really got the crowd involved in their performance by having the groom play the cow bell, my bridesmaids singing a song, and children playing instruments. Everyone loved that! Gunpowder Soup is a fantastic band!" Stacey Handy
The band was very professional and played a wide variety of music that pleased every guest!!! They got the party started the moment they took the stage!
